My machine got restarted with event 1074 and source user32
Hi Expert,
One of our employee's computer got restarted while working. While checking the event log's under SYSTEM i found only this sustable event for restart.
Event ID - 1074
Source - USer32
The process setup.exe has initiated the restart of computer PTD09487 on behalf of user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM for the following reason: No title for this reason could be found
Reason Code: 0x2
Shutdown Type: restart
Comment:
1. How can i find out what set.exe was runned or who initiated it ?
2. What does this event id means other than restart ?
3. what more option should i check to know why this restart took place ?
4. If this has happend due to Windows update. How can confirm that there was a message show to user for restart ? Because normally in our GPO we have configured to display restarting msg to user before 30 mins .
Please Let me know if i posted in wrong forum.Hi,
If this situation occur for Windows Update, user will receive a restart message.

How Often to Restart an ECC 6.0 Instance?
Hi,
I have notice that after a few weeks the buffers start swapping a lot in ST02 in our production instance application servers. The only way I know to fix this is to restart the instance. 1. Is there a way to clear/defragment the buffers without restarting? 2. How often should the instances be restarted? Our plants run 24x7 so downtime is hard to come by.
Our buffer parameters are set according to SAP Earlywatch recommendations.
Thank you,
ShelbyHi,
/$sync it will reset the buffer as well as number ranges too. so i recomend /$TAB instead of /$Sync.
/$TAB will just reset the buffer without restarting the system.

How often to restart UCCX services?
Hi,
Is there Cisco documentation on how often services should be restarted, or the entire cluster be restarted? The reason why I ask is that we have services running for 588 days since the deployment of our UCCX cluster. I have restarted various services here and there to resolve certain issues, but have not restarted the whole cluster and I think it's due time. I'm a little nervous about it, to be quite honest. Any insight?
Thank you very much.Hi Sergio,
I would again stand by the fact that a reboot is not necessary until a problem has been identified and the root cause is known to be resolved by the reboot.
Well, if you ask me the procedure to reboot a cluster in a HA environment, then
(Assuming your UCCX Version is 8.x and above)
++ Reboot Node 1
++ Wait for all the services to come up. You can monitor by the CLI "utils service list".
++ Once they are STARTED, reboot node 2.
++ Wait for the all the services to come up
++ Check for the services under Cisco Unified CCX Serviceability -- Tools -- Control Center Network Services
++ Also good idea, to check the replication from Cisco Unified CCX Serviceability -- Tools -- Datastore Control Center -- Replication Servers. The status for both the nodes should be 'Connected' and 'Active'
Also, a good idea would be to use the release notes of the UCCX version that you are running on and find if there are any known issues which involved a reboot as the solution.

Why my iphone often automatically restart ????
Hello everybody. Pls tell me the reason why my IP4s often restart automatically. I do not jailbreak or crack it.
I tried resets and everything as well as replacement phone from apple, each step not helping one bit!
Had about 5 or more restarts in early december (I started logging them). However it has been over a month since the last restart!
This was all on 7.0.4 and just discovered 7.0.5 is out so will see what that does to it...
But for me, time was the only thing to fix it, either that or possibly certain apps weren't programmed correctly and now their individual updates are all working properly. -
Please helpe me!!!
I just got the new iphone 5s less than two weeks ago. And before that my mom had recently gotten the iphone 4s. SO just today I plugged my iphone into my computer and allowed it to 'trust' my computer, and to resgister my iphone on my compuet. So it restared my iphone and now i don't have any of my pictures. And now under imessage and facetime my mothers number comes up with all her contacts and messages. Even thouhg under phone i have my number... PLEASE HELP ME!!!!It is not so clear :/ but in order to have an independant id on facetime and so; you need to have another apple ID signed in on your PC
You can change between accounts or have tow account signed in on tow different user account -
When i updated OS X Mavericks i got restart problems, help me to fixed it

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)Mid-2010 15" MacBook Pros - the bad NVIDIA GPU
If you're having frequent kernel panics with your 15" mid-2010, or intermittent screen problems, the problem is, more than likely, the faulty NVIDIA GPU found in a number of those machines.
Here's just a sample of a kernel panic log that points to the faulty NVIDIA card:
Kernel Extensions in backtrace (with dependencies):
com.apple.GeForce(6.4.0)@0x82ac4000->0x82b7afff
dependency: com.apple.NVDAResman(6.4.0)@0x834a0000
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONDRVSupport(2.2.1)@0x82fd3000
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.6.5)@0x7a802000
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily(2.2.1)@0x8301b000
com.apple.nvidia.nv50hal(6.4.0)@0x83c05000->0x84019fff
dependency: com.apple.NVDAResman(6.4.0)@0x834a0000
com.apple.NVDAResman(6.4.0)@0x834a0000->0x8378dfff
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily(2.6.5)@0x7a802000
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IONDRVSupport(2.2.1)@0x82fd3000
dependency: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily(2.2.1)@0x8301b000
Here's the "official" Apple take on the issue - but the very real kernel panics need not be preceded by 'Intermittent black screen or loss of video'... in fact, you might not experience any video problems at all. Although video problems can certainly be a portent of things to come…
So what can you do? Print out a copy of your kernel panic and a copy of the Knowledge Base article and take them, along with your machine, to your local Apple Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. The unfortunate thing is that many people have passed the “three years from date of purchase” now and Apple is not honoring the free logic board replacement for many users. Some dealers seem to be making some exceptions for those past the three year mark, but don’t count on it…
Good luck,

