Oh Yeah!!! My BlackBerry Storm 2 is Gone!!!!

Oh Yeah!!! My BlackBerry Storm 2 is Gone!!!
Ok so this post is gonna make a lot of people mad but I don't care!
I had been calling the wonderful people at Customer Service asking them when existing customers can get the iPhone and bill to plan for about 2 weeks,  I was driving them crazy asking them questions about anything I could think of!  Verizon CSR Reps ROCK!!!
My husband walked in to our local store yesterday around noon... He came home with 2 new 16 gig iPhones!!!!  Yippee!
No pre order, no standing in line, and no one in the store! He added them to the plan, he bought 2 nice cases with holsters and 2 car chargers.
Now I've been enjoying my new iPhone, with no major problems! (one syncing prob but not a bad fix on iTunes!)
The BlackBerry Storm 2 was awful! I hated that touch screen, the freezing screens, battery pulls, and the BB computer software man it really bites, and all the other things I can't think of now because I'm loving my new iPhone ;]
I want to personally thank Verizon for all the great CSR Reps they have I've never met a inferior CSR Rep in 5 years of being a loyal customer! Every time I call Customer Service they have been so wonderful!!!
Thanks Verizon for bringing us the coolest phone on the planet! Finally!!! It was worth the wait!

ha, the original storm was my first smartphone.  I actually didn't hate it all that much but that was probably because I was installing leaks and hybrids pretty much daily to make the phone usable.  You don't really realize how bad BB OS until you try something else.  I upgraded to the OG Droid  and was amazed at the difference.  No memory leaks, hour glass, battery pulls, and a web browser that wasn't a chore to use.  RIM is so far behind and even OS 6 is fail.

  • How to transfer photo's from blackberry storm to laptop

I was on the phone today with my mobile provider for 1 hour only to get the wrong information.
Then I was on with a blackberry representative for 1 1/2 hours. After which my media card would not work anymore.
I lost all my pictures and cannot format my media card. I removed it once during the time with blackberry rep and after that the pictures were all gone.  I said Ok. Let's keep going we tried to format the card and it failed. I am waiting now for a new card. Hopefully there is a problem with the card. I can't imagine what happened when I took it out for a second that made it stop working.
My question is I did find on the site how to use the blackberry as a USB connection. It says I have to install the drivers separately for my computer to recognize it. The only problem is the instructions are old and not for my model phone.
All day today they are telling me then when I connect my blackberry storm 9630 it should appear in MY COMPUTER. I should then be able to drag the pictures from the phone to my pictures on my computer.
The memory on my phone is set for prompt in mass media storage.
The storm never shows up on My Computer. We did check and it shows up under hardware for USB connections it also works perfect with desktop manager.
The pictures take so long using that software I want to find an easier way to do it.
I still want to use the desktop manager for transfering my outlook stuff.
If anyone has any suggestions about the media card stuff please let me know as well.
    Solved!

Hi susieq, I've had similar problems in the past (and still do - I just can't view the files on my media card when it's plugged into the Storm for some reason).  What I've done is that I've found a microSD card reader and when I want to transfer my files to/from my computer, I just remove the card from my Storm, then plug it into my microSD card reader, and plug that into my computer and transfer the files using Windows Explorer (just like a would any other flash drive or external hard drive).
While not the ideal solution (as you have to find the card reader), this is actually the easiest way to transfer files to and from your computer and microSD card.
And given that you've already tried a whole bunch of things with both a BlackBerry Tech and your carrier's support line, this would be my suggestion.

  • Question on Palm 500 and BlackBerry Storm--please help!

Hi, I'm not sure where to post this, but here is my story.
For several years, I've had a Palm 500.
I believe, when I purchasedit,I had to choose to Hot Sync between either my PC at home or my Mac at work. I chose to Hot Sync at home and that was an error because I was mostly using it for work. In time, I got tired of tapping everything in with the stylus and mostly use it as an address book now, even though I have $hundreds in third-party apps going unused.
Recently, I’ve been considering buying a BlackBerry Storm. I don’t really plan to use it on the Net but Verizon says I have to pay $30 a month just for web fees or I can’t get that phone. My husband says there is a way nowadays to HotSync to both a PC and a Mac. Or at least for me to hook up the Palm 500 to the Mac at work and be able to use iCal etc. there.
If I choose to buy the BlackBerry he says I can transfer all my Palm data to the BB.
Can anyone tell me: 1. Is any of this true? 2. If I stay with the Palm how do I get the necessary hardware/software for my iMac? 3. Should I just deep-six the Palm 500 because it’s so old?
I really need some kind of organization software/device because deadlines are piling up and I’m gonna get in trouble on my job!
    Thanks!!!

