OK GUI BOXE'S Dissappear, flash behind iTunes.  Ctrl+Alt+Del to quit

Recently upgraded to iTunes 7. Anytime an "OK" GUI Box is presented in iTunes and I click "OK", the GUI "OK" box Dissappears and flashes behind iTunes. iTunes then becomes unusable. There are no errors except for the annoying Windows beep. I have to CtrlAltDel and end the program. After restarting the program Itunes works fine until I need to make a settings change and whenever there is an "OK" gui box.
I have unistalled iTunes 7 and re-installed 6. Same behavior occures now in itunes 6. It hadn't done this prior to installing 7.
Any thoughts on what I should do now?

Problem solved. Used Windows Install clean-up on Reader 9 files, then uninstalled Flash and Acrobat Standard 6, installed IE8 and Reader 9.0 (from files already in desktop folder). Then upgraded to 9.1. What a pain, but it works now.

  • I have a Windows 7 Computer.  When I go into itunes store, it comes up, and I can navigate in it, but a box keeps appearing saying accessing itunes store.  I then get a session timed out, so can't purchase anything.

I own a Windows 7 computer.  I can get into itunes okay, and I can get into the itunes store okay.  After I am in the store, a box keeps appearing that says "Accessing itunes store".  It goes on and off.  I am able to navigate when the box is not showing.  If I try to download music,  I get to the point where I need to agree to the agreement contract, then says "Session Timed Out."  I have the latest versions of itunes and all my Windows Updates.  What can I do about this?

I was struggling with this since my latest Itunes update.  Fiirst it would not recognize my IPad as a device, after correcting that, it would list the Ipad in my device but my Sync had no options (summry, info, etc). and it kept saying it was "Accessing Itunes store".  reading your question I suddently tried deleting the itunes task (alt-ctrl, delete, processes) and delete Itunes.  (By the way, I had rebooted my computer several times over the last few days).  I opened up Itunes, and voila. Device is there. No "accessing windows" and my sync has the normal options.

Don't DL Flash from web sites. If you have Adobe Flash installed it should be in System Preferences and you can find the latest version and download from there.

  • Strange lines appearing behind itunes

I went away for the holidays, and when I got back I booted up my 2006 iMac. Today for the first time, there are strange lines appearing behind iTunes whenever it is open but not the active window. I tried quitting and restarting iTunes, but the lines come back. I wish I could upload a screen shot of what this looks like on my desktop, it's very weird. It does not happen behind any other program window. Only iTunes. The lines appear as if they are extensions of the iTunes window formatting, in line with the side bars, etc. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips for getting it to quit?

I just wanted to add that I am also seeing the same problem: strange lines around the borders of the iTunes window. The most obvious ones are a set of four vertical lines running parallel to both sides of the iTunes window, although there are other strange bits as well, mostly around the top corners of the window, as well as a single thin horizontal line above the top of the iTunes window. These unusual lines started appearing "out of the blue" sometime in the past few weeks -- as in, not right after an update or any other configuration change to my mac... The only change I can say I did recently was to update to OS 10.6.6, although I know others who are running 10.6.6 and aren't having this issue with iTunes. I also wanted to add that in my case, I only see these strange lines when iTunes is the active window. Further to that, updating to iTunes 10.1.2 does not fix the problem, unfortunately.

  • When hovering a box starts to appear behind the cursor and changes brightness

When I use some of the tools in photoshop (eraser, lasso, etc.) a box starts to appear behind it. Depending on the color of what it's hovering over it will start to change either to white or black.
How do I get rid of this? I just want a normal cursor without this box behind it. For some reason when I switched over to Photoshop CS3 this was the preset, and I can't find how to switch it back to the original cursor.

See if trashing your Photoshop prefs. will cure this.

  • Importing Muisc from USB Flash to iTunes...

I just got a new computer and set up a new iTunes account on it. So I'm starting from scratch (I no longer have access to the old computer). So I thought, "Why not save all the music I currenly have on my Windows Media Player and transfer it onto a USB Flash?" I mean it worked on the old computer, Transferring my music in Windows onto iTunes. So I now have well over 500 tracks on my USB Flash just waiting to be uploaded into my new iTunes account but for some reason I can't import my tracks onto this new iTunes? What am I doing wrong or how can I transer my music so I can Sync it to my phone.
I currently upgraded to the latest version of iPhone and it wiped all my music except for my purchased tracks through iTunes. Is there any way I can transfer my songs from the USB Flash onto iTUnes? IF so how do I go about doing this?
Somebody out there... Please help! Thanks...

If they are DRM-free or are iTunes tracks:
Go to iTunes Preferences, Advanced tab, and check "Keep iTunes Music Folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" and click "OK".
Then choose "File/Add folder to library" and browse to the USB drive.

  • I recently tried to upgrade my itunes on my dell laptop with 64bit Windows 7 and it stopped working completely. So I tried deleting and installing all over again and haven't been able to reinstall it since. I've tried numerous things i've read in forums

I recently tried to upgrade my itunes on my dell laptop with 64 bit windows 7. It stopped working so I deleted all files and tried to reinstall and haven't been able to since. I've tried numerous things i've read in forums and nothing seems to work. The installation will not move past the "publishing product information" point. After being stuck there for a while this error message appears:
An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32",publicKeyToken="1fc8b 3b9a1e18e3b",process or Architecture="x86"', Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x800736FD
I hope someone is able to help me with this.

