[OIM11gR1] Adding fields to user's search in self service request

Hi,
Does anyone already tried to add additionnal fields to the search part of request in OIM ? For example during Modify User Profile, Assign role or Provision resource ?
Unlike in administration interface, i haven't found a way to add search fields in self service.

I redefined the method EH_ONSEARCH_BTN of component BT116S_SRVO/ADVANCEDSP. Because i used this in service order. you can same method of Service request component.
Use can call method insert_selection_param of class cl_crm_bol_dquery_service
to set the SERVICE_ORG parameter with value of Employee's service org.

Adding field to user form

I am little confused here. I am adding field which is not in User Object. I extended user object with my new field xxxxx. Where Can I find this field when I will create view.

If you have properly set up a User Extended Attribute, the view variable will be accounts[Lighthouse].attributeName.

You can add attributes to the default list of extended attributes for a user object. These attributes, called user extended attributes, are stored on the User Extended Attributes Configuration object in the repository.
This Configuration object defines additional attributes that are stored in the user objects in the repository. The system ignores any attribute value in the accounts[lighthouse] namespace of the User view that is not registered in the configuration object.

Inbox Search - status for service request not updated

Hi,
In inbox search, the status change for a service request does not reflect until the user log offs or opens the service request in edit mode. PFB the steps followed. (Two users are monitoring the service request but is being processed only by one)
Web UI window 1(User 1): I open the inbox search result page. Service requests are displayed with the status field
Web UI window 2(User 2): In a separate window, the service request is approved by changing the status of the service request to Approved.
Web UI window 1(User 1): In the inbox result screen, i click on search for the same search criteria, but still the old status of the service request(updated in window 2) is displayed.
Observation:
1. If I open the service request, the service request still has the old status. If i click on edit, the new status is displayed. If i click on Back button (without clicking on edit), the new status is refelected for the service request in the inbox result page now.
2. If I log off and again open the inbox result, the new status of the service request is reflected.
3. The status of the service request is updated in the database immediately user 2 changes the status.
There is no enhancement done for the inbox search. The behavior is for standard inbox result.
Please provide any pointers to resolve this issue.

This is standard behavior in the SAP inbox. The reason is that SAP buffers search results in the Inbox in order to improve performance. So even though you hit "search" again, SAP does not update the search results because this search has already been executed in this session. Clicking "End" or logging off refreshes the buffer.
SAP released a note to update the "Responsible Employee" in the Inbox without requiring the user to log off. You can see their explanation and the solution here:

If you want to enable inbox refresh every time a search is executed, you will probably have to do custom coding. My guess is that you may be able to leverage the CRM_IC_INBOX_BADI. Let me know if this much info is enough or if you want further details on how to technically achieve this.

Your user will have the Administration page if they have an Authorization Policy configured to allow the user any of the User Management or Role Management Functions. Also, if you login as a user that has those tabs, and logout while on the Administration tab, sometimes i've noticed the new user logging in with the same browser session will be in the Administration tab but with no items available.

SAP GRC Compliant User Provisioning (CUP) Password Self Service

Hello everyone,
I am setting up Password Self Service within CUP. For those users that do not already have access to the UME frontend, I know that I need to create a user ID in the UME frontend for each user so that they can access the Password Self Service option. Since I only want the user to access the Password Self Service option, what UME role do I assign to them to ensure that they cannot access anything else within CUP?

Johonna,
The 3 defined roles are only those suggested by SAP.
You can create your own roles by assigning the various actions as needed to provide access or restrict as your organisation requires.
However, depending on your patch level, you may find that certain actions are dependant on others to work properly.
Also, you either grant access to the functionality or not. There is no partial or display only setting in the java stack.

TREX - Service Request search

Hello,
I am trying to use TREX on my project. Could you please help me implement these requirements:
I need to add the « Free text » search criteria in the search view of component SRQM_INCIDENT_H. This view is used to perform searches on the Service Request object (BUS2000223).
The “Free text” search criteria should search within attachments linked to a Service Request.
I came across these 2 terms on several websites on TREX : “SES : SAP Netweaver Enterprise Search or Embedded Search” and “SAF : Software Agent Framework”. What is the difference between them?

for 1) I would suggest that you first try to get the Service Requests full text indexed based on the SAP standard delivery. The instructions at Enable full text search using TREX (Embedded Search - Enterprise Search) can be helpful. But I've noticed that there where changes on the Embedded Search since CRM 7.0 EhP2. After you have the search working look for the BAdI that should be available to enhance the search with a custom field and then use the methods used in the test report ESH_TEST_SEARCH or better go via the BOL object of the Embedded Search.
for 2) check out the improvement Integrate the CRM attachment with the CRM embedded search which was developed by SAP on request of customers via the Customer Connection process.
for 3) please check out the standard documentation Embedded Search - Search - SAP Library. As I haven't worked with SAF I can't say anything about it.

Adding Fields to People Search Results Page

Hi
Working in SharePoint Online, I've been able to add a few fields to the People Search results page successfully:
Organization
Office Locator
Office Location
Work Phone
Mobile Phone
Home Phone
Work Email
All of the above fields are working and display on the People search results page.
I tried to add these and they simply do not display. There is no error:
University Email
Assistant
Calendar/Scheduling
I set them up the same way. I created the Property in the User Profile area. I then populated the data for each user. I then added the property as a Managed property (search schema) linked to the Crawled property from the People category.
Made sure that they were query able, retrievable, searchable, etc. Then I edited the People Search code and then I waited over the weekend for the search to pick them up. I came into work this morning and they still do not display. Here is
my code, just in case I missed something. Thanks.