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
You always had the ability to sync with two different desktops, even of different platforms.  This Palm Knowledgebase Article discusses how to Hotsync one device on two different desktops:
    http://tinyurl.com/kq4c5
The Mac hotsync software is downloadable from the support/download site linked above if you don't have your original installation disc.  Just be sure you pay heed to the article's instructions about only using ONE desktop for full 2-way sync, using the second desktop for one-way sync (Handheld Overwrites Desktop) as a clone of the other.
As for the BB Storm, I am unfamiliar with it but it looks like you would probably have to sync with M$ Outlook or some other organizer app which is compatible with the Blackberry Desktop software (suggest you peruse the BB site for info).  If you don't already sync with Outlook, you would have to migrate your data from Palm Desktop to Outlook.  You can do that but you might need your original installation disc.  I'm not sure whether the m500 came with Outlook conduits or Chapura Pocket Mirror to sync with Outlook...and I'm just a little bit frustrated right now trying to find stuff on the newly redesigned web site to be able to point you to the right answer on that.
Whether to deep-six the m500 or not is a tough one.  Palm's handheld PDA business is pretty much a goner...no new stand-alone PDAs are planned, and the "current" models (TX, E2 and Z22) now seem to be at the end of their production life.  So it seems that whatever is still out there in the supply stream (like www.amazon.com where you can get a new TX for something like $270) is probably about it. Your m500 is already a dinosaur, and parts will get harder to come by.  But if you like the stand-alone PDA it seems that now would be the time to get a replacement for your m500.  Their speed, display resolution and other capabilities are far superior to your m500.

  • Blackberry Storms Junk

I have had this blackberry for almost 2 years and now I am having so many problems with it.  Everytime I call customer service tells me to upgrade.  WHY, why should I pay for another phone?  Shouldn't they be the one's to replace this one first?  First problem; phone freezing up all the time- however this that took 3 trips to the nearest Verzion store which is 50 mins away. Mind you there is always a wait, then customer service makes you feel like it is all a figment of your imagination.  After 3 trips I was given a phone number to call and they replaced my phone.  Not even 2 days later that phone begun with similiar problems.  Customer service did a reset, complete reset over the phone, this wiped everything out.  Now the phone will only ring once, if I am lucky for it to ring at all, when recieving a call, my test messages take several minutes to send and recieve, my blackberry messanger isn't working properly and the only way I can recieve a text is have Blackberry Messanger installed.  CRAZY!!  Yeah like I am going to upgrade or renew.  Verizon customer service is horrible as well as the Blackberry Storm!

Point eight is exactly on the point. My biggest dissapointment after purchase of Blackberry Bold 9900 OS7. Opera Mini works well as a substitute, but it is not possible to make it a default browser and for me not alawys awailable as a choice of browser when pressing on a link either.

  • How can I download photos from my Blackberry Storm onto my iMac?

I have tried downloading Pocket Mac and a few other things that do not work. Thanks

I have the blackberry storm. My MacBook will not recognise the memory card. Weird, because Pocketmac will sync address book, but under itunes and iphoto it says i have no media card inserted. I put the media card in another phone and wow! Mac recognises it... So i reformatted it on the mac and put the media card back in the Blackberry...only for it not to work. IT doesn't even mount.
I have the settings correct on the blackberry:
    on
    none
    off
    on
prompt (and have tried having as yes also)
I have also gone to the system on the mac and it sees the blackberry is via usb. What is going on? Apparantly the only way i can share files is to bluetooth one by one...woohoo :/
    Thanks for your help!!

  • I hate my BlackBerry Storm. I want an iPhone!

I'm at my wits end with the damned BlackBerry Storm 1! This is the worst lemon I've ever bought and RIM won't even talk to me without having to pay them tons of money without any guarantee of service! The damned Storm has gone back to RIM for its 2nd OS install because once RIM's mac desktop manager trashes the phone, there is no way to reinstall the OS. Is this the same with the iPhone? Can a totally trashed OS in the iPhone still be reinstalled without having to send it in for repair? I've already had to reinstall the OS on the damned Storm at least 2 dozen times in 7 months and my backup cell phone is now having issues after years of use so I have to buy the phone at full cost to avoid penalties of voiding the rotten Bell contract.
Am I going to have tons of problems with the iPhone, too?
What kind of extra warranty do I get with the iPhone?

the iphone comes with a years warranty and 2 extra years can be purchased with apple care which cost about 59.99
Actually no, that's not correct. AppleCare for the iPhone provides one extra year, for a total of two years.

