OIM upgrade

Hello,
I've one OIM environment version 9.1.0.1862.4 and I have to replicate this environment. After a fresh OIM installation the version is 9.1.0.1860.16. I got p8273427_9101_Generic-BP02. Is this the right patch to upgrade from build 1860.16 to build 1862.4?
Thank you for your help

Yes Build No have meanings.
If it ran successfully then it will update the build no. If it didn't update the build no then its means it didn't run successfully.
BDW, on what basis you are saying that it ran successfully ?
If you see console then it will show you message BUILD SUCESSFULL always. :)
Just see the logs related to patch corresponding to your server. It will show you proper status of your patch.

  • LDAP synch not supported during OIM upgrade from 9.x to 11g

    Hi Experts,
Following line is mentioned in OIM upgrade guide for 9.x to 11g (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/upgrade.1111/e10129/upgrade_oim.htm)
“LDAP Sync is not supported when you upgrade from Oracle Identity Management 9.1 to Oracle Identity Management 11g”
Please help me in understanding the above line.
I have a pretty simple setup of OIM (version 9.1.0.2) with AD and Exchange connected. I guess I don't have any impact of above line.
LDAP synch is required when we integrate oracle identity manager with oracle access manager.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks
    M S

Yes LDAP Sync has most of the features when you have OIM and OAM integrated with each other. You can go ahead with upgrade if LDAP Sync is not part of your requirement.

  • OIM upgrade question

What is the purpose of using upgrade assistant to upgrade OIM Middle tier?
What this upgrade OIM Middle tier task will do?
    Pls assist.

upgrade middle tier performs following tasks:
    - Upgrades OIM 9i components ti 11g
    - Loads all jars (except event handlers) into database OIMHOME_JARS table
    - Performs adapter up gradations
    - All formmetadata.xml components are converted to equivalent 11g configurations
    - Implements MDS configurations of 9i into 11g MDS database
    - Performs SOA configurations
Overall upgrade is two stage process:
    - Database schema upgrade
    - Middle tier upgrade (components of OIM upgraded)
    Refer below:

  • OIM upgrade from 9101 to 9102

    Hi All
I am planning to upgrade OIM 9101 to 9102.
Please suggest me what docs should I follow and what BP of 9102 should I apply to achieve a stable configuration.
    Thanks

    hi
you have to apply a patch with release number 9.1.0.1865.28 to upgrade from 9101 to 9102.
you can get the patch from oracle metalink . Use the readme guidelines to upgrade the instance.
It is highly recommended to take the backup of the OIM database , Xellerate home and Application server as kevin mnetioned above.

  • OIM Upgrade from 9.1.0.1 to 9.1.0.2 - issue

I performed upgrade from 9.1.0.1 to 9.1.0.2. All diagnostic dashboard tests are passed with exception of two tests.
The following checks failed (diagnostic dashboard):
    1. Oracle Identity Manager Libraries and Extensions Version report
    java.lang.NullPointerException
    at com.thortech.xl.systemverification.tests.ReportAppLibrariesExtensionsVersion.addLibraries
    2. Oracle Identity Manager Libraries and Extensions Manifest Report
    java.lang.NullPointerException
    at com.thortech.xl.systemverification.tests.ReportAppLibrariesExtensionsManifest.addLibraries
    Questions:
    1. Documentation states that you have to copy files from PATCH/xelerate/lib to OIM_HOME/xelerate/lib. Does this mean that I have to remove the files from OIM_HOME/xellerate/lib and then to copy them from PATCH/xellerate/lib or just copy (overwrite)? Or the effect is the same either way?
It looks like there is a problem with libraries
    2. I noticed that product version is 9.1.0.1860.16
    Build 1860.16
I would expect it to be 9.1.0.2. Please confirm.
    3. Oracle Identity Manager with OC4J - Best Practices article on metalink suggests the following patches for OAS:
    If 10.1.3.3 is used
    Patch number 6685235
    Patch number 5389650
    Patch number 6454278
    Patch number 6880142
    Patch number 6808170
I have not applied 5 additional patches for OAS. Could these errors be related to missing patches?
Your feedback is very important. Thank you for your time

Did you still get the same product version after resolving your issue?

    1. How to verify that oracle.soa.worklist.webapp is targeted to Oracle Identity Manager server in 11.1.1.5.0?
    2. How to target oracle.soa.worklist.webapp to Oracle Identity Manager Managed Server if it is not?
    3. How to verify that oracle.idm.uishell is in No Stage mode?
    4. How to "address" all pending requests before you begin upgrading? What needs to be done?
    I would appreciate your feedback.

