Ok, dummy alert...

Hi people...
I use DJ1800 (dj1800.com) to mix at home. I like doing my little bedroom mixes to play on my iPod-saves me buying mixed CD's every year with the same stuff on-i just make a really good one from the off . I used to use my iMic on my old iBook, play the music through the CD player and record it at the same time. I'd then play the tape back realtime and record it to my iBook via Soundstudio.
Now, i've been told that i can use Garageband to record the mix as i'm doing it, so no faffing about using tapes etc. The thing is, i've played around for ages trying to record what i'm doing but no joy!
On Dj1800, i have the sound prefs set to:
Cue: Headphone's on Mac
Output: Standard Mac output (through the Mac's built in speakers).
So what do i need to change in Garageband to make it record what i'm doing on the Mac? Has anybody understood what i mean? Feel like i'm talking gibberish! If Garageband isn't the program i should be using, what should i use instead?

Concern: NO ALerts being triggered for SXMB_MONi errors

Hello Experts,
I have configured the SXMB_MONI alert setup in alrtcatdef t-code according to Michal's Blog.
The users configured in SU01 are using the RML mode for communication.
I am able to see the dummy alert triggered from Standard reports like RSALERTTEST in my Alert Inbox (RWB).
But I am unable to see any alert mails (in RWB) for errors being generated in SXMB_MONI.
Kindly help as to what is missing in the alert setup.
Is it anything at the SMTP level or am I missing something in Alert Setup itself?
PS: On checking the "Overview of Send Requests" in SCOT t-code it shows the error "Cannot process message, no route from <login_id> to <SYSID>:<CLNT>:<login_id>.
This error also is shown only for errors triggered from the Report RSALERTTEST and not the actual errors from SXMB_MONI.

you need to do the configuration of SMTP adress in the mail configuration
go to SCOT transaction and select the SMTP node and select the internet and configure the SMTP host and port details there
and check the option node in use then test the routing

Adapter Engine for XI

if your trial is over, it's over. there's no easy way to re-start a 30 day trial even if it ends before 30 days, Adobe trial software expired early
if you only had problem 1, you could probably resolve it by right clicking ae and clicking 'run as administrator'.

Report - Alert Message when Link with value 0 is clicked

Hi,
I have a report with many fields eg. Year , Count of High Priority Project , Count of Medium Priority Project , Count of Low Priority Project.
I have used Column Attributes to link the report data to page 22.
Now , some of the cells in the report have 0 . Is it possible that when user click on 0 the link does not take to page 22 , but show javascript alert window stating no data.
Any help will be highly appreaciated.

Below is a bare minimum version of my report.

I have a table say dummy_project with field Year , Priority ( it can have only any of these three value - High Medium and Low ) and Project_Status ( it can have only any of these three value - Red , Green and Yellow ) --- As you can see value of the field has been used as Column Lable ( eg. High , Low and Medium ) --
now when user click on first cell which has value 1 -- It pass the High Column Lable , Priority (High value is in priority field of dummy project table) , and Year to Page 22.
Since my original report contains 17 fields, it will be very difficult for me to include hyperlink in the query.
Is there any other way to make my hyperlink conditional , when it has 0 value there should be no hyperlink ...
If i use the method which is metioned in the link it will work as I want but the code will become to lenghty and hard to debug ( Condidering there are 17 column) and each column is derived using decode and case and other conditions....

Alert long text not visible

Hello,
I have a problem triggering an alert with dynamic text out of a bpm. The alert is triggered correctly (I can't see any dump in tzhe log files), I can see the alert in my alert inbox, but the long text isn't filled. I'm using SAP Netweaver 2004s SP 9 (SAP Basis 7.00).
Then I tried the same preocedure in a SAP Netweaver 2004 SP 15 (SAP Basis 6.40) with the same settings, and it worked fine. I can see the long message in the alert inbox. The only differnce was, that in 2004s the alert classification 'Webflow Alert' didn't exist, so I had to create it.
Does anybody know, where the problem could be?

Hi,
Just check that the length of the message is not more then the required limit. If thats the case it sometimes does not show the message.
Else, just try re-activating that step again by making some dummy chnages.
This problem happens at times when you are using dynamic variables .

Calling subtemplate in main template based on dummy parameter

Hi Gurus,
Basically i want the PO with Terms and conditions for each PO if the dummy parameter is "Y".Otherwise I need to hide the terms and conditions.
So i have created Subtemplate for Terms and conditions.

Your jquery is trying to add data by calling a function. Also, you're just getting the value of the parameter. There's not a key to trigger anything on your server-side script. Make sure real_news.asp is processing correctly, looking for key (some-key) AND value (tlink). You might want to simply try concatenating the value of the var like this though:

Another way you could do it is use server side scripting to look and see if the URL-PARAM is set and if it is then echo value of URL-PARAM into load() method. php example below. I'm sure you can find an asp equivalent to achieve the same result. I think the key (pun) to this problem is that you do not have a key to associate the value with in order to process anything.

Best Way to monitor standby, primary databases, including alert logs, etc.

