OID problem!!

I have a windows server 2003 small business machine...
I've tried to install Oracle Identity Management Infrastructure.. The installation is completed successfully, but i've some problems with the instances of the directory server... (the system can't start them, and so the enterprise manager do not display them because they are down). I must use the ldap server (with internet directory) for my identity/access system... The system sometimes says that have problem with the connection to the db...
Please help me.. what is the problem???

Hello,
We are trying to monitor two stacks of CISCO WS-c3750X running IOS 12.2.(58)SE.
We can get the state of the power supplies, but after a power cycle or reboot of the switches the identifier of ONE of the Power supplies ALWAYS change. The OIDs for the rest of the PS do not vary. The problem happens in the two stacks.
Any idea or work around?

Has anyone ever solved the OID problem on redhat 8

I have noted the OID assistant failing on RedHat 8 problem discussed in a number of threads in this forum but haven't seen anyone with a clear solution. Her is how far I have gotten.

Synchronize AD account into OID problems

I have successfully synchronized some AD account into OID.
However, for any AD user that has comma in between (e.g. cn=lastname, username) cannot be synchronized to OID. Output from bootstrap log file shows error for those accounts.
Can anyone help me how to resolve this problem?

I have other workaround which is to replace "comma" with "_" (underscore) and change the order to be "Firstname_Lastname" using this mapping:
cn: : :person:cn: :person:givenName+"_"+trunc(name,',')

I'm getting an error message once I log into my Lakeland Acct. is read an OID problem

My college recommended that I download Firefox.
I was able to log into our Blackboard yesterday.
But, today it's providing andOID error message and will not allow me to log into Blackboard.

Apparently this occurs when Firefox has problems with security certificates. There have been a few questions about this. I will try to get advice about this.
Apparently you are using Internet Explorer 9 (From your system details). Do you have Google Updater plugin installed on Firefox ?
(That been implicated in this sort of problem by one poster, and some users with the problem do have Google Updater, but some do not)

Can I connect open source evolution mail client to an OCS Mail Server?

Hi.
I'm trying to configure an evolution mail client to connect to OCS Mail Server. The idea would be to evaluate this solution over costly MS Outlook. I'm aware that Oracle provides a connector for outlook client and that this facility might offer certain functionality not available with other mail clients. So far, i can connect, send and receive mails. However i can't access the distribution list in Oracle Mail Server, or put in other words, i can't access the OID. Evolution offers the option to connect to an ldap server, but i've not been able to connect. The guys as Metalink tell me that if this client can connect to an ldap server one could accessed the distribution list in OID.
So :
- Has anyone out there tried to connect this mail client or any other open source mail client to OCS Mail Server?.
- Can evolution client really connect to an ldap server? one like OID?.

I have in the past used different mail clients to connect to the OCS. So as a fact as long as they speak POP3 or IMAP you should be capable of reading your mails.
However I did not try to use the distribution lists.
What exactly is not working with the connection to the OID (LDAP) from the Evolution client?
Did you try to set the logging in the OID to a higher value? This helped me lots of times when dealing with OID problems.

Problems with AS 10g and OID

we got problems with starting OC4J_bi_forms component in AS control.
database: 10g R2 (10.2.0.1)
forms and reports: 10g (10.1.2.0.2.)
designer: 10g (10.1.2.0.2.)
1. we tried to start component in AS control but we get this error:

OC4J : home - time out while waiting for a managed process to start
OC4J : OC4J_BI_Forms - time out while waiting for a managed process to start

thank you very much for your help, we are now able to start oc4j_bi_forms.
We follow your advice, at the end we had to change ODS password with oidpasswd to ias_admin password.
Now all components are started.
We now must solve only one problem:
All AS components are started, but when in Application Server Control we click link for

Problem using the SNMP OID to query the in use and available ds0 channels?

