OHW 2.0.0-beta3

Hello,
First of all congratulations for this new release ! I really appreciate your new TOC ! I am very impatient to deliver my documentation with this new version of OHW so my question is : do you have an idea of the date of the production release ?
My second question is about the customizability of the look & feel of the banners and tabs. Is it possible to customize these ? Is it possible to remove "Oracle Help for the Web" or to add our company logo in the banner ? Is it possible to change the colors of the tabs ?
Thank you for your answers !
Regards,
Cecile GORIN

Thanks Brian,
Sorry I forgot to mention that I'm aiming to get the online help developed within the next few weeks for our application that's currently in production. I noticed you said the the beta 2.0.0 release is only for eval purposes...
So for a system that's in production, am I currenly only allowed to implement a OHW 1.1.7 help system?
Thanks again

    Can you please try again with the OHW 2.0 production
    demo bundle? Please let us know if the problem
    reoccurs.OHW 2.0 production also cannot be deployed to AS 9.0.2 because of the same error. But it works well with 10g.

  • Unable to display topics in OHW

    Greetings,
    I am using OHW 2.0.2 and having problems displaying topics. My ohwconfig.xml looks like...
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
    <helpConfiguration
    version="2.0"
    xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/help/web/config">
    <!-- Page branding based on ResourceBundle -->
    <brandings>
    <branding text="HP OpenView Web Console Help" />
    </brandings>
    <!-- Different locale setups. -->
    <locales>
    <!-- English: -->
    <locale language="en">
    <books>
    <helpSet id="ovwebhelp"
    location="http://localhost/ohs/?type=ov_web&amp;locale=en&amp;port=80" >
    <contentLocation baseURI="http://localhost/help/en/ov_web/ui/gStart/" id="1" />
    </helpSet>
    </books>
    </locale>
    </locales>
    <navigatorAliases>
    <!-- Uncomment for Tree Based TOC Navigator
    <alias name="oracle.help.navigator.tocNavigator.TOCNavigator"
    value="oracle.help.web.navigator.tocNavigator.TOCTreeNavigator" /> --
    </navigatorAliases>
    <parameters>
    <combineBooks>false</combineBooks>
    <useLabelInfo>true</useLabelInfo>
    <!--
    Number of locales that are kept in memory all the time.
    Please see the OHW documentation for more information on
    this parameter.
    <cacheSize>3</cacheSize>
    -->
    </parameters>
    </helpConfiguration>
    Unfortunately while ohw displays the table of contents correctly, I can't select any topic and see the table of contents. The URL for the helpset is a generated helpset with just one subhelpset:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    - <helpset>
    <title>Openview Help</title>
    <subhelpset location="http://peony:80/help/en/ov_web/ui/gStart/getStarted.hs" order="2147483647" />
    </helpset>
    I'm running all of this on a single Windows XP machine peony with JDK 1.4.2. What do I need to do to ensure OHW displays the content of my topics? I thought the <contentLocation> element was the only additional thing I needed to do, but that's not working.
    thanks,
    Elizabeth Dyer.

    Greetings,
    I am still pursuing problems with OHW and displaying the help content correctly. All the subhelpsets are under the same directory structure, e.g. help/en/ov_web/ui/hoh, help/en/ov_web/ui/usingHelp, etc. The html files in the subhelpsets usually reference a shared jpg file in their html file...
    <body leftmargin="10px" topmargin="12px" marginheight="12px">
    <img class="bannerrightimage" src="../../../common/image/banner_graphic.jpg" alt
    ="Library logo">
    where banner_graphic.jpg resides in the help/en/ov_web/common/image directory. Note that the common directory itself contains no subhelpsets, but stylesheets and graphics shared by all the help html files.
    I have added all the subhelpset locations to ohwconfig.xml with the <contentLocation> element (including the common/image directory). All subhelpsets are referenced via an apache alias that points to the help directory. OHW is not displaying images that are referenced in the html for the topic. If I look in my access_log for apache, I find that the URL to banner_graphic.jpg is wrong...
    15.2.113.125 - - [01/Mar/2005:13:12:18 -0700] "GET /ohw/help/common/image/banner_logo.gif HTTP/1.1" 302 -
    This should be /help/en/ov_web/common/image/banner_logo.gif
    So, what do I need to add to my ohwconfig.xml to get it to reference URLs that are shared by multiple html files, but still within a directory specified by a contentLocation element. If needed, I can mail you my ohwconfig.xml and portions of the subhelpsets to reproduce the problem.
    thanks,
    Elizabeth Dyer.

