Official Support for Multisite Behind SA520 Firewalls?

I'm at the beginning of a new multisite implementation with two sites. There are existing SA520 firewalls at each site. I have a UC540 and a UC560 with latest software packs and CCA 3.2(2).
I'd like to know if multisite is currently (April, 2013) officially supported by Cisco when the UC devices are behind SA520 firewalls and whether this is configurable using CCA 3.2(2).
I've done multisite in the past in an unsupported configuration via CLI and I'm hoping to go "by the book" as much as possible on this one. I can drop the SA520 firewalls if needed.  I have a lot of support procedures built around the SA520 so I have some incentive to keep them in place but not at the expense of running an unsupported configuration.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello Jeffrey,
The way this will be configured depends upon the topology you go with.  If you leave the SA520's in place, the VPN connection would be between the SA520's, and the UC500's would not be involved, and this would not be configured using CCA.  This is supported, but just not thought the UC500's or CCA.
If you make the UC500's the edge devices, or put them in a DMZ with public IP addresses, then the multisite configuration in CCA can be used, and also is supported.
So, I guess it just depends on which way you want to go.  But both topologies are supported by Cisco, but CCA will only be used (For the VPN configuration) if the UC500's are configured with Public IP addresses.
Thank you,
Darren

       Support for APs behind NAT
In the 7.2.103.0 release, you can deploy up to 3 OfficeExtend access points (OEAPs) behind a NAT device. You can deploy up to 50 FlexConnect access points (with or without Data DTLS) behind a NAT device.

I'm confused, does it mean I can't have more than 3 OEAP602s deployed in the same remote site (let say, a Hotel) with the same Public IP back to my OEAP-WLC ?

I know on 7.0 MR1 only supports 1. I learned that the hard way doing a meeting at a hotel for our staff.
One thing we did was hook up a switch to port 4 and did HREAP with 2 other aps.. Not ideal but I like to test limits ..

  • Photoshop has detected graphics hardware that is not officially supported for 3d

From what I've read I thought 512 MB or vRAM would work with 3d. It used to anyhow. I get the pop up that says it's not officially supported for 3d, and has temporarily disabled 3d functionality.
I've tried setting the prefences under graphics processor settings to Basic, Normal, and Adavanced with no luck getting the 3d to work again. It was working fine before the last update to 13.1

  • Is Windows Azure officially supported for Exchange 2013?

Though Exchange 2013 can be installed on Windows Azure, however can somebody help me in knowing that if its officially supported with it OR can live environment of Exchange be setup on Windows Azure?

    Hinte is correct.
You can set up a Exchange 2013 lab in Azure. You may have seen that Henrik Walther has done just that:
    http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/office-365/exchange-online/deploying-exchange-2013-hybrid-lab-environment-windows-azure-part1.html
But this is just for practice / training.
Besides lack of support, cost of sufficient resources to run E2K13 correctly would be greater than simply using O365 / Exchange Online.

  • Adobe Official Support for Adobe Flash Builder

What is Adobe's official support end date for Flash Player and Adobe Flash Builder generated applications (inclusive of version of the Flash Builder SDK)?

    Geoff,
Thanks for the reply, I'm looking for any info on the comittment to support Windows 7 once it is out.
The fact that LR works okay for me on the beta, it seems okay to me.
If there is an official or semi official "LR works with W7, but with the following known issues.....", then I know how far to push the software, and whether I need to keep a Vista machine running a little longer until the issues are fixed in an upcoming (Oct onwards) update to LR.

  • Official support for Google Calendar or at least o...

    Hello
I am using the _very_ useful program GCalSync (www.gcalsync.com). It is in early development, but works fine for synchronizing Google calendar with the built-in Nokia Calendar.
I know there are programs for synchronizing with Microsoft Outlook, but not everyone likes or uses that program, so a program that supports open standards would be very nice.
I would like Nokia to support the subscription of XMl/iCal feeds so I at least got one way syncronization.
Is there anyone else out there who needs this?

