OHCI IEEE1394 DEVICE Host Controller

I have downgraded from vista to windows xp successfully however the OHCO IEEE1394 COMPLIANT HOST CONTROLLER drivers cannot be found, I have installed all Windows Updates including the service packs but still have not been able to overcome the above drivers. Anyone know where I can find the WindowsXP drivers for this? This is the last hurdle on  my rollback from the dreaded Vista nightmare but need to complete this install and I am home free. Any suggestons where I may be able to get these from? my laptop is a dv6700 Notebook PC
thanks again

I am currently running BIOS F.2B on a dv6426us (ICH7) and NEVER had any problems when I went to a DUAL Boot XPro/Vista ... BUT I did try to install the(fore-mentioned Unibrain) driver (without upgrading the BIOS) and my Firewire Audio device (M-Audio) refused to work/install.  I did not mess around with trying to see if a newer BIOS would have been compatible however.  Ended up uninstalling and reverting back to distribution driver, but I guess it is worth trying on YOUR hardware.  BTW ... that download exe is VERY scary looking until it actually gets running.
Report back your SUCCESS!
Luck,
j

I have an HP Z600 with a LSI 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller and get an error. It is a "This device cannot start. (Code 10) STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE error
When Windows 7 is installed, there is no error but with Windows 8.1 running there is this error.
There are no installed legacy drivers that I can use and I have tried many different permutations of driver installs.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi:
You may also want to post your question on the HP Business Support Forum -- z Workstations section.
    http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Workstations-z-series-xw-series/bd-p/bsc-272#.VIMqRDh0zGg
If you tried manually installing the W7/W8 driver (I have no clue which one of the several LSI drivers listed that you need), then that would have been the only suggestion I could have offered.

  • VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 bus host controller Code 10 & 12

Yesterday I finally got my motherboard so I did a clean XP installation (my first board had a falure). The board is a K8N Neo2.  The thing is that after the installation I could see an conflict in device manager.
The device that shows a conflict is my IEEE 1394 bus host controller - VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 bus host controller.
Yesterday it said:  This device cannot start (code 10)
today it says:  This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
Is ther anyone that can help me to get rid of this problem?

  • 1394 OHCI compliant Host controller

ok i have ordered 2 of these boards now. the first i just figured was the board  because no matter what i did i got the BSOD and had to heep restoreing for it to work.so i was sent another from best buy who i purchased this from. but now still the 1394 OHCI compliant Host controller will not install . i have tried updateing the software and whatever i can do but it just won't update.
i also get this code in properties
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
    msi x58 pro-e
6 gb coisiar 1600 runiing at 1033 for now
xfx xxx radeon 5870 video card
    windows 7 ultimate 64-bit
    hopefully this is enough info
     thank you .

I would start to wonder if the reseller sent you back the same board. Two having the exact same issue are remote unless it was related to a bad batch of controllers. One would would think the forum would have had a bunch of threads about it. I take it the firewire device cable has been carefully inspected & the device has been tested in another machine?
    Quote
this never worked, i have had this board now for over a year and have yet to have it installed.
A year has passed? It doesn't appear like any magical cure is going to present itself, so RMA looks to be in order.

  • Windows reports that the "USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller" device is not working properly.

I have been receiving the following error and instructions to fix it for a long time now, prior to updating to Windows 8.1:
A device is not working properly
Windows reports that the "USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller" device is not working properly.
Recommended solution to the problemUse Windows Update to check whether new device drivers are available. Proceed as follows:
    Open Device Manager
Search in the device manager for the device whose driver you would like to update and double-click on the device name. You may first have to enable the "Show hidden devices" entry in the "View" menu.
Switch to the Driver tab, click Update driver and follow the instructions
When I follow the instructions and try to update the driver, I am told "The best driver software for your device is already installed."
How do I update the driver to stop receiving the error?