According to your post, my understanding is that you have an issue about adding fields in people search results page.
Per my knowledge, there is no issue in your steps, and the issue may be related to the search crawl in SharePoint online.
For SharePoint server on-premise, we can start the search full crawl, however, for SharePoint online, we could not start the search full crawl manually.
You can wait for some time to complete the search full crawl in SharePoint online, then check whether it works.
As this is the forum for SharePoint server on-premise, I’m not familiar with the SharePoint online search crawl, for this issue, I recommend you can post a new question in the forum for Office 365/SharePoint online.

Bug after adding fields in advanced search mode of af:query

We are migrating from JDeveloper 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.7.
I noticed the following issue:
In a page with search criteria (based on a view object), when the user adds an additional field in advanced search mode and clicks on a full submit button in the page, the following browser popup appears:
"This page is asking you to confirm that you want to leave - data you have entered may not be saved."
This was logged as a bug in Oracle Support but we have not been able to find a workaround yet.
This is the only issue currently blocking us from migrating to 11.1.1.7. Has anyone else faced this issue? Any ideas on how we can bypass this behavior?

Unfortunately, the latest update from Oracle Support was that they no longer consider this a bug!

Bug 17346704 - ADDING FIELD TO AF:QUERY ADVANCED SEARCH CAUSES SPURIOUS WARNING DIALOG POPUP
1. I cannot understand how something that blocks user actions and cannot be bypassed in any way could be considered "acceptable behavior".
2. I also do not understand how a Bug can be lodged and then have its status changed to "Not a Bug".
3. Even if we were to ignore this issue and convince our customers that they should be delayed by meaningless popups while working (which we cannot), their is still another issue that makes this functionality dysfunctional. When the user clicks on "Stay on Page" the popup closes and the page freezes and becomes unresponsive.
Off course this is another issue and a different SR should open, but I think it shows that something is going very wrong with this functionality.
I wonder if anyone else is considering using JDeveloper 11.1.1.7.0 in a production system.

its working fine...
in the code i have some conditions like if the table is already created.. then it should execute the code written for creating table..?

CL20N can not display added fields in the search result ?

In needs of displaying storage location for each material in the transaction CL30N , we use the user exit CLCLRS01 and CLCLRS02 to add new field. But after that the added field is not displayed

2LIS_02_ITM - Adding fields to communication structure - User exit

Hello,
I have read the weblog of Roberto Negro concerning the possibility of adding fields to the communication structure of an extractor.
In his article he talks about MCVBAK and so on and refers to enhancements MC10001, MC50001, MC60001.
I am trying to do the same with 2LIS_02_ITM.
The communication structures are MCEKKO and MCKPO.
Can someone explain how to proceed in order to locate the approporiate user exit ?

in VA03 - header - order data i added a text field in that Order data tab , and also i appended a field ZZSCON in VBKD
where should i add the code to insert the text field in the DBtable(VBKD)

Maybe you can try searching for the user-exits in standard code. Debug the transaction and set breakpoint in desire statements.
Breakpoint --> Breakpoint at --> Breakpoint at Statement
and then here write: CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION
Then pressing F8 it will go directly to the next breakpoint (next user-exit in standard code). Verify that you have access to your customer field in user-exit parameters.

Fillable picture field for users

ok so I have worked out how to make a PDF with fill in text fields etc, now I want to add an image field that users using adobe Reader can insert their own photo. I am currently trailing Acrobat XI Pro and Adobe forms central. The image field is essential to the form and I do not wish to purchase unless it is possible to insert this. Please help or advice on what program will allow this sort of form to be created and used with Adobe Reader would be much appreciated.

FormsCentral PDF workflow is not compatible with "attachments". That means that you will not be able to create a PDF form using FormsCentral that submits data to be collected by FormsCentral that would support an attachment.
If you wanted to distribute the PDF to collect responses another way, not using FormsCentral then there are ways to create an attachment field, but again the adding of the attachment field would not be done in FormsCentral. You can create the PDF form in Acrobat or another program, or you can use FormsCentral to create the rest of the form, save as a PDF without a Submit button and then further edit the PDF in Acrobat XI adding the attachment field and your own Submit button. Session Time Out For UNLOGGED IN USER During Search -pls help SIR!

The problem lies in searchresultscontroller.java/searchcontroller.java file under search/web/handler of an application that supports educational note sharing.
The problem is that -
When I search with query strings in different fields(as you will find in the above mentioned java files)..the keywords in resourcedto and get some files as search results.
Then I click on one of the file from within the search result and visit the file.
Here if I m logged in as an user, and the session time out is set to 1 minute in the web.xml file of the web folder not the admin folder then when I hit the BACK TO SEARCH button it easily goes back to the previous search result page along with the queries string that I had input previously.
The problem is that when I m NOT LOGGED in as an user, and I've performed a search with queries and other dropdowns in the search panel, I get the search result page, I visit the file by clicking on one of them but when I hit the BACK TO SEARCH button I don't see the previous search result page from where I had navigated to view the file.
Please suggest on what changes shall I make in the code so that even if I m not logged in as an user, I get back to the search result page on hitting the BACK TO SEARCH button from the file view page.Sir I m herein pasting the code of the searchresultscontroller.java file, but please feel free to ask for anyother file whose code you might want to see.SEARCHRESULTSCONTROLLER.JAVA FILE CONTENT-
