OID from Tomcat

Anyone ever created (or looked up) users from an application deployed to Apache-Tomcat using the Oracle LDAP extentions?
I am receiving
Error in resolving Oracle Context: cn=OracleContext Not an instance of DirContext
on the call to getSubscriber.
Do I need to put ldapclnt10.jar, ldap.jar or what in the Tomcat common/lib or something?
Tomcat using JDK 1.42_13
OID running on 10.1.2_02 infrastructure

Just to confirm, do you want to deploy the web app (WAR file) in the iPlanet Application Server 6.x, then it is very easy. First open the deploy tool and select this war module and deploy. And access the web page, by
http://host:port/NASApp/<context-root>/<url-pattern>.
You should be able to get it up and running.
In case of any issues, please get back with full details of the type of the environment and type of the application.

  • Access EJB 3.0 (deployed on Glassfish v3) from Tomcat 6.0.20 (Netbeans 6.8)

    Hi all,
    I'm a newbie (of java EE and Sun forum).
    I have a problem.
    I followed this tutorial: http://technology.amis.nl/blog/1368/connecting-to-an-ejb-30-remote-sessionbean-from-tomcat

    The deploy of EJB on Glassfish is OK.
    The deploy of WebApp on Tomcat is OK.
    But when I access to the servlet using the browser I receive this exception.

    Yes, I did.
    I'm not sure about the right actions to do.
    For example: the Glassfish FAQ told me to add gf-client*.jar to the Tomcat folder, not appserv-rt.jar , with v3.
    I tried with both files. I restarted Tomcat, but nothing work :-(

  • Problems moving app from tomcat 321 to 4.0

    I have serious problems moving an old app from tomcat 321 to 4.0. I tried just moving the entire webapps/<myApp> to the new server, and also using a war-file, but I get a message saying that one of my Beans doesn't exist.
    Its a bean in the /WEB-INF/classes subdir, so its in an annonymous package. The jsp-page accessing it uses the
    <jsp:useBean id="dateBean" class="DateBean" scope="session" />
    tag.
    Error message from jsp-page says: org.apache.jsp.DateBean not found.
    Seems my tomcat4 doesnt use the web-inf/classes in its classpath???
    regards
    Markus

    I don't believe the current Servlet specs allow for anonymous packages. Try moving your class into its own package (under WEB-INF/classes/packagename/) and see if that fixes the problem. Also be sure to change the <jsp:useBean> tag to give the full classname in the class attribute.

  • SELECT OID FROM clause not working

    The following statements gets ORA-00904: "OID": invalid identifier.
    The SELECT OID FROM clause is intended to pull in a REF to the MANAGER with MGR_ID= 000001.
    Oracle seems to think there are no OIDs for the entries in the MANAGERS table.
    INSERT INTO STORES VALUES (

    (SELECT OID FROM MANAGERS WHERE MGR_ID = 000001)
    Here is how the MANAGER, MANAGERS, ans STORES were defined.

    CREATE TABLE STORES (
    STORE_NO INTEGER,
    LOCATION ADDRESS,

    My questions:
    1. I don't see any OIDs when I display the MANAGERS table with the Object Browser. That is normal it isn't it? Aren't they always hidden?
    2. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

    [Documentation Says....|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28371/adobjdes.htm]
    The object identifier column is a hidden column that Oracle uses to construct references to the row objects. *Oracle provides no access to the internal structure of object identifiers*. This structure can change at any time. Applications are only concerned with using object references for fetching and navigating objects.

    Couple of suggestions. First double-check that you actually have the RMI-IIOP stubs. Which version of SUN Appserver are you using. With versions 8.x or later, there are no RMI-IIOP stubs generated by default. You'd need to explicitly request that they be generated during deployment of the ejb app ( e.g. by setting the --generatermistubs option when running asadmin deploy).
    Also double-check that the stubs are indeed visible within the classpath of your web application. The most common reason for the ClassCastException during PortableRemoteObject.narrow is that the stubs were not found.

