Oh no! "Deprecated API Usage - Apple no longer accepts submissions of apps that use QuickTime APIs."

Tried to submit an app to the Mac App store and I received this now:
"Deprecated API Usage - Apple no longer accepts submissions of apps that use QuickTime APIs."
Looks like a fix is in for Adobe Air (https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3680732), but I'm not sure if the same is being performed on Director.
I'm not using any Xtras or anything, I think this is just embed within the Director builds.
Looks like submitting anything to any Apple App store is going to be on hold for everyone until this gets fixed.

Looks like this issue has been fixed in April 8th, 2014 release of AIR SDK. So the latest release 13.0.0.111 on May 13th, 2014 will have this issue fixed.

Just reading the iOS guidelines before I get too deep into making the native version of a web app.
I was wondering what:
Apps that use non-public APIs will be rejected
means when submitting an app made in AIR - does it mean you can't use your own custom classes?

If you mean custom AS3 classes, yes you can use those. What you can't do is create an ANE that calls into the private frameworks of iOS itself.

Shutting down my iPhone 4S no longer removes all the apps that have accumulated on the multitasking bar. What happened?

Maybe I imagined it, but I could have sworn that holding down the home button and sleep button at the same time until the slider icon appears at the top of the screen, and then engaging the slider icon, completely shuts down your iPhone and also removes all the apps that have accumulated in the multitasking bar. But, that does not work anymore on my iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0.1 (9A405). The iPhone shuts down, but the apps in the multitasking bar remain after you turn the phone back on. Did I imagine this feature in the past, or has something happened that no longer enables this functionality? Closing all those open apps in the multitasking bar one at a time is a PIA.

Any way to switch apps that used an old apple ID on the phone cause I can't update them since it won't let me change my new bank card visa details on that account which is the whole reason I made a new acc so i could download apps again.

Some of my apps are used on my old apple ID but then I lost my bank card visa had to get a new one then the transactions went thru that I made on my old apple ID and now it asks me to update my billing info cause I had got a new card and I tried doing that but it wouldn't accept my security code (the three numbers on the back of the card so I had to make a new account and that new account accepted the new card just fine so it wasn't the cards problem and now I can't update my apps used on the old APPLE ID because it wants me to pay off the transactions I made on that account but I can't pay it off cause it wont accept my new card.. Can't just delete the apps cause one of em has a bunch of my music on it and te other that needs updating is too big of a file to redownload since I have no Internet now and the iPhone only lets you download 20mb or lower apps without wifi

How do I tell Apple to fix their software like apps that play sound even though the sound is turned off and not being able to disable features you hate like game center

Apple is suppose to be the pinnacle of usability and, yet, I want to throw my new IPhone 4s as far as I can and watch is smash into a million pieces on concrete. Seriously, I've already got three things that irritate the **** out of me. First, there are Apple apps that insist on playing sound even though the sound is turned off. If I flick a switch to turn the sound off, I want the sound off!!!! Second, if I do not want a totally unnecessary feature like Game Center, I should be able to disable it. I completed most of the Angry Bird levels with 2 or 3 stars and now I have to start over from square one. Maybe, this happened when I upgraded to the 4s but it sure seemed to happen when I joined Game Center. Tomorrow, I am going to reset my 4s to factory defaults to try to get rid of my Game Center account. I don't want Game Center! I do need Game Center! I hate Game Center! Finally, I had an alarm go off to wake me up and there was a Snooze button but no button to turn the alarm off. I flicked the slider to access the main screen expecting to see something to turn the alarm off but there was nothing. The alarm just kept alarming. I had to warm boot my IPhone to shut the alarm off! Really, Apple!!!!

The sound is turned off. Only, some Apple apps like YouTube and Siri make sound when the sound is turned off. It is very embarrassing when this happens at work. My question was how do I tell Apple to fix this?

The alarm went off. There was a green thing that looked like a button but pressing it did nothing. There was a red button that said snooze. I did not want to snooze. I wanted to turn the alarm off. I slid the bar to unlock the phone and there were no running apps with a button to press. The alarm just keep running. I have not had this problem since it first occurred. The alarm now shuts off when I just unlock the phone. It may have happened because I had another alarm app running. The two may have interfered with each other. I would like to tell Apple about it.
It also annoys me that the button that closes apps leaves the phone app running. If I press on a number at 6:00 AM to get information about who called me, the phone automatically dials the person back and my natural reaction is to press on the button to close the phone app but the phone keeps dialing this person at 6:00 AM. It is a bad design. I would like to tell Apple about it.
Finally, I looked all over Apple's site to try to find someplace I could send them a polite message to let them know that I was not happy with these "features" but could not find anything. It is extremely frustrating to have issues with a product and not being able to tell the manufacturer about it. So, you grow up!.

Glen beck is a conservative news commentator , he now has a tv Chanel broadcasted only by the Internet, is is GBTV I get it on ROKU. I cannot get that or FOX NEWS or CNET on my new apple TV. How can I remotely uninstall an app on different device? The other device is an iPad 4 but my apple ID was used to make the purchase. I find the content inappropriate for the user.

Apps don't sync across devices after I moved to iCloud. I have 1 apple ID (from mobile me) and 1 that use for iTunes

Apps on my various iPads and iPhone used to sync automatically. Whenever I used to buy an apps, it would just automatically appear in all my devices. I'm not sure what does that, it could have been the MobileMe account, but it was working perfectly until after I moved to iCloud. Now, apps don't sync anymore. Calendars, mails and contacts do. I use 1 apple ID for I cloud and 1 for iTunes because I moved mobile me account to iCloud. Could someone please help? This is bugging me and I searched all over the Internet but can't find answer.