  • USB Host controller missing in device manager

    Hello,
I've installed WIN 7 64 bit on my laptop; everything worked fine at the beginning; but after a couple of days, after a system update, all of the 4 USB ports stop working
In device manager there is no USB Host controller entry, and I have four device named "Multifunction device" marked in error
    Already tried without success:
    - update device driver autosearch online
    - uninstall device and reboot; the system can't find proper drivers
    - reinstall all drivers from HP driver update utility
    - reinstall drivers with Intel driver update utility
    - reinstall windows (no reformat)
    - other driver search utilities
I can rule out an hardware problem because if I boot from CDROM or even usb keys, they work properly; given this fact, if I reformat the disk probably I could fix the problem I guess, but I prefer avoid this extreme solution, I use this laptop for my job and I have lot of customer network and VPN configured.
    Thanks

After following the Apple instructions on how to install Boot Camp on my MacBook, I had similar problems. I received the following non-functional driver list:
    Bluetooth USB Host Controller
    Coprocessor
    Ethernet Controller
    Network Controller
    SM Bus Controller
    Video Controller (VGA Compatible)
I tried running the repair feature from the OSX disc, no help. It may be noteworthy that I installed XP Professional SP3 straight off of an install disc, and did not do the following:
    Install SP2
    Install Boot Camp 2.1
    Update to SP3
I am currently downloading Boot Camp 2.1 and hope that it will solve this problem. If anyone can help, please let me know!

    Problem:
Device manger Intel WiUSB: USB IF x HCI USB Host Controller always has the exclamartory mark on it.
Device status: This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)
    Pls help, thanks.

    Hey there wche5,
I found some information over on this thread may be beneficial to your situation. This controller enables USB over wireless as part of the Intel (WiDi) Wireless Display function. To obtain a fix you will need to go to the Intel Site, and run the Intel Driver Update Utility. This should identify any Intel drivers you have that are out of date, including the WiDi driver.
Other threads on the forums point directly to this driver by Intel that typically resolves the problem, found on this thread at the end.
I hope this able to assist you in getting a solution to your issue, Thank You wche5!

  • IEEE 1394 bus host controller issue.

Each time I boot my system (Tecra A9 S9021V) the IEEE 1394 Bus host controller device driver displays that it is disabled with an error code 22 (this taken from device manager).
From within device manager I manually disable the device, then re-enable the device.  The device then displays that is operating correctly.  The device driver is displayed as "Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller".  There are 2 files associated with the driver - (1) 1394bus.sys (Microsoft Corporation; version 6.0.6001.18000 longhorn_rtm 080118-1840), and (2) ohci1394.sys (Microsoft Corporation; version 6.0.6000.16386 vista_rtm 061101-2205).
I'm running Vista Business SP1 with all updates/patches.
Is there something I can do to get this device to start up correctly?
    Thank you!

  • USB 3.0 host controller and USB Root Hub xHCI not showing up on Windows 8.1 laptop

Greetings and thank you for taking the time to read the following message and 'maybe' attempt to help me with my current plight...
I have an HP envy m6 laptop running Windows 8.1 and Windows 7. The problem i am facing at current is that i have only 1 out of 4 usb ports working on my Windows 8.1 partition however on my Server 2012 partition, all four ports are working fine. After asking
around i have come to the conclusion that i'm having a driver issue. I compared what was present on the Windows 7 USB controllers (in Device Manager) to what was present on the Windows 8.1 controllers and i found that my Intel(R) USB 3.0 extensible host controller
    - 0100 (Microsoft) and my USB Root Hub (xHCI) was missing on my Windows 8.1 partition.
Now for some background....the problem first occurred when i was trying to solve an external hard drive issue in which none of my external hard drives where showing up when i plugged them into my usb ports, i came across an online solution telling me to
uninstall all my USB drivers in device manager, restart the laptop and let the computer re install the drivers automatically, the result was that i only had 1 out of 4 ports working. Could someone please point me in the right direction in order to fix this
    problem?

Windows 8 has native USB 3.0 drivers which explains why you are not seeing an option to roll back. I do not believe you can make the Windows 7 driver work. Have you tried uninstalling in the device manager all usb items and then rebooting to let the drivers reload? Do that with the computer off the dock and then plug it into the dock. As a general rule you should not do driver updates to a laptop through a docking station.

