  • [OIM 11g R1] OID 11.1.1.5.0 Connector with OpenLDAP: Errors in logs

    I am using the Oracle Internet Directory 11.1.1.5.0 connector with OpenLDAP as my target system.
    Every time I run the "LDAP Connector User search Reconciliation", I see the following error for each user.
    <Feb 21, 2013 3:54:57 PM EST> <Error> <ORACLE.IAM.CONNECTORS.ICFCOMMON.RECON.SEARCHRECONTASK> <BEA-000000> <oracle.iam.connectors.icfcommon.recon.SearchReconTask : handle : Recon event skipped>
    The reconciliation events do get generated in OIM and the reconciliation engine does link the account when a user match is found.
    I am wondering what is causing that error to be thrown and whether if performance of the LDAP reconciliation is affected by this error.

    Any updates i am facing same problem.

  • OIM/OAM Is OID needed?

    If we want to authenticate users against their network (Active Directory) passwords, then do we really need to bring them into OID?
    Our enivronments included Oracle EBusiness suite 11i and MS AD 2003. Now if we set up OAM with AD as a user base and have Oracle AS SSO installed without OID, will that work?

    To complete Mahendra's thought - EBS requires OSSO and OID if you want single sign-on. OID has tools that allow you to automatically (in batch actually) sync users from AD to OID and that will effectively meet your requirement. You don't need OAM unless you already have OAM or plan on extending SSO to applications other than EBS. Then OAM is a good idea and OAM integrates with OSSO. In 11g this scenario will have fewer moving parts.

  • OIM to OID Provisioning - Userid getting 'null' in OID

    OIM provisioned to OID. When Im creating a user in OIM and provisioning the OID resource, the userid is getting 'null' value in OID.
    Any reasons? How to fix this ?
    I have checked the design console and the ldapuserDNPrefix is mapped to uid.

    Hi,
    You have to had an another atrribute in order to make it work:
    Solution
    While creating a user account on Oracle Internet Directory through Oracle Identity Manager, the
    user ID that you specify is assigned to the cn field of Oracle Internet Directory.
    If required, you can customize the mapping so that the user ID is assigned to the uid field of
    Oracle Internet Directory.
    1.In the Design Console, open the AttrName.Prov.Map.OID lookup definition.
    2.Change the decode value of the ldapUserDNPrefix code key to uid.
    *3.Add the following item to AttrName.Prov.Map.OID lookup defintion*
    Code key "User ID", decode value "uid".
    Please note that Key is case sensitive.

  • OIM Provisioning - Error during OID Create User Task

    Hi,
    I am getting the following error during OIM Provisioning to OID (Create User Task).
    I added few more attributes to the OID_USR form and then to the "OID User" Process Definition.
    Also, I added the Code/Decode Key Values in AttrName.Prov.Map.OID.

    Earlier, before adding these attributes, the OID Create User Task was working. So I belive this is from the newly added attributes.
    Questions:
    - How to identity the attribute with this key? It looks like some of the attribute values that it gets during Run Time is not populated correctly. Any suggestions?
    - "key = 350"- Is there a database table that this gets stored? SPD? or anything else?

    @Keviin,
    I added 13 new attributes and corresponding "* Updated" Tasks.
    For all these, ProcessInstanceKey is mapped to Process Data -> Process Instance.
    I am going to validate the mappings again. Also, I noticed, some of the fields that I am prepopulating is not populated.

  • Migrating OID groups to OIM

    We have been given the task of migrating our existing identity management systems to OIM (Oracle Identity Manager).
    Part of our existing system uses OID (Oracle Internet Directory). All users have an entry in OID. Some of our systems use OID for authentication.
    We also use OID to hold users' entitlements/privileges that control access to our applications. We use OID groups (represented by entries based on groupOfUniqueNames and orclGroup objects) to do this. For example we might have an application called 'Finance' with three levels of access represented by OID groups e.g. 'finance_enquiry', 'finance_updater', 'finance_superuser'. Those groups would all belong to a parent group called 'finance_application'. To access the application the user needs to be a member of 'finance_application' group or one of its child groups. Access to features of the application are controlled by membership of the 3 child groups. We have an application that maintains groups, group membership, and user entitlements in OID.
    As part of the migration project we want to move maintenance of groups and group membership from our own application into OIM. The above scenario seems quite basic.
    My main question is how would this be done in OIM? Do our current OID groups become OIM Groups? Do they become entries in some lookup table in OIM? Are there any case studies or other documentation that describes this kind of requirement?
    I've looked at the OIM Connector for OID documentation but it doesn't describe typical scenarios. It assumes that you know what you are doing.
    We also want to give users the ability to request entitlements, and to provide an approval process. So we could have a user who approves/rejects entitlement requests to access to the applications they control. But that's a another topic.
    Cheers,
    Eric

