OID roles Not reflecting in OBIEE

Hello All,
We have OID integration of OBIEE Architecture. We are assigning the Users various group which they belong to and that doesn't get reflected immediately, it needs the restart of OBIEE Services.
So every time the New Roles gets added does it need bounce of services? Is there any work around for this. We are using 10.1.3.3.1. OID is on different physical Machine.

By default, the RPD caches the session variable initialization blocks for session variables are set to use caching, and I think this may be your issue.
Log into the RPD and choose Manage ==> Variables. Select the initialization block that is being used for the OID integration, then double click on the GROUP variable. Next, click the "Edit Data Target..." button. On this screen, you will find a "use caching" check box. Uncheck this box, click OK, and save the RPD. I'm not sure if you have to, but you may want to bounce the services one last time for good measure to put your changes into effect. This should then allow you to make changes to your roles without having to bounce the services in the future.

Essbase member modifications not reflecting in OBIEE after a refresh

I am getting the following message in my developed reports , after changing certain member names (adding / removing members also) of ENTITY dimension in essbase .
[nQSError: 96002] Essbase Error: Unknown Member Total India Entity 1 used in query (HY000)
After selecting the renamed members only the report is working , i.e from specified ENTITY report filters I had to select , Total India (old name : Total India Entity 1) .
Reload server metadata or refresh is not helping ... Is there any setup , which will directly reflect these changes in dashboard without repeatedly selecting new members in analysis .
OBIEE version : 11.1.1.6

Just to clarify my question :
I have a dimension named ENTITY , it has several generation under it (gen1,gen2,gen3 etc .) .
for example , gen1 has member total region and no region .
gen2 has UK and US region .
gen 3 has manchester , london , new york , manhatton .
In the report i'm using ENTITY .gen3 = manchester , london , new york , manhatton ..... this filter.
Now , I am renaming (changing) gen 3 members like liverpool , birmigham , california , washington .
So , after refreshing dashboard , will these member names automatically gets refreshed or i have to again manullay select them ?

RRA- FPN- Produser cahnages to roles not reflecting in Copnsumer portal

Dear All
we have configured Remote role assignment in FPN..we can assign roles in consumer portal ..when we have made a change to ( changing role name in produser portal) roles in produser , its reflecting in produser portal but in consumer its reflecting the role name before the change..
how can we replicate same to consumer portal?

Hello,
Normally, the change should reflected automatically on the consumer when the cache is updated.
On the consumer, you can manually clear the cache. Go to System Administration - Federated Portal - Myself as Content Consumer - Cache Management and clear the cache for RRA.

BPM 11g Role Assignment not Reflected on BPM Workspace

Hi,
I'm having trouble with role maping in JDeveloper for my BPM 11g project, where the server groups mapped against a particular applcation role is not reflected in BPM workspace.
I'm mapping application roles with server groups in the Organization section of my BPM project in JDeveloper, but when I open the Administration section of the BPM workspace, I see that the appropriate section is blank where there should be the server group assigned.
I have confirmed that the server groups are in place, and have users associated with them. I even tried ti with the Administrators groups of WebLogic, with the same results.
However, when I deployed this same project on an Oracle On Demand server, the JDeveloper role maapping was successfully deployed along with my process. Could anyone please provide some insight in this matter?
I'm working on JDeveloper and SOA 11.1.1.5

In 11g you have the concept of Global Links. You can refer to http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/user.1111/e15175/bpmug_ext_apps.htm#BACCACGI fro example of how this can be acheived
I think there are also some samples on java.net for Oracle BPM Suite however this appears to be down at the time of posting so I can not validate this.

Changing object name of role is not reflected

When I change the Current Object Name for a specific role this change is not reflected. The role still retains it original name in the PCD or when I assign the role to a user.
This only happens for a specific role in our system. For all other roles the change of the Object Name works fine.
What am I overlooking?

