OIM: What is Precompiled folder used for?

Hi.
I've just wanted to ask - why copies of OIM application files (such as xlWebApp.war and Nexaweb.war) are duplicated in the OIM_HOME\xellerate\webapp\precompiled folder?
When I want to change the appearance of the OIM web-console, I replace the xlWebApp.war file, and then restart my application server, but because precompiled folder still contains the old versions of files, changes affect OIM web-console only after 2nd or 3rd restart (even though I'm using patch_jboss script shipped with OIM)
How can I force update files in the precompiled folder?

When you run patch_oc4j.sh , some log file are created in XL_HOME/logs:
patch_oc4j.log
oc4j-precompile-xlWebApp-oc4j.profile.log
oc4j-precompile-Nexaweb.war-oc4j.profile.log
Check your log for error. After run patch:oc4j.sh with success you must obtain a new war files in XL_HOME/webapp check creation date to confirm. If all is fine in the logs, and you have oracle oas up , the script deploy also the application ear on oc4j. After this you will need to restart oc4j.
If you add custom jsp, tld, and more stuff like that, you must be sure in oc4j-precompile-xlWebApp-oc4j.profile.log that all was fine because ant sctipt precompile all jsp files and adds resultant jar to the war.
you must obtain something like this in patch_oc4j.log on last lines
"patch:
BUILD SUCCESSFUL
Total time: 12 minutes 48 seconds"
And something like this in oc4j-precompile-xlWebApp-oc4j.profile.log (sorry my system is in spanish) :
"agregando: WEB-INF/lib/__oracle_jsp_xlWebApp.jar