i ve got an iphone 3gs and im having a trouble with its touch screen because when you sometimes tap it doesent respond?
Often a Restart and a Reset will resolve these issues...
iPhone Reset
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
Try this First... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the Phone Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
Turn the Phone On... -
I use two 23" apple cinemas displays with my MacPro. Several times in the past, when I've restarted the computer one of the monitor is flickering as soon as it powers up. One of those times I shut the computer down again right away and restarted and the problem went away. Another time it stopped after sitting for a while. But it has just happened again....and this time, no matter how often I restart, or how long I've let it sit, the monitor continues to flicker. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hey SGOWriter1,
I found a document that can help with external display issues. I would concentrate on the troubleshooting steps in the "No video or no signal, image distortion, "snow," or flickering" section:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays

Oracle DB Restart Performance Issues
Hi ,
When we try to restart the database we are not able to restart So we changed the following values
db_cache_size
java_pool_size
large_pool_size
optimizer_mode From Choose to First_rows
pga_aggregate_target
sga_max_size
shared_pool_size.
Database Got restarted . But Now Database is up and running. Issue is that SQL Statements/Stored Procedures are running for Long time.
Do we need to fine tune these parameters again. Please advice
Database Version : Oracle 9i
Database Size 10GB
Transactions: 5,000/Day

... Issue is that SQL Statements/Stored Procedures are running for Long time.Right now, you are not able to figure out what change make your database slow, nothing surprising in fact.
Rollback all your changes and try again one by one, based on facts (statspack).
But first of all, reply to the first question above.

IMac G4 will not restart after OS X 10.4.6 upgrade
I have manually upgraded my iMac G4 with downloaded upgrades from 10.4.1 up to 10.4.6 PPC. Each upgrade I sucessfully restarted the computer. After the 10.4.6 upgrade the computer now comes up with the grey/blue screen with the apple image in the centre and the little circle of lines going around ... endlessly!!
Does anyone have any suggestions. I know the remaining memory space is low.Hi there...
Well, you need to make free space on the computer's hard disk drive.
And it would help if you could get that large 10.4.11 Combo download
and then consider wiping everything off the computer so as to install
a fresh new complete system on a zeroed and reformatted hard disk
drive. An archive of all the stuff in your computer, to an external would
be a plus. A clone could be helpful, so as to contain all the stuff at once.
But you are a bit beyond that at this point... prevention is always best!
Between software updates, upgrades, installs; etc. it is good to restart
the computer (as it will prompt you to, and you often have little choice)
and also run 'repair disk permissions' from the System's Disk Utility.
Each time. Often, I restart a computer or start it up, and hold the Shift
key down in order to get it to SafeBoot. Then log in, and choose Disk
Utility in the Utilities folder, from GO in the Finder menu. Launch D.U.
and choose 'repair disk permissions' and after it runs, quit that & restart.
At this time, you may need to see if you can start up the computer from
the Mac OS X 10.4 installer disc and in the second Installer screen,
when a main Installer Menu bar appears, choose from the top bar to
get Utilities, and run Disk Utility from there. Run 'repair disk' until you
get a clean report; and then run 'repair disk permissions' too. Then
you can also see if SMART reports the status of the hard disk drive
as pass or satisfactory, or some bad message indicating failure.
Exit Disk Utility (in the booted 10.4 installer's disc) and choose from
the same menu in the header's menubar to select Startup Disk; use
this to try and see if the computer's system can run the computer.
At this point, I've also invoked SafeBoot and when the computer
finally restarts (after using utility from boot disc) and again use the
Disk Utility on the computer's system to 'repair disk permissions'
and then quit D.U. and restart again. You can remove the boot
installer disc any time possible, once you are done trying to repair
the hard disk drive and the basic permissions. A mouse-button held
on startup can force that Installer disc out.
Hopefully these ideas, out of sequence a little, aren't confusing.
Good luck & happy computing! -

Edited by: 860011 on 2011-5-19 上午2:08yesterday afternoon I created a new database named test, now I find that the original database didn't get restarted last night, but the new database got restarted about two hours after I created. It's so strange!
The following are the logs of the database test:
