Hi !
- Check $INFRA_HOME\ldap\odi\samples\ldp2ldp.properties used for users
Example : D:\Ora10infra\ldap\odi\samples\ldp2ldpUsers.properties
. Check inside that odip.bootstrap.logseverity is set to 15 to get all messages
. Check odip.bootstrap.trcfile
Example : odip.bootstrap.trcfile = D:\\ora10infra\\ldap\\odi\\conf\\bootstrap.trc
. Check odip.bootstrap.logfile
Example : odip.bootstrap.logfile = D:\\ora10infra\\ldap\\odi\\conf\\bootstrap.log
==> Check these log files after ther bootstrap
- Look at $INFRA_HOME\ldap\odi\log
- Look at $INFRA_HOME\ldap\log
- When you run dipassistant bootstrap command, add the parameter : -tracelevel 63 to get more traces

Help with Script created to check log files.
Hi,
I have a program we use in our organization on multiple workstations that connect to a MS SQL 2005 database on a Virtual Microsoft 2008 r2 Server. The program is quite old and programmed around the days when serial connections were the most efficient means
of connection to a device. If for any reason the network, virtual server or the SAN which the virtual server runs off have roughly 25% utilization or higher on its resources the program on the workstations timeout from the SQL database and drop the program
from the database completely rendering it useless. The program does not have the smarts to resync itself to the SQL database and it just sits there with "connection failed" until human interaction. A simple restart of the program reconnects itself
to the SQL database without any issues. This is fine when staff are onsite but the program runs on systems out of hours when the site is unmanned.
The utilization of the server environment is more than sufficient if not it has double the recommended resources needed for the program. I am in regular contact with the support for the program and it is a known issue for them which i believe they do not
have any desire to fix in the near future.
I wish to create a simple script that checks the log files on each workstation or server the program runs on and emails me if a specific word comes up in that log file. The word will only show when a connection failure has occurred.
After the email is sent i wish for the script to close the program and reopen it to resync the connection.
I will schedule the script to run ever 15 minutes.
I have posted this up in a previous post about a month ago but i went on holidays over xmas and the post died from my lack or response.
Below is what i have so far as my script. I have only completed the monitoring of the log file and the email portion of it. I had some help from a guy on this forum to get the script to where it is now. I know basic to intermediate scripting so sorry for my
crudity if any.
The program is called "wasteman2G" and the log file is located in \\servername\WasteMan2G\Config\DCS\DCS_IN\alert.txt
I would like to get the email side of this script working first and then move on to getting the restart of the program running after.
At the moment i am not receiving an error from the script. It runs and doesn't complete what it should.
Could someone please help?

be able to help.
What i am doing is searching the log file. Finding the specific words then outputting them to an email. I havent used bmail before so thats probably my problem but then im using bmail to send me the results.
Then im clearing the log file so the next day it is empty so that when i search it every 15 minutes its clean and only when an error occurs it will email me.
Could you help me send the output via email using bmail or blat?

Help! SQL server database log file increasing enormously
I have 5 SSIS jobs running in sql server job agent and some of them are pulling transactional data into our database over the interval of 4 hours frequently. The problem is log file of our database is growing rapidly which means in a day, it eats up 160GB of
disk space. Since our requirement dont need In-point recovery, so I set the recovery model to SIMPLE, eventhough I set it to SIMPLE, the log
data consumes more than 160GB in a day. Because of disk full, the scheduled jobs getting failed often.Temporarily I am doing DETACH approach
to cleanup the log.
FYI: All the SSIS packages in the job is using Transaction on
some tasks. for eg. Sequence Cointainer
I want a permanent solution to keep log file in a particular memory limit and as I said earlier I dont want my log data for future In-Point recovery, so no need to take log backup at all.
And one more problem is that in our database, the transactional table has 10 million records in it and some master tables have over 1000 records on them but our mdf file
size is about 50 GB now.I dont believe that this 10 million records should make it to 50GB memory consumption.Whats the problem here?
Help me on these issues. Thanks in advance. And one more problem is that in our database, the transactional table has 10 million records in it and some master tables have over 1000 records on them but our mdf file

