OID/LDAP Custom Adapter
Anyone developed a Custom Adapter to populate OID/LDAP ?
We are integrating our CDH Customer Hub with OID and need a Custom Adapter to populate/synchronize OID from CDH.
I would be interested to see LDAP Adapter as native part of ESB in the future.
We had similar need recently and we decided to re-use our own existing PL/SQL based LDAP API. ESB runs Oracle procedures when LDAP operation is required.
It seems as overhead (db call to call LDAP) however it works fine. The additional plus is our LDAP API handle specific of each LDAP server (Oracle, Microsoft, Novell) and the same functionality is available thru ESB.

Regards,
Ravi.Your log files too give some hint... Please verify whether following files like .xldatabasekey are present in your environment:-
OIM application intialization failed because of the following reasons:
oim-config.xml was not found in MDS Repository.
Unable to find keystore ".xldatabasekey" in <DOMAIN_HOME>/config/fmwconfig/.
Password for OIMSchemaPassword is not seeded in CSF.
Password for xell is not seeded in CSF.
Password for DataBaseKey is not seeded in CSF.
Password for JMSKey is not seeded in CSF.
Password for .xldatabasekey is not seeded in CSF.
Password for default-keystore.jks is not seeded in CSF.
Password for SOAAdminPassword is not seeded in CSF.
I doubt whether OIM is properly installed in your environment otherwise .xldatabasekey would have been present in <DOMAIN_HOME>/config/fmwconfig..
Also, as far as Weblogic starting in ADMIN mode is concerned, you may try to do the following...
ps -eaf| grep AdminServer
Kill the process
Then remove the lok file. i.e. Lock files...
rm -rf /home/oracle/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/oimdomain/servers/oim_server1/tmp/*oim_server1.lok*
rm -rf /home/oracle/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/oimdomain/servers/soa_server1/tmp/*soa_server1.lok*
rm -rf /home/oracle/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/oimdomain/servers/AdminServer/tmp/*AdminServer.lok*
After that
Take the backup of /home/oracle/Oracle/Middleware/user_projects/domains/<DOMAIN_HOME>/servers/AdminServer/data/ldap/ldapfiles (I mean CUT this folder and save it in Backup folder..
Share the result with us.... -
Modify WavesetResult in a custom adapter
Hello,
I have a custom adapter which extends the standard LDAP one.
In the realUpdate method I do some custom processing to effectively update the cn (naming attribute) to workaround this limitation of the standard LDAP adapter:
protected void realUpdate (WSUser user, WavesetResult result) throws WavesetException {
super.realUpdate(user, result);
// some custom processing here
what I'd like now is to get rid of the information message saying "Attribute 'firstname' maps to 'cn' on {2}. Modifying naming attribute 'cn' is not supported. 'cn' not updated." Since the cn is actually modified. I've seen that it is stored in the "result" object (result.getResults().toString() shows it in the trace)
I tried several things:
- result.remove* methods => java.util.ConcurrentModificationException !
- result = new WavesetException(); => no effect, the message still appears after the "Save" button is clicked...
of course I tried these things at the end of the custom method, not before the super.realUpdate() call ;-)
I'm running out of ideas there. Can someone help me?
Thanks.Do you thoroughly understand the reason why the adapter refuses to modify the CN attribute?
If so, redefine the following method in the adapter:
protected boolean addAttributes(LDAPObject ldapObject, WSUser user, String operation, WavesetResult result) -
LDAP integration - "LDAP Import adapter warning: No LDAP entry was defined"
Hi,
I am trying to integrate ETPM with LDAP (Microsoft AD). I have successfully connected Weblogic and can see the AD users there; I followed the instructions in the "Oracle Utilities Application Framework Administartion User's Guide" on how to integrate with LDAP:
1) I defined the JNDI server
2) I created a mapping file as described
3) registered the file within XAIParameterInfo.xml and MPLParamaterInfo
WHen i try to import users via the LDAP Import menu the reponse is empty, in the logs I see the following message: "LDAP Import adapter warning: No LDAP entry was defined". Does anybody have had similar issues and maybe a solution to this issue?
My versions:
Customer Release V4.1.0 000 000
Oracle Enterprise Taxation Management V2.3.1.1.0 001 001
Oracle Utilities Application Framework V4.1.0.1.0 001 000
My assumption is there is something wrong with the config, as all other connection (including the one from Weblogic) are successful.
I appreciate any feedback on this.
Best regards,
SebastianWould have liked to post an update in my other post, but that one is locked. I found so many problems with the LDAP integration but eventually managed. If anyone runs into similar issues, here is what you need to check:
1) AD admin user password - is limited to 8 characters (nowhere mentioned in the docs!!!)
2) Be careful using cases; do NOT rely on the documentation, it is wrong! here is a sample ldapdef.xml (I highlighted the changes you need to make in comparison to the documentation):
<LDAPEntries>