I'm in the same step in my OIM upgrading.
Have you been able to find out these checks?

  • OIM - .xldatabasekey question

Is it possible to use a .xldatabasekey DURING Installation from another OIM environment?
OR, how exactly OIM creates the .xldatabasekey during installation?
Is there a way to intervene the process during the installation?

    Hi Rajiv,
Yes, I am aware of that process (copying key to another instance). However I am specifically interested to know about .xldatabasekey during the OIM installation itself - When we create a "fresh" OIM database - is it possible to use our own key?
If we can use the same database key during the OIM install, I feel that it will be easy during a OIM Upgrade process (such as we can copy the usr_password directly using SQL).

  • Problem in Oracle Identity Manager 9.1.0 Web Console

    Hi,
I did OIM Upgradation from OIM 9.0.3.1 to 9.1.0.
    The Upgradation is completed.
In upgraded version(OIM910)of Web Console,i have some new options in Resource Management and Deployment Management.
When i click those options,it shows "Page cannot Found" error.
Can u please tell me,where this pages will exists or do i need some other customizations to get these things.
Please help me to resolve it.
    Thanks,
    Saranya.

Well what is the error which you get while doing Trusted Recon. If its some connection error then confirm that you have required connection jar files placed in the ThirdParty folder of OIM.
I am not very sure but I thing these would be the jar files required:
    Oracle 8i - classes12.jar
    Oracle 10g - ojdbc.jar
so make sure you have right jar files.
    Thanks
    Sunny

  • Exchange Adapter Create Mailbox polling interval?

As part of the Exchange Adapter functionality it checks AD to see if the Exchange attributes are set on the AD user. Depending on your AD configuration it can take some time for those attributes to get populated on all DCs. The behavior of the adapter is to repeatly check for those attributes being set until it hits some timeout threshold. That threshold is configured via the RMTimeOut code of Parameters.Exchange. I can increase RMTimeOut to a huge number so that eventually it will see the Ad attributes. But I would really prefer to set a number of times to check and\or an interval to check. In it's current implementation it keeps thrashing against AD repeatedly checking, without a break, until it hits that TimeOut threshold and that seem LTD. Any insight is appreciated.

No fix - I just increased the time to something huge. But the latest Exchange adapter 9.1.1 says its changed how RMTimeOut is handled and maybe that will resolve the issue.
Unfortunately you have to be on the latest rev of OIM to use the the latest Exchange connector, I'm not & an OIM upgrade is not an option at this time.

  • RoleManagerService.getRoleMembers doesn't work in OIM11gR2

    Hi,
I use a custom class developed to 11gR1 version to send mail notification, this class use the standard API "roleManagerService.getRoleMembers(roleID, true);" but now, after OIM upgrading to version 11gR2 this API don't work, and always return this exception:
    getUserMemberships: oracle.iam.identity.ex
    ception.RoleMemberException: oracle.iam.identity.exception.RoleMemberException: java.lang.RuntimeException: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-01747: invalid user.table.column, table.column, or
    column specification
So To get member we try to implement a workaround using "tcDataProvider.class" to extract user memberbership directly from OIM DB, but also in this case I catch an exception: "classDefNotFoundException"
which is the problem? are these classes deprecated?
How can we get the user list by role?exist a new API that provide this function?

I am afraid something wrong might have happened during upgrade..
    Errors are database specific...
So, probably some sql scripts etc are not executed properly....

    Any Idea ?
    Ritu

    Hi All,
We are also trying to upgrade OIM 9.1.0.2 which is present in our environment to OIM11g. Request your help.
Now how do we achieve the upgrade? Should my source of OIM9i software  and target of OIM 11g software  be installed on the same server?
I did install OIM11g and OIM9i on the same server  and tried to do schema upgrade based on the link:
    Upgrading Oracle Identity Manager Environment
But during examine phase I get error the below error
UPGAST 00091- ERROR DURING EXAMINE OF COMPONENETS
UPGAST 01004- UPGRADE IS UNABLE TO DYNAMICALLY LOAD COMPONENET SPECIFIC SOFTWARE MODULES.
When i check in the log in internet it says :
Cause: Repository upgrade framework was unable to dynamically load the Java classes of its component-specific software modules. mrua.xml file might have been corrupted.
Action: This is an internal error. Verify that the Java classpath has been correctly set, the mrua.xml file is correct, and that the .jar files for all component-specific software modules are present in the jlib directory. Contact Oracle Support Services for assistance
What is the javaclasspath to be set?how to check if mrua.xml and jar files are fine
Pls help.Any help is much appreciated.
