Official Unlock fail

i bought an iphone 4 more than two years ago from t-mobile austria an asked for an unlock one week ago, now ive got an message that it has been submitted to apple an i have to connect my device to itunes with another sim card.
After i had done this, a grey screen on my phone apperad and tol me it has been unlocked, orange austria sim card can now be used, ut itunes told me that my activation has been failed.
so i have an unlocked device buck im not able to manage my device because in itunes i have a white screen with an apple logo and a litte lock symbol in the middle of the screen.
on the sidebar the iphone appears but no archive overview i means music, video, purchased music, etc.
what did i wrong

Solved the problem, hat to restore a second time, 3 times to delete settings after, because my iphone never asked my which icloud backup to use. I recogniced my misstake and unpöugged it from itunes and restored installed with icloud backup.
It only took 3hrs to get everything back to phone, only because of an simple provider unlock.

You need to visit Apple Store, and show ownership proof in case of forgotton pass code.

IPhone 3GS OFFICIALLY UNLOCKED - but Activated fail - HELP!!

Hello - I recently had my iPhone 3GS Officially unlocked by following the AT&T Unlock Program.
The iPhone was previously running iOS 4.1 (8B117). After I did the restore to iOS 6.0.1 using iTunes. iTunes displays a message, saying its unable to complete the activation at this time. So i gave it a few hours and tried again, but I still get the same error message.
Can anyone please help me, fix this?
P.S: I am trying to use a AIRTEL (India) SIM in the phone.

Was it hacked or jailbroken BEFORE you requested a legitimate unlock from AT&T?
If so, the hack has rendered it unable to process the legitimate unlock.

I have a problem unlocking my I phone 3GS
I bought my I phone From Mobily Saudi Arabia for 700$ (official carrier)
It was officially unlocked to all networks and working fine till 3G Network reception failed after few weeks, I visited Mobily center and they replaced it with a new I phone
Now my phone is locked for Mobily sim cards only !
I paid 700$ for a phone that is supposed to work on all networks as advertised on apple’s website and mobily sale’s center .. but IT’S LOCKED !!!!
I went to Mobily many times they say there is a problem in entering serial numbers for replacement phones to apple server, they informed apple about it and they can’t do anything about it right now till apple solve the problem
And my phone will get unlocked eventually after weeks or months who knows ?? (it's been 3 weeks now)

Best speak to Mobily then as its nothing to do with Apple. This is a technical support forum and Apple do not visit these forums.
If it was officially unlocked, and then replaced, you should have asked for an unlocked replacement.Where does it say on Apples website that all phones work on all networks ?
Sounds like you have a problem with Mobily - rather than anyone here. Talk to them as nobody here can help you.

My iphone4 officially unlocked from AT

I got an iphone4 from US. It was officially unlocked from AT&T and is in use in India in a network here. While an update to iOS 5.1.1 was attempted, towards end of download in iTunes (10.6.3.25) an error message 'error -1450' appears and it fails to update; I am using Windows XP home in a Pentium 4 PC with 1 GB RAM, 2.93 GHz Processor, Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials for Internet Security and net connection with speed upto 2 Mbps. can anyone help. the representative of apple's reseller in nearby city of kochi told me that a minimum broadband bandwidth of
3 Mbps is required for the download to work smoothly. accordingly i changed my broadband bandwidth to above 3 Mbps. i tried with that bandwidth and the download and installation could be carried out smoothly. thanks for all help.

Only the original cellular provider can authorize unlocking. You will need to contact them to determine if they offer unlocking and if the phone qualifies.

I'm moving to Rome with my job for eight months, then on to Chicago for four months, then back to London. I'm trying to find out if I buy an unlocked Pay as You Go iPhone in one of the various EU countries selling manufacturer unlocked units (France, Germany, Italy, etc) , will it work in each country if I switch to that country's telecom's Sim cards.
The blogs and iPhone dedicated websites are full of opinions but no one seems to have definitive experience doing this. Some users say it should work, others say the EU iPhones are unlocked for the specific country of purchase but will not work with another country's telecom's Sim cards. The Apple Stores will not confirm any usage outside their own country. Similar response from the relevant telecoms. The Apple Support pages do not make any reference to cross country usage beyond roaming.
A privately unlocked iPhone is an option but I prefer an official unlock so there are no hassles. Not looking for opinions here - can find more than enough on the internet. I'm looking for actual first hand experience using these officially unlocked iPhones between countries.

Apple official unlock o2 UK carrier

Hi I live in Germany but i am soon moving back to italy.
I bought myself an iphone 3g 3.1.2 and it said that it has a carrier lock to o2 UK (iphone was bought last week from london)
Now i have heard that apple has released an official unlock for iphone with o2 carriers as their contract or something is over.....
Now to my question:
I dont want an unofficial unlock of the iphone but an official one from apple so that i can use the iphone in italy (where you can use it with any carrier...)
How do i get one? Do I even get one....? if yes, how?

If you bought it on Ebay you may be lucky, or not. If it really is an O2 phone (many are not, but are hacked US phones) then O2 can unlock it for about £25 I recall but you have to have an O2 SIM AND have at least £15 credit on it.
If its hacked, then nobody will unlock it for you - legally that is.

Then there is no way to confirm that your phone was officially unlocked. Buying from a non-official source, especially an "open market", means you're at the mercy of the seller as to the accuracy of the phone's status. Based on postings here, most of these phones have been hacked. You'll find out for sure though if you update to 3.1.3.

Jailbroken phones can not be discussed here.
It's highly likely that it is now bricked. The jailbreak most likely did permanent damage. There are lots of reports of previously jailbroken/hacked phones that become unusable when attempting to apply a legitimate unlock.

IPhone software update for officially unlocked version?

If it is officially unlocked you should be able to load updates without a problem.
Just remember if you need to have it serviced at all you will need to take it back to Italy.

Update to 5.0.1 has locked my officially unlocked phone.

I purchased my ipone 4 from India and it was unlocked and I am using in Finland with Sonera carrier.After update it says insert sim without pinlock, it gives screens to enter/reneter new pin code but its not helping. My father have same device and it upgraded to 5.0.0 a week back and it didn't happen to him. We bought it from same place so I am sure it was officially unlocked phone.

My brother gave me an iPhone 4 which he directly purchased from an Apple Store in the US and for which he paid full price. It was never activated or used in US. It is being used in Bahrain with Batelco, a seemingly authorized carrier. I want to update it to iOS 7 and want to make sure I can officially Unlock it. What should I do?
I know how to use other methods but I am not interested.

Contact the carrier it's locked to and find out what their policy on unlocking is. Just because he paid full price doesn't mean he purchased an unlocked iPhone. Look at the original receipt. It should specify what carrier it's locked to. If it says it's supposed to be unlocked, contact Apple Care.

You will need to contact Orange France. They are the only ones who can officially unlock a phone locked to their network.

After the official unlock ATT, and recovery in itunes, I can not activate my iphone 4.

Hello, can someone help me? I have an iphone 4 locked ATT. I made an official unlock. I.M.E.I. check says that the iPhone unlocked. I like the instructions, restored it through itunes. But was not able to activate it. here is what itunes: "Your request couldn't be processed. We're sorry, but there was an error processing your request. Please try again later." But I have 2 weeks I can not activate it! As it turned out, I unlocked the iPhone, which has never been activated to itunes. Who knows what can I do?

Try contacting AT&T and seeing what they have to say about it. They should be able to help you if you unlocked the phone through them.