  • BlackBerry Curve 8330/BlackBerry Storm Dilemma

So I'm a college student and it was just time for a new Cellphone and I wanted the BlackBerry Storm. I was going through with the deal on a particular site that had it lower priced than the original price. So I was filling out the contract and by the end decided, it may be cheaper to get another phone. (Well I didn't decide this, but it's not the point)
So instead I go and checkout the BlackBerry Curve 8330. I'm filling out the contract and I fail to realize during the process that it's basically around the same price as the BlackBerry Storm with all of the features that add up at the end. So I go ahead and get it.
After the fact I do the math and finally realize......"HEY! For the price I might as well have stuck with the BlackBerry Storm."
So now I'm just wondering, before I beat myself up too much if there is any reason to beat myself up. Is the BlackBerry Storm really that good or am I better off with the BlackBerry Curve or does it matter? I really wanted a new TouchScreen phone and I liked the look of the Blackberry Storm. Not to mention I'm finding out that the Curve is rather old right. Although I do like the Curve. So yeah.
Any input will be greatly appreciated. I just joined just to ask this so I hope it was worth it.
    Thanks.
I pay your bill and I maintain your place of residence.
I use you yet I get no use out of you.
You're there for everybody else. Why aren't you there for me?
What has your RingBack Tone done for you lately?

    So, I got the Storm.
Has some really jiggy action problems on the keyboard and in other areas.
I found the Curve so much easier to operate in just minutes of playing with it at the store.
I just got back from Verizon where another guy was having the same problems.  He had the Curve prior to the Storm and recommended the Curve over the Storm.
He pulled out from Verizon and went to AT&T for the new Bold.
I think you can chill and enjoy the Curve.
I am sleeping on it and may go back pay $35.00 restock and get the Curve.  But maybe not.  My 12 year old son is talking me into staying with the jiggy Storm.
I'd say stay with your Curve and move on!
    Peace,
    MQ

  • Is Verizon going to get the Blackberry Storm 3 (9570)?

I am currently an Alltel customer that was bought out by at&t.  We are set to change over in December or January.  I may or may not stay with at&t as I have heard bad things about their service.  I am interested in a complete touch screen Blackberry and am wondering if Verizon is set to get the Blackberry Storm 3?  I heard they were and then heard it was cancelled?!  Anyone know? Thanks!

Hi my blackberry storm is out of charge and has turned off.
I only have the USB cable to connect it to my laptop. Can I charge it via my laptop by connecting this cable.
I would appreciate your urgent help.

    Hi!
If you have already installed the BB USB drivers on your PC, then yes you can charge via USB. If you have not installed them, you can obtain them here:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
For charging only, you don't need the entire desktop software suite...just the USB drivers alone is enough for charging via USB.

  • Blackberry Storm

Good mroning, I'm new here. I've had my Blackberry Storm (I believe the number is 9630) for a few years. Love it, of course I have on it Facebook; but, nothing more than that. Recently there was an upgrade to Facebook, I did the upgrade. Since that time I now am getting a run time error when I open FB. The only way for me to clear this and to be able to use the phone is for me to take the battery out of it. What is causing this and what can I do to fix it?
    Greatly appreciate the feedback.

If you delete the app then reinstall it, that should take care of the issue. If not, post back and we'll look at other options.
    Cheers.

  • Alternative for Google Sync for BlackBerry Storm 9500

Hi, recommend an alternative for Google Sync for BlackBerry Storm 9500 without BES / BIS, thank you!

from GMail, you can export your contacts and your calendar events to a CSV or XLS file.
then using the Desktop Software, you can synchronize those files to your device.
That being said, using a BlackBerry without BIS is having a very incomplete BlackBerry experience.

  • 8703e blackberry email copy to blackberry storm

I have a Blackberry 8703e.  I just purchased a blackberry storm.  I have many emails on the old unit that I need on the new unit.  How do I copy over the old messages.  Some of the old messages are not on my local outlook on my computer.  Please advise if this can be done

    Welcome to the forum.
You can do a full backup of the 8703e, then connect your Storm and do an Advanced Restore (under Backup/Restore in Desktop Manager) and restore just the Messages database.