Help me on these issues.
For SSIS part of question it would be better if you ask in SSIS forum although noting is going to change about logging behavior. You can increase some space on log file and also should batch your transactions as already suggested
Regarding memory question about SQL Server, once it utilizes memory is not going to release unless there is windows OS faces memory pressure and SQLOS asks SQL Server to trim down its memory consumption. So again if you have set max server memory to some
where near 50 SQL Server will utilize that much memory eventually. So what you are seeing is totally normal. Remember its costtly task for SQL Server to release and take memory so it avoids it by caching as much as possible plus it caches more so as to avoid
physical reads which are costly
When log file is getting full what does below transaction return
select log_reuse_wait_desc from sys.databases where name='db_name'
Can you manually introduce chekpoint in ETL query. Try this it might help you

Successful compilation:0 errors, 0 warnings..
4. But when i looked into the Embedded OC4J Server-Log
i found the error :

Where yo find reporting services log files in sharepoint 2013 integrated mode
i use to find the reporting services log files in the msrs folder in sharepoin 2010 integrated mode. but when we migrated to sharepoint 2013. i am not able to find the logs.i wanted to check all the executed sql statement using the logs as we don't have
access to sql server profiler. does anybody know the location of yhe logs?Hi there,
Not sure you'll see the sql statements however you can find information on the ULS logs here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc627510(v=sql.105).aspx
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff487871(v=sql.105).aspx
and here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms156500(v=sql.105).aspx
You might want this once ULS log is capturing info.

Anybody know what that means ?Locum is a program that helps Finder delete some files when you empty the Trash.
It's normal to see that message in the log after the trash has been emptied. If it's showing up on its own every few minutes, I'd first try restarting the computer (in case something is causing Locum to launch), then try repairing permissions and restarting again. -
Data Integrator build failure - could not open trace log file
HI, this is regarding data integrator 11.5. I have a job that failed trying to run a data flow with the below error. Its run perfectly fine plenty of times in the past. It looks like it just couldn't open the trace log file that it had been writing to... anyone know what would cause this? No one would have been opening or modifying that file during the job except for the job itself. I was just wondering if anyone has run into this before. I am sure it will work if I just

How can maintain log file Please help Very Urgent.
I am developping an application in PDK. From my application I need maintain a log file in the server side. Please help me how can I do this. If you do have links regarding this matter please pass it.
You might want to use the SAP Logging API. see
<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/d2/5c830ca67fd842b2e87b0c341c64cd/frameset.htm">Logging and Tracing</a>
In NWDS include a reference to logging.jar (use variable SAP_LOGGING_LIB_HOME).
You can then write to the log in this way:
public class Xyz {
private static final Location TRACE = Location.getLocation(Xyz.class);
// It is not nice to set the severity in static code - only for demonstration purposes.
// For production-ready code this should be done via a log-configuration.xml
// to allow configuration of the severity at runtime.
TRACE.setEffectiveSeverity(Severity.ALL);
public void myMethod() {
final String METHOD = "myMethod()";
TRACE.entering(METHOD);
TRACE.debugT("whatever");
TRACE.exiting(METHOD); -