    Assuming that your applet is not in a jar file (don't see a value for archive)
    you have a file callsed ProcessStatus.class in a folder WEB-INF\classes relative to
    the location of the jsp file.
    So if the jsp file is in
    myJSPFileFolder
    the class should be in:
    myJSPFileFolder\WEB-INF\classes
    If you want to see when the jre is trying to load and where it it trying to load it from you
    can inspect a full trace, to turn the full trace on (windows) you can start the java console, to be found here:
    C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4...\bin\jpicpl32.exe
    In the advanced tab you can fill in something for runtime parameters fill in this:
    -Djavaplugin.trace=true -Djavaplugin.trace.option=basic|net|security|ext|liveconnect
    if you cannot start the java console check here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\userName\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.properties
    I think for linux this is somewhere in youruserdir/java (hidden directory)
    add or change the following line:
    javaplugin.jre.params=-Djavaplugin.trace\=true -Djavaplugin.trace.option\=basic|net|security|ext|liveconnect
    for 1.5:
    deployment.javapi.jre.1.5.0.args=-Djavaplugin.trace\=true -Djavaplugin.trace.option\=basic|net|security|ext|liveconnect
    The trace is here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\your user\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\log\plugin...log
    I think for linux this is somewhere in youruserdir/java (hidden directory)
    The trace should show something like :
    Caused by: java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://server/location/filename.class (The system cannot find the path specified)

  • How to download midlet in SDK from tomcat server on localhost

    how to download midlet OVER THE AIR in Java ME SDK 3 from tomcat server running on localhost
    THANKS!

    Hi,
    The most important thing is that you need to ensure that WebLogic is start the Java command with debugging options. This is in the JDev documentation in the topic "Starting a Java Process in Debug Mode".
    If you have JSP's and servlets you have other steps as well. I have included the generic steps for any application server. We have plans to post a 'How to remote debug JSP's deployed on Weblogic' in the near future. Keep posted.
    1. You need to replace WebLogic's JSP engine with OJSP and you need to
    setup debugging parameters for OJSP. This is not specifically in the JDev documentation, but you may be able to apply the information found in the topic "Remote Debugging in OC4J".
    Here are some tips:
    A. You'll probably need to specify the following jars in some WebLogic config file. The jar files are all located in <jdev_install>/lib/
    xmlparserv2.jar
    ojc.jar
    jdev-rt.jar
    ojsp.jar
    ojsputil.jar
    B. Add these jar files to the VM's classpath
    C. The OJSP class name is oracle.jsp.runtimev2.JspServlet. You will need to specify this class where you configure your JSP engine information.
    D. You need to pass the following debug parameters. Again this is set up in the app server configuration file(s):

    I moved my war file into my new Tomcat 4.0.4 webapps directory
    since I
    need to upgrade in order to use some 'other' tags and I'm
    receiving
    the following stacktrace when I try to hit the first page in my

    Any ideas as to why this is occurring?

  • Remove OID from database

    Hello,
    I am trying to install a new infrastructure instance without deleting the database. I need to delete or unregister the current internet directory from the metadata repository so that a new one can be installed. Does anyone know the steps to remove OID from a database cleanly so that it can be installed again to the same db? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Jordan

    Benny, use netmgr to do this. see Adding or Modifying Entries in the Directory Server http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/network.102/b14212/config_concepts.htm#i487299

  • How can we unregister OID from R12 when OID has crashed

    Our R12 Oracle Apps was registered with OID 10g. Somehow our OID has crashed.
    Now we have installed a new OID 10g from same installer.
    Now we want our R12 instance to deregister from old OID instance and register with new OID.
    How can I deregister old OID from R12 fully when our OID is not running and there is no hope for us to restore it?

    Did you review the following docs?

  • Migrating application from tomcat 3 to tomcat 5

    Hello everybody,
    Does anyone have information about some kind of manual or tutorial with steps to migrate applications from Tomcat 3 to Tomcat 5??
    Thanks a lot,
    Johnny

    What issues are you having? There have been some important changes between the Servlet and JSP specs between the two but most of these have been additions - nothing that will be too hard to handle.
    Does your application use a database? If so there have been configuration changes between Tomcat 3 and 5 but for that the Tomcat 5 docs are very good at telling you what you need.
    I would start by trying it and see where you get problems. I think it will be easier than you think, depending on how complicated your app is.