  • OHW Top-Level entry in tree-based TOC navigator

    Hi Team,
    Is it possible to specify the text string in the "Top Level" location? We would prefer to have our product name rather than the words "Top Level".
    We are combining multiple helpsets through a master helpset file. The <title> string from each subhelpset establishes the second-level TOC entries. Our html <title>s establish the rest of the TOC entries.
    We are using:
    <parameters>
    <combineBooks>false</combineBooks>
    <useLabelInfo>true</useLabelInfo>
    </parameters>

    Currently, there is no mechanism to change the text for the "Top Level" node.
    One thing we might do for the future would allow users to specify their own resource bundles for OHW UI, or provide some means for untranslated text to be displayed for this.

  • Cannot install BPEL PM mid-tier flavor (2nd option) from beta3 drop

    On the instance repository information screen You have to provide orabpel and mid-tier ias_admin connect information. It pre-requisites an already populated bpel schema. Although I have run the scripts domain_oracle.ddl and server_oracle.ddl the following message appears when you press next in the OUI:
    Altert: The OracleAS infrastructure database has not been upgraded with the OracleAS BPEL PM 10.1.2 schema....
    Subsequently I cannot continue - any idea how to circumvent this message?
    Again I think I have a complete orabpel schema

    Hello Frank,
    we were running into the same problem, you can install the middle tier version only if you have setup up all the BPEL needed tables, views, procs in your database. With the beta3 ships a compressed file called irca.zip. It contains the IRCA ( Integration Repository Creation Assistant ). You need to run this assistant before the middle ware installation against your db. Following the db is prepared to be a repository for you BPEL middle ware.
    Hope this helps.
    Bye,
    Chris

  • Problem in OHW I5

    Hi,
    I am new to Oracle Help and working on a POC as part of my requirement, I have successfully created POC in OHW 2.0 but now I need to work on latest version to avail advanced search features. After exploring, I found ohwrcf_i5.ear and I have followed the instructions given in the installation guide " OHW RC Release Note I5" to set it up in Standalone OC4J 11. when I try to deploy the application, I am ending up with ADFLogger exception and according to some web-references, its a known versioning issue and it works if deployed in the embedded OC4J with JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.0.0.
    I am using JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.0.0, I did imported the ear file ohwrcf_i5.ear, added the required JSF and JSTL taglibs, and build was successful. But when I try running main.jspx, I am getting a blank page with the message "No config parameter specified in the url or invalid config parameter. Please contact your administrator for more information."
    The log message in Embedded OC4J console is below:

    It got it solved by myself when I tried with config=OHW+Servlet+1.

  • How to deploy OHW onto Oralce Application Server?

    I down load the demo-bundle.
    It is set in c:\ohw\. I startup the OC4J from c:\ohw\bin. And the help system can be launched from URL http://localhost:8888/.
    Also I modify the Oracle Application (in Jdeveloper 10g1.3.2.0) to make it work with the helpset in demo-bundle.
    I follow the instructions in "Deploying OHW Using the Unconfigured Bundle" to create a ear file which contrains a WAR file (it has helpsets directory, (and files), ohwconfig.xml file, the cabo directory, and the WEB-INF directory.
    Then I caret a zip file which has application.xml file and META-INF file and the WAR file. Then rename it a ear file.
    After all, I intend to deploy the ear file to Oracle Application Server.
    It fails with message:
    Failed in uploading archive. Invalid archive file: Unsupported archive type. unknown
    1. Where is the right location in Oralce Application Server for servlet container ?
    2. What is the right way to deploy a helpset onto Oralce Application Server?
    Thanks

    Same as you would deploy any .NET application. There are two ways to do this:
    1 - Simple copy files to win2003 server and create virtual directory (if you copy to default location just create IIS application using inetmgr)
    2 - create deployment project that will generate setup for you. execute setup on win2003 server and follow the steps.

