Oh, boy, Albul Art is Annoying me HELP!!

ok, so my Nano, being my first iPod, has impressed my, except that the album art doesnt work! The songs that I have downloaded from iTunes, shos album art, but If I upload a CD, it doesnt! I have tried importing the cover pic from "My Pictures", and even copying and pasting from Amazon.com, but it never shows on my Nano! to make matters even more frustrating, it shows if im playing music in iTunes! (p.s, i still have iTunes 5.9, and am updating to 6.0, if it wrks any better)

1. Non volatile random access memory (NVRAM) is where the computer stores user's settings, like time and date, speaker volume, energy saver settings etc.
2. Reseting NVRAM has no impact on anything on your hard drive, or anything else on the computer.

When trying to save a bookmark to a specific pre-established folder the window disappears and will not allow me to make a selection. If I hover in the area it will flash on the screen and disappear again, it's annoying please help!

When I attempt to save a new bookmark and want to save it in a folder the window that typically appears just below the address bar will not stay on the screen. It flashes on the screen and as soon as I move my cursor over it, it disappears. It will not allow me to make a selection of any kind. If I randomly hover over the general area the window will flash back in view but disappear again just as quickly. If I then show all my bookmarks, the bookmark was saved and I have to move it to the folder I actually want it in. Just a few extra steps, but still very annoying. Please help!

Pop-Ups, Ad's, Virus? its ANNOYING! HELP!!

How can i get rid of these Pop-Up ads for "cleaning my mac." every time i click on a link or some type of button, a new tab opens and a add appears. Maybe its a virus or malware but I'm not too sure. I've gone to the finder and deleted anything un useful to my mac in all my downloads and applications. I've enabled the Pop-up button on the safari preferences and it still hasn't helped. Ive deleted everything on the extensions tab as well and nothing. at this point i really don't know what to do whether I'm going back to a previous page or clicking a link, a new tab appears about online movies, "Mackeeper aka clean your mac" and all these other clem your mac adds. (REALLY ANNOYING) if someone can really help me on a process to begin, to get rid of this. i would really appreciate it. thank you

You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan. Remove it as follows.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. These instructions are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
From the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.

Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.
The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the Internet criminal behind VSearch has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

ALBUM ART? I Need Help!

Okay, i know about when purchasing music off of iTunes you get the album artwork with the music. But I've noticed that when playing imported music on iTunes it says that you can drag album artwork to the little square. I tried this with google but the images didn't drag. How do you manually get album art to your music?!? All help is appreciated.

Capture your artwork using a tool like printkey. Save it as a jpg or jpeg in a folder. Now in ITUnes right click the song, then select "Get Info" then select the "Artwork Tab" then click the add button, dialog window pops up, then select or navigate to the artwork jpeg you saved. Double click the file, should now show up in window, Close out the window. You're done. Now update that song file in your IPOD.

REALLY ANNOYING please help

ok so i've ripped all kinds of CDs to my mac and they're all MP3s labeled by track number. i create a playlist in iTunes for the appropriate CD and drop all the mp3s into the playlist and itunes populates the tracks from the last track to the first track. i know i could just click on the "track number" tab and it will arrange it from first to last but it doesnt change the REAL order of the tracks (like when i import the playlist to my ipod). my imac at work doesn't do this but for some reason my mac at home does, does anyone know how to fix this? or is there a way i can just click the "track #" tab and then tell itunes to take that arrangement and move it to how the arrangement should be???
its sooo annoying when i have to go in and manually rearrange the tracks by hand. i mean in the finder it's arranged correctly but why does itunes import everything backwards?

There's a "copy to play order" command when you right click or control+click on certain items. According to itunes help when searching for this command it says it appears in the playlist window but I couldn't get it to appear there as it instructs. However, if you click on a playlist itself on the far left it will appear there. I'm guessing that once you have things ordered properly it will copy that to the order, but I haven't actually used the feature so I can't say for sure. I just remember this feature from iTunes' predecessor, SoundJam.

I get a general failure when I click on links in my email. "General Failure" is followed by a link and I have to click ok to get rid of it. This happens every time I click on a link in my email. I've turned my computer on and off several times, but it persists. It's very annoying and I'm considering returning to Internet Explorer because of it.