Please check that when you change property 'name' of the role and then click on save button you shud get a 'save successful ' kinda message.
If not then may be your role is locked by some other portal user id and thus not allowing you to change it. Please note that this will also not allow to change any property of the role, so you can test this by trying changing the other properties of the role.
If this is not the case, then compare the properties of two roles one whichis working fine and the one which is not.

Roles not getting reflected after logout

Hi All,
I am using JDeveloper, LDAP , and Single Sign on for authentication and Roles.
After the user is authenticated using SSO I have the following code in my Action class
String userDN = actionContext.getHttpServletRequest().getHeader("Osso-User-Dn");
using this I get the UserId.
Also I check the roles in JSP as
request.isUserInRole("VOLUNTEER");
The above works fine.
Now the admin changes the roles of a user. Immediately if the user tries to login his roles are not reflected. The roles in LDAP are reflected.
Let me know how isUserInRole works and if there is any caching problem with it.
Any help will be appreciated.

You need to adjust the cache. You can find info on how to to this here:

It is in section 5 "Configuring OC4J Instance" of the J2EE Security Guide. You may want to disable the cache.

UI Screen Configs not reflecting on the web

For doing screen configuration, when I click on the frame to configure, the system is picking up std key and not the custom key zpartman though zpartman key is there in the list. ( Note: Zpartman key is the one assigned to this role ). Therefore if I do config in zpartman key, it's not reflecting on the web. Please reply what could be the reason and the solution.

Hi TR
first access the standard and check the configuration info such as what is the configuration key , object and subobject .
Then access your custom configuration screen and check what it was looking for and what is it picked , change your custom configuration accordingly what it was looking for (by making changes to configuration key, object and sub object).
Check that you are accessing in the same client if not transport the request to other client using SCC1 transaction.

OBIEE 10g , ODBC created is not listed in OBIEE

HI Experts,
I have OBIEE10 g in a server. I have Sql server in the same server. I have created an ODBC connection to connect to SQL server.
In rpd when i import metadata, the odbc connection is not get reflected in OBIEE. Please suggest on this

Try what Srini told as first option
Go to run command and give odbcad32 and press enter it will take to data sources
Here u can check the DSN
If it is visible here obviously it must display there

Role not displayed in Production system

Dear all,
I have CUA set up (CUA is configured in solution manager), and I assigned 10 roles to a user in solution manager using SU01 and selected Production system while assigning roles and the roles were already existing in production system.but after role assignment to the user, I verified in Production system and I found that they are not reflecting in PROD. Infact, I have done user comparision but still no change.
Please let me know do I need execute SCUL by selecting the User ID.
If yes please let me know the steps to execute SCUL.

Hi,
Please go to the Transaction SCUL, and give the user id and the system as the prodution system ID (eg. PRD100). By default the Error, Warnings and Unconfirmed Distribution will be already checked. Do not change them and then click on Execute.
If you receive the message saying No Data, then it means that the IDOCs for that user were successfully pushed from CUA to the production system.
But, since the change was not reflected, when you execute, you will be able to see the status where the IDOC is struck. Expand the tree and see the nature of the error, and try to resolve that error. And then select the entire tree and click on the Distribute button.
It will give you a pop up, let all the checkboxes as it is, and continue. After the distribution is triggered, you will get a message in SCUL.
Refresh the SCUL data, and you should be able to see the current status of the distribution.
If all the data is cleared in SCUL, you can log into your produciton system adn check the users roles. New role should be visible there.

Date Customer Exit in the query is not reflecting in the workbook

Hello.
We have a BI 7.0 Query where we have a restriction for req del date and billing date to show the month of current date - 2.
We have written 2 customer exit variables and we have restricted the same. The query is working well.
For Broadcasting, we have created a workbook for this query and saved it under a role.
The workbook is fine running for the current month., But if the month changes to the next, the workbook is not reflecting the same.
Still only Old dates are available in the workbook.
Please let me know if i am doing any mistake

If the customer exit variable is of type i_step = 1, ie if it is a manual entry variable as well, then this will not get updated based on teh month of execution.

