Official Zen Micro Case. Any Go

Hi, I have just received zen micro number 4 from the Creative RMA department after a string of problems?with dead players and headphone jack?issues.
?I wondered whether I should get the official zen micro case. Has anyone got good experience with this case? I want to keep my headphones plugged in but store it in the case at the same time. Will this be possible? I have a cheap silcone skin case at the moment but maybe wanted something a little more sturdy for my rucksack.
thanks

Thank you Alicia. Geez, I can't really understand why people are making protecti've cases that don't protect the most scratch prone surface of the Micro....
I think I'll end up buying a silicone case and one of those screen protecti've films designed for PDAs and cell phones. Too bad there's nothing better around.

I recently purchased the Creative Zen Micro Case. I've had a purple ZM since they came on the market and really haven't had any problems other than one crash where I lost everything. That was annoying but it did force me to put new stuff on which I don't do on a regular basis.
I have the white Capdase case but was looking for something with a belt clip. The quality of some of the cases with clips isn't that fantastic and not terribly stylish. I decided to go with the Creative case because it was finally available, looked nice and the website claimed it had a clip. They say "clip it to your belt or waistband, or wear it around your neck". The website doesn't have any really good pics of the back of the case though.
The case arri'ved this week. This case does not have a clip. It has a leather loop on the back, attached at one end with a snap. So I could snap it around a belt loop on pants, belt (if I wore one), perhaps snap it around my wrist, around a bag or through my clothes (although that doesn't work and I don't want holes in my clothes). I was very disappointed. I called Creative and complained about the difference between clip and snap. They easily gave me a return authorization number and I shipped it back yesterday.
Just thought anyone looking for a case and considering the Creative one should know so they may avoid disappointment.
Anyway, I purchased a custom Vaja (vajacustom.com) case yesterday. I should have it in a month. The company is in Miami but everything is made in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Yes, this is the same company as Vajacases.com but now you can customize your case and make it any color you want for the same price. Mine will have a lavendar front and violet back... and yes it will have a belt clip. I seriously researched the clip it came with to avoid that mistake again.
    Other Accessories:
I have the Vivid 60 speakers in purple and they are fantastic. Great for the office or any place where its important to hear what's going on around you (i.e., can't wear ear buds).
But I wish there was a docking station in production. Does anyone know if that guy who did zenmicrodock.com is actually going to produce them?

Oh man, I got that case and I hate it. When my Micro is in it, the case doesn't firmly close, and I'm afraid that it will pop open and my Micro will get scratched worse than just being carried around in my pocket.

  • Speakers that conect to the Zen Micro? any such thing?

    cus I saw those http://us.creative.com/products/prod...7&product=9025
and I wanted to know if they could conect?
and if there is any such thing else that can conect to the zen micro?

Jason-CL wrote:dor7, Yes that speaker can connect to the player. In fact, any speaker that's using 3.5mm minijack cable are able to be used with the player. If portable speaker are what you are looking for, then you can check out the Travelsound system. Jason
I just bought the TravelSound 200 unit at CompUSA this afternoon. Fired it up right away and the sound is quite impressive for such a compact unit. Added bonus: included batteries, cable, and a sweet little cushioned "travel case", complete with an internal pocket to store the cable.
A big portable bang for your buck!
    Rock on!

  • Zen Micro Case Quest

Not sure this belongs here...but I have a question about the Creative Zen Micro leather case. You shouldn't get magnets near Mp3 players such as a micro, but the leather case shuts with a magnet. Is this actually safe, or can a keep using mine?

Should be no problem. The magnet is very weak and will not interfere with the player...

  • Anyone bought the Creative Zen Micro Case y

    Hi all,
Just wanted to know if anyone can rate the case for the micro that creative put out. Wondering also if the clip is as weak as the one that came with the 5Gb package (slides into cradle). Thanks

Oh man, I got that case and I hate it. When my Micro is in it, the case doesn't firmly close, and I'm afraid that it will pop open and my Micro will get scratched worse than just being carried around in my pocket.

  • What is the BEST Zen micro case????!!

    Is the creative case good?

There is no best case. It all depends on what fits your needs.
The problem with the Creative case is that you have to flip the cover in order to change something. It is very durable though but some people want to use the Micro as soon as they take it out of their pockets.
Some say Vaja makes the best case since everything they do for you is custom made, has a great protect, custom made, and cost roughly around $70+. I wouldn't say the best because of it's price. But you do get what you paid for.
There are other cases out there like the armor case from boxwave. The silicon case on ebay that cost about $-$3 including shipping from a guy in Hong Kong. Custom made altoids tin with your own type of padding. Leather case for mistic audio. DLO action case which can be bought from Bestbuy or Compusa. Boxwave's silicon case with removable belt clip and some claim that it is thicker or the Rhino Skin silicon case is thicker.

  • Zen Micro Case/Po

Does anyone know when its going to come out in the US?

Well it's in the USA online store and showing as in-stock, so I guess "now".