This sounds like a good idea to me, I've only recently started using Outlook - and only because I wanted to sync the calendar.
You should suggest it to Nokia directly, though this isn't the place to do it oddly enough lol, use the Contact Us link up there ^ or email the idea to [email protected]
I'm sure if enough people here agree with it, and suggest it too, they'll take notice if they haven't already

  • MST Support for MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 - DisplayPort 1.2 - Will it ever happen? (with sources)

So back in October, I purchased a brand new Macbook Pro Retina (MBPr), fully loaded with top of the line specs.  I was soooo excited to have Thunderbolt 2 tech which Intel AND Apple describes as having DisplayPort 1.2a compatibility - which up to this point is unfortunately NOT the case.  The point of the information/questions and requests in this article is to engage a conversation about the issues of not having MST support after Apple falsely mislead their consumers to think otherwise - especially when it is clear the MBPr is capable.  Please read on...
Apple advertises that the Thunderbolt 2 ports on BOTH the MBPr and the new Mac Pro (NMP) will have 4K Display support with the famed 20gb/sec Ports (DisplayPort 1.2 only requires a little above 17gb/sec).  Now that the 10.9.1 update has been released, we have failed to see MST or Multi-Stream Transport enabled on the MBPr Late 2013.  Now, as for the New Mac Pro- it DOES have MST enabled in 10.9.1 with the AMD GPUs.  For all of you out there that's questioning what this means, short answer is basically the Mac Pro will be able to power a 4K Monitor at 60Hz through the Thunderbolt 2 Port but the New MBPr is stuck with only HDMI 1.4 support which tops out at 4K 30Hz. 30Hz is unacceptable for anything but movies or a photo slideshow.  At 30Hz the cursor will jump across the screen, eliminating any of the benefits of 4K.
    BUT it gets worse...
Apple can be seen advertising that the new MBPr 15" model can power a 4K monitor THROUGH the Thunderbolt 2 Port here: http://www.apple.com/thunderbolt - This article quotes the following:
"Now with Thunderbolt 2 built into the new Mac Pro and MacBook Pro with Retina display, you can connect the latest 4K desktop displays and get double the bandwidth for your peripherals. And the two generations of Thunderbolt technology are compatible with each other."
Does this not let the consumer assume that the newest MBPr will be able to drive a 4K display through the Thunderbolt 2 Port?  I would say yes it does, but at the time I wrote this, the TB2 Ports can't power a 4K display because, as previously stated, MST is disabled in Mavericks for the 15" MBPr Late 2013.
NOW, later on Apple posted the following article on 4K support here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6008
4K support on the MacBook Pro (Retina, Late 2013)
MacBook Pro supports 4K displays and Ultra HD TVs at the following resolutions and refresh rates with the built-in HDMI port:
    3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz refresh rate
4096 x 2160 at 24 Hz refresh rate (mirroring is not supported at this resolution)
In the article above the New Mac Pro is listed as having support for a 4K Display with the Thunderbolt 2 Port (or MST DisplayPort 1.2a Technology) at 60Hz with no problem.  This leads myself and many others to believe that MST will NEVER be enabled on the newest MacBook Pro Retina with Nvidia GPUs. Yes, 4K IS supported but ONLY through the HDMI 1.4 port, which has the limitation of only 30hz.  This two-faced advertising is extremely upsetting to a LOT of people, including myself.
Interestingly enough, THIS IS NOT a hardware issue.  If one ventures into Windows 8.1 via Bootcamp and connects a 4K Display via the Thunderbolt 2 (or through DP1.2) Port, the Display registers at 60Hz, thus proving that the Thundberbolt 2 Hub Controller is completely capable of MST DisplayPort functionality.  Clearly this a driver issue with Apple, Nvidia or Intel or any combination.  What Apple has done here is forcing any professional that desires stable and clear 4K technology through their MacBook Pro Retina to do so only using Windows 8.1 on their own machines!  Definitely an oxymoron if you ask me...
Later on when the Mac Pro was ready for ordering, Apple placed the Sharp PN-K321 as a compatible option for a 4K Display.  On the Store page featuring the (over three thousand dollar) Sharp 4K display, located here http://store.apple.com/us/product/HD971LL/A/sharp-32-pn-k321-4k-ultra-hd-led-mon itor?fnode=53 Apple states the following:
"Note that 4K DisplayPort operation is only compatible with the new Mac Pro (Late 2013)."
All of that being said, and I'm terribly sorry for my wordy ranting...
This brings me to a final two requests to ANYONE reading this post:
    a) Has anyone working with the new 10.9.2 Beta Update seen evidence that DisplayPort 1.2 capabilities will be enabled for the new MacBook Pro Retina (Nvidia 750M) with the promised "Graphics Driver Updates" within the next Mavericks update?
    and
    b) To others that purchased or were/are thinking of purchasing a new MacBook Pro Retina with TB2 Ports: If you are just as upset as me about this crushing blow to consumers that just purchased a $3,000 laptop that were promised something that wasn't delivered - I urge you please, write to Apple and let them know they are making a mistake.  You can do this though the support page or through http://www.apple.com/feedback
Thank you for your precious time, and if anyone has anything to contribute to this issue, please jump in....

