Offline windows 8

hi there, im wondering if anybody can help me.
I bought the HP envy 5532 a week ago and installed it and printing was fine. However this last couple of days whenever i try and print it says 'offline'. I have printed reports countless of times, reset up and its still not working and i am ready to scream.
thanks in advance

 Hi @xbeeksx ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP ENVY 5532 e Printer and getting the error printer offline in Windows 8. Here is a link to the HP Print and Scan Doctor. The HP Print and Scan Doctor will run a check on your system and help with the Wireless on the printer.
Here is a document on printing a Network Configuration page. It will tell you if the Printer is connected correctly.
I would turn the Printer off and back on again. Sometimes this fixes things right up.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

  • HP LaserJet Pro 200 color Printer Offline - Windows 8.1

    Hello:
This subject appears to re-appear a lot, but I am getting nowhere in how to fix it.  I have tried various steps recommended on how to resolve this, but it is not working consistently.
    I have 3 PC's:  2 desktops and 1 laptop running Windows 8.1.
I have a wireless network with WEP encription.  I have connected the printer to the network.  The printer IP config is set to channel 6.  The firmware date code is 20121026.
Every time I try to print, the printer is offline.  Sometimes I can fix this by removing the printer from the device listings and then scanning for new printers.  When I do this, it will print for the session I am using the computer, but soon afterwards it goes offline again.
When I plug a computer directly to the printer, it usually works, but not always.
It seems to me that this is a PC driver problem - not the printer, but I am not sure.
    Thanks,
    Scott Nichos

    Thanks for clarifying Scott,
From the printer front panel, click the Setup icon and then tap the Service option.
Select Laserjet Update and then press on Check for Updates now
Allow the printer to complete the task till the update completes.
If the update fails or the device show that the latest update is already installed, temporary connect the printer to your PC with a USB and then update the firmware by running this tool.. be sure to select the newly added USB queue and not the existing network queue:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=lj-108129-6&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...
Once the update completes, the firmware datecode should appear as 20140521.

  • HP LaserJet P1102w - printer offline - Windows Vista ??

We have a new HP printer LaserJet P1102w and my laptop has Windows Vista.  I am unable to print - message is always "printer offline" - can anyone assist with how to fix this issue.  I would appreciate any help - we are totally unable to use this pirnter.  Thanks!

    Hello,
According to the information you provided, it is really difficult to diagnostic the issue. But there are several things may good for you to check:
    1. Did the printer work before? If yes, you may seeking what' the difference may lead to this offline issue.
    2. How do you connect P1102w to your PC? I suggest that you use USB connection to test
    3. If you connect it via wireless, could you double check whether the router working fine?
    4. Please make sure the printer is power on and connected to the PC successfully, otherwise "offline" is the accurate status for it.
    Hope it helps.

  • Offline windows 8 flaw

Hello, I recently found a flaw in windows 8 security. Offline you cannot log in to your computer. It says to use the latest password that was on your Microsoft account, I used it, didn't work, I used the last 3 passwords I've had, none of them worked...I
have paid ALOT of money for a laptop I cant log into if its offline? I CANT USE MY LAPTOP NOW!!!!! I'm locked out of it. Please either tell me 1. how to log into my computer offline, or 2. Give me the $595.00 I spent on my laptop with windows 8 and you take
this piece of garbage back. at least then I could get a laptop that is non Microsoft ad I may be able to log into it. I want compensated somehow for the loss of my pictures, settings, personal info, etc... I am really upset by this.

  • Offline files window shows drive name but no files to reconnect

I recently upgraded to Final Cut Studio 2 in the middle of a project (I know, broke the golden rule) but I had backed up my whole system drive so that was OK, install went fine. Now whenever I open the project, the "some Files are offline" window pops up and under "Files to Reconnect" there is the name of the main Scratch drive but no files to reconnect. Any ideas how to stop this happening? It doesn't seem to hinder the editing process but it's a bug I could do without. Just annoying more than anything.

Before clicking on "Reconnect", check the box that offers you to "Forget" the files. there may be 2 - one for media and one for render files.
Nothing like that. Just the drive name "BYTE:" and lots of blank space
PS And change your autosave to 5 minutes until you are sure FCP6 is stable on your system. On mine I have regular crashes. Also get the updates: I think we're on 6.0.2 by now.
Yes I'm up to the latest version 6.0.3 and I will change Autosave prefs to 5 mins good idea. I've actually pretty much finished the film. Taken 5 years so has been through several versions of FCP

  • Timeline Saying Clips are Offline, when Browser Shows Clips to be OK

I have a few clips in my timeline that fews the OFFLINE WINDOW. Yet when I check my browser, the clips have no offline slash and can be seen as edited in the canvas. How do I make the clips show normally on the timeline. Also clips are trying to show the actual clip photo, bu only show half. And yes I have tried reconnecting the media, does not work.
    Thanks

Trash your thumbnail cache file... it's location is set in the Scratch Disk Settings near the bottom of the window if you don't know where you've put them... just trash them and the offline media thumbnails will go away. It's caused by opening a project file without the media online, then saving it. The thumbnails don't get rewritten with the proper pictures when you do that.

