OID replication on different OS

I cant find anywhere in the documentation where it confirms or denies if you can have OID replication (Fan-out or Multimaster) running on two different OS's eg one on Windows and one on UNIX. Has anyone tried this? knows if it works or not?
Many thanks

Possible in a HA environment

  • Replication between different db versions?

Can anyone tell me what limitations there might be performing data replication between different oracle database versions?
    Thanks

Depends on the versions and what exactly you mean by "replication", since there are a variety of technologies that may fall under that umbrella.
You can't directly replicate data between a 7.3.4 database and a 10.1 database, for example. You can use a variety of replication technologies between a 9.2 database and a 10.1 database-- materialized views, multi-master materialized views, Streams, transportable tablesspaces-- though you cannot use things like DataGuard, which may fall under the replication umbrella in some cases.

  • OID Replication - Unable to test Oracle Net connections to a node with SQL

    Hi all,
I am implementing OID replication and currently stuck on the verification part where I should use SQL*Plus to verify if TNSNAMES.ORA is configured correctly.
First server installed as a regular OID installation. Second server is installed with a high availability option.
    Server1: name: server. Domain: domain.com
    Server2: name: oid1. Domain: galaxy.com
    My TSNAMES.ORA:
    ORCL =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = server.domain.com)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)
    OIDREP =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = oid1.galaxy.com)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)
So, the configuration instructions state to test both WITH and WITHOUT the domain name:
IMPORTANT: Test Oracle Net connections to all nodes from each node in the DRG.
    Use SQL*Plus. Test both system@net_service_name and system@net_service_name.domain.
IF THIS DOES NOT WORK, THEN ASR REPLICATION SETUP WILL NOT BE SUCCESSFUL!
So, my SQL*Plus statement "*sqlplus "sys/abcd1234@orcl as sysdba"* works just fine.
But the command "*sqlplus "sys/[email protected] as sysdba"* fails with ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
Thanks in advance for your input.

    Vijay,
Thank you for your help. I was able to connect to my first instance without any issues. My next problem is updating TSNAMES with the second server, I am still getting the error message when connecting via SQLPLUS. May be my SQL statement wrong?
sqlplus sys/[email protected] as sysdba" or sqlplus sys/abcd1234@OIDREP as sysdba Neither one is working :(
Here is my TSNAMES. For now, I am using IP addresses
    ORCL =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.192.141)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =

    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.192.141)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)
    OIDREP =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = 192.168.192.137)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)
    OIDREP.GALAXY.COM =

  • Export/import OiD users on different platform

    Hi,
I am trying to migrate 9.0.2 from NT to UNIX environment and as a first step I need to move all the users from OiD on NT machine to OiD on Sun Solaris. Does anyone know of any good documentation for this? Or has anyone done this sucessfully before?
Thanks in advence for yor help.

We have moved users in Oracle 9iAs Release 2 from a Linux machine to a Linux machine (different versions of Linux). This was done by first creating a LDIF file and then using bulkload. While this seemed to be a total pain at first once it was done it proved quite easy.

TimesTen does not support replication between dissilmilar hardware or O/S nor between 32 and 64 bit versions. So, regardless of port numbers, this setup cannot work.

  • Vendor Replication and Different Back-end Systems

    Hello,
Currently, we have vendor replication were the vendor number from the back-end is used in SRM-EBP.  Now, we want add another back-end but there are vendor number conflicts.  Is there a way to configure it so that the new back-end replicaition generates new numbers in SRM-EBP?
Honestly, there should be a cleansing and alignment of vendor numbers between the two back-end systems. However, that is big task that the organization doea not want to take on at this time.
Has anyone encounter this issue and how did you resolve it?

    Hi,
You can find option "If R/3 number assignment is not possible: Internal number assignment" in the bottom of BBPGETDV transaction screen.

  • HR Org Replication into different plan version in SRM

    Dear SRM Gurus,
I have an org plan in HR (Plan Version 01) which I want to replicate into a newly created plan version "EL" in SRM. But this at the moment is not my "current plan version". So only after replication is successfully I want to change "current plan version" in SRM from "01" to "EL".
Question: is there any place where I can decide, into which SRM plan version I want to replicate my HR Org-Plan into?
    Thanks and kind regards

You can implement this badi HRALE00OUTBOUND_IDOC and set dummy addresses. Or put a filter at the model view for the infotype 0006

  • Transactional Replication configure into different domains

    Hi team,
We have two domain, we need actual data immediate from domain one to domain two.
In this scenario we are paling to configure the transactional replication from domain one to domain two.
How to configure the transactional replication for different domains.

