OIM install on Windows 7

Hi,
Is it possible to install OIM on windows 7 ? Though it wont be utilized for Prod purpose, but will be for initial prototype showcase. Once things are finalize, we will be using Solaris container for prod.
Please let us know if anyone is aware of the above scenario, any suggestions/recommendation. Also, which binary exactly i need to utilize for this purpose ( considering the above statement is true ). Link for downloading the software?
Thanks in Advance

Installing itself is complex and with non supported OS, you can never be sure where it goes wrong. Thus even for test purpose I would suggest get a VM. There's one which oracle provides too for test purpose. You can try that.

Need bit of help on Oracle Identity manager (IDM). We have installed IDM on windows and when we wanted to configure domain and configure the managed server instances (in weblogic server) by clicking config.bat from common/bin, we were not able to see the Identity manager instance in the list. What could be the reason?
Should IDM be part of same domain as webcenter spaces? When we were trying to work with sapces it was expecting oracle identity server to be running.
When installing the identity manager it was asking oracle home. Does that mean oracle db has to reside on the machine where IDM is installed? Could be this be affecting the IDM instance not appearing in the list?

  • Oracle IDM Install on Windows 2003

    Hey all...
I am trying to install OIM 9.1.0.1 on a windows server 2003 and having some trouble. I have the Oracle database installed and configured and prepped for the OIM install as per the documentation. I am using the JBoss App server and have that up and running as well.
I have Java JDK 1.6.0.16 installed. During the install, it says the JDK version is unsupported. After viewing the readme, I see that JDK 1.6.0.10 is supported. Not sure if this is what's causing me an issue.
I get all the install screens until I get to the screen where I provide the application server and Java JDK directories. I enter the directories and hit next and then the installer just sits there. No error messages, no response whatsoever.
I was hoping someone could help me figure out what I am doing wrong. Does the installer just fully reject the latest JDK and fail?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Bryan

Check the compability matrix for your OIM version for JVMs. If Java 1.6 isn't supported that might be your issue.
A lot of things in OIM is built on ancient java constructs so it is not impossible that something finally got deprecated.

  • Sharepoint Foundation 2013 is not Installing on Window 7

When I click on 'Install Sharepoint Foundation" 2013 nothing happen. Same is issue with "Install Sharepoint Foundation Pr-Requisite"

SharePoint 2013 does not support being installed on Windows client (Windows 7 or 8). Instead, try using a Virtual Machine running a supported Server OS. You can use VMware Player (free) on Windows 7, or if you have Windows 8 Pro or Enterprise, Hyper-V.

  • Could anyone of you please who has a clean install of Windows 8.1 on the SSD drive look at some settings of certain services (below)?

    Hi everyone,
    could anyone of you please
who has a clean install of Windows
8.1 on the SSD drive look at some settings
    of certain services (below)?
    Thank you.
Prefetch and Superfetch. In registry located on way
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet\ Control\ SessionManager \MemoryManagement \PrefetchParameters.
I am interested in EnablePrefetcher and
    EnableSuperfetch REG_DWORD value.
    Just a number in parentheses.
ReadyBoot. In registry located on way HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM \CurrentControlSet\Control \WMI\Autologger\ReadyBoot.
I am interested REG_DWORD value of
Start. Just a number in parentheses.
Run dfrgui command. Go to Change settings and have a look if SSD on which is the system installed is included in regular optimalization schedule.
Registry can be accessed running regedit command.

    Hi,
Prefetch and Superfetch means that most commonly used files are stored to disk to be more quickly accessed later.
    For Prefetch:
    Disable Caching: 0
    Cache Applications Only: 1
    Cache Boot Files Only: 2
    Cache Everything (default): 3
    For SuperFetch:Disable Caching: 0
    Cache Boot Processed Only: 1
    Cache Applications Only: 2
    Cache Everything (default): 3
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\Autologger\ReadyBoot\Start value means:
    disable: 0
    enable: 1

  • How do I install Bootcamp Windows 8.1 To Go on an external USB disk (MBA 2013)

    Hi,
I've got a new 11" 2013 macbook air with 128gb SSD. I've downloaded the windows 8.1 enterprise preview, and am trying to figure out how to install it on a 64gb USB3 Flash drive instead of on my SSD. The Flash drive speeds clock around 150mbs read/write so should be fast enough
I've managed to install the windows 8.1 preview on my SSD with BootCamp, but would like to erase that and try the new Windows To Go instead to install on the external drive.
Anyone know what the steps are?