  • Generated helpset not displayed correctly in OHW 2.0.2

    Hi,
    I have a servlet which generates a helpset file. To test my helpset, I plug in the url to the ohwconfig.xml in the ohw-demo-2.0.2 sample; ie C:\Tomcat 5.0\webapps\ohw-demo-2.0.2\helpsets\ohwconfig.xml
    The change in the ohwconfig.xml looks like this:
    <locales>
    <locale language="en">
    <books>
    <helpSet id="test" location="http://mymachine:8080/ohs/?type=ov_java&locale=ja&port=80" />
    </books>
    </locale>
    </locales>
    When I try to access the demo help (http://mymachine:8080/ohw-demo-2.0.2/help), I get:
    Error in OHW Configuration:
    Critical error in OHW configuration:
    No books in [books] section.
    ---what works, but not what I want---
    If I save off the output of the servlet into a file, say "test.hs" and put in under an htdocs directory (so it is visible to my webserver), everything works. My ohwconfig.xml looks like this:
    <locales>
    <locale language="en">
    <books>
    <helpSet id="test" location="http://mymachine:80/help/test.hs"/>
    </books>
    </locale>
    </locales>

    Hi Brian,
    My environment is all within a firewall, so I don't think that is the problem. I wrote a simple servlet which successfully accessed the URL. Here is the output of the console, including the stack trace:

  • No german umlauts in OHW 2.0.2 topic view

    I used OHW 1.1.5 before. Now switching to OHW 2.0.2, in the table of contents the german umlauts are not displayed correctly. The rest of the installation is identical. Its the same OS, the same JDK, the same Tomcat servlet engine and the same client web browser.
    This phenomenon is independent of using a navigator Alias or not. I can't find any option in the documentation, which allows to configure the TOC output. How can german umlauts displayed in the TOC with OHW 2.0.2?
    Thanks in advance
    Michael

    Do they display correctly in the other navigators? (i.e. does the keywords show them correctly?). In addition, do they show up in your topic pages (the actual help content)?

  • Bug in OHW config.xml file

    Hi Team,
    I am using a master helpset file that refers to multiple <subhelpset>s.
    This works fine in OracleHelp for Java, but is broken when I display the same files in Oracle Help for the Web.
    In my owhConfig.xml file, I point to the master helpset file:
    + the combined TOC shows up fine.
    + the combined Index shows up fine.
    But none of the links work because the *MAP.xml files are not being read correctly.
    Why are the TOC.xml files and the INDEX.xml files detected and read into memory, but the *MAP.xml files are not? The only way to fix it is to list every single help set (that is already specified in my master helpset) a second time in the ohwConfig.xml file.
    Can this bug be fixed?
    Thanks for the help with this,
    Wendy Studinski

    Hi Wendy,
    I suspect the MAP files are being read correctly (OHJ and OHW use the same code to process a helpset). What I suspect is going on is that you need to specify some contentLocations in your ohw-config.xml file.
    For security reasons, we require that you explicitly list contentLocations in your ohw-config.xml file. We automatically assume that the directory that contains a helpset file listed in ohw-config.xml is a valid content location, but we don't extend this to subhelpsets (if they are in a different directory than the master helpset then the contentLocation needs to be explicitly defined).
    If there is a link to a file outside of list of contentLocations that OHW knows about, then OHW will not serve up that file, which in most cases appears like a broken link.
    You can read about contentLocations in the Oracle Help Guide. If I guessed wrong, and it is not a contentLocation issue then just let us know and we'll take it from there....

  • New error messages related to OHW - filling up error logs.