Jabber Windows - no phone control with LDAP Custom filter
I am unable to control the desktop phone from the Jabber 9.1 Windows client when the CallManager LDAP Directory uses a Custom Filter.
Has anyone else experienced this?
If I set the LDAP Custom Filter to <none> and save, then Desktop Phone control works great.
If I set it to use my custom filter, then trying to enable Desktop control just gives me the spinning circle, then times out to the Red X symbol.
I do not need to resync the LDAP Directory to get the error, just enable/disable the custom filter and save.
In both cases calling from the Computer works great.
This is an On-Prem deployment with full MS-AD LDAP integration.
Versions are:
Jabber - 9.1.0 build 12296
CUPC - 8.6.4.11900-1
CUCM - 8.6.2.22900-9
I upgraded to CUCM 8.6.2 SU2 last night hoping that would fix the problem, but no luck.
The LDAP filter is one I have used in numerous other clusters with no CTI issues.
It allows me to sync to the root directory, but only import active user accounts with an entry in the ipPhone AD attribute:
(&((objectclass=user)(ipPhone=*))(!(objectclass=Computer))(!(UserAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2)))
Thanks, RandyHi Randy,
Have you specified this base filter in jabber-config.xml file? As per Admin Guide:
"In some cases, base filters do not return query results if you specify a closing bracket in your Cisco Jabber for Windows configuration file. For example, this issue might occur if you specify the following base filter: (&(memberOf=CN=UCFilterGroup,OU=DN))
To resolve this issue, remove the closing bracket; for example, (&(memberOf=CN=UCFilterGroup,OU=DN)"
Thanks,

SAP PI crashes because of Custom Adapter module
Hi,
We are facing a strange problem. We have deployed a custom adapter module developed in java which accesses a Hardware Security Module(HSM) and uses the keys in HSM to digitally sign our data. Now, when I use particular methods in this code and deploy it on PI server, the server crashes while testing this out. As soon as I run the channel having this adapter module, PI server becomes unavailable. It restarts on its own after a few minutes.
One of the reasons I identified to be causing this issue is the signing mechanism used in code. When I used a mechanism that was not supported or not correct, it crashed the server. If i corrected it, it worked fine. I found no other thing in my code causing this behaviour apart from this mechanism. But I am still not able to understand how a single method in a code can cause the whole server to crash. Has anybody here faced such a problem? Any pointers would be appreciated.
We are using SAP PI 7.31 java only installation.
Thanks,
Ravi DesaiHi Ravi
1. To check if it is a memory issue. Once you start the channel, check the memory usage in nwa. Check if the memory is increasing once the channel is started.
2. Add debug statements to print logs in default traces at as many places as possible. Since your code is not reaching the Catch block, using the debug statement you can reach the line in the code which is causing this issue.

Calling web Service from the Custom Adapter. Is it Possible?
Hi Experts,
I am having requirment in which i have to cal com.sap.aii.mapping.lookup.LookupService for calling web Service from the Custom Adapter. Is it Possible?
Regards,
Rajesh.DHi Rajesh..
Just looking the problem in another angle.. if there is no constraint that you have to use XI specific API to call the web service, why dont you use usual Java API used for calling a web service inside you custom adapter (I have Microsoft background.. donno exactly how it is done in Java,, but in .NET kind of a language it is possible). SInce your adapter is in Java itself and is capable of calling web service.. collect or lookup the data whatever you want and validate...
Just a thought..