Changes are not reflecting in the Quality

Hi,
These are standard SAP Components. I have imported the ESS and MSS Packages.
Actually 3 Development Components are using in my application (Tra,TraTri and TraTre).Tra is the root DC.
I have made changes to those objects and sucecessfully build without errors.
After check-in all activities those activities are working fine in Development system.
But those changes not refclecting in Quality system. So i was founded build log error in Consolidation.
I was fixed the error in the Development system and build the components without build error.
still now changes are not reflecting in the quality system.
But out of 3 DCs(Tra,TraTri,TraTre) Tra and TraTre are working fine in Quality(changes are reflecting) only problem in TraTri DC (changes are not reflecting in the Quality)..
Please help me as soon as possible....Its very help full for me

When i release the activities after successful build, i export those changes and place them in the import queue of the consolidation system in the CMS.
The export in the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio packs all selected activities into a change request, and then places them in the import queue of the consolidation system.
When the my system administrator imports this request into the consolidation system, the released changes are integrated into the DTR workspace of the consolidation system; the build server compiles the modified components.

UME problem - ABAP roles not showing up in UME

Hello,
I'm having a problem where the ABAP roles (UME groups) for my PI system are not showing up as assigned to a user in the UME. The roles assigned to the user are not reflecting the roles (UME groups) that are in the ABAP side. But, other users are showing up fine. The user is shown to have only the standard basic roles.
This works fine on my development and AS system. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There is a 30 minute delay before these roles/groups show up in the Java system. Could that be the problem in your case?

Field lables changes in ESS iView not reflected on portal

Hi All,
I am trying to customize the SAP ESS Address DC (webdynpro Java) for South Africa region as per the SAP OSS note (No: 1428933).
In order to incorporate the changes I have imported the ess/za/addr DC into NWDS. I have changed the label text as per the OSS note and deployed the DC but changes are not reflecting in the portal
I did some more test on Label text;
1. Removed the Label text property value from DC and deployed the application, when I run the application during runtime screen is not showing any label text message for the label since I made it to empty.
1. I added my custom text message to label text value instead of standard label text value and deployed the application, when I run the application during run time screen is automaticaly showing the standard label text value not my custom label text value.
I'm trying to figure out from where these field labels value are coming from? Theoretically it should reflect field lables whats given in webdynpro but thats not the case here.
From where Label field value is coming?. Help me out in this. Thanks,

If you are just changing the field label the recommended approach is to do it through Web Dynpro UI personalisation. DO NOT user NWDI to change the source code just for field label change. The way you change through UI personalisation is locate the iView in portal content, and select preview of iView then use CTRL+RIGHT click mouse button on the field that you want to change the text, you will see properties of selected field in a popup window where you can change the default text. Once you change it, and apply the changes you will be able to verify you changes in the iView properties (additional properties will be automatically created for the change you made). Now check the personal data service under ESS role you should see the change.

Iview Personalization not reflecting

Hello All,
We are on SRM 7.0 and SRM 7.0 Portal,.
We have a requirement to hide a TAB in POWL.
I am using administrative access to hide the tab by going to the iview of the POWL , preview--> RIGHT CLICK +Contrl and then modifying the properties of the UI elements to make it invisible.
This is reflecting fine for me, but when a end user logs in , they do not see the changes.
Also while saving it asked me whether to create a transport Request for transport personalization , once I selected yes and it created the Transport Request (ABAP) and once I said no and the transport request was not created. In both the cases the changes were not reflecting to end user.
Can you please explain why this is so? All replies will be highly appreciated.

Nah!! still it is not working.
I tried everyting
1> dited the ivew and changed the settings in Preview
2> Changed the iview settings /personalization from within role.
3> Added super, content, system admin role and everyone group as "owner" and end user.
Any more clues, Thinking of contacting SAP now.

and using thode credentials I am able to login to weblogic server
the users I am talking about is the process users defined in realm.
in realm those users are defined as Default authenticator and OID authenticator.
and I am trying to authenticate one of those users defined in realm using java api so that I an access a process defined In Oracle BPM 11g