  • What are the steps to Migrate a Web Service from Tomcat to JBoss

    Hi,
    I am totally new to JBoss and need some help. I mostly worked on BEA and Oracle. I have a web service deployed on Tomcat that needs to be now migrated to JBoss. What are the steps in moving a web service from Tomcat to JBoss.
    Is there some step by step tutorial on developing and deploying a web service on JBoss along with sample build script.
    Any help is really appreciated.
    Thanks

    R u using axis. If you want to stick with axis and don't want to use JBossWS there is nothing else you need to do. Move all the axis to Jboss. If you plan to reimplement all ur services in JBossWS here it is:

  • Migrating WebServices app from Tomcat to Glassfish...

    Hello!
    I've a WebService app. which now runs on Tomcat 5.5.23 and was written using JAX-WS. I've install Sun Java System App. Server 9.0 and I intend to migrate our app. here.
    The application is delivered as a war file which I've already deployed in glassfish using admin GUI of asadmin. I can see our app. at WebApplications section but I can't see it under WebServices section, although it seems at a first view that the application works and respond to client's request.
    I'd like to ask you if I need to use a special tool for migrating our aplication or what I did is enough and there is no need for other changes.
    Thank you very much
    With best regards,
    Sorin

    If I understand correctly, you are trying to load a few properties files on WLS that is specific to an application that you are migrating from tomcat to WLS. If that is the case, then as per my understanding we have the following options:
    a. Add all the properties in a jar file and add the same to the classpath or place the same in the lib directory of the server which can be picked at the server start-up.
    b. Place the properties file in the domain home which should help.
    Refer: loading a new properties file without restarting the managed server
    c. Else place the properties files in the web-inf of the application, that should help.

  • JSPX Migration from Tomcat to OC4J

    We are migrating the web tier of our application from Tomcat 5 to OC4J 10.1.3.0.0. We are having a problem in our jspx files. The code below works in Tomcat but not in oc4j.
    <gc3:viewFieldText name="invoice/invoice_xid" valueIndicator="invoice/indicator">
    <jsp:attribute name="label">
    <x:when select="$mainNode/invoice_type = 'B'">field.invoice/bill_xid</x:when>
    <x:otherwise>field.invoice/invoice_xid</x:otherwise>
    </x:choose>
    </jsp:attribute>
    </gc3:viewFieldText>
    We are trying to dynamically set the label attribute of one of our custom tags using <jsp:attribute> and the jstl xtags. mainNode is a variable bound in the request and based on the result of the XPath expression, we want to dynamically set the label attribute. The XPath expression is correctly evaluated, however instead of passing the text within the x:when or x:otherwise to our custom tag, it just writes it out to the screen.
    If I remove the xtags from the code and hard code the label it works as shown below.
    <gc3:viewFieldText name="invoice/invoice_xid" valueIndicator="invoice/indicator">
    <jsp:attribute name="label">
    field.invoice/bill_xid
    </jsp:attribute>
    </gc3:viewFieldText>
    Let me know if you need any further information.

    Chad,
    10.1.3.0.0 was buggy.
    Try 10.1.3.1.0 or the latest: 10.1.3.2.0
    (Just a suggestion.)
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • From Tomcat-Apache to OC4J

    I4m migrating an application from Tomcat-Apache to OC4J. I have a problem whith a taglib in a Servlet call a JSP that use a taglib.
    In the JSP call a taglib whith:
    <%@ taglib uri="/oficios" prefix="portalOficios"%>
    <jsp:useBean id="resultado" scope="session" class="com.npevolution.util.SQLResult" />
    <portalOficios:iteracion nombres="codigo" tipo="String" group="<%= resultado%>">

    <%String campoNombProv =(String)pageContext.getAttribute("campo1");%>
    </portalOficios:iteracion>
    thank you;
    Esther

    I looked at the code after a jsp compiled to a servlet. The
    jspService method of "EditTmpForm.jsp" is about 801 KB. But for another jsp "EditOperation.jsp", the  jspService method is about 236 KB.
    Both are much greater than 64 K, but why it runs okay for "EditOperation.jsp" but gives me error for "EditTmpForm.jsp"?
    Furthermore, since the HTML form is long, so the HTML code itself is bigger than 64 K, how can you prevent your _jspService method so that is is shorter than 64K?
    Thanks for your help!