  • Zen Micro A/C power cord opti

    Hi All,
My Micro recharges just fine when plugged into the USB of my computer with Creative software. However, it will not charge using USB on other computers.
Also, I tried plugging in my Blackberry charger (output 5V,?0.7A)?to the USB port. The Micro has a blinking thunderbolt over the battery icon, but won't run on the AC and won't charge the battery. I believe that "official" Creative Zen chargers are in the same power range as my Blackberry charger, so I don't get the problem. As far as I can figure, my software is updated and current. I don't want to buy a pricey Creative Zen charger if it is not going to work with my (broken?) Zen Micro.
    Any thoughts? Thanks!

    Thanks Coach!
I can't view that particular one (work blocks ebay), but have seen others that are probably similar:

    http://www.amazon.com/Rapid-Charger-.../dp/B000E9C63Q
The thing is, my Blackberry charger?seems to have the same specs, my Zen knows it is plugged in, but the battery does not charge (whether I'm using it or not).

  • Just 5 questions about the Zen Micro Ph

HiJust 5 Q's about that player which i hope i get clear answers 4 'emcan i buy the charger designed for the original Zen Micro 2 be used with this player? if not, is there an additional charger i can buy ?2) How much time it takes the player 2 charge from the USB port and how much does it take in case of using a charger?3) Can i simply plug the player in my PC's USB and boot up windows XP 2 see the player simply as an additional dri've without the need of any special drivers or programs so that i transfer files between my PC and the player with simple drag and dropping4) Can i transfer non-media files (books - programs...etc) using the same method in question 3 without having 2 set up first a dedicated space on the player 4 receiving such files (<--- This is the way which has 2 be done with the old Zen Micros)5) Any dedicated volume control on it yet or it still misses it like old Zen Micros ?THANKS A LOT

Hi Catherina - thx 4 the reply but yr answer implies that the old Zen Micro can be seen in windows explorer directly as an additonal dri've and this contradicts all the reviews i have read about that in order to transfer non-media files to the player, i have 2 either use the bundled program "Zen Media Explorer" or the firmware itself (in case i am not allowed 2 install software on some computer i wanna transfer files from or to) but i was speaking about plugging the player simply in the USB to be detected by XP, assigned to it a dri've letter and then i can start copying files from/to it right away without any additional extra software installed or anything i must configure on the player itself. IMHO, this is how the MP3 players should behave 4 extra simplicity and ease of use
SUGGESTION: can u plz make video clips showing how 2 use the player in all aspects. I have seen that with the iri'ver players where some people (i am not sure if those people are the guys @ iri'ver themselves or just some fans) have posted numerous video clips showing the iri'ver player in all aspects so the end user like me feel like he is using the player in his hands even if he/she hasn't purchased it yet - something that will be very effecti've on people's decision purchase. Wish to see video clips showing all aspects of the Zen Micro player and may be other players
Here is the site i was talking about: www.misticri'ver.net

  • Organizing files in Zen Micro in MediaSource Organi

How do I organize my files in Creative MediaSource Organizer. I just upgraded my Zen Micro to "Plays for Sure" and it didn't show up in Creative Mediasource Organizer. I downloaded a fix for it, and now it shows up. Unfortunately, the files are listed in artist folders and not be tags by artist, genre, title, etc. I used to be able to drag and drop w/in the MediaSource organizer to change artist, album etc. Now I can't do that. Is there a way to organize files w/in MediaSource or Windows Media Player w/in the Zen Micro. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,[email protected]

    <FONT face=Helv size=2>
Here is what you should do:
    - Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site. Make sure that you install this first before installing the rest of the MediaSource plugins listed below.
    - (Depending on your product and firmware. There is no harm installing both if you are not sure.)
For non-PlaysForSure Zen Micro: Download and install the latest Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.20 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.
    or:
For PlaysForSure Zen Micro: Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for PlaysForSure devices (version .00.8) from your product download site.
    - If it is listed for your product: Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for CD Burner 3.0.8 from your product download site.

  • Zen Micro- CHINESE Language Display quest

Hi, i am looking to buy a Zen Micro really soon.
but i have a question regarding it displaying CHINESE CHARACTERS.
does anyone have problems doing so, or any suggestions or warnings?
do i have to have CHINESE Windows for it to work?
    thanks.

I have mp3 files with ID tag information in traditional Chinese and the information displays on my Zen Micro without any problems. If you are using WinXP then you don't need a Chinese version - English WinXP is capable of displaying and manipulating Chinese data. Note that on WinXP you need to set default character set for non-unicode characters to either traditional or simplified Chinese, this setting should match the setting on your Zen Micro or you'll end up with gibberish.

  • Creative Zen Micro - Need Help - Ba

i was given a going away party a couple of days ago and i recieved a zen micro without any cables or power adapter etc. I've spent all of today finding software and downloading it but everytime i put it into my pc though usb it says i cant get firmware or any of the software because noportable device can be foundwhenever i turn on my mp3 player the creative symbol comes up and then it jsut seems to freeze.....if i push and hold the power button after i have turned it on i can get into some sort of recovery thing but whenever i choose any of the options it freezes then too......what do i do ?

it sounds like youve been given a faulty player. have a search in the forum for it freezing at start up as this is quite a common problem, but to be honest i think your stuck, if none of the rescue mode functions work then theres not much you can do and you cant get creative to do it as its not in warrenty and u dont have proof of purchse, im guessing. thus you could try and get them to fix it, for a fee probably $80 or something like that.but e-mail customer suport and see what they recoment about returing it, if you explain your situation.