    GOOD NEWS!
The Mavericks 10.9.3 update adds official support for Thunderbolt 2, 4K!
I'm not sure if you will be able to daisy chain anything to the 4K display.  I've read that the design of Thunderbolt 2 includes support for DisplayPort 1.2 multi-stream (MST), which allows this type of daisy chaining with 4K, but we don't know if Apple has this supported on it's machines.  Apparently it's been buggy in development because the graphics driver needs to work correctly with the Thunderbolt 2 host controller.  I'm sure they will work it out if they haven't already.
The above is all via found information on this topic, but you can follow some more discussion here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1713876
One more note on Thunderbolt worth sharing: always keep your fastest peripherals closer to the computer in the chain. If you have a TB1 device directly connected to the computer, anything further down the chain will be limited to TB1 speed/capability regardless of it's native speed.  Always connect TB2 devices first, and save anything TB1 for the end of the chain.

i contacted what I thought was Brother Support for my new printer, then I got skeptical.  He gained access through a program called TeamViewer, is my Mac safe?

They're probably just interested in getting $ from you, there are several companies who advertise in a way that suggests 'official' support for all sorts of things. Unfortunately, if they had access as you describe, they potentially could have installed other software and/or read any of your files.
Ideally - change all passwords for email/banking/login & restore a backup from before this happened.

  • VMWare Fusion support for Windows 7?

Does anyone know when VMWare Fusion will come out with an update that supports Windows 7?
I've heard that it can/does work, you just have to choose "Windows Vista" from the list of OSs and make a few tweaks. Still, I don't like using anything in any sort of beta so am hoping they'll have an update out soon that has official support for Windows 7 (i.e. it shows up as an OS choice in the list).
    Anybody know?
    Thanks.

  • Support for Essbase 7?

    Hello Guys,
I am trying to find out when does the official support for Essbase 7 end? It's just that I am writing a report and I cannot find this information anywhere.

John pointed you to the document. I would point out that it says lifetime support. I'll translate. Support will take your call, look throught the list of known bugs and fixes, then tell you the solution is to upgrade to 11.1.1.3 to fix the problem. There will be no escolation of the problem, no patches created, no additional help.

  • Is DB/SE supported for message persistence through OEMS?

    Hi all,
I'm in the process of designing an high availability configuration for ESB.
We will use Oracle database RAC for the metadata repository and for message persistence through Oracle Enterprise Messaging Service (OEMS) as well.
I'm considering to use the Oracle Database Standard Edition (SE) for clustering (Although the license policy for SE not only depends on the number of processor sockets but also on the MCM's since the 1st of May!)
Does anyone know if the database standard edition is officially supported for message persistence through OEMS?

  • SCOM Support for Unix Flavor

Hi -  I am trying to find out whether the unix solaris agent can work on all its flavor - Ex - Nexenta OS - is solaris based OS but customized for storage products.  Similarly We have Linux  flavors for NAS - ex - QNAP TOS.  If not
supported -  Please share any doc/ references / framework you may have for customizing these agents or developoing a new agent. Appreicate your help.
    Sathya

    Sasthya,
Can't say we officially support those versions of the
OS's but if they are just hybrid versions of supported OS's than most likely they would work but we would not provide official support for them.
You can try to run the Discovery Wizard against them and see what happens. The wizard copies the GetOSVersion.sh script over to the system and runs it. This script determines if it's a supported version or not. If the wizard determines it is not supported
you can modify what the GetOSVersion.sh file is looking for to determine the OS and once you get past this it should try to install the agent package. If the agent package is successful and the [scxadmin -status] shows the agent running once complete you should
    be good.
If the above does not work you can always build your own agent for each specific OS -->

  • Official support of Firefox for corporate

    Dear sir,
I'm working for a global company that develops the web server program and it has to align with all browsers. It's now declared IE compatible and next is going to be Firefox. From the Firefox Help page, it has been stated that support is done by worldwide volunteers. That's superb! Anyway, would like to know whether Firefox has an official support channel for corporate specifically? (Like having response time or root cause target date)
    Thank you and kind regards,

Nope - community support is all that is currently available

  • Is there official mouse support for ipad 2?

Just wondering if there is official support from Apple for an external mouse for the ipad 2? Is there a way to get mouse support without voiding the warranty?

Thanks for the answer but no, I'm not too concerned about that. I think my main concern is when I have the ipad docked and connected to an external monitor, I won't to be able to quickly get to a point in a document without having to touch the ipad screen itself. Also, I'm thinking that trying to create shapes or objects in something like keynote would be difficult without a pointing device (although I haven't tried it yet).