    My main question is how would this be done in OIM? Do our current OID groups become OIM Groups? Do they become entries in some lookup table > in OIM? Are there any case studies or other documentation that describes this kind of requirement?You'll need a custom connector and lots of OIM tweaks. Your groups will stay in OID, OIM will replace the current application you use to maintain them. That's one way of doing it, no impact to OID schema is the benefit of this way, there are other ways.

  • It's posible the OID role Provisioning With OIM?

    Hi experts,
    I'm installing and configuring the OIM connector for OID. However I've found on the installation guide the next 'warnings':
    - Reconciliation of roles is supported only for ODSEE and Novell eDirecotory target systems.
    - Provisioning of roles is supported only for ODSEE and Novell eDirecotory target systems.
    then my question is: how can I provision OID roles to any user using OIM??? If I can't do role provisioning to OID, I cant see so much utility for this connector.
    My request its to provisioning roles that I've created on OID, using OIM interface.
    Has anyone done this?
    Thanks for you time.
    regards.

    Hi Leoncio and Gyanprakash,
    Tanks for your response, thats make me feel more quiet.
    I have still one question about this. In the installation and configuration guide says:
    - If you are using the default connector configuration, for every group in the target system, create a corresponding organizational unit (with the same group name) in Oracle Identity Manager. This ensures that all groups from the target system are reconciled into their newly created organizational units, respectively.
    - You can also configure the connector to reconcile the groups under one organization.
    Then, when I run the reconciliation of OID groups in OIM. I obtain one organization with one resource representing my OID group. Or, if I prefer, I obtaion one organization with many resource that represents all my OID groups. However, I dont find how to provision this resources to my OIM users, cause I need that one user be part of one o more groups. If I put the user in the organization that represent my OID group, how I can provision more groups?
    Furthermore, the reconciliations of OID groups creates resources/organizations, but in my understending this no create OIM roles isn't?
    I'm sorry for my ignorance. This maybe is a trivial question, but I hope you can clarify this concepts to me.
    Thanks for your time.
    regards.

  • OIM, OID and ADF - Confused!!!

    Hi All,
    I am starting to read about all this Identity Management stuff and I need some orientation about what to do and where to start since I have been loosing some time trying to understand the whole picture. I know Oracle Internet Directory is part of OIM but I am confused.
    We are building a Webcenter Portal application and its security is intended to be managed through an OID (Oracle Internet Directory) which is already settled up and running. Now, the real problem is how to manage users/groups (entries in general) using our Webcenter Portal Application.
    We are thinking at first some basics operation like if you are the admin you can create some user, assign roles and groups etc. All this without going to the OID Console. All this within our portal.
    I know there are more than one approach I could take. Right now I am thinking to create our customs java classes in order to connect to the LDAP using the provided API. So
    - Should I use a simple JNDI interfaces to do this?
    - In JDeveloper if I write "OIDUser" in a java class I get a suggestion about the package "oracle.security.idm"... So shall I use this instead simple JNDI? If this is the case, is there any tutorial I can follow in order to achieve this?
    - I was taking as example this http://code.google.com/p/ldapchai/ which is an API for LDAP using java jndi. However, this is not an oracle product and more than sure this kind of stuff have been already made by oracle. But exactly something like that I need. I am thinking to implement some interfaces with the following methods
    create user
    update user
    create group
    update group
    assignUserToGroup
    etc.
    Hope you guys can help me out here.
    Regards
    P.S I give points to the useful questions and correct ones as well.
    I just came out with this library ldapjclnt11.jar which is in OID_HOME. Shall I go for this since I am not using OIM. Just OID?
    Regards
    Edited by: Alejandro T. Lanz on Feb 13, 2013 8:15 AM