  • How to restore, reinstall to WIN 7 vers. USB 3.0 Host Controller after driver upgrade to Win 8

After an undate for the Intell USB 3.0 Host Controller (extensible) as a WIN 8 driver update my DynaDock does not work properly for any devices using the USB ports on the dock and connected to any USB port on the HP Envy 4-1043 laptop. Reading everywhere I can find anything it seems that there is a problem with the Microsoft or Intel driver for the USB 3.0 Host such that the USBs work find when things are plugged directly into them. BUT, when the dynadock is pluuged in and any of its 6 USB ports are used the devices either cannot be found or behavior extremely sluggishly.
This Dynadock has worked well with my last 4 HP computers and worked fine under WIn 7 and 8 on this Envy until the last update of the driver.
I do not know how to re-install the old driver (Hps' WIN7 version sp56724. Can someone please give me the steps or refer me to a source to do this properly?
There is no roll back option in the device manager for this driver. It is grayed out.
I have take pride in not experimenting with 'brihg tiddeas' of how to fix things on this machine. Not that 99% of my gut plus resources from help pages and Miscrosoft did not work before. I do not have a backup computer anymore and I cannot afford the lost of time and productive in making a mess and then spending days trying to undo and fix something that I know others have done well.

  • How to install the driver of the 'SCSI and RAID Host Controller'

    Hi,
I have two Windows XP(32Bit) installations:
•Windows XP SP2(32Bit) which is old and it seems as if it is infected by some viruses.
•I have installed another fresh clean Windows XP(32Bit) SP3. However, I have found that there is no category named with ''SCSI and RAID Host Controller'. However, when checking out the old version of Windows XP, I found  'SCSI and RAID Host Controller'
    is there. (Screen shot below)
The new Windows XP(32Bit) SP3, there is no 'SCSI and RAID Host Controller'
    My motherboard is:
My Desktop Computer(Intel P 4, 512MB of RAM, and Graphics Card  with 256MB of RAM.
]I am seeing that most computer doesn't has the scsi / raid controller . in the old Windows XP on my computer that SCSI and RAID controller exists, and it it has not  a yellow mark on it.
When I installed  a new windwos XP 32Bit SP3, no SCSI/RAID in divice manager .
My computer sound on new Windows XP doesn't work , however, on old Windows XP SP2 works well. I have a buitl-in  sound card. SCSI and RAID controller category in the device manager on the old Windows xp SP2 is realted to sound card,I don't think.
Thus, What drivers would let the 'SCSI and RAID Host Controller' added in the device manager?
A man should convert his anger and sadness into strength to continue living in this life.

If you open the case and shine a light on the motherboard you can usually see both the manufacturers name and the model printed on the pcb somewhere. You should also normally see this information on the first POST screen when you turn on the PC.
Otherwise Google "775i65G" like I did.
Here are the driver downloads (assuming it is an Asrock 775i65G R2.0 and not an R3.0)
    http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/775i65G%20R2.0/?cat=Download&os=XP
You should install the inf driver first. Hopefully after you do that you will see your desired listing in Device Manager.
With regard to the AMR driver and the HDMR driver, you can find some information about these here :
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Audio/modem_riser
Unless you actually have something plugged into these risers, it is probably not necessary to install the drivers.
However, the drivers for the integrated C-Media audio chip and the Realtek Lan chip may prove useful.
It looks like the motherboard has integrated video but if you are using a graphics card it will not normally be necessary to install the VGA driver.
You can download both the manual and the installation guide here
    http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/775i65G/?cat=Manual
And if "SCSI and RAID Host Controller" is still not shown in Device Manager, don't worry - because these functions are not supported by your motherboard (again assuming it is an Asrock 775i65G)
    Thanks a lot,
First of all, when saying that I have multi-operationgs systems, I mean there are two operating systems installed on my PC(SP2, SP3) both are 32Bit. The first Windows SP2(NOT installed by me) has all multimedia audio card installed
well, and has SCSI and RAID Host Controller shown the device manager. However, only the VGA is not installed on Windows SP2. However, the second one Windows SP3(Installed by me) has VGA not installed, Multimedia audio NOT installed, and there is no SCSI and
RAID Host Controller in device manager.
First: Why did the CPUz, specy didn't detect motherboard name, and only detect the model. IF I need to  open the case and shine a light on the motherboard you can usually see both the manufacturers name and the model printed on
the pcb somewhere, then what benfit would be there from hardware detection software?
Second: Yes, my motherboard has integrated video, and integrated audio card
However, this doesn't mean that I don't need to install them since the Vidoe controller is not properly installed (it is a default VGA ) Also, Multimedia audio controller is not functiong at all.
Finally: if And if "SCSI and RAID Host Controller" is still not shown in Device Manager in Windows XP SP3,  because these functions are not supported by my motherboard, then why is 'SCSI and RAID Host
Controller' installed/shown in the device manger in Windows XP SP2 on the same PC???
A man should convert his anger and sadness into strength to continue living in this life.