    We've recently received a new delivery of help files (new helpset), but there have also been many other changes to our base software system in the interim.  This makes it hard to nail down the culprit.
    That said, we are now seeing two messages in the error log any time we access help.  I'm wondering if anyone else has seen these, and have suggestions as to the root cause.  They are as follows:
    ...<OHWLoggerUtils> <errorFoundLinkToInvalidTopicID> invalid topic id link: STADG reported from http://127.0.0.1:7101/sta-help/faces/helppages/config.OHW+Servlet+1/locale.en/
    <OHWLoggerUtils> <errorFoundLinkToInvalidTopicID> invalid topic id link: STAIN reported from http://127.0.0.1:7101/sta-help/faces/helppages/config.OHW+Servlet+1/locale.en/
    <OHWLoggerUtils> <errorFoundLinkToInvalidTopicID> invalid topic id link: STAAG reported from http://127.0.0.1:7101/sta-help/faces/helppages/config.OHW+Servlet+1/locale.en/
    <DocumentUtils> <getDocument> ADFv: Trouble getting the mutable document from MDS.
    <DocumentUtils> <getDocument> ADFv: Trouble getting the mutable document from MDS....
    We are seeing many of these messages in a row, but they are all like the two types you see above.
    Just for completeness, there is one other error message filling our log which we also have not been able to resolve.  This one has been around for a while longer:
    <OHWFilter> <doFilter> Resource URLs should not contain "helppages.resource"; they should go through the servlet path "/ohr".
    <OHWFilter> <doFilter> Resource URLs should not contain "helppages.resource"; they should go through the servlet path "/ohr".
    ... <more of the same>
    Any help or pointers would be appreciated.  We are using JDev 11.1.2.3.0, and OHW 5.0

    Hey, tried uploading my first DPS app since August 28 and got rejected. I edited my folio and re- created the app, did the hole process again and today I uploaded the new app thru App loader. Everything was ok, but as soon as I clicked the review app in itunes connect, and the status changed to: "Waiting for review" Got an itunes Email saying this: ..."REDUNDANT BINARY UPLOAD - there already exists a binary upload with build version '32.0.0.8.99116' for train '1.0.7'... Once these issues have been corrected, you can then redeliver the corrected binary."...
    I am completely lost, I don't know how to solve this issue, don't know what steps to follow and im in desperate need of help. The app is a magazine and they've been waiting its launch since September 1st.
    The hole precess relies on me and I ran out of options... Can someone Help me?

  • I can't download Project Siena Beta3 from Store

    Dear officers,
    First of all thank you for developing "Project Siena" I was waiting for Beta3 for a long time. I am a little disappointed when I first saw whats new in the third Beta. I was waiting for Barcode / Text recognition (via camera) implementation. But
    I am hopefully waiting to see it in the next versions. My problem is;
    - I can not access to Windows Store through my Work-laptop.But I can install appx files by running with Powershell. Is there a place where I can download Beta3 in "*.appx" format?
    -Or any other methots without the official Store is welcome.
    Thanks in advance.
    Oguz

    I'm wondering if maybe there was an oversight and it just didn't get listed for your region?
    Maybe the following would be a temporary work-around to get it installed - switch your region with the below help and maybe then you'll be able to see it / install?
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/use-windows-store-country-region-help
    (below text were steps I found in a different post - I don't recall where I found this as this was several days ago and came from a MS employee responding to a similar type of inquiry not related to Siena)
    Some apps are unavailable in some countries or regions. In this case, if someone shared a link to an app with you, you’ll be able to see the app description page on the web but when you try to view the app in the Store, you’ll see a message that the app
    isn’t available. To check your country or region setting perform the steps mentioned below:
    a: Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and tap  Settings.
     (If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Settings.)
    b: Tap or click Change PC settings.
    c: Tap or click Time and language, then tap  Region and language
    d: Under Country or region, look to see that your location is set correctly, and change it if it's not

  • NI-VISA2.5 BETA3

    Hi all
    I have just downloaded NI-VISA2.5 BETA3 from NI ftp site for
    using new features such as GPIB low-level control. I am now
    trying to write a test program with LV5.0, but now have a problem.
    I put two VIs "VISA Open" & "VISA GPIB Send IFC" and then
    tried to connect them via "VISA session"terminals. But they
    can't be connected ! The LV environment just changes the wire
    to a dotted line. (See the following connection.)
    [VISA Open] VISA session (dup) -----> VISA session [VISA GPIB Send IFC]
    I also wrote a C++ program with the new feature using "GPIB::INTFC"
    descriptor, but there was no problem at all.
    I think the problem is not due to VISA library itself but LV-update
    portion by the VISA 2.5 BETA 3 package. Will it be fixed at t
    he next
    release?
    Makoto

    Makoto:
    This should work but you need to solve the wiring conflict. (The dotted
    line is a broken wire.)
    The "VISA GPIB Send IFC" VI will only accept the class "GPIB
    BoardInterface".
    You need to right-click on the session input to "VISA Open" and change the
    VISA Class type.
    This is not a problem and should work with the files we shipped with beta 3.
    Let me know if you experience further problems.