When using the MIB CISCO-POP-MGMT-MIB, particularly the OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.19.1.1.9.1.3.0.0 or .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.10.19.1.1.4
I have a pair of 2811 voice Gateways, both running IOS c2800nm-spservicesk9-mz.124-24.T4.bin
The value for active calls from 1 of the gateways is correct.
The value fromthe second is 4294967278
Has anyone seen this issue before, could it be a problem with firmware on the E1 card?
Can you check the firmware from the command line on the router.

Problem integrating BPEL with OID

Problem configuring SOA suite to use OID for authentication

We are in the process of rebuilding our environment to use the full SOA suite with our OID server for authentication (was previously just BPEL using AD directly), and have encountered several problems (below). We have rebuilt the OID server, and reinstalled the SOA suite into a clean ORACLE_HOME to no avail.
We first rebuilt the OID server using the following steps (derived from Oracle® Internet Directory Administrator's Guide):
1)     Create the Import and Export profiles for AD synchronization. We did this using the Directory Integration and Provisioning Server Administration tool under “Active Directory Configuration”
2)     Modify the map file to specify the correct OU mappings between AD and OID.
3)     Update the profile with the new map file using “dipassistant.bat mp”
4)     Bootstrap the import profile using “dipassistant.bat bootstrap”
5)     Start a new instance of the Integration server (odisrv) running on config set 1 (the config set containing the Active Directory import/export profiles) using “oidctl”
6)     Set the Import profile to Enable. The OID server does not export changes to AD in our current configuration, so the Export profile is left on disable (and not bootstrapped)
At this point it appears that the AD synchronizes correctly into our new OID server.
Next we installed the SOA suite:
1)     We ran “irca.bat” on our database server to create the ORABPEL, ORAESB, and ORAWSM schemas and associated integration repository structure.
2)     After launching the SOA suite installer, we selected Advanced Install.
3)     On the next screen, we selected J2EE Server, Web Server, and SOA Suite.
4)     We then provided the credentials for our Oracle database, and the passwords for ORABPEL, ORAESB, and ORAWSM.
5)     We configured our new AS instance as an administration instance, but did not opt to use from a separate HTTP server, and did not make this instance part of an OAS cluster topology.
And finally, we configured our new SOA suite instance to use OID for authentication (using the instructions in Oracle® BPEL Process Manager Administrator's Guide section 2.1.3):
1)     Used the configure_oid.bat command to seed OID with required users only.
2)     Logged into the OracleAS Control Console
3)     Chose the oc4j_soa instance, then Administration->Security->Identity Management
4)     Configured the OID server using a non-ssl connection and the cn=orcladmin account.
5)     When prompted, chose to reconfigure all applications in the oc4j_soa instance to OID, but not to use SSO for any of them.
6)     Copied the contents of ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\home\config\jazn.xml to ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\oc4j_soa\config\jazn.xml
7)     Restarted the application server.
After this procedure, we encountered the following issues:
1)     The BPEL console appears to authenticate users correctly out of OID, but no users have access to the default domain, including bpeladmin and oc4jadmin. All users receive a similar access denied message when attempting to log into the BPEL Admin Console.
2)     We cannot upload a BPEL process to our new server via JDeveloper’s standard BPEL deployment mechanisms. The connection appears to be working properly and passes all tests, but on uploading a process we get a Java AccessDeniedException. ESB appears to be functioning properly, and accepts uploaded projects without issue.

We recently configured our SOA Suite to use OID and SSO. We had the same issues you are having, and we found the resolutions in a blog from Jaas Poot (http://blog.jpoot.com/category/oracle-appserver/oid-ldap/). For the BPEL domain access, this involved going to the data-sources.xml file and changing the database passwords from using ->pwForOrabpel for the orabpel schema and ->pwForOraesb for the oraesb schema to the real passwords; the blog explains more about this.
The blog also covers the JDeveloper deployment issue, and another issue we encountered, where we couldn't access the BPEL Admin console. All of these were resolved following the steps in the blog.

I try to register a database version 9.2 in my ldap OID 10.1.2 with utility dbca (for implementing user enterprise) , I have executed this operation for an 10.2 database without problem.
I don't use wallet just password authentification.
dbca have create an entry in my spfile, rdbms_server_dn. But when no entry is created in my OID...
If someone have an idea.