I don't recall installing any 3rd parth USB drivers and this comptuer is an older Lenovo ThinkCenter that only has USB 2 ports.
I used devcon driverfiles *  > hardware.txt to export all of the hardware and driver files in use on my system and did not find any reference to
    usbxhci.inf
    Any suggestions ?
    Naim

    Thank you for the link.
I tried the windows upate repair but that did not fix the issue. I also manualy run the sfc /scannow and now errors were found
I found that the driver updates are logged in file setupapi.dev.log,  Where I can see more errors that relate to usbxhci.inf, this occurs at the same time as the cbs.log errors.

  • Windows 8.1 WDS Installation cannot continue because a required driver could not be installed.

When i try to deploy a custom Windows 8.1 Pro Image Via WDS I get the above error. I have enabled Client side logging and checked WDS logs and install logs on the failed installation (Shift+F10). I don't think the issue is a matter of the drivers that are
included in the boot image. If it were a network card issue i would not be able to get the WINPE on the network and start the install. Second i don't think its a storage driver issue, WINPE has formatted the Drive as one may see in  (Shift F10) DISKPART.
If it were a storage driver, it would not see the drive and would not format. I am starting to thing that this may be a Windows 8/8.1 Kernel issue that i have found referenced in other forums.
That Said, I still injected my drivers into WDS then into my boot image, i was unable to do some drivers that were unsigned in WDS so i added them in DISM directly to the images. I forced the unsigned drivers so they could be added. I injected the drivers into
my install and boot image. and still nothing. I then went back and removed, via DISM, all third party drivers from my boot and install image and it's still giving me the error. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can upload logs if needed.

    Hi wkingswt,
In addition, please confirm image file source, prevent capturing yourself or got from faulty image or installation media.
please make sure using right version Windows PE, extract Windows PE from Windows 8.1 installation media.
    Check following precautions
First Signed device drivers are a key security feature in Windows. Drivers that are installed on x64-based computers must have a digital signature. If you're adding multiple drivers, you should create separate folders for each driver or driver category.
This makes sure that there are no conflicts when you add drivers that have the same file name.
Also, as a workarround Adding Device Drivers to an Offline Windows Image also is an option.
You could find setup logs from the client computer by referring to following article, and see which driver failed to install.

  • Offline dev licence not working

Have been struggling with this for weeks now. No choice but to ask for help!
I can't get any kind of offline development setup working.
Following the guide called: "Sideload Apps with DISM" http://technet.microsoft.com/en-GB/library/hh852635.aspx
I should be able to develop Unified apps on an offline Windows machine. But I can't get it to work. My system is currently Windows 8.1 Enterprise connected to a 2012R2 server Domain, so the guide should work.
The problem is that whenever I create a new unified project in visual studio, it wrongly asks me to go online for a license and refuses to build the project.
(Can't post any screenshots until my forum account is verified)
    Any help?

I still don't seem to be able to post images or links. I had intended to show you in the original post exactly what I have done. So let's try an ugly 3rd party solution to get the images up..
http://s16.postimg.org/tcy30qicl/Capture1.jpg    (used gpedit.msc to manually set the settings identically on both the local box and the domain controller) (screenshot is from box, but domain server is the same)
http://s23.postimg.org/lh6mtw1rf/Capture2.jpg    (regedit same on local box and domain controller) (screenshot is from box, but domain server is the same)
http://s10.postimg.org/ld16z2g7t/Capture3.jpg    (local box. Yes, it is on the domain)
http://s15.postimg.org/3v1atqbez/Capture4.jpg    (local box error message - missing license)
I was hoping that the thing I have done wrong will be entirely obvious from the first of the screenshots to someone familiar with gpedit stuff.
Visual Studio version: The license is not specific to Visual Studio. It is possible to use powershell to request a license online and to inspect the current license without visual studio installed. So I included the Powershell 'license inspection' command
to show it isn't a Visual Studio version problem. I am using Visual Studio 2012 R2, I am not online (by definition) so I can't use automatic update. I don't think it is a VS version thing, but I will look for an update file if they do them.
The box is "Windows 8.1 Update 1 Enterprise X64". All the sideloading stuff is different between enterprise and pro, 8 and 8.1. It seems like a huge mess. I picked 8.1 Enterprise as the guide seemed to pick it out as the simplest working solution.

  • How Can I Open Nikon D750 RAW with CS6, which runs fine on Windows XP

Successfully installed PhotoShop CS6 disks 6 mos ago on my offline Windows XP Computer (Did this via Adobe Phone support, which seems to be no longer available.)
Just bought Nikon D750 and thinking I may need an update for the CS6 PhotoShop RAW File Converter.
I've heard the patch won't run on an XP machine, which seems odd to me since the program runs on it with no problems.
Is there a way to try to download this patch on one computer (laptop) and install it on the other computer ("workstation"), which has the CS6 installed?
    Related question:
If I have to buy a new computer  : ) will I be able to run those CS6 disks on that computer with the new operating system, along with the D750 converter?
Feel like I am caught in no man's land.