    Hey Alejandro,
    Management X Manager both are OIM concepts:
    Let's start from the very beginning: OIM is one product that you can control 'user and group resources' as Active Directory users , Database users and OID users and groups. So, OID is not part of OIM(Oracle Identity Manager_). Maybe you are talking about the first concept that comes with Oracle application server , OID, DAS and SSO. All these products were called OIM(Oracle Identity Management_).
    OIM is one WebApp deployed into AppServer with some client pieces(eg: Design Console, Remote Manager) , if needed.
    OID is one LDAP.
    Basically the standard control that you can do here is:
    Have these tasks:
    1)create user,update user,create group,update group,assignUserToGroup controled by OIM.
    2) THen OIM has an 'integration' with OID, using LDAPSYNC or having OID Connector: http://thiagoleoncio.blogspot.com/2013/01/oid-sync-vs-oim-connector-into-oim-11g.html
    3) WebCenter Portal is 'connected with LDAP(OID)'.
    Regarding this:
    We are thinking at first some basics operation like if you are the admin you can create some user, assign roles and groups etc. All this without going to the OID Console. All this within our portal.
    I know there are more than one approach I could take. Right now I am thinking to create our customs java classes in order to connect to the LDAP using the provided API.
    You can:
    1) Do a class that have all ldapqueries to do whatever you want.
    2) Do this integration above, then it will be much more easy to do this tasks and no develop part needed from user creation point of view.
    I hope this helps you a bit,
    Thiago Leoncio.

    Have you changed your OID user process task mappings for the Enable User and Disable User tasks? By default these set AttrName to "UserEnabled" and "UserDisabled", both of which map in lookup AttrName.Prov.Map.OID to attribute orclIsEnabled.
    Your error messages seems to suggest your Disable User process task mapping for OID User has been set to have AttrName set to ldapdisabled, and this attribute does not have a mapping defined in AttrName.Prov.Map.OID.

  • OID and OIM Groups synchronization

    I'm using OID 10.1.0.4 and OIM 9.0.3.1 with Oracle AS.

    I've created user group Group1 in my OIM.
    Is there any standard way to put reconciled user to Group1 in OIM right after OID's admin put user to Group1 in OID?

  • Disable OIM users AND ENABLE THEM MANUALLY IN OID.......

    Hi,
    I've OIM connected to OID.
    When i disable a user in OIM, the orclisenabled attribute for that user is set to DISABLED
    Now when i manually change DISABLED to ENABLED in OID, and run the target recon task, the user in OIM remains disabled and when i check resource profile, the OID user resource is ENABLED.
    This should not happen. I want the case, when I manually ENABLE the disabled user in OID,and run recon task, the user should again get disabled in OID
    Is it possible to realise this condition?

    few rows from OIM log :
    XL_INTG.OID OID:tcUtilLDAPOperations -> ~~~~~~~~~~Leaving getPath() with dc=company,dc=com~~~~~~~~~~
    XL_INTG.OID the initial pContainerDN is:cn=Users
    XL_INTG.OID tcUtilOIDUserOperations -> Entering formatOrgDN(s,s)
    XL_INTG.OID tcUtilOIDUserOperations -> with Parameters
    XL_INTG.OID tcUtilOIDUserOperations -> [pOrgDNcn=Users
    XL_INTG.OID tcUtilOIDUserOperations -> pRootDNdc=company,dc=com]
    XL_INTG.OID OID:tcUtilLDAPOperations -> ~~~~~~~~~~Entering getPath() with ou=users~~~~~~~~~~
    XL_INTG.OID OID:tcUtilLDAPOperations -> ~~~~~~~~~~Leaving getPath() with ou=Users,dc=company,dc=com~~~~~~~~~~
    so formatOrgDN changes orgDN from cn=Users to ou=Users.
    Maybe someone can help me, where can i disable this formatting ?
    OIM 9.1.0.0
    OID connector : 9.0.4.1
    Thanx!

    Check IT Resource configuration put root dn for your identities, then searh in AttrName.Prov.Map.OID lookup change ldapOrgDNPrefix with your entry name and
    ldapOrgUnitObjectClass for your organization ldap class
