Often there is an instruction; "Restart Firefox" But I've never learned how to Restart Firefox.
Often I've been following a set of instructions for updating or resolving some problem. At the end of the instructions comes the final instruction: "Restart Firefox." I'm always mystified because I've never been able to learn exactly how one is supposed to "Restart Firefox."
Your instructions seem to imply that this is so elementary, that no further explanation is required.
I'm sorry, but I've tried very hard, many times, over several years, but have never been able to find any information about how one is supposed to "Restart Firefox.
Note that you also can use the Developer Toolbar to restart Firefox.
*Web Developer > Developer toolbar (Shift+F2)
Pressing the 'r' should bring up an help menu where you can click the restart entry.

Many complaints in ASK QUESTIONS about getting rid of iMesh in a browser, but no answer is provided. Please instruct your users how to get rid of this program. I got the install information from iMesh directly but my browser will not clear it, even if I change my home page. It's an impossible program to get rid of. This can't be legal. Thanks,
Lucille Hunt
Mack Avenue Records.Hi St. Peter. Thanks for your advice. I tried entering firefox.exe as you suggeted, but got the Just Ask Jeeves page again. You suggested uninstalling Just Ask Jeeves, but I`m not sure how to go about this since it doesn`t appear in my programmes. Thanks for your help.

I use a Imac with OS 10.6.7. I've just uploaded Firefox 4. I had Firefox 3 already but do not use it often. I've been using Safari. I imported bookmarks from Safari to Firefox, but the bookmarks bar in Firefox did not change to match that of Safari, and that's where the important bookmarks are. Any ideas?
Also, I can't find where to choose Firefox as my default browser.Copy the files from the old Profile into the new Profile, replacing the existing files that are in the new Profile. That will make your new installation just like the old one.
Or if you just want your bookmarks, copy only the '''places.sqlite''' file from the old Profile into the new Profile. -

It's impossible to make certain modification to the content on your iPod if it is not connected to a computer. In fact, just about the only thing you can do from the iPod is rate your music.
If you want complete control, just tell the iPod to manage music manually and you can move things in and delete them as you please.
The reason the iPod works like this is pretty simple, Apple figures that allowing the user to delete music from the iPod all willy-nilly would make the iPod more complex, and therefore more confusing.
But honestly, do you need to delete the podcasts from your iPod RIGHT AFTER you've listened to them? What's the deal with the urgent need to make more space? Unless you're doing transfers from a camera (and I seriously doubt you are) you can just delete them the next time you plug the iPod into your computer. -
I have a new MacBook Pro. I am using firefox version 7.0.1, but my homepage is set to google. Firefox constantly keeps opening new tabs to its own homepage by itself. How can I disable this feature.
Hi [email protected]
If you have set Google to be your homepage, that should be the first one to appear. Are you seeing the Firefox home page when you open new tabs? New tabs should be blank by default. The only reason I've seen Firefox open new tabs with Firefox data on it is after an upgrade of the product. -
I have checked in my control panel for firefox it states that i have firefox version 3.6.8
Your UserAgent string in Firefox is messed up by another program that you installed.
type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter
''If you see the warning, you can confirm that you want to access that page.''
Filter = '''general.useragent.'''
Right-click the preferences that are '''bold''', one line at a time, and select '''''Reset''''',
Then restart Firefox -
I am using a word document, converting to html and I am not seeing my animated image. No problem in IE 9 and I wouldn't think it would be a problem in Firefox.
Am working on a webpage with some animated gifs in it. Everything works fine when it is loaded up, the images display and animate continuously. But these gifs may be updated on the server. I have some javascript that checks if the gifs have been updated by checking the modified meta data. If it has that image is reloaded. this works fine and the new image is brought up but that animation is never started. it just sits there on the first frame.
works as planned in chrome. it also worked as planned in FF9 but does not in FF12 -
Also, I see that Acrobat X Pro does not install all plugins. There are several that I want shown as not installed. But how can I get these installed, as there is no button to say "install this"??
Got a partial fix - In Firefox, the Adobe PDF Toolbar gets installed in "Disabled" mode. To enable, go to "Tools->Add-ons->Extensions", select "Adobe Acrobat - Create PDF" and enable it.
Now, as for the rest of the Acrobat plugins, I'm still trying to find a way to enable them. Any ideas? -
My webpage is fine in the IE browser but in Firefox, I have lost the white background and part of the text/tables. I understand that Firefox is more exact with coding. Is there a way in DW3 I can check to see what I am missing and try and fix?
This is a first time post for me and I am a graphic designer by trade. Any help would be appreciated.

You say "DW3" but I assume that you mean DWCS3 - is that correct?
Anyhow, to diagnose anything, we'd need to see your page (live) and its underlying code. Can you post a link for us to examine? -
Firefox is giving me issues to where it crashes at supposedly random times. It has frozen up when merely left on but more than often tends to freeze when opening a new page. I have 4GB RAM, 3.00GHz Duel Core processor, 8800 GTX Nvidia GPU. This issue has never been so prominent until the Firefox 6 update.
Go to''' Tools'''
then '''Options'''
In privacy choose '''Remember History'''
Then go to
''General Tab''
At the start up drop down menu when firefox starts select
'''show my windows and tabs from last time'''
That should fix things

I am trying to install firefox and l can't get pass setup type on the type of setup whih is standard and then it tells me to close firefox so it can proceed with installation, when l do, it ask me do l want to cancel installation, if l say no then it tells me again to close firefox.
I want to make sure you're using the auto-update system, because that's the safest most reliable way to go, and it shouldn't appear in the download manager, so I lets make sure you're doing it right. <br/>
This is a screencast I made a couple of years ago. It refers to 3.5 and 3.6, but the steps are still the same: http://ilias.ca/screencasts/ISUHD45.mov
If that doesn't work, then maybe your Snow Leopard account doesn't have permission to update applications? -

I uninstalled Firefox and re-installed it, but that didn't work. My Yahoo homepage looks like a puzzle. Images not loading correctly. Works fine on Safari, so I figure it is something in my Firefox settings.
Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.