How to invoke a custom adapter from a BPEL process
Hi guys,
I've implemented a custom outbound adapter and deployed successfully on Weblogic V.10.3.4.
My current installation also consists of Oracle SOA Suite 11g / JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.4.0)
In the Weblogic administrator's console,
*1.* I navigated to:
Summary of Deployments -> AdapterName -> Configuration -> Outbound Connection Pools
*2.* Selected: javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory and added new JNDI name for Outbound Connection Instance: "*eis/HelloWorld*"
My task is to invoke the custom adapter from a BPEL process.
I altered the customAdapter-config.xml so as to be able to use custom adapter wizard from JDeveloper's "Service Adapters" palette,
and fullfilled the custom adapter wizard's fields accordingly. The 3rd step of the wizard requires Connection Information.
I added: "*eis/HelloWorld*" in the "*Connection Factory Location*" field.
Deployed BPEL process successfully, but testing failed due to binding.jca-12510 error:
"The JCA Binding Component was unable to establish an outbound JCA CCI connection due to the following issue: BINDING.JCA-12510 JCA Resource Adapter location error. Unable to locate the JCA Resource Adapter via .jca binding file element <connection-factory/> The JCA Binding Component is unable to startup the Resource Adapter specified in the <connection-factory/> element: location='eis/HelloWorld'. The reason for this is most likely that either 1) the Resource Adapters RAR file has not been deployed successfully to the WebLogic Application server or 2) the '<jndi-name>' element in weblogic-ra.xml has not been set to eis/HelloWorld. In the last case you will have to add a new WebLogic JCA connection factory (deploy a RAR). Please correct this and then restart the Application Server "I tried to apply (just for testing) "eis/FileAdapter" in the "Connection Factory Location" field of the custom adapter wizard,
and BPEL successfully invoked the adapter.
Any ideas ?
Thanks,
GeorgeGeorge, What deployment do you have this associated with?

Troubles with the creation of New Custom Adapter for NW 7.1
Hi guys !!!
I have some troubles with the creation of a new custom adapter for NW 7.1. I have followed some pdf and notes, like :
[Upgrade an SAP NetWeaver PI 7.0 Adapter to SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/d0667f56-96c7-2b10-0e9a-c40fbd523f4d]
note : 1004000
I have all the materials to make the custom Adapter ( like file .sca with all .rar and .sda , like file sample_ra.rar with all the file .java, like all the libs for the projects ) and I have make it !!! But, when I try do deploy it, i recieve a warning that i don't understand, this is the warning :

I have see in the nwa if there are some applications or services that are stopped but all the necessary it's started, just one question : in the pdf for upgrade from 7.0 to 7.1 no one speaks about ejBean or about a creation of it ... it's necessary an ejBean ?? Beacause in the file .sda of the file .sca that i have downloaded there are more of the adapter with ejBean ....
AntonelloHi,
the adapter metadata it's been created but my service is still stopped; when I try to start it, in the NDWS -> Deploy view -> tab Repositary view, I receive this errors, one after the other, cause I try to start it 3 times and in each time I received 3 differents errors :

Unable to deploy custom adapter module in PI 7.31
Hi pros,
I created a custom adapter module to split some complex input files to multiple messages. We use a SAP PO 7.31 java-only installation. I followed this document to create my adapter module:
How to Create Modules for the JEE Adapter Engine
I know it is for PI 7.1 but a colleague of mine said that he was able to create a running adapter module for PI 7.3 following the guide. I created the following projects:
EAR project references the EJB project:
Project facet of the EJBproject:
ejb-jar.xml config:
application-j2ee-engine.xml (in EAR project):
When I try to deploy my module, I get the following error:
Java version:
NWDS version:
Any hint is appreciated! What can be wrong? What can I check again?
THANKS!
Message was edited by: Stefan MünchowI am not sure if the version is the problem. We have PI 7.31, support package 14, patch level 0 and NWDS 7.31 support package 12, patch level 4. The version of NWDS is lower than the version of the PI. According to Note 1599298 the error occurs when the NWDS is higher than the one of PI. Besides, we are able to deploy BPMN processes with the same NWDS to the same server.