This is a known bug, and has been for years. It occurs when Firefox is your default browser and some glitch (or program) changes that default. Thankfully, there's a fairly easy fix, though it does involve monkeying around in the Registry.
(Note: These instructions apply to Windows Vista and 7 only.)
1. Click Start, type regedit, and then press Enter.
2. Navigate to the following entry: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\FirefoxURL\shell\open\ddeexec
3. In the center pane, double-click the Default entry, then remove whatever value is there (it'll probably be a weird string of numbers and commas).
4. Click OK, then exit Regedit.
5. If Outlook and/or Firefox are open, close them, then restart them.

I am using windows 7 pro this issue has drove me crazy for some time, now finally it's fixed by doing the exact same steps as above, hope this works for everybody that is having this problem. I just had to share this with my fellow firefox users. :)

Okay for album art i think u use the window media player but i dunno bc i havent tried it. However, for the video convertor I suggest u dling the SUPER video convertor and use these settings to convert ur videos to the .AVI format and use these settings for super===
choose the following settings
Output container: AVI
Output Video Encoder: Xvid or DivX
Output Audio Codec: MP3
Video: no change (resolution
frame/sec 25
bitrate 768
options high quality/48k audio
Audio: Sampling Freq 4400, channels 2, Bitrate kbps 28

This is annoying. Help!

I recently bought a laptop and am wanting to transfer all my music from my old itunes library to the new one. ( I am running a windows, forgot to mention that.) I somehow messed up the directions to use my ipod as a hard drive and am now stuck. When I plug in my ipod into either of my computers I get the do not disconnect display and that's it. I can eject my ipod, load my playlists, and use my ipod but when it is hooked up to my computer I cannot get the do not disconnect sign to go away. Any suggestions. I'd appreciate the help.

First, forget your iPod for a while, make sure that you have the back up of all your music. Try to link your laptop and old computers via Lan or WiFi Lan, and complete the transfer.
Once it has being completed, eject your iPod and do a Reset. Your iPod should back to life again, if not, you have to plug it back with your computer and do a Restore.

Now I can open it in PSE if I click on the .psd and go to File- Open with- PSE. However I have to do that every time, because the default is set at- Droplet Template. How do I change the default to open the .psds? Anyone??? Thanks!

Since you are using one of the the school's Macbooks, it is quite possible that the time and date are not properly set on the computer that you are using. FaceTime will not work if you do not have the proper time zone set up for the location that you are in. This past week, there were a two other Macbook users I've helped by simply telling them to set the Date/Time properly. By the way, you described your problem very well, which makes it easier for us to help you. Hope this solves your problem -- if not, post back and I can suggest other remedies.

Do you just want to delete the music or wipe the whole phone since you've switched to the other one?
If you plug the old iPhone into your computer you can remove stuff via iTunes or remove stuff directly from the iPhone too.

Mismatched Album Art... Help?

The album art on my iPod no longer matches the artist/album it belongs to. For example a song from artist x album a shows artwork for artist b album z... if you get my meaning.
The album art in iTunes all matches the proper artist/album. I thought that deleting everything from my iPod and reloading everything from iTunes would fix the problem... but it didn't the album is still mismatched.
Any suggestions for possible fixes?

If your iPod is set to update automatically then try this:
1. Connect your iPod
2. Disable "Show Album art" in iTunes>Edit>Preferences>iPod.
3. Syncronise the iPod with iTunes. (Disconnecting and then reconnecting your iPod will do the trick)
4. Re-enable "Show Album Art" in iTunes>Edit>Preferences>iPod.
5. Syncronise the iPod again.

I recently changed my apple id successfully however when I open icloud a window flashes up with my old id and request for password.This window can be closed but it is so annoying to cancel this everytime.I was told to delete all my apps and reinstall them which I have done.This problem seems to be specific to icloud so will I need to delete and install icloud and if I do will I loe all my contacts pictures etc

In what way did you change your apple ID? Did you make a new one? Changed the password of an existing one or maybe added a new email alias?
If you go to Settings>icloud, what ID is being displayed? The old one? If you scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap Delete Account, then the device will be disconnected from the current account. You can then log in using another ID. Doing so, however, will disconnect you from all the current Apple data, like email and contacts. Pictures will not be affected.