Did you already try what bnoir suggested in this post about error 0x800736FD:
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 800736FD, or some other number? (If they're another number, what number are you getting?
This thread might help as well, suggestion provided by bnoir:
In general, these ones tend to be caused by underlying problems on the PC that can prevent Windows Updates from installing. So my main strategy with them is to try to fix the Windows Update issues. If we can get Windows Updates flowing again, that generally clears up the iTunes install errors +en passant.+
Head into your Windows Update, and check for any new updates. Do any fail? If so, open your Update History and doubleclick on the failure entries to bring up a small box with alphanumeric error message codes. Are you getting 8000FFFFs? (They often seem to be associated with an iTunes-install 0x800736FD.)
If you're getting 8000FFFFs, try the following Microsoft document:
    [Windows Update Error 8000FFFF|http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Update-Error- 8000FFFF]
Head back to Windows Update, and stock up on any updates you're behind on. Once you're completely up to date in that regard, try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • How do I download iTunes to my dell pc?

I am trying to download iTunes onto my Dell home pc.  Any help I can get will be greatly appreciated!  I click on "Download iTunes" and pops up a box that asks me if i want to save the file.  I click save and immediately the site says, "thank you for downloading iTunes, blah blah blah"  I cannot find an icon or cannot see anything on my pc that pertains to iTunes whatsoever.  Please help!!

It seems that in some cases the scripts on Apple's site that are intended to query your system to offer the appropriate installer don't work as intended, taking you straight to the "Thank you for downloading" page.  Depending on the edition of Windows you are running, there are three variants of the most recent version of iTunes, with direct links to the installers as follows:
    iTunes 12.1.2.27 (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe
    iTunes 12.1.2.27  (64-bit) - iTunes6464Setup.exe
    iTunes 12.1.2.27 (64-bit "for older video cards") - itunes64setup.exe
The third of these - which is actually the 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer - should be used if you get a warning about video card incompatibility when you install the standard 64-bit version, but also may resolve issues with playback, QuickTime compatibility, and problems with some third-party applications (including Outlook).
See turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for more details if you're still having problems with installation.

The Compaq is authorized.  My IPod Classic will not Sync on the Compaq.  I have transferred purchases, but "Sync" is greyed out. How can I get the IPod to sync with the Compaq?

If the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
The iPod should appear in the sidebar, under DEVICES.  Select it there.  To the right, its Summary screen is shown.  Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs ot the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music.  This is the switch to enable automatic syncing.  If your iTunes music library fits on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Select playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Then select what you want on the iPod from the lists below.
Click Apply to intiate automatic syncing between that iTunes library and your iPod (based on how the iPod's Music screen is set up in iTunes).

Currently, iMatch is turned off on my computer, as I do not want to upload any more songs. If I turn it on, will it upload all songs that are currently in my library? Is there another way that deleting them one by one?
You must enable iTunes Match on the new computer. The best way to accomplish what you want to do is to create a new, empty library by launching iTunes while holding down the Option key (Shift on Windows) and choosing "new library." Do not let iTunes scan for new content, but do enable iTunes Match on the empty library. Once the scan is finished you may delete tracks from the cloud. When you are done switch back to the main iTunes library.

  • No Success re-installing iTunes on my Dell PC

Hi,  I have been trying to install iTunes on my Dell pc.
I DID have iTunes installed and running on this computer.  I got an update notice that Version 11.1.4 is available to download, so I downloaded it.
After downloading 11.1.4, I got two error messages, with circled RED X's, saying:
"X iTunes was not installed correctly.  Please re-install iTunes."  "Error 7 (Windows error 126)"
A second message appears when I click out of the above message, and it is:
"X Application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found.  Re-installing the application may fix this problem"
I've tried three times to download iTunes to my PC.
I have removed all iTunes files from my computer, then I downloaded iTunes from Apple.com again.  I realize all my tunes are gone from my PC, but I have them backed up on a separate harddrive, as well as on my iPod Classic, and on my MacBook Pro, too.
However, after re-install iTunes, I'm getting the same messages as above when I click on the iTunes icon on my desktop.
When I click on iTunes in my program menu list, it says that my iTunes software is up to date (Version 11.1.4).
But, when I click on the desktop icon for iTunes, it still gives me the same two messages as I wrote above.
Frustrated, I am thinking that "MSVCR80.dll", whatever that is, is causing my problem.  Anybody know what I should do to reinstall iTunes on my PC?
Any help and ideas are greatly appreciated.

the message i get is that installing itunes is not possible due to an error in Windows installer.
What's the precise text of the error message, please? (There's a few different ones I can think of that you might be getting.)

    Hey xavierfromfl,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with iTunes on your Mac. Let’s see if we can isolate this issue by starting iTunes in safe mode:
iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3430
There are several ways in which an add-on can cause iTunes to act erratically, such as those listed below:
    - Loss of iTunes functionality, such as the Visualizer.
    - Distortion or irregularity in the iTunes interface.
    - Slow performance.
    - iTunes won't open or quits unexpectedly.
    - You see an alert while syncing stating "... cannot be synced. A duplicate file name was specified."
If you notice any of the above symptoms or other unusual behavior, you can disable any plug-ins not manufactured by Apple by opening iTunes in Safe Mode. This is done by holding down the Option and Command keys (on Mac OS X) or holding down the Shift and Control keys (on Windows) while opening iTunes. If performed correctly, you should see the following dialog before iTunes finishes starting up:
"iTunes is running in Safe Mode. Visual plug-ins you have installed have been temporarily disabled."
If the above does not resolve your issue, I’d like to isolate further by testing in another user account:
Isolating an issue by using another user account
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4053
    Symptoms
When isolating issues and/or troubleshooting software issues in OS X, you might want to use a different user account. Learn how to use this technique to narrow down the cause of an issue.
    Resolution
The issue at hand may simply be caused by a bad preference setting or user-specific data file. With proper isolation, you can avoid time-consuming and inappropriate troubleshooting methods.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.