Class Cast Exception in a custom adapter processing module
Hi,
I am trying to create a Custom adapter module in my file adapter as a Local enterprise Bean.
I have taken the "ConvertCRLFfromToLF" sample given by SAP as a reference, created an EJB module project, and deployed the enterprise archive to the J2EE engine.
However, i am getting a Class Cast Exception in the Adapter Engine for my communication channel.
Any help on this will much appreciated.
Thanks & Regards,
Renjith.HI,
Managed to solve this..this was due to the additional jars which was included by the Developer Studio in the EAR file. We have to remoce the jars from the EAR, change the application.xml and sap_manifest.mf files to give reference to the jars already deployed in the J2EE engine.
Thanks & Regards,

Developing Custom Adapter in PI by using Sample Adapter provided
Hi Experts,
I am developing a custom adapter by looking into below link.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/69/e1e6667710415a9c331ec2e0715561/frameset.htm
Could anyone please clarify the below Queries.
1. Which project needs to be created as RAR file. Step1 or Step2 Project folder in NWDS?
2. How to create the RAR file.
Thanks in advance...Hi Veerendra,
I was keep on trying the same from so many days. As you told, i have exported project "Test" as jar file and added it to connector module folder. Then, I exported "Test_RAR" as J2EE RAR and it was deployed with the following warnings.

and i have created NameSpace, Adapter metadata using YourAdapterName.xml and also Comm channel in ID. But while checking in Comm Channel monitoring it shows an error like... "No adapter registered for this channel".
While checking in sdn regarding the warnings in NWDS. It says that "application alias already exists". I couldn't figure it out.
Please let me know if u have any solution for this. Your reply is highly appreciated. -
Custom adapter module deployment in PI 7.1
We upgrade XI 3.0 to PI 7.1. However, I dont see SDM directory anymore which is what I had used to deploy my custom adapter module.
Is there a different way to deploy custom adapter module in 7.1? Is SDM discontinued?
When I try to deploy the ear file from NWDS directly I get deployment exception error
"Deployment exception : Cannot determine sdm host (is empty). Please configure your engine/sdm correctly !".
I have given the message server host and port correctly in preferences.
I am using NWDS 7 and JAVA SDK 1.4.2.15.
Is there a new procedure to deploy custom adapters in PI 7.1?

Returning synchronous error notification to calling application: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: java.lang.ClassCastException: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.transport.TransportHeaders.
Transmitting the message using connection http://XXXXX:8000/sap/xi/engine?type=entry failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: java.lang.ClassCastException: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.transport.TransportHeaders.

Edited by: KUNAAL MASIH on Feb 2, 2009 11:39 AMHi,
i am just guessing.........i think you have developed a custom adpater module for a adapter which you are using in a synchronous scenario..........so i think what has happened is that for your first req msg's response when came to your custom adpater module is erroring due to some reason..........so just check whether you are doing some processing for the synch response in your custom adapter module.

Help required in OIM-OID LDap Synch and GTC flat file connector

Once I am doing TRUSTED FLAT FILE GTC recon to OIM, the users are getting created in OIM without any password and due to that my users are not getting created in OID(Ldap Synch is enabled);
The following exception is getting thrown:

I tried to use post process event handler on create but while updating password its saying the user state is not in synch with OID.
So I am unable to use post process event handlers as well.
Regards,
JThanks Sunny,
But the post process event handler with reset/update password is not working on CREATE;
the following error message is being thrown:
oracle.iam.platform.kernel.EventFailedException: Password reset failed because user JSMITH151 is not synchronized to the LDAP directory.

at oracle.iam.platform.kernel.impl.OrchProcessData.executeEvents(OrchProcessData.java:227)
at oracle.iam.platform.kernel.impl.OrchestrationEngineImpl.resumeProcess(OrchestrationEngineImpl.java:665)
In 11.1.1.3 OIM, I found the password was available for mapping in GTC connector, but in OIM 11.1.1.5, oracle has removed the password mapping attribute.
Can you please suggest?
I checked with Oracle Support, They are saying in OIM 11.1.1.5 they have introduced a new post process event handler which should generate the password on every trusted reconcilication event.
But in my environment its not behaving like that.

J
