OIM Reconciliation with eBusiness Suite

Im seeing the following error on enabling the (eBusiness HRMS Trusted Reconciliation) task. I havent configured SSL between OIM and eBusiness suite. Will that be a problem ?
What are the exact steps to be followed for the reconciliation task?
Thanks

  • AD- OIM Reconciliation with Manager as Approver of Resources

Hi, I'm trying to setup the following scenario:
AD->OIM Reconciliation with user's manager information. Setup the manager as the user's approver for every resource available in OIM.
When a user gets added to the AD, he is reconciled into OIM and I have made 2 user defined fields, one to store his managers distinguished name and another to store the users - "usr_udf_man_dn" and "usr_udf_dn". This is working fine, both columns get populated on reconciliation.
What I would like to do is assign the manager as the approver for all the resources that are requested by the user. I am thinking of populating the usr_manager_key through an sql query, by matching "usr_udf_man_dn" with "usr_udf_dn" and getting the managers "usr_key", then storing it in usr_manager_key of the user. The query is not my real problem.
As I'm new to OIM, I don't yet know how to build the 'logic' of this process. How and where to I make the query? I'm assuming these fields can only be populated after the user has been reconciled (because there won't be any fields to do an sql query on before that). Do I use an adapter? How do I setup the approval process?
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated :)

This is very simple and infact there are 2 ways to do it:
    # 1) Create a User Process Trigger that adds on Change Event of your Manager UDF Field. This will kick in as soon as a value is put into the Manager UDF field (doesn't matter - via Recon or by hand). Then create an adapter that looks up a User in AD with the DN (your manager) and returns back a SamAccountName. Based on this returned SamAccountName, get the update the user with manager key. Attach this adapter to your process task event in Xellerate User Process Definition.
    # 2) Create an Entity adapter that does the same operation as written in #1. Attach this entity adapter to Xellerate User Update event. This is simpler. Drawback of this is that anytime you update the user (for anything - like last name change , org change etc.) - it will repeat this process of updating the user with its manager key. so any change on employee will trigger the manager update. #1 is more efficient.
As far as the approval processes are concerned, there are 2 ways to achieve that also:
    # 1) Attach approval in the standard task and assign it to User's Manager for approval. Limitation is that you can not get rid of this in future once you go production with such a setup. You can but you might not want to.
    # 2) Individually on each approval process of each resource object, attach the approval task and assign it to User's Manager. That should do it.
    Hope this helps.

When we set the Properties/Type to be SSWA plsql function, it does not want to accept it and will not save as SSWA plsql function.
I have searched and read and followed so many links my head is spining. Has anyone else had this type of issue, and could tell us what we are doing wrong? Does the Cabot approach work for everyone, or is there another method that will work better?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Mark

MarkPP posted the original thread on my behalf. I have looked through the threads that you suggested and unfortunately they have not shed any light on the subject.
We are using a stand alone apex server. We have a 11.5.10.2 e-bus suite which we use SSO for the hrSelfService. We are trying to add the new apex application to the hrselfservice menu. I following the Cabot white paper and I have created the procedure apex_launch as follows. I have some questions about it that are inline:
    PROCEDURE APPS.apex_launch (
    application IN NUMBER
, page IN NUMBER DEFAULT 1
, request IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT NULL
    , item_names IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT NULL
    , item_values IN VARCHAR2 DEFAULT NULL)
    Is
    Begin
OWA_UTIL.mime_header('text/html', false); ---- Is the url correct? Since my apex server is separate, do I need the APPS_FRAMEWORK_AGENT???
    OWA_UTIL.redirect_url( ---- Do i need to create a DAD for pls/apex?
    'https://ourserver.school.edu/pls/apex/f?p='||
    application||':'||page||'::'||request||':::'||
    item_names||':'||item_values);
    End apex_launch;
I created the form function with the following attributes:
    Properties/Type -> SSWA plsql function
    Web HTML/HTML Call -> apex_launch
    Form/Parameter -> application=310
I am able to save the plsql form function with no errors. However, when i go back in to look at the form function: property type, it is set to "database provider portlet". (I have opened an SR on this issue and as yet, i don't have a solution.)
I then add the new form function to the hr self service menu. When I go into self service, the new function does not display.
If I change the property to SSWA plsql function that opens a new window (Kiosk mode) and save the form function and don't change anything else, when I go into self service the new function displays. However ,when I click on it, it opens another e-bus suite logon page. After entering the username/password it just brings up the ebus suite application, not the apex application.
    Can anybody help me? thanks.

  • How WebCenter integrates with eBusiness Suite

I have just gone through the flash demo at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/viewlets/1013/fusion.html.
From a user & developer point of view WebCenter looks like a gr8 technology.
Is it going to replace OA Framework?
How does it integrate with eBusiness Suite?
Are there any eBusiness Suite pages being developed at Oracle using WebCenter?

    Andhra,
Oracle WebCenter is part of the foundation technology that Oracle's new Fusion Applications are being built with. Oracle eBusiness Suite uses OA Framework today and is not being rebuilt, but will be enhanced over time. For instance eBusiness Suite R12 will use OA Framework. Existing eBusiness Suite customers may stay with eBusiness Suite or move to Fusion Applications as they see fit.
WebCenter Applications will be able to integrate with eBusiness Suite applications as soon as it is released using the existing PDK portlets.
As soon as WebCenter is released it will be made available as a download from OTN.