  • KT4VL USB Host controller Problems

I have  a KT4VL (MS-67212) and am having problems with the USB Host controller.  I am running Win 98SE.  This happens wether or not I have any USB devices installed.  I have taken out all installed add on cards and tried and still get the same problem.
If I reboot the computer with the USB Host Controller installed, it won't boot.   It goes into safe mode where I can uninstall the USB host controller.   I can then reboot fine.
Every time I reboot though the hardware detector pops up saying that I need to install the drivers for the USB host controller.  If I install them, then  everything works fine, all USB devices are found and and function perfectly.  That is, until I reboot and it goes to safe mode.
It has the 1.1 bios in it.  I didn't install a floppy drive in this PC so I can't flash it at this time, if that is what I need to do.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks,

  • "Host Controller Not Found"

I recently factory reinstalled my Lenovo W510. The recovery discs come with Vista 32 and I upgraded the system to
Win7 64. The device manager did a good job at finding the missing drivers I needed except for two things...
The most concerning problem is that the pc will not  recognize any usb device that is plugged into it. The logical
thing to do is download the required usb drivers to make them work. I have downloaded the usb 3.0 device
driver as well as the firmware for this. Whenever I try to run the "USB 3.0 Host Controller Utility" , the system tells
me that there is no host controller found. When I try to install the firmware it says "Not Found the Host Controller"
I don't know what else I need to do? The device manager update utility does not recognize any missing drivers.
    Any help?
    THANKs!!!!

    hey atweiss90,
if you uninstalled the current USB 3.0 drivers. Does your OS install generic drivers for it ?
If it does, could you see if your USB works with the generic drivers.

  • Can't Install Enhanced USB Host Controller

I keep getting these popups each time that I load windows xp that its found some new hardware for the USB 2. The hardware is the Universal Serial Bus Controller. However it does mention Intel 82801EB USB 2 Enhanced Host Controller -24DD. I let it search for the needed drivers but it never finds them or there is something else wrong. I keep getting "An error occurred during installation of the device. The data is invalid". Whatever in the hell that means!!! Any clues? I'm running the 875P Neo board.

Well the drivers for the other USB drivers were automatically installed when I installed Windows XP. The USB 2 drivers however are not installed for the hardware even though the hardware is recognized. I have the SP1 update installed. Here is what happens: when I load windows this screen comes up:
    http://www.angelfire.com/space2/tmoum/newhrdwr.JPG
I press next and after a few seconds (takes longer if the MSI CD is in the CD-rom) and this screen comes up:
    http://www.angelfire.com/space2/tmoum/newhrdwr2.JPG
I'm not sure where the drivers for the device are located so I just let windows search for them but this doesn't seem to work.
Here is what my Device Manager looks like:

Thank you for the prompt reply. I have followed the following steps (from Microsoft support forum) but it didn't solve the problem:
    Lets reinstall the USB Controllers.
First, please disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps:
    1. Click "Start" button, type “devmgmt.msc” (without quotation marks) in the “Search” bar and press "Enter". Click “Continue” if necessary.
    2. In Device Manager, double click to expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers", right click on the Host Controller, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".
    3. Repeat the step 2 to uninstall all items under "Universal Serial Bus controllers".
Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will reinstall all USB controllers automatically.
All usb driver items restored correctly with the exception of one line that still shows "unknown device", with the following details:
    Standard USB Host Controller
    Port_#0001.Hub_#0009
    Error 43
    What else can I do?