  • Windows PE: UFD not listed in diskpart

I've used the instructions provided by Microsoft's Building a Standard Image of Windows 7: Step-by-Step Guide.
I can successfully boot from UFD to Windows PE.
Once booted into Windows PE, when running diskpart command and then
list disk my UFD does not show up. The only thing I see is the local hard disk.
I have tried this with multiple UFDs and booted onto multiple machines (desktops and laptops) from multiple manufacturers and in multiple USB ports. Another thing to note is that if I open notepad, and then browse to open a document, the UFD shows up but
only with 300MB regardless of actual size.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi
First, avoid USB 3.0 ports if the firmware doesn't contain native support for USB 3.0. Disable USB 3.0 from BIOS if supporting and try boot windows PE.
And some users reported that WinPE boots fine but the USB stick it booted from does not show up as a drive unless remove the stick and reinsert it, or assign a drive letter to it. You might give it a try.
If the issue still persists, we think the button is driver loading.
You might need to inject drivers into windows PE.
About how to add Device Drivers on an Offline Windows PE Image
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd799289(v=ws.10).aspx
Also we recommend you try rebuilding a Windows PE 5.1 by using Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit (Windows ADK) and give it a try.

  • Can iOS/Android play protected media offline?

I'm working on a system that will provide offline access to DRM protected video on tablet devices. In discussions with Adobe it was suggested we could use Adobe Media Server to encrypt files for Protected HDS / Protected HLS, then download those files into our application for later offline playback. Looking around the documentation and discussions, I can't really see where to start, beyond finding phds_policy.pol which would set the required protection level.
Can an AIR application play back a locally stored copy of a protected HDS (or HLS) video?
If so, do we have to transform the manifest file to reference a locally stored key?
Does this work on iOS and Android?

Usually the problem came up for me when I imported files from an exterior hard drive.  I just had my whole project turn to the red "Media Offline" window. These files were imported directly from my camera.  My computer didn't go offline.
    Michael,
I am not sure where these particular media files were located, when Imported. It seems that they were on an external HDD, but then I am not certain of that.
When a file is Imported into PrPro, a link to the original file is created, and this link is an absolute Path, in that every aspect of it's location, name, etc., MUST be maintained, or the link will be broken, and then the Media will show as Media Offline. In PC-speak, the HDD's drive letter must be maintained, exactly as it was, at the time of Import. In Mac-speak, that is the Volume. Being a PC-only guy, I am not sure of all variables on a Mac for Volume names, so you will have to investigate that aspect. However, if any part of the Path (probably goes by a different name on the Mac) changes, one must manually re-link via the new Path.
Can you give us the complete details on where the files were, when Imported, and then any change that might have taken place?
    Thank you, and good luck,
    Hunt

    /Cleanup-Image /RevertPendingActions
WARNING! You should use the /RevertPendingActions option only in a
system-recovery scenario to perform recovery operations on a Windows image
      that did not boot.
        Example:
          DISM.exe /Image:C:\test\offline /Cleanup-Image /RevertPendingActions
    /Cleanup-Image /spsuperseded [/hidesp]
Use /SPSuperseded to remove any backup files created during the installation
of a service pack. Use /HideSP to prevent the service pack from being listed
in the Installed Updates for the operating system.
WARNING! The service pack cannot be uninstalled after the /SPSuperseded
      operation is completed.
        Example:
          DISM.exe /Image:C:\test\offline /Cleanup-Image /spsuperseded /hidesp
    /Cleanup-Image {/CheckHealth | /ScanHealth | /RestoreHealth}
Use /CheckHealth to check whether the image has been flagged as corrupted
by a failed process and whether the corruption can be repaired.
Use /ScanHealth to scan the image for component store corruption.
Use /RestoreHealth to scan the image for component store corruption, and
      then perform repair operations automatically.
Use /Source with /RestoreHealth to specify the location of known good
versions of files that can be used for the repair. For more information on
      specifying a source location, see
      http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=243077.
Use /LimitAccess to prevent DISM from contacting WU/WSUS.
        Example:
          DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
          DISM.exe /Image:c:\offline /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
          /Source:c:\test\mount
    /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup [/ResetBase]
Use /StartComponentCleanup to clean up the superseded components and reduce
the size of the component store. Use /ResetBase to reset the base of
superseded components, which can further reduce the component store size.
WARNING!  The installed Windows Updates cannot be uninstalled after the
/StartComponentCleanup with /ResetBase operation is completed.
        Example:
          DISM.exe /Image:C:\test\offline /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
    /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore
Use /AnalyzeComponentStore to create a report of the WinSxS component store.
For more information about the WinSxS report and how to use the information
      provided in the report, see
      http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=293367.
        Example:
          DISM.exe /Image:C:\test\offline /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore
    C:\WINDOWS\system32>DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