There are 5 supported flash drives: which one do you have?
    Hardware considerations
Windows To Go works both on USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 connections, and both on legacy BIOS and UEFI firmware.[11] Not all USB drives can be used in this environment; Microsoft has set up specific testing requirements that the USB drive manufacturer must meet in order to be a supported device. Currently there are five USB Flash memory devices listed as supported by Microsoft for Windows To Go:
    Imation IronKey Workspace[15]
    Kingston DataTraveler Workspace[16]
    SPYRUS Portable Workplace[17][18]
SPYRUS Secure Portable Workplace (w/ Hardware Encryption)[19][20]

  • CHKDSK fails on fresh install of Windows 7 x64 on mid-2009 MBP with SSD

There was an earlier post about this that has been archived prematurely that I will reproduce below. The main issue is a flaw in the Windows 7 x64 CHKDSK of the SSD drive in the mid-2009 MBP= 5,2. With fresh OSX installs, bootcamp 3.1, Windows 7 x64 all updates, the CHKDSK operation checks files at about 1 per second in stage 4 of 5, verifying file data.
Moderators: please leave this open until it is actually resolved.

Windows 7 x64, MacBook Pro, frequent CHKDSK after HDD firmware update
    Posted: Nov 2, 2009 6:45 AM
Hello, I have been having filesystem problems on my Windows 7 partition since the HDD related firmware update (the latest Performance update) was released and installed onto this mid 2009 MacBook Pro.
The HDD is a 500 GB 7200 RPM model, but it never gave me any troubles under OS X before the "fix" and I know other users had intermittent problems with the HDD on their MacBook Pro's related to the HDD making noises and pausing.
The fix was released, I installed it and I started seeing my first problem in Windows 7 x64 a few days after... I cleanly shut the OS down, but when I booted it back it asked me to perform a coherency check to the Filesystem... I thought that the problem was related to the fact that I was using the RC1 build of Windows 7... although that problem never manifested itself in the weeks before the Performance Update (HDD firmware fix) was installed and Windows 7 x64 RC1 had been on there and used frequently.
I recently purchased Windows 7 retail a few days ago and after a bit of trouble-free operation I started having problems again... always shutting the PC down carefully and I was asked to run the CHKDSK utility at boot twice already.
    What to do?

    Hi there,
I have a different experience. I installed Windows 7 before the "performance update 1.0" came out. I actually experienced the chkdsk launch problem with Windows 7. I had done repartitioning and clean-install several times but cannot solve the problem. So I tried to install XP and Vista on my MBA (Mid 2009 with SSD) and found that these two OS doesn't introduce such problem.
To be honest, I'm not sure which caused such problem, Windows 7, a bootcamp driver, or EFI. But I'm sure that CHKDSK in Windows 7 has an obvious bug that needs to be patched (memory leak and maybe this problem as well). So now I'm using Windows Vista SP2. And I'm happy with Vista SP2 (seems to become faster and stable now).
    Cheer,

HP UFT 12.02 is not installing on Windows 7 Service Pack 1. But the Install Guide says it supports and recommends Windows 7 Service Pack 1 as the Operating System.

    Hey Hello Dear,
Please upgrade UR windows 7 Service pack to Service pack 2.

And before installing SQL server 2012 Plz activate .NET framework for that,
Put UR windows 7 Format CD then,
Run Command prompt as Administrator and paste following cmd in that
    DISM.exe /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFX3 /All /Source:c:\net35 /LimitAccess
it will take 2 min. after that restart your PC and try to install SQL server 2012.
Note: Before installing SQL SERVER again format UR PC/lapy once.
After this if it gives error while installation then plz change ur setup and try again.

When I start Acrobat the related window opens normally but, after some scroll up and down along the document, it blocks, Acrobat doesn't respond to any command I can give and, in place of the pointer arrow, a vertical bar, as the one of the text editor appears. • New Macbook Pro retina boot camp install issue - Windows 7

Trying to complete a boot camp install but can't get past creating a partition.  I am able to download the windows drivers through boot camp, it burns them to a DVD, verifies the DVD (couldn't use CD-R as it kept saying burn failure after verifying files) and then takes me to the make a partition page.  When i click install the partition, it pops up saying "can't find the installer disc" and wants me to put one in the super drive.  What gives?  I have that disc in the drive, also tried the Windows 7 disc and got the same error.  So basically I can't create a partition to install windows 7 that I have.
    Any thoughts?

The disk was from my other PC system, however it is an OEM upgrade disc.  Maybe that is the problem but if that is the case why did it work when I installed it through VMware and it worked fine?  The disc can be used as a self full install of windows 7.  I have also it on another PC with no issues.  Trying to convert to Mac finally but this is causing a hiccup.
The next question then is do I really need to go the boot camp way?  I only need it to run quickbooks (need windows version for reasons) and a couple of other programs but thought it may run better as a boot camp install rather than VM plus I couldn't figure out how to reduce the size of the partition that VM installs, it takes too much space from me for no reason (60Gb).
    Thanks for any input.
