Ok has anybody else seen a big drop in their synch...
Ok since the really bad rain on Thursday night my noise ratio had dropped from 16 dB down to 5dB and although I was still at 40/10 my max attainable had dropped to just over that.
A quick reboot of the modem this morning improved that with the noise margin going back up to 10dB and the max attainable going up to 45 meg/sec and I was wondering if anybody else has seen such a big change in their stats in the last couple of days?
And by the way my VDSL2 profile stayed stuck at 8c.

So now I last lost 10 decibels of noise margin which corresponds to about 12 meg of attainable.
I am on 40/10 just but I am wondering why is it happening on just the download as the upload is untouched.
Oh well the BT checker with it's 33 meg/sec estimate may be correct after all.

Hi Pete. The repair of disk permissions can help resolve any application crashing or misbehaving.
As for Lion and the two camps, I think that is a reasonable observation. In my office we have about a dozen Mac's and about one third of those Mac's had problems after updating from 10.6 to 10.7. The main problem for these Mac's was a loss of wifi stability. But for the other two-thirds, Lion was a smooth transition.
Personally, my Lion experience was fine. But I did get a new i7 MacBook Pro with Lion already installed and only had to migrate my user data from a 10.6.8 TM backup.
So I think that is a key for Lion's operational success. A clean install of Lion on a new Mac would not cause too many operational issues. But an installation, or more correctly, an update to Lion from SL increased the chances of failure for some users - especially when old software & plugins resided on the Mac. And I would say that they were the people that you saw at the Apple store.
As for the "latest release of Lion fixed my problems" statement, my experience with these and other forums is that people mostly only go there to complain about the problems they are having. If they are having no problems then they either keep it to themselves or they try to help the users who are experiencing trouble... -
Has anybody else noticed a 10-25% openGL slow down with 10.7.5?
Hi, I was running x-plane 9.70 at certain settings on my 17" MBP (early 2011, 10.7.3) and noticed I was getting about 70 fps... nice. I do an update on firmware and OS (10.7.5) and I notice that the x-plane fps has dropped to about 55. The settings and environment the same as near as I can get. I thought this was bad but maybe just x-plane or something peculiar. I also couldn't tell if the performance drop was caused by the firmware update or the OS update.
I remembered I'd done an xbench benchmark with 10.7.3 so I did a new one with the updates... sure enough the openGL numbers had dropped by 20% or so. So, I hooked up my backup drive with 10.7.3 on it and ran x-plane and xbench again to try to isolate the firmware update from the OS update.... The results were x-plane still showed a drop of about 10% and xbench about 25%. Looks like there is something wrong in 10.7.5.

KhanThank you for this first reply! I'll have to give this a try later....the main laptop I experience this on crashed not more than an hour after I posted this issue. I'm on a tiny, slow netbook that hasn't had the same problem. Now I'm wondering if I picked up a Trojan on the main laptop and the "Not Responding" message is a side effect of a virus or Trojan.
One of the system .dll files has been corrupted and I'm not being allowed to use recovery discs, previous disc images, or any recovery options. That was an all day sucker yesterday and from what I've read on forums and have researched, it appears I'm going to need to reload the operating system. If it is indeed a Trojan/virus, I'm surprised it made it through my antivirus and firewall. Anything is possible, really.

I installed the new version of iTunes today. It's 12.1.1. After completing the installation, including restarting my computer, I was no longer able to use Windows Internet Explorer. Has anybody else experienced this? If so, how did you fix Explorer? I was using Explorer 11 and Windows 7, installed on an HP Pavilion g series
Never heard of that being caused by installing iTunes. Try asking on a Windows forum. This isn't a problem with iTunes or any other Apple product. If you believe it is, uninstall iTunes. If the problem persists, you'll have to seek advice on a Windows forum or contact Microsoft for support.

