Offline Processing Credit Card

Since the secure PDF, which is used to supply the secure CC info to the vendor, no longer includes the CCV that payment forms collect, the Payment Gateway selection of Offline Processing (Process Manually Via Existing Facility) no longer makes any sense to offer as an option. CCV is needed to process credit card by many virtual terminals, including the one in BC itself. The problem is that BC never made an extra effort to notify business owners or partners to be aware of this change. Instead, it just released a document http://helpx.adobe.com/business-catalyst/kb/offline-processing-changes---post.html, which mentions the change in PDF delivery but not the change in the PDF content. If you ask the BC support about it, they will point you to the document http://helpx.adobe.com/business-catalyst/partner/setting-process-offline-payment-gateway.h tml which at the very end mentions that Business Catalyst does not collect CVV, CVV2, CVC2 & CID as per PCI standards. This may be legally satisfying buy practically useless. Which business owner or partner reads every document that BC publishes? As a consequence, business owners who were using offline payments were all of a sudden not able to process the payments they had received through online sales. Instead, they had to contact each one of their payees and request the CCV over the phone or e-mail.
BC should find a way to include the CCV and find a better way to inform business owners when making changes that impacts payment collections. Is it stands now, the Offline Payment is not practical to use and can create problems of which business owners are not aware of unless they stumbled on the article I pointed out above.

Tried it ... but does not work on submit!  ...
I can  get the auto- populate to work on my custom CCV field OK ... ( it looks great before submit! )
but when I summit ...  the info is wiped!
here's the script I used :
<script type="text/javascript">
    jQuery("#CardCCV").blur(function(){
        jQuery("#CCV").val(jQuery("#CardCCV").val());
</script>
Any suggestions?

  • Processing credit card transactions using iExpenses disconnected spreadshee

    Hi,
    Does anyone know whether the disconnected spreadsheet for iExpenses also works for credit card transactions as well as out of pocket expenses? The implementation guide hints that this is possible for doesn't give any specific details. My guess is that outstanding credit card transactions will be included on the expense report when a user downloads a new spreadsheet - can anyone confirm that?
    Also, is anyone aware of any known issues processing credit card transactions this way?
    Many thanks,
    David

  • Process credit cards in shopping cart

    I have been asked to set up a shopping cart for a small
    non-profit website. I plan to use Mals for the shopping cart. Sales
    would be minimal (estimate $1-3 thousand) and seasonal. The
    organization does not have the capability to process credit cards
    on its own. They do not want to accept credit cards via Pay Pal.
    Has anyone used an online credit card process service that you
    would recommend?
    Thanks!

    All are 'expensive', but I've had good luck with
    Authorize.net.
    Why not PayPal? It's very simple....

  • I'm trying to purchase a free app and my cc keeps declining.... It always works but now it's asking me for information and saying they are unable to process credit cards .. Can someone help?

    II'm trying to download an app that's free.  it keeps sending me to my credit card information and at first it said it declined, now it's saying it's unable to process credit cards at the moment and to try later. Is this normal? Can someone help please?

    Periodically when you purchase anything from iTunes or download a free app it reverifies your credit card. A "declined" message comes from your card issuer; iTunes Store is just a passthrough of that message. So you need to contact your issuer to resolve it. Although at the moment it sounds like the problem is with your issuer's network.

    I was having this exact issue when I was set up to use PayPal as my payment method. I fixed it by -
    1. going to my iTunes account and selecting None as my method of payment, then clicking Done
    2. confirming this on my account page - which then said Add (or Set up, I can't remember) a Credit Card
    3. on the Add a credit card page, I again set up the exact same PayPal account I had before.
    4. I was then taken to the PayPal website to confirm that I wanted to use my PayPal account for iTunes purchases, and finally
    5. I was taken back to my account page in iTunes, which looked exactly the same as before BUT...
    The next time I tried it, my purchase went straight through! (And this was less than 5 minutes after I'd had the "Credit Card processing is temporarily unavailable" message.)
    YMMV, but I guess a similar revalidation process would work for credit cards too.

  • ITunes can't process credit card purchases??

    I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to purchase some music since Friday, but have been unable to do so. I keep getting a message about the iTunes store not being able to process credit card purchases at this time. What is going on? Is anyone else having this problem or am I the only one? I know my credit card works, so it can't be that. SOME ONE HELP!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!

    Well, I guess I have a similar problem. I downloaded about 21 tunes today, and only two of them got paid for with my Pay Pal account. The others are just sitting there, saying they're being paid for by a credit card. WHICH credit card? I don't remember authorizing iTunes to use any of my credit cards. I have $15 credit from a redeemed gift card, so why can't I use that to pay?
    I do have a "backup" credit card on my Pay Pal account, but it's been deactivated because an ATM ate the card two weeks ago.
    Any help?

  • I recently switched to an iMac after 25  years on PCs.  I run a business that I have always used Quickbooks for, and I process credit cards through it.  Quickbooks for Mac is horrendous.  Does anyone know of a good sub for my purposes?

    I need to find something that will do the job Quickbooks did on the PC- keep my books, do invoicing and process credit cards (in Quickbooks this is done through Merchant Services- works great on a PC but doesn't work well at all with a Mac.)  Help!  I need both a new software and a coordinating credit card service.

