OHS Assemblies missing in EPM 11.1.2.1 Installation.

Hi,
I am trying to install EPM 11.1.2.1 and sucessfull for most of components except the "heart" Essbase server. The error in installation process is OHS assemblies are missing.
Can you please help me to figure out the exact process to install OHS. It caused the prerequisites failure for Essbase server component.

Thanks for reply. I have downloaded V25494-01 (System Additional Content Release 11.1.2.1.0) and extracted file to same location. The prerequisites check log is as below:
Not sure if something wrong I am doing here.. all teh components have been installed successfully. Only the pending is Essbase. During installation the error for Essbase component as: EPMINS-01047: The ohs assembly is missing. the assembly is required in order to install a selected component.

Hi I'm a potential employee for a software developing company called Data Futures. I recently applied for the Quality Assurance Specialists job and they gave me a project to work on to determine If I'm a good fit for their company. The project is to write and execute a test plan for an application program. When I try to run this application program it runs fine until I click the reports option. When I click it the program throws an exception saying it's missing the CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine version 9.1.5000. I did alot of googling on the net and I think I know the problem but I'm not 100% sure. I think according to the assembly version it shows that I need the Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2003 .NET runtime files. Am I correct in assuming that? I don't have either CR or VS 2003 on my computer. Because I don't have VS 2003.NET I don't think I can use merge files(.msm). If I find msi files will I need to enter a product key to install them? The application program they gave me didn't come as a deployment package. All they gave me was the executable, some dlls and some other files with it but no runtime files to make it run properly. EPM 11.1.2.1 Installation problem on Laptop (Windows Server 2008 R2 x64)

Dear All,
I hope someone can help me here with EPM 11.1.2.1 installation problem on my notebook - Windows Server 2008 R2 x65, 8 GB RAM, running SQLServer 2008 Express.
I installed Hyperion Foundation. The installation and configuration went through successfully.
I am facing two problems:
Problem 1
When I try to access the workspace through the URL http://hostname:19000/workspace/index.jsp, I get error:

Problem 2
Also, the service "Hyperion EPM Server" service not able to start. When I try to start, I get error message:

I tried checking everything but can't seem to figure out what's going wrong.

Thanks to your suggestion for database, problem #2 seem to be resolved. I am now able to start EPMA Service.

Do you use Time Machine backup? You could restore the app from there.
Did you go through the Applications folder?
Did you try to search for it using the spotlight?
Did you look in Trash?
If it is no longer on your Mac, you'll have to purchase new install discs (Amazon, etc....)
Since you are on G5, App Store and direct download is out of question.

No error with installTool.sh but the openLDP directory missing in $HYPERION_HOME/product/Foundation
I have found the openLDAP files after extrac from productCommonComponents/assembly.dat
some can help me ?

Assemblies missing from GAC following reboot.

Hi folks,
I've inheried the support of a C# .net application that uses Crystal Reports XI, and built using Visual Studio 2003. My knowledge of Crystal Reports is limited at best so apologies for any missing info or inaccuracies.
This problem has happened a few times, and previous times I've fixed it by reinstalling the application - this isn't ideal as the web server is hosting other applications that isn't easy to take down for any length of time while I restart IIS. The server is Windows Server 2003 SP1 and IIS version 6.0. The application was built using the .Net framework 1.1 but other applications on the server are running on .Net framework 2.0. I have no control over the OS or infrastructure (its supported by another contractor) so reboots can happen without any warning!
Basically anytime a reboot of the server occurs, the Crystal Report assemblies registered in the GAC seem to disappear, leading to the following error:
System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument' threw an exception
Is there a reasonable fix to this problem? My client isn't satisfied with reinstalling the application anytime a reboot takes place (are they ever though!).
Does crystal reports have to be installed to the GAC at all? I understand the use of the merge modules, but I'd prefer not to be using the GAC or registry at all.
Any help would be great.

Hi Ludek,
The only non-windows services running on the server are two applications developed by my own development team and they don't use the GAC in any way - its company policy not to do so.
From investigating on the web, the closest possible answer is that the assemblies are still listed in the GAC but when a server runs a reboot the Autoexec.bat deletes information held in the WINDOWS/temp folder. According the the post in the forum, crystal reports installation infromation is held in the temp folder - which if true is shocking practise!
I've tried deleting the temp folder on a VM to see what effect this would have on the application, and right enough the forms won't run anymore but the exception received is that it can't find the report.
Do you know if installation information is held in the temp folder?

11.1.2 on 64bit Windows 2008 R2 - Oracle HTTP Server assembly missing

After downloading and unpacking everything into a single folder and running InstallTool, I'm finding 'Oracle HTTP' is showing as missing.
No other product is missing, just the HTTP Server. I checked and the .dat file for OHS is in the file system.
Anyone else seen this on 64bit Win2008?

I tried Windows Server 2008 R2, and couldn't get it to work. Even though IIS was successfully installed, the installation of several of the apps failed because the installer didn't recognize that IIS was there. I believe Alp had the same issue trying to install on Windows 7 (not server).
R1 installed fine.

Convenient script to remove missing assemblies/missing webparts and missing set up files

Hi All,
When try to run config wizard after any patch installation it fails to succeed beacuse of either missing assemblies or features or webparts or setup files.
For features, I am using FeatureAdmin tool but for others, does anyone have any working script to remove these orphaned objects?

Here's a technique... use at your own risk and ALWAYS try in DEV first and BACKUP before attempting.

I am able to login workspace , shared services and planning but whenever I hit application library in workspace I am getting below warning

               I am not sure what is that RAF. ...last time when I configured 11.1.2.2 ..I am able to login EPMA..Now , I am doing new installation 11.1.23 on same machine...
               and also can you explain ODAC package....I downloaded part 1 - 7 and installed...do we need to download something else for EPMA?..
              I am able to login webserver console and tested all the connections...everything running fine...
              Is there anyway that we can test somewhere else.
         John : I saw this errror but I am able to connect database while configuring...I am not sure why it is happening for EPMA...??? I will try to reconfigure EPMA again and let you know..
                  In the mean time if you have some other thoughts let me know..

Hi,
11.1.1.3 is not officially supported with windows 2008
11.1.2 is the first release that is supported for windows 2008.
There may be patches in the future for 11.1.1.x which allow windows 2008

Oracle EPM 11.1.2.2 Installation on Solaris

Hi John,
Can you please let me know, about the user access / permissions (who would be installing Essbase 11.1.2.2 on Solaris). Apart from the guide, where I got to know about the user should not be a root user, the user & its group should have write access to the central inventory 'orainventory'. We are creating a new group & user for installing Essbase. Can you please let me know about other things related to user/group access/permissions/properties which I have missed?
I tried going through the guide many times, but could not find more. (/tmp folder write access etc is not mentioned in the guide)

Oracle EPM 11.1.2.2 installer bug

Hello,
Anyone found a problem with the installer for EPM 11.1.2.2 where if you go back into installtool.cmd after an install and try to add another product. The new product gets installed but the inventory and Comps.xml files get corrupted and some already installed products seem to be removed.
We have hit this several times and are wondering if there is a patch.