Help creating DB with multiple Control/Log files
I just installed 10.0.2.0 and tried to create a database and ran into the following issue. In my 9.2 install I have the following directory setup:
E:\oracle\oradata\(instance name)
F:\oracle\oradata\(instance name)
G:\oracle\oradata\(instance name)
I have three control files and three log files (1 in each directory). When I use the Database Creation Assistant and specify locations in the Multiplex Redo Log and Controlfiles dialog and then finish the assistant I get an error stating Oracle could not create the folder. I am using the following lines in the dialog.
{ORACLE_BASE}\oradata\{DB_UNIQUE_NAME}\
E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\oradata\{DB_UNIQUE_NAME}\
F:\oracle\product\10.2.0\oradata\{DB_UNIQUE_NAME}\
When I explore to F:\oracle\product\10.2.0\oradata\ there is a directory called {DB_UNIQUE_NAME} and not the database name I want (for example if I want an instance called RICK the control file would be in E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\oradata\RICK.
In Oracle 9.2 I specify the locations as follows: E:\oracle\oradata\{DB_NAME}\ and it works just fine. Can someone help me through the exact steps I need to take to set up my new database with control/log files in different drives.
Thanks
Richard AndersonHi Richard,
normally I don't use DBCA to create DBs so I cannot tell how to solve it in DBCA.
A workaround can be:
At the end of configuration process in DBCA, instead to have the tool to generate Your DB, configure it to generate only the scripts (if I remeber they are created in $ORACLE_HOME/assistants/dbca dir) and generate them.
Using a text editor, check the generated scripts and change the wrong strings.
Hope this helps

Delay in event driven log file data writing? Please help!!!
System Information
Operating System: XP
Labview: 8.2
Force sensor data acquisition via DAQPad-6070E
Actuator: Actuator via MCS-3D controller
Programming Information
Number of events: 13
Position read: Reads the position and the force sensor data every second.
Move I & Forward: Moves the actuator forward with a define step size
Two actuators are made to travel certain distance. A force sensor is attached to the system. The aim here is to acquire continuous data as per the defined time wait (1 sec). The data is logged in a text file which gives the position travelled from the actuator, the force sensor data with a time stamp.
The issues I am encountering is during writing a file.
For ex: When even is activated ( Move actuator at defined stepsize) the event are logged into the log file but the positions are updated into the log file only when the next event is activated. So it means that the positions and the force values are updated into the logfile after the consecutive event is executed. If you see the logfile ex inside the attachment the red block explains the event executed but the position are updated in the next line (event). This file is just for example.
Please help here I am going wrong!
Thanks in advanced

I find it out what was going on. As you mentioned that I was writing the values before the actuators achieving the final position, so I introduced a delay between the execution of two SubVI's. It isnt a clean method but it works.
thank you very much!

Can't login as an admin, log files are going nuts,HELP!
The heart of the matter:
1) About a year ago I realized my ASL log files were growing out of control (about 30gb right now)
2) I d/led Omni DiskSweeper and Yasu
3) I started using Yasu regularly and it seemed to keep things a lot cleaner
4) Suddenly, out of nowwhere I started getting warnings again that my hd was full but
I couldn't log in as an admin, it rejected the passwords I'd set years ago and I was unable to reset
to a new password with the startup disk (the new password is never recognized when I reboot)
5) Yasu completely stopped working, now every time I try to launch it it says
"error dscl_cmd DS Error -1436 (eDSRecordNotFound (56)"
I'm not that comfortable getting under the hood or using console. Is a complete reinstall the easiest/only fix? One more wrinkle I d/led MacKeeper recently but found it useless and irritating cause of my login issue so dumped it.
Thanks so much!Regarding MacKeeper, make sure you remove all associated files ...
To Completely Uninstall and Remove Zeobit's MacKeeper
Download and Install AppCleaner
Download and Install Find Any File
Run AppCleaner
Click on Applications
Select MacKeeper
Click on Search
Select all results
Click on Delete
Run Find Any File
Search for zeobit
Select and Delete all results (except for those already in the Trash)
Search for mackeeper
Select and Delete all results (except for those already in the Trash)
Open Up Keychain Access
Search for zeobit
Select and Delete all results
Search for mackeeper
Select and Delete all results
Secure Empty Trash
Reboot
Unless you perform all of these steps, you'll have remnants of Zeobit's MacKeeper app. I had installed MacKeeper several weeks ago, when I had accidentally deleted some files on my Mac -- hoping to use their "undelete" feature. This was when my nightmare began. Even after using AppCleaner to remove it, there were still some background processes that were running every 10 seconds. While probably harmless, this adds unnnecessary strain on the Mac.
The key was also using Find Any File and delete any entries in the Keychain Access.