Replication across non-trusted domains or workgroups can be done using SQL Authentication end to end or you can use Windows Authentication by configuring
    pass-through authentication.
Pass-through authentication can be configured by creating a local Windows account on both the Publisher and Subscriber that has
the same username and password.  Use this account for the replication agent process account and have the connections to the publisher, distributor, and/or subscriber impersonate this account. Ensure the account
    has the permissions required in
    Replication Agent Security Model.
This approach is covered in the section Use Windows Authentication to Set Up Replication Between Two Computers Running SQL Server in Non-Trusted Domains in
HOW TO: Replicate Between Computers Running SQL Server in Non-Trusted Domains or Across the Internet.

So the OIDCA couldn't see that the DB was running?
Did you install OID on a different server than the
DB? I am having the "OID could not be started",
error and can't seem figure it out. No, the DB wasn't running at all.
There was something else fish about the server configuration. I tried doing another clean install on another machine and it worked fine so this is not a general thing with 2000 server. I am still trying to compare all network settings etc. that might have been different between the two machines.

  • Database replication between 2ACSs (V4.0 & V4.1)

    Hi All,
    1. ACS in production in the N/W:
    Release 4.0(1) Build 44
2.Installed recently another ACS serer for backup purposes and currently as no Data :Release 4.1(1) Build 23
    Now...
    a. Will it be possible to (auto)replicate between these two vesrions.
b.Will some one provide steps/links to configure replication and any required configuration changes to make sure (1) is primary & (2) backup [incase primary fails)
    Thanks in advance.
    MS

Cisco does not recommend to do replication between different versions of ACS.
I have also seen dissimilar versions to cause problems like database corruption, though it might work in some case.
To be on safer side keep both ACS on same version and only then replicate.
Following link can help you configure replication:
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/access/acs_soft/csacs4nt/acs41/user/scadv.htm#wp756476
For configuring Backup ACS incase primary fails you need to configure backup server on the AAA client (router, switch) because only AAA client will forward the request to secondary server in case primary fails.

  • Help on OID wih HA?

    Hi, OID expert,
My customer is trying to implement OID (Oracle Identity Management 10.1.4) in HA (High Availability) environment.
    Right now we have,
(1). Two Linux Clusters with two nodes in each cluster. (node1 and node2 in Cluster1, and node3 and
    node4 in Cluster2).
(2). We are installing two RAC 10g Database on each cluster now. (CRS, ASM and 10g RAC Database)
(3). We will get Load Balancer for each clusters.
(4). It's better to get OID Replication between the RAC database.
Customer wants to build OID with HA to support Production system. Which architecture or topology we should follow.
Can we build AS cluster on Cluster1 and Cluster2 and do the OID replication between Cluster1 and Cluster2?
We are struggling on which Topology we should follow, AS Cluster, AS Cold Failover, OID Replication, or AS Guard to fully use
the two clusters or load balancers?
    Many thanks for any input!!

    hi qi,

Maintaining the HTTP Service Port of the XI Adapter Framework
To enable load balancing between the Integration Server and the central Adapter
Framework, the hostname property used for the SLD registration of a J2EE server node
       needs to be adapted.
To change this, go to the Visual Administrator of the J2EE installation. Open a server
node of the cluster and select the service SAP XI AF CPA Cache. Enter the virtual
hostname and the ports of the SAP Web Dispatcher for the properties:
         SLD.selfregistration.hostName
         SLD.selfregistration.httpPort
         SLD.selfregistration.httpsPort
Repeat this procedure for all server nodes of the J2EE cluster.

  • OID roles Not reflecting in OBIEE

    Hello All,
We have OID integration of OBIEE Architecture. We are assigning the Users various group which they belong to and that doesn't get reflected immediately, it needs the restart of OBIEE Services.
So every time the New Roles gets added does it need bounce of services? Is there any work around for this. We are using 10.1.3.3.1. OID is on different physical Machine.
    Thanks

    Hello -
By default, the RPD caches the session variable initialization blocks for session variables are set to use caching, and I think this may be your issue.
Log into the RPD and choose Manage ==> Variables. Select the initialization block that is being used for the OID integration, then double click on the GROUP variable. Next, click the "Edit Data Target..." button. On this screen, you will find a "use caching" check box. Uncheck this box, click OK, and save the RPD. I'm not sure if you have to, but you may want to bounce the services one last time for good measure to put your changes into effect. This should then allow you to make changes to your roles without having to bounce the services in the future.
    I hope this helps!

  • OID-23054 Error: failure getting the attribute

    Hi,
I have set up OID replication among three servers. One server being the Supplier, and the rest two are Consumers. The replication is working fine but one of the consumer is applying the replication way later than the other consumer. After looking at the logs, I'm seeing the below error messages constantly. One of the consumers transport, and apply the changes instantaneously and without any errors. But, the other consumer transport the change instantly but takes time to apply it.
