Oh help please - Parallels using Vista

I am running Parallels with Vista on a mini mac and getting a message
"You are running out of free hard disk space.
Free some disk space on the hard disk and click Continue."
In Parallels Image tools I compacted the files and attempted to increase my virtual hard drive capacity from 32 MB to 64 MB. I got a message "unable to process the specified virtual hard drive image" However, when I went back, the capacity had been enlarged to 64MB.
I restarted the computer and I'm still getting the same flippin' "runnning out of hard drive space' message and can not open the parallels desk top. The more information tells me this:
Free space on the drive=/Users/tlsbooks/Documents/Parallels/Windows Vista 1.pvm necessary to run the virtual machine: 2485 MB.
Current free space on the drive(/Users/tlsbooks/Documents/Parallels/Windows Vista 1.pvm): 2571 MB.
This the extent of my computer knowledge concerning this... I have absolutely no idea what to try. If someone could help, that would be great...all the files I need for a class I am teaching tomorrow or sitting in Windows documents. Thanks!!!

Added on: in the configuration menu, all the shared application boxes are marked: Share Windows applications with Mac OS X, Enable Smart Select, Share Mac OS X applications with Windows.
Thus I can see what is on my Mac desk top on the Parallels desktop. Could this be causing part of the problem?

Help please! [using Runtime.exec() to run find command in UNIX]

Hi guys! im trying to use exec() to run the UNIX find command
that my application uses. As you can see from my sample code, the find command finds all files ending with html in my home directory. Unfortunately when I run the program it doesn't give me an output, but when I run it on the shell in the same directory as this code is saved, it works perfectly fine.
Could someone please help me on this one. Many thanks! =)

I don't see anythi obvious. In both catch blocks, call printSckTrace on the exception yhou caught.
I think the real culprit is the ~ though.
~ is interpreted by some (most?) shells to men home dir. However, when you just exec a command, you don't have a shell to do that interpretation for you, so it's looking for a directory that's literally named ~.
Either exec a shell (read the man pages for the shell of your choice, but for zsh I think it's "/bin/zsh -c find ~ blah blah blah) or else just put the actual path to your home directory into the string you pass to exec. You can get that from System.getProperty("user.home").

No Internet with Parallels (using Vista)

Just got Parallels and Installed Windows Vista. For some reason I can't get on the internet. Under device manager networking isn't even an option. I can't turn on network discovery, and because of all of this I can't get on the internet with windows to get necessary software and rives. Using the Mac side everything is kosher and i can surf the web. Any advice so I can surf the web with parallels?

HELP please! X61 Vista operation system restore

I bought an x61 notebook with Vista Home Basic operating system last August. I replaced the original operation system with XP, and it was working fine for a year. But I reinstall the XP operating system today, but all USB hubs don’t work, as well as internet, dock station. I think I already install the appropriate drivers. They are all the same drivers I used last year. What should I do? I still have a hidden restore partition on my computer. Is there any way to get my Vista operation system back? Thanks a lot!!

Updating Win XP to SP3 might resolve USB hubs issue. Further, installing lenovo drivers is a two step process namely extraction of the file to a location the first setup file chooses [by default typically C:\Drivers\..] and secondly going to that location and running the actual driver's setup. An year is a long time to forget this.

Ok, for christmas i got an ipod [Nano 3rd gen], and my lil sis got an iriver [X20 model, just today mum bought us X3 $30 itunes cards, for itunes, now the format itunes uses is called :m4a, i want to get these songs onto my sisters "iriver X20" mp4 player, but the only formats the iriver can use are:mp3 & WMA, please help, i have tried to just put the itunes straight on to the iriver X20 but when i took the usb cable out of the iriver, it showed no recollection of the itune songs.
i put the cable back into it so connected to the computer again, and it showed the itune songs were still on the iriver X20, im sooo confused, maybe if i could change the itunes format the mp3, from m4a i could use the on the iriver X20, but i dont know how to do that either, im really puzzled lol, please help!

The iTunes Music Store does not sell either of those.
To use your gift card, make sure you are buying "iTunes Plus" tracks. Use iTunes to convert them to MP3 format, which can then be played on your iRiver. Follow the directions in the iTunes Help article "Saving a copy of a song in a new file format."
Do not buy the protected tracks. They are not usable in non-Apple players.

Help, please: problem using brush in masking

For some reason, when I use the brush tool, 100% opacity. 100% flow, when I paint with black it only partially reveals the background image. I have no special brush settings applied in the brush palette and the layer blend mode is set to normal. Any suggestions would be appreciated--have never run into this before.

Thanks so much, Ricky, for taking the time to help. Your suggestions made me think--I had numerous layers between the one with the mask and the background. Even though there were only a few paint strokes on each layer and the rest was blank, I tried merging them and that worked--I could then use my brush (the ordinary soft round brush) to display the background completely where I wanted it. Must have had differend blend modes in there somewhere and forgotten about it.

Help please! Using an array in another class

Hello, I'm new to JAVA and I'm trying to pass an array from one class to another, but I can't get it right. I've been able to get individual values on at a time.
If any one can help me out and give me a quick sample of how to do it,
I've done this below.
Is it as simple as an individual value - but just calling it an array - instead of say a string - or is it more complex. Please Help

No you are missing my point. You original code was calling the getLength method twice. On the first line it did nothing with the returned value and on the second you assigned the returned value to vol. But the setLength method is where you actually create the array and assign values to it. So unless you call that method first then you will not have an array at all.

Yes you could do that but all that will tell you is the length of the array and not what values are in it.

Help please! Using classes in large swing applications.

I am building a fairly large swing application. The class that builds the main frame for the application is getting extremely long with code because I have so many seperate JPanels. I'm using JDialogs wherever possible, but in many cases I need a JPanel within my main frame. I've been trying to build these panels within their own seperate classes, but it seems that the components are not being drawn. Any help or a small example would be great!

So... The question is: You don't know how to use JPanels built in other classes?
You should probably just try to find some sort of reference code and work from that. It's really not that hard

JAR Help Please. Using SDK 1.5

I recompiled a simple java app using SDK1.5 and created an executable jar file. Low and behold, I can no longer double click on the jar file and execute the application. The old jar file works fine, the class files were created in 1.4.2.
I use "jar -cmf mainclassmanifest FileName.jar *.class" at the command line. FileName.jar is created successfully and I can run it at the command line using "java -jar FileName.jar" but, if I double click on the jar file, I get an error message "could not find main class. Program will exit"

Sorry, I figured it out. I needed to update my file association for JAR files.

I'v installed, uninstalled, read different threads and cant figure this out. Large portions of the text just appear as vertical hash marks. XP is up to date and no viruses found.

I had this problem until just now. What you need to do is scroll down to the bottom of your homepage on itunes store. In the middle at the bottom you'll see "My Store" there you will need to select your country to get it to show $ and the correct language.

Help please- legal use of individual loops for commercial projects

From what I have read, my understanding is that I can use GarageBand loops royalty free in video projects. My understanding is that they do not want me to sell or distribute the loops as loops.
So, my question is, there are loops that I could use in a video project without doing any modifications to them.
Can I use a single loop, unaltered and unmixed, just the way it came in GarageBand on a video project?

Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 Do as Mylenium told you. If you don't know where it is. Go to www.adobe.com, sign in, search for the cc cleaner tool downloader and it should fix the issues. Have you went into your control panel, under programs and features and removed it from there?

Use the manual methods.. but it is possible for TM to wipe the old files in trying to fit into the space.