  • Problems with eBusiness Suite Lookups

In eBusiness Suite UM Connector, I have been provided with these default Lookup Definitions:
    Lookup.EBS.Application
    Lookup.EBS.Responsibility
I have a process child form (UD_EBS_USER), which has the following fields:
    1. Application Name
    2. Responsibility Name
    3. Effective Start Date
    4. Effective End Date
Application Name and Responsibility Name are both Lookup Fields and they get their values from the 2 Lookup Definitions that I mentioned above.
Here are the properties of each Lookup Field:
    Application Name
Lookup Query: select lkv_encoded,lkv_decoded from lkv lkv,lku lku where lkv.lku_key=lku.lku_key and lku_type_string_key='Lookup.EBS.Application' and instr(lkv_encoded,concat('$Form data.UD_EBS_USER_EBS_ITRES$','~'))>0
    Column Widths: 234
    Lookup Column Name: lkv_encoded
    Lookup Column Captions: lkv_encoded
    Column Names: lkv_encoded
    Responsibility Name
Lookup Query: select lkv_encoded,lkv_decoded from lkv lkv,lku lku where lkv.lku_key=lku.lku_key and lku_type_string_key='Lookup.EBS.Responsibility' and instr(lkv_encoded,concat('$Form data.UD_EBS_RESP_APP_NAME$','~'))>0
    Column Names: lkv_encoded
    Column Captions: lkv_encoded
    Lookup Column Name: lkv_encoded
    Column Widths: 234
    Entitlements: true
    Required: true
Note: Responsibilities are filtered against selected Application ID. (see Lookup query of Responsibility Name).
Now, my problem is, when I select either application or responsibility from the lookup, what is being displayed in the field is the code value. Even after clicking on Add button, still "code" value is displayed (ID). What I wanted is the "decode" value will display (Name).
Funny thing, I have done the same setup and configuration in my local environment (using OIM version 9.1.0.2). It works in my local. However, it is not behaving the same in a clustered environment, using OIM version 9.1.0.2 patched with BP05. But I doubt that environment has anything to do with that. Thanks in advance for your quick help and response. :)

  • BIP 11g with eBusiness Suite Security

Help! I'm at my wits end!
I installed BIP 11g on Linux and went through the security set up for eBusiness Suite - created the XMLP% responsibilities, assigned the responsibilities to users, shutdown the BIP server, restarted it with the expectation that I can login to BIP using my eBS userid/password credentials. I couldn't login with anything other than the local superuser userid/password. The eBS responsibilities were imported as BIP roles, but none of the users are recognized as valid users.
I set up an SR with Oracle Support and they are just as flummoxed as I am.
The log files are of no help or I don't know where to look.
I then installed BIP 11g on my Windows 7 laptop, to rule out the possibility that this could be an issue with BIP 11g on Linux. I went through the exact same steps on Windows7 and got the same result. I am not sure that this experiment rules out anything at this point.
I am at a loss and extremely frustrated since I don't know where to begin looking. The DBC file is used, otherwise the eBS responsibilities would not have been imported. What else could be missing?
If anyone could point me to anything that might be of help, I would greatly appreciate it. At this point, I am inclined to chuck BIP altogether and go to some other reporting solution.
    Thanks,
    Sunder

eBS passwords have to be reset after setting "Signon Password Case" profile to Insensitive. Works now.

  • Oracle Text with eBusiness Suite

I'm trying to understand if Oracle eBusiness Suite uses Oracle Text for indexing certain queries such as item description, etc.. I was told that iStore uses it for searching on items. Is that true? Does the Oracle Apps standard Item form use it? Can it be set up for use with the apps? I know the query syntax is different (CONTAINS), and I don't see any non standard indexes on MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B, so I'm not sure how I could implement the functionality in the apps. Please help!!!!

Yes, Oracle Text is used in iStore Search Feature, Refer to code under $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/ibe/catalog/Search.java for an example, also look at table ibe_ct_imedia_search table and its indexes which gives an idea of how Oracle iStore is leveraging Oracle Test for Searching.
get the data into a staging table and then create whichever index you want, dont modify the indexes on key tables like MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B

  • OIM: Reconciliation with Database Application Tables Connector

    Hi!
I'm trying to use Database Application Tables connector 9.1.0.5.0 in OIM 11g to reconcile accounts from my target system: MySQL 5.1.37. I followed the steps in connector's guide to create and configure it and to configure my target system as a trusted source.
The problem is that user accounts are not being created in OIM, despite of this, I know the connector is retrieving the information of each user because I can see it in the log's messages generated when I execute the reconciliation job, so I supossed the problem may be in the "Modify Connector configuration page" or in some step after this.
Aditionally, I don't know if it's important but I can't see "User Type" field in "OIM user account data set" from "Modify Connector Configuration Page".
Did I forget to do something in configuration or there is something I got to do besides the steps in guide?
    Thanks in advance!