Changed group membership in WGM 10.6.3 from the 10.6 server. The change takes overnight to work. Formerly ran WGM from my 10.6.8 mac (worked perfectly) but now I am at 10.7.5 and must use WGM on the server. Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Quite a few banks encourage customers to install Trusteer Rapport in order to enhance online security. My wife and I have had very different experiences using it, and I uninstalled it in 2011. An Uninstall applet comes with the Rapport installation, because the installer tucks things into many corners of the file system.
Anyway, this month I found in Activity Monitor that rapportd was running and was hogging more than 50% of CPU time! I verified that this was indeed a piece of Rapport and that it had caused similar problems for other users under 10.5 and 10.6. The solution was to turn off Rapport. But I had supposedly uninstalled it.
My bank routed me to Trusteer support, which was plodding and unhelpful. The support tech seemed utterly mystified. So I re-ran "Uninstall Rapport.app" which was still located in /Applications/Rapport (the only item in the folder). That seems to have taken care of the problem. I found that rapportd is supposed to live at /Library/Rapport/bin/rapportd and I verified that it is not there.

After numerous service calls to the cable company, geek squad and complaints to the corporate office and BBB finally, the problem is being corrected. I will be picking up my new TV tomorrow and I pray I dont have to do through anything else with a Insignia product. The sad part is Best Buy was not going to replace the TV until they received my complaint from BBB. That is when I started to receive phone calls from everyone stating how sorry they were for all the problems I have had. I purchased the extended warranty when I purchased the tv and I will make sure that my warrantly is extended to the new TV I will pick up tomorrow. Has anyone else experienced Airplay audio dropping while playing mp3s from MacBook Pro to Apple TV 2 and/or Airport Express g and/or n versions with an Airport Extreme N base? Using mp4 works fine but I've got some older files in mp3 that in between tracks the audio drops out on all external Airplay speakers while the track keeps playing on the computer.
I too have random drop outs on streaming from a Mac mini (2011) to an ATV. It seems to happen for internet radio and all sorts of mp3, mp4 files.

Captivate 8: Getting this message "Unable to locate LMS's API, content may not play properly". Then I get a debug message of "44:Tue Feb 17 2015 : InIsLoaded, returning false". I also see a message in the preview pane when I view the .htm file in the project folder "This course requires JavaScript to be enabled in your browser. Please enable JavaScript, then relaunch the course." JavaScript is already enabled and I'm getting this in IE9 and Chrome 40....Has anyone else seen this?
The first part of your issue will be resolved if you load your course from an LMS. If you are not hosting your content on LMS, you can disable the reporting in your Quiz settings (Edit > Preferences > Quiz > Reporting).
Not sure about the Javascript related issues.

Has anybody else noticed that Find/Change searched according to date added? It doesn't go page by page — it searches in the ORDER that text was added to a document.
For instance, if you started with Pages 300-400, then added text to page 200, then added text to pages 100-200, THAT IS THE ORDER Find/Change will search. Crazy, no?
By the way, does anyone know how to FORCE Find/Change to always center a spread? Currently, it moves the various pages all over the place during a search …We are using Exchange 2010 and IOS 6.0.1 and seeing this issue with exceptions associated to recurring meetings on both the iPad and iPhone.
Oddly, you can make the first change (time of meeting, for example) to an exception in the series and have the change sync from Outlook 2010 to the iPad. If you attempt to make a second change to the same exception, the 2nd change does not sync to the IOS device. Thoughts? -

It appears you are using the free version of the Display Menu app.
What does the Apple Display properties show? System Preferences>Displays>Display show?
Look at the projector/go to the manufacturer's support site and find the native resolution of the projector.

I have 8 mbs of broadband but it does not seem to be adequate for using Facetime or Viber. I lose the connection via Facetime every few minutes and Viber doesn't work at all. It always says that the network connection is poor yet it's showing a full signal on the phone. It was a lot better before the last software update. has anybody else had this problem.

KevinCS2 is very old and reached its "end of life" a while back. So probably won't run on modern operating systems. If you can still run it, you'll need to uninstall what you have and re-install with the download link below to activate it.
