OK, Apple Just Said it's done something to remedy SloMail...field reports?
I just received this message, and have noticed some mail improvement in the last few days. I guess there's no way to know until the workweek kicks up. I am still very disappointed in Apple's response/communications re this problem.
(yes, I may be conflating a .Mac problem with an AppleMail problem that continually requires me to quit or go off line and on mail to receive mail, but not sure...

As a result of recent increases in email traffic, some email service providers have experienced various connection issues when attempting to send email to the .Mac Mail system. This increase in email traffic may have resulted in delayed delivery of email sent to .Mac accounts, or delivery failure notifications returned to the originating sender.
Apple has implemented several measures in the .Mac Mail system to help resolve these issues. To assist in our continuing investigation, please inform us in the event either of the following occurs after May 20, 2006:
- Delivery of email to your .Mac account is delayed
- Email sent to your .Mac account is returned to the originating sender with an error
If email delivery to your .Mac account is delayed, verify the issue occurs when using .Mac Mail on the web, <http://webmail.mac.com>.
If email is not delayed when viewed in .Mac Mail on the web, the delay may be the result of your email client application, such as Mac OS X Mail. For assistance troubleshooting Mac OS X Mail, please visit Apple support on the web, <http://www.apple.com/support/>. If you use a third-party email client, please refer to its support resources.
In the event that any of these issues continues to affect your .Mac account, please reply to this email and provide as many relevant details as possible, including the full headers from any delayed email.
To view an email header using Mac OS X Mail in Mac OS X version 10.3 or 10.4:
1. Select the email you want to view.
2. Choose View > Message > Long Headers

Disappointed how or why?
It appears Apple/the .Mac support team is working on resolving various connection issues.
I've experienced no problems with my .Mac account receiving mail via the Mail.app or anything that requires me to quit the application or go offline so I don't believe your problems with the application are related.

I have an apple id which I have been happily using to purchase from iTunes and it appears magically on iPad and iPhone, MacBook and partner's iPod touch. Now I have done something wrong in iCloud and my mobile me Id comes up on iPhone and iPad so I can no longer purchase using this and i can't find a way to reset What should I do? I want to be able to buy apps from iPhone and iPad from this same account and still synch with my mac book and share with my partner's iPod touch.
Any suggestions?We are users, not Apple. We cannot trace your phone, and neither can Apple.
Please change every password you have. Posting your email addresses and Apple IDs on a public forum is insane. Hopefully a Mod will edit them out for you. -
so i tried to restart the iPod, 'forget' the wifi name and re join nothing happened. i also did the reset network connection. as i said please give me something i can do via macbook or home since i live no where near a apple store. Last year my iPod shut off and wouldnt work this now is happening. Do i have to restore?? and how can i save everything from deleting....??
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Have you tried connecting it to your computer and restoring the iPod via iTunes?
If iTunes does not see the iPod try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then restoring the iPod. For recovery mode see:

I just ordered a macbook air today and need to know if the 128gb SSD is enough space. I presently have a macbook pro and am using only 30gb hard drive space so, the apple rep said 128 is enough as I do not load much pictures or gaming etc. Also is i5 ok.
Id choose the I5 yes, depends on what your usage is going to be,
....your question about "128 gig being enough" begs the question for IDEALIZED USE of your macbook AIr
In the case of a Macbook Air with ‘limited’ storage on the SSD, this distinction becomes more important in that in an ever rapidly increasing file-size world, you keep vital large media files, pics, video, PDF collections, music off your SSD and archived on external storage, for sake of the necessary room for your system to have free space to operate, store future applications and general workspace. You should never be put in the position of considering “deleting things” on your macbook SSD in order to ‘make space’.
*Generally, unless you NEED the data at least once every few weeks or once a month,...it really does'nt NEED to be on the SSD of your Macbook Air.
Professionals who create and import very large amounts of data have almost no change in the available space on their computers internal HD because they are constantly archiving data to arrays of external or networked HD.
Or in the case of the consumer this means you keep folders for large imported or created data and you ritually offload and archive this data for safekeeping, not only to safeguard the data in case your macbook has a HD crash, or gets stolen, but importantly in keeping the ‘breathing room’ open for your computer to operate, expand, create files, add applications, for your APPS to create temp files, and for general operation.
Ive got more APPS than any human should have on my 128gig AIR,..(50 or so),....and 10gig of working data, important files etc etc.
Still have 82gig available....... the entire point is that someone shouldnt consider the Air a "storage device" for tons of pics, music, vids, etc.
*Never consider any computer a data storage device at any time under any circumstance, rather a data creation, sending, and manipulation device. Anyone who thinks data is safe on any computer, even copied upon multiple partitions is making a mistake that will, without fail, strike.
For needs of packing around a LOT of "big data" with your Air in its case..., get a nice 1TB HD for $70, or even a 2TB drive not much bigger.

While there's no way to get flash on your iPad and probably never will be, you can use several things to help you access some flash products.
1) Skyfire for the iPad is a web browser that will convert flash videos and allow you to play them on the iPad. Simply purchase it from the App Store and then you can use it instead of Safari when you want to view flash videos.
2) SplashTop for iPad will allow you to remote control your desktop or laptop computer and use it from the iPad. You basically install the SplashTop software on your computer, set it up, then load SplashTop on your iPad and it will allow you to use the computer from your iPad -- that means you can do anything your computer can do.
I'm guessing in your situation Skyfire will be the best option for you.
Fortunately the popularity of the iPad/iPhone/iPod is forcing a lot of major sites to use non-flash options, so in the next few years we may not care that flash isn't available.
Adobe is also working on a lot of tools, and have some available now, that will help sites switch away from Flash to use HTML5 instead.
Lastly, you're welcome to follow the other suggestions and find a buyer for your iPad 2. If you do choose to do that, I would recommend you spin the product positively, as you will get much less money for it if you let your frustration bleed off on the new buyer. -

how do you unlock your ipod..we have tried different passcodes and now is is saying to plug into itunes...guy at the apple store said to plug into itunes too...

If you haven't already created an account in the app store:
Scroll down to the bottom of the FEATURED page touch APPLE ID and CREATE ACCOUNT
If you have already created an account in the app store:
First of all, double check you're spelling the password right.
If you're sure it's not the password, scroll down to the bottom of the FEATURED page in the App Store on your iPhone, touch APPLE ID: and then VIEW ACCOUNT and make sure you have the correct card details and billing address on your account.
Also, connect your iPhone to your computer, then log in to the iTunes store in iTunes on your computer and check all your details. After you've updated your details sync your iPhone.
If you still can't get it to work, book an appointment with a genius at your nearest Apple Store. They should be able to solve whatever the problem is.