SUN IDM is better than OIM,
Reconciliation process in Sun IDM (oracle waveset) is easier to implement than OIM (worst identity solution)

  • Discoverer Security with eBusiness Suite

Is there any document that explains how discoverer security is integrated with Oracle APPS 11i or 12i security.

    Hi,
I am not aware of any complete document covering eBS security. You can look at John Abel's book Oracle E-Busines Suite Security which covers many aspects including some on Discoverer.
Discoverer integration with eBS menus is covered in the Metalink notes 471303.1 and 278095.1. Connection security is covered in the Discoverer documentation (http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B13918_03/apps.htm#i1006413).
Different apps modules use different mechanism for data security. These are covered in various metalink notes, for example note 290291.1 covers GL security.

  • Configuring WCC with Ebusiness suite OAF Adapter

    Hi All,
I'm working on creating a E-Buisness suiteOAF adapter for WCC. Referring to document "Administrator’s Guide for Application Adapters(E17953-03)" chapters 2 and 7.
I've created the "Managed Attachment" button by following chapter 2, in Chapter 7 " Configuring the Managed AttachmentsSolution", I'm struck at the below configurations setting,
Querry 1: Identifying Key Values for Your OAF Pages, which ever combinations that I take( page with attachment options or without attachment options) not able to find all the required key values
    1. Entity =
    2.View object =
    3.Primary key =
    4.View Attribute =
I understand that these values depend on the page that we select to integrate the "Managed  Attachment"  button, but I've checked this one in many OAF pages, unfortunately, couldn't find these values.
Querry2: 7.4.2Configuring the SOAP Service Call and Managed Attachments URL Display.
Here we need to create an XML file to call AXF...
    - which tier(ebiz or content server) does these xml files needs to be created?
If we have any information around this configuration,in the form of a blog, MOS note id's, please pass it on.
    Thanks in advance
    Rajiv.

If you are using jDev 10.1.2.0.2 BPEL designer and your eBiz is 11i.10 then you should be able to. I don't think Integration Repo is available in 11i.9 which the eBiz adapter application explorer relies on.
But nevertheless, it's not that hard to trigger the concurrent program using DB adapter. Remember good old FND_REQUEST pl/sql api?

  • Integrating Oracle Apex with Oracle eBusiness Suite

    Hi All,
Can someone give me details about how we can integrate Oracle Apex with eBusiness Suite. We have few custom forms/ reports which are being developed in Apex. We want to register these in oracle applications as standard functions and link them to user responsibilities. Is it a good idea to create ApEx as separate application or can we use an existing application (like OM).
Any pointers, references, documents with reference to this would be very useful.
    Thanks in advance.

  • EBusiness Suite User "Auto-provisioning" and  "Self-Request" Problem

I have two types of OIM User, Staff and Contingent
    Staff (Role = Full-Time)
Contingent (Role = Contractor / Role = Consultant)
    Resource Object: eBusiness Suite User
    Here's my RO configuration:
    Auto Pre-populate: true
    Allow Multiple: true
    Self Request Allowed: true
    Allow All: true
    Auto-Launch: true
EBS Connector, by default has two forms:
    UD_EBS_UO: Object Form
    UD_EBS_USER: Process Form
I have requirement which will auto-provision eBusiness Suite User resource to Staff users.
Originally, UD_EBS_OU is the table name used by the RO. For auto-provisioning to work, I have implemented it this way:
First, I have defined a User Group for Staff and assign an Access Policy to it (for users with Role == Full-Time).
Then, I have detached Object Form UD_EBS_UO from the RO. This way, when Staff user is created in OIM, it is automatically provisioned with eBusiness Suite User, though it won't have a Resource Form, only a Process Form. Process Form fields are automatically pre-populated with values (via my Pre-populate adapters).
Now my problem is during Self-Request. Contingent user doesn't get auto-provisioned with EBS RO, but he can self-request for it. Problem is, since I detached the Object Form from the RO, user is not seeing any form during request. And I have a requirement that approver of the request should also be able to view/modify the details of the request form. But that is not possible now that Object Form does not exist for this RO.
Is it possible that Self-Request and Auto-Provisioning works both ways under the same Resource Object? How do I configure that? Appreciate your quick response and help. :)
    Edited by: user10202544 on Feb 10, 2010 3:27 AM

Yes I have set permissions to all users for the Object Form.
It is required for me to have both Self Request and Auto-provisioning work for eBusiness Suite RO.
During approval, however, the approver needs to see the Object Form (where he can view/modify its values before approving it). That's impossible for me since I detached the Object Form from the Resource Object. I need do to this for auto-provisioning to work.
It seems that it doesn't work both ways. Any other suggestions?

  • EBusiness Suite Integration Best Practice

I'm just starting an integration project with eBusiness Suite. We are using SOA Suite for the majority of the intergration points but I have a question over large flat files, e.g. 100MB+. SOA suite doesn't handle these too well as you need to do a lot of tuning and need big hardware.
Traditioanlly we used to use unix scripts and dataloader but this seems so old school, therefore I'm looking for a solution that brings it into this century.
    Any ideas are appreciated.