Hi, Guys, I finally cutover the new environment to the new linux redhat and everything working great so far (the primary/standby).
Now I would like to setup monitoring scripts to monitor it automatically so I can let it run by itself.
What is the best way?
I talked to another dba friend outside of the company and he told me his shop not use any cron jobs to monitor, they use grid control.
We have no grid control. I would like to see what is the best option here? should we setup grid control?
And also for the meantime, I would appreciate any good ideas of any cronjob scripts.

Alert Drill Down - Draft and Added Documents

Hi,
I want to be able to send and alert that allows drill down when the alert includes draft and multiple types of added documents (ie Sales Order, AR Invoice, Purchase Order, AP Invoice etc.)
Currently my alert query has UNIONs for the draft table and ADDED type documents. For the Added documents I select a dummy draft number. Of course this is very confusing to the user, who need to recognise that this is an ADDED document and not to drill but copy and retreive the document.

Can't set an alert on Calender entries on my Mac

I'm running OS X 10.8.3. I use two Google Apps domains for my calendars. I have no problem adding Calendar alerts to events on my iPhone, but if I try to set them on my MBP, they disappear almost immediately.
Has anybody else seen this problem, and know how to fix it? If not, can anybody help me diagnose it? I've missed events because of an alert I thought I setnot going off.

I think I've found a pretty decent fix:
(1) add a 'dummy' calendar to your 'On my mac' calendars - a calendar that you will in fact never use.
(2) go to calendar preferences and make this your default calendar
when you create an event:
(1) fill out all of the parameters - including the alert, BUT:
(2) change the 'calendar' entry to your desired choice as the LAST step.
this will (somehow) keep the alert in place.

Repeating system alert sound, without user action 10.6.1

After installing 10.6.1 on my Macbook Pro unibody 17", i get a repeating system alert sound every 2 seconds. I have restarted,logged out,changed my sound settings, and eventually just had to turn the system alert volume all the way down.
Anyone else having this problem after the 10.6.1 update? Any resolutions besides muting system alerts?

I think I found my issue - It seems to have been with Peer Guardian. I uninstalled Growl a little while back because of a bug causing Firefox to launch in the background instead of in the foreground (help from Apple's forums helped with finding that fix), and I think PG heavily utilizes Growl for user notifications.
One this you might try is creating a dummy user and logging into that account to see if the problem still exists. If it doesn't, then you know one of your startup items (System Preferences --> Accounts --> (user) --> Login Items) is causing the sounds you're hearing.

1: Make a Dummy report. From some post parameter form trigger, run your original report with "srw.runreport" call. The original report can generate output to a file.
2: Then withing this dummy report run, call a user exit to zip the
original reports output. You need to write this user exit and attach them
with reports.
3: Now use Report 9i distribution for this dummy report to sent this external zip file through mail.

Email directly through XI - Not through Alerts

Hello All,
   I have come across a requirement which I'm not sure if this can be done in XI. The following is the scenario.
1) We receive 855 X12 messages from the suppliers and the Conversion Agent translates this X12 message to an XML IDoc and sends it to XI.
2) Depending on the Accept / Reject codes on the 855 (Which is converted XML IDoc in XI),we need to send an email directly to the Buyer. We get the buyer email address in the PER segment of X12 which is mapped to some IDoc segment in the IDoc XML.
3) We cannot use Alerts through BPM because we want to send messages only to the buyer email address and not to a Group email address.
Can this functionality be achieved with in XI Configuration without using the Alerts??

hey Balu
its a simple IDOC to mail scenario,u can use conditional receiver determination too and that will make ur scenario easy i guess.
do design and configuration steps as usual for a IDOC to Mail scenario,then in receiver determination u can give condition which says that if Return code = Accept then the send mail,in the bottom under action to be performed if no receiver determined u can check the radio button which says dont do anything.(i m assuming that in case of rejection u dont have to send any mail,is this correct)
Use R/3 as a sender and Mail as the receiver.
also to send mail to an external mail address like gmail or something,create a dummy mail id within ur company and set its mail forwarding to the gmail address,in that way ur mails generated in XI can reach external mail address indirectly.

Dummy messages from EM 10G - Very Urgent Please

Hi,
I get several dummy messages in my inbox from Enterprise Manager Control 10g that OC4J Instance is down. Message like:
EM Alert: Critical: devdjtc - The OC4J instance is down
EM Alert: Critical: OC4J_EM - The OC4J instance is down
EM Alert: Critical: csv - The OC4J instance is down
EM Alert: Critical: HTTP_Server - The HTTP Server instance is down
Can any one help me to fix this?

Well the scripts that do it are ..
oc4jresponse.pl, iasresourceusageforifiles.pl and oc4jjvmresource.pl.
In iasresourceusageforifiles.pl and all its doing is greping the ps command looking for oc4j running..

My suggesting would be to edit emd.properties, modify PERL debugging, start n stop emdctl agent.
Then addlines to iasresourceusageforifiles.pl like
EMD_PERL_DEBUG("mydebug:$ps_output");
EMD_PERL_DEBUG("mydebug:$ps_command");
EMD_PERL_DEBUG("mydebug:$oc4j_key");
see what the debug tells you .. perhaps there is a bug somewhere?!