I am not sure if you were able to resolve it or not. In case not then here is the solution. you have to create a wallet using owm for 9i database and then generate a certificate using oca( thats a default certificate authority that oracle provides). once you generate the certificate in oca, import it in wallet. specify wallet location in sqlnet.ora of this 9i database. After completing these steps you should be able to register.

Problem with provisioning to particular OU in OID through OIM

Please go through the following issue and suggest.
I have integrated OIM with OID for provisioning purpose through OID connector.Iam prepopulating OU structure in the "Container DN" field in the process form of OID through an adapter.
For example : "ou=BG,o=shipper,dc=xoserve,dc=com" is the Container DN iam prepopulating in OID process form and the user is getting provisioned to OID within the same structure(That structure already exists in OID).
But when I dont have an "ou" in OID, suppose if i want to provision the user to something like "o=Network,dc=xoserve,dc=com"(note this one dont have ou),iam prepopulating "o=Network,dc=xoserve,dc=com" in the process form but iam not able to provision the user.In the console iam seeing the error like

I have tried that and it works fine. But all my DNs are not of same structure. Some are like "cn=userid,ou=abc,o=cde,dc=fgh,dc=com" and some are like "cn=userid,o=cde,dc=fgh,dc=com" and there comes the problem.The value of ldapOrgDNprefix is overwriting my DN which is generated perfectly through my adapter.
I dont want that Lookup.OID.Configuration to overwrite my DN.Pls suggest...

I am having a problem with OIM 9.1.0 + OID

The change resolved the issue, Thanks a lot :).
But when i give Organisation DN as "" (I just cleared the value in the process form), The provisioning is failed.
Is this Organisation DN a mandatory attribute????
Also it would be great if you could share the rational behind those changes.

OBIEE 11.1.1.6 SSO with OAM 11.1.1.5: OID 11.1.1.6 attribute problem

Hi Everyone!
I have configured a OAM(webgate)+OID+OBIEE+OHS system.
The OBIEE is protected via OHS(weblogic module) and webgate. It is working very well.
The OAM authenticates from OID(default user identity store).
The *"User Search Base"* is same ( *"cn=Users,dc=mydomain,dc=com"* ) in identity store and in OBIEE's OID authentication provider too.
The SSO is enabled in OBIEE and the providers are:
OID (Provider that performs LDAP authentication     1.0) SUFFICIENT
OAM Provider (Oracle Access Manager Identity Asserter     1.0) REQUIRED
DefaultAuthenticator     (WebLogic Authentication Provider     1.0) SUFFICIENT
DefaultIdentityAsserter
IF the *"User Name Attribute"* is *"cn"* in OAM's user identity store and the OBIEE's OID provider's *"user name attribute"* is *"cn"* (default) too, everything is working fine.
But I have to use *"orclSAMAccountName"* instead of *"cn"* (OAM and OID provider). And in this case I have the problem.
In the OBIEE's OID provider are:
All Users Filter: (&(orclSAMAccountName=*)(objectclass=person))
User From Name Filter: (&(orclSAMAccountName=%u)(objectclass=person))
User Name Attribute: orclSAMAccountName
I made a test user:
cn=test

Why does search OBIEE the *"cn"* and why does not use the *"orclsamaccountname"* ?

We have configured OBIEE 11.1.1.6 on Linux and using Single Sign On (SSO) with Windows Native Authentication (WNA).
Configured AD Authenticator, selected sAMAccountName instead of CN for User Attribute. Enabled SSO in EM. When trying to access OBIEE Presentation services we have encountered the error below.
"You are not logged in here: Oracle BI Server."
When checking the biserver1 log file found : [Security:090300]Identity Assertion Failed: User OracleSystemUser does not exist
After applying the patch 13553428 on top of OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0 we have successfully logged into OBIEE Presentation services.
This works fine with OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 and 11.1.1.6.1
Fixed in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.1. Apply Patch 13742915.
If you want to stay in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0. Apply Patch 13553428.