Concat apps that use Apple Script

I have been using Split and Concat 2.5 for joining downloaded files. Around the time I upgraded to OS10.4.9 it began to refuse to open; instead the dock icon just bounced a few times and stopped. I tried the Application, but it still would not open. Similar symptoms were observed with MacHacha (all versions to 3.2) and Catenator 1.1.0. I reloaded the original programs, deleted what preferences I could find, and repaired permissions, all to no avail. JigSaw works OK, so I suspect the issue is with Apple Script. Any suggestions?

Can I change the Apple ID assigned to the iLife apps that came with the Mac on purchase?

My wife and I own 3 apple devices. For ease we use one single Apple ID on all devices. Issue occured when my wife purchased the iMAC whilst I was overseas - during the in store set up (not knowing the impact) allowed the shop assistant set up a new Apple ID for her; resulting in the in built iLife apps (such as iPhoto) being associated to that Apple ID. We have since used the original Apple ID for everything on the MAC.
The problem occurs when app updates for the original iLife Apps are released - I can't update them under our Apple ID.
Can I delete iPhoto and re-install under our original ID without loosing all our photos - or is there an easier way to change the ID of the Apps?

If you simply just changed the email associated with that appleid you can just delete and Re-download the apps.
You can verify the above step by going to the App Store on device > Updates>Purchased - if you see the app there just delete it from the home screen and redownload from the purchased section
Now if you got rid of that account entirely, you will have to delete and re-purchase on your new account

I have recently send my app for submission to App Store and it got rejected with this message:
Dear developer, We have discovered one or more issues with your recent delivery for "App". To process your delivery, the following issues must be corrected:
Deprecated API Usage - Apple no longer accepts submissions of apps that use QuickTime APIs.
Once these issues have been corrected, go to the Version Details page and click "Ready to Upload Binary." Continue through the submission process until the app status is "Waiting for Upload." You can then deliver the corrected binary.

AIR4 Mac store submission: Deprecated API

I just tried to submit my app to the Mac store (following the known steps).
Got this error back:
Deprecated API Usage - Apple no longer accepts submissions of apps that use QuickTime APIs.
I realize not many devs care about the Mac store, but are there any plans for a workaround?

Well thats not good news at all
I really thought the QuickTime API rejection was part of the WebKit.dylib issue as I thought that was the verbage when I first failed to remove it, but Apple removes all Resolution Center messages from past binary submissions so I can't even check that.
Ironically Chris Campbell even recently asked for samples of MAS AIR apps:

What AIR SDK version are you using for this submittal and are you using any ANEs as part of the app?
I know the recent AIR 4 beta on labs is all about meeting Apple's new iOS XCode 5 February 1st requirements, but I wonder if there is anything in this update that also forces any new compatibility with the MAS as well.
Only other place QuickTime API rejections come up on a Google search is for somone using a third party developer framework:

Otherwise this is a pretty serious problem if the raw Mac AIR runtimes are facing new rejection issues for the MAS, my existing app on the MAS isn't due for a new update just yet so I won't know myself for a little while whether this is a new change for MAS when I go to update it.

How can you manage data usage when cellular data is off, but you are using WiFi where your WiFi provider charges for data use?

I spend quite a few months each year in Canada where I use a Telus Cellular Hub device which is also my WiFi Router. My iPhone 5 has Cellular Data set to "Off" which insures I won't be charged via my Verizon Wireless Service Provider for charges while in Canada. Trouble is Telus, Rogers and all the Canadian Internet Providers charge for all Data going through their Systems. Again, My Cellular Data on the iPhone 5 is turned off, but I use WiFi for such things as checking the Weather, or FaceBook, or searching the Web.
I believe that things may be happening in the background from various Apps that use quite a lot of Data. It could be that iCloud is part of the issue with things being backed up automatically. It also could be that Apps like AP or other News Apps are sending large amounts of Data in the photos associated with their New Stories, etc. I typically turn off the App Store "Updates" such that they don't automatically load. The FaceBook works now posted videos play when you are just scrolling through the News Feed.
I have been trying to fine an article somewhere which focuses on this specific problem but unfortunately many if not most articles are about folks worried about using Cellular Data while in a WiFi environment when their Cellular Data is turned on.
Does anyone know of a fairly comprehensive article about what settings on which Apps might reduce the Data Usage when Cellular Data is turned "Off" but you are going through a Service Provider who charges for all Data Accessed even when you are using WiFi?

Thanks for your comments, it is clear you understand my plight. The trouble is fully understanding what Apps and App Features are transferring data in the background any time you happen to turn WiFi to on (even if you have had it off most of the day or night). Obviously things like Location Services can constantly be sending and receiving data from my iPhone without any action on my part. Also if you have things like photo backup on the iCloud then each time you take a photo you are sending a copy out. All App Updates if set to Automatic also can add up to quite a bit of Data. Reading the News on AP or scrolling through FB News Feed is actually adding up to a lot of Data. There could be other culprits that I am not even thinking of. I don't want to turn Apps like Find My Phone off or turn iCloud off due to loosing the value of such a program entirely. Again thanks for your quick response.