    Visit MacUpdate or CNET Downloads and search for bookkeeping or accounting programs. There are dozens of them you will find. This should include a couple of Quicken products such as Quicken Essentials 1.7.2. One that is well-liked is SEE Finance 0.9.14.5.

  • Can I purchase an IPad Air in the USA and use it in Canada to process credit card sales?

    Can I purchase an IPad Air in the USA and use it in Canada to process credit card sales?

    It will work in Canada, but if you purchase a WiFi+Cellular model I'm not sure that the warranty would be honored in Canada. If you live it Canada, it would be better to purchase your iPad there.

  • Offline payment processing credit card payments failing

    Hey guys...I've been struggling with this strange behavior on a clients site that I just can't seem to figure out.  It's a basic shop through and through and we're using offline processing for his payments.  I've never had any issues with this before but for whatever reason, everytime a user fills out the registration for purchase form, I'm getting a credit card processing failure error.
    The gateway is setup properly, the form is using the Credit Card Processing (ie: NOT update CC info) fields, and no fields are missing.  I'm baffled.  Any ideas?

    nevermind...I was using options for a select fieldset that had different values than what BC uses...stupid mistake

  • Processing Credit Card refunds-not using SD, posting CC pymts thru Lockbox

    I have tried to search the forums, all of them, for this issue but have not been able to find a solution.  I have not specifically checked the OSS notes.  Here is our situation.  We use our proprietary system to do our credit card processing and then we import the sales information through an IDOC into SAP to create the customer open invoices.  Once we receive payment from our processor,  our system is configured to load the payments through the Lockbox programming.  The only issue we have with this is that we cannot load any refunds, credits,  that might have been issued to customers through lockbox. Right now, we have an LSMW set up but this is very time consuming for our IT department and we would like to see if there is a better solution with SAP.

  • Firefox will not process credit card 3D authentication - but IE will. Why?

    Credit Card payments and on line purchases that require the 3D authentication process, fail, when using MFirefox.
    This doesnt happen when using IExplorer. From memory, earlier versions [before Firefox 4- or possibly earlier still ] didnt have this problem. Can this be fixed in a future update?

    > Can this be fixed in a future update?
    I really think it’s more urgent than a nebulous "future update". It’s a showstopper for anybody buying online with MasterCard or Visa
    And it’s a timewaster because having completed an online purchase (or so you think) you don’t get a confirmation with the order details. So you have to phone the seller and check whether the transaction has gone through, and phone your bank to ask whether they can see the credit card transaction. Only if both say no can you try to order again
    I know, I’ve done this several times over the last week before I discovered the Firefox fault, I naively thought it must be an error at the credit card company...

  • What is the mechanism behind processing credit card payment on net?

    Excuse my ignorance, i just completely dont have any knowledge about it. Here is what i thought: when a customer submit his/her credit card information on a e-commerce site, the site's server will make remote request to Bank's(?) server, which would verify the information user has provided, payment would be proceeded if those information is correct and sends message back to the e-commerce site's server. Or if the payment cant not be proceeded, the e-commerce site's server receives error message possibly saying the user's credit card info can not by verified. someone plz correct me if there are any mistake.
    So, how can i simulate this mechanism on a single pc? What i thought was i need to set up a db on mysql which simulates the bank's db, stores people's credit card info. For the e-commerce site i run on Tomcat, i may set up db connection(JDBC) to this db and verify user's credit card info. But i dont think this is how it works in reality, isn it? It would be possibly using java RMI(i am just guessing, havent digged into this area yet) to complete the task. So, if this is the case, can i simulate it on a single pc? Or do i have to phycially have two PCs, have both of them connected to my house's LAN, one runs e-commerce website on tomcat, the other runs mysql db server, then i can start simulating it by using java RMI? This is just something i've been wondering these day. As the uni's long holiday getting closer, i am thinking of giving myself a project gotta be something like this, so i would not get bored during the holidays. I really wish someone would explain me some ideas. Many many thanks...

    If you're asking if you can run the database server on
    the same machine as Tomcat, yes you can. (Although in
    a real e-commerce site, that would be less secure than
    having the database server behind a firewall.)
    yes, i am runing both mysql db and Tomcat on my pc. So, i am wondering that i could possibly set up two separate databases, one holds data for whatever e-commerce site i am going to build, and the other simulates the bank's database that stores peope's credit card information, which can be accessed by the e-commerce site's JSP pages thru RMI for the purpose of validating credit card information. On the other hand, honestly, i am even asking myself what's the point or purpose of doing it in such a way? In fact, this is one of my subjects' project, that we've been given much flexibility about the way we simulate/implement the interaction between e-commerce site and bank's database. The goal is just trying to make it as close to what's happening in reality as possible. I was thinking of just creating a table that holds users' credit card information and put it with other e-commerce's site db tables altogether. But that just sounds like too far away from how it is done in reality, doesnt it? That's why i came up with the above ideas, what still not sure if it's proper way of doing it. Jesus, i am missed....
    If you are asking how an e-commerce site really
    interacts with a bank for credit card validation, I
    have no idea. But you could simulate that with a
    database, although I'm pretty sure the real method
    doesn't involve JDBC or RMI or any Java-specific
    technology.so, does anyone have ideas about how it is implemented in real life?
    many many thanks...
