Ok, I am going to get hammered, but I like iMovie 08

There I said it! I like iMovie 08.
I have been able to use it quickly and have gotten results that I am pleased with. The one thing about iMovie HD that I hated was the fact that if your title was shorter than the clip you were attaching it to, that clip would get trimmed to fit the title. This proved to be a major pain.
From what I have seen this is not an upgrade. It is not a downgrade. It is a completely different program.
Frankly I like it and hope that Apple continues to develop it.

I used to having to do with marketing too, now switched to the technical side.
But yes, I agree with that perspective. Marketing wise this move by Apple does not make a lot of sense to me either, unless:
-they really ONLY want to hit a whatever type main stream market, with customers who go about a, sorry to say, use and trash mentality (I do NOT mean to offend those, who can make use of this program!), for that is what it would be, should the other parts of the suite eventually follow the same track.
-they do have in mind to publish a, as you call it iMovie Pro and sell it to what really seems to be a large base of customers whose needs and abilitities are right inbetween iMagicMovie 08 and FCE.
-they believe, they can force people to believe that what Apple says in terms of digital lifestyle just hast to be right for it's Apple. (something I tend to believe...)
I've so far done everything from little mail 'em clips (for that MagiMovie, I must admit, is perfect, to multi hour documentaries, which brought me to the limits of the program, which is why I have considered even before 08 to go ahead and get FCE as a compliment. Actually, I was waiting for a real iMovie 08 to see, if I would still carry on with this thought. But on the contrary, with what Apple has done to 08, I am reluctant getting FCE, for feeling like that could just be what Apple has in mind: Force customer to buy their more pro software, by eliminating what iLife was offering.
What I understand least though, considering iLife is meant as a digital juke box for the masses: Why make the hardware requirements that tough, that half the folks who are targeted, cannot even install it. I personally believe that the average user Apple is targeting with the new idea of the program is not the type who'd afford a new machine with each version of iLife.
I sympathize with the problems developers have: As of now, I am holding back any investment on videoediting software and additions.
Apple did change course at times, if there was enough protest. Let's hope they do it again!

I want you to know, Tom, that you are your only reason that I'm still using FCP X and not banging my head against the wall. I hope Apple is compensating you well.
What do you mean by "export it and import it into FCP?" Neither program has an export feature. I have already imported my iMovie project to FCP X with the map and it didn't come over correctly. Where the map should be there is simply a slide saying, "title & subtitle."

About a month ago or more, I spilled milk and had no idea that it got inside my new macbook air. It stopped working completely, won't turn on. I sent it in to get it fixed and it is $750 ruined inside. Since it is the older 2011 model, I figure I may as well buy a reconditioned 2012 for $850. I am already one computer behind from my 2006 Macbook Pro and haven't been able to move all my data over to the 2011 air. I am hoping that there will be an easy way to get the contents of the air transfered to a new air since it is stored in the cloud. Then maybe I'll see if I can get help moving snow leapord to mountain lion. Not yet though. I'm on a borrowed leopard computer at the moment. Life in the computer world is very slow. Thanks for any help you can give me.

your data/files/pictures will work with mountain lion.
what you need to do now - if you're willing to do it is to go to radio shack or your nearest computer shop and purchase a cheap usb external enclosure - around $6.99 to $10 for this one.
take the hard drive out of the old macbook and install it there. that is the only way you can get your old files from that macbook if you couldn't back it up to your other back drives.

When are we (15") going to get the double click like the 17" and MacBook?

Thew new 17" and the MacBook have an option to double click by using two fingers on the trackpad. I would be EXTREMELY surprised if they used a new piece of trackpad for this. Where's our software update?
Completely unacceptable if us 15" owners are left in the dark.

Yeah, and it didn't work.
I had problems when I updated to iOS 5 (lost all my apps - a few of my friends had the same problem) and when there was an update to iOS 4 (camera wouldn't work). The iOS 5 issue was sorted by backup (but I lost the app data) but for the iOS 4 issue I had to return my iPod to get a new one.

Three things come to mind:
1. I think you're implying when you travel away from your home to a more populated area, the cellular coverage improves and your iPhone works well. Is that right?
2. Do you have a case or some other obstruction over or near your iPhone's antenna? Have you tried moving or removing any possible obstructions near the antenna?
3. AT&T has a (free) app in the App Store called "Mark the Spot". You can use this app to report voice and/or data issues to AT&T, as well as keep up on progress they may be making in improving coverage in your area. Your trouble reports are geotagged (if you wish).

No, but if you really mean that the way you said it, I don't know that Print is the best way to this. If you haven't already, after selecting the images you want to get printed, try clicking the Export button in Book or Library module and then selecting format .PDF. Once you export the file to .PDF, try opening it where you saved it and printing from there, not in Lightroom but in Adobe Reader. If that doesn't help, here are a couple of videos that might--follow their instructions carefully with no shortcuts:

If Lightroom keeps closing even when you try all this, you may need to reinstall Lightroom because your copy may be screwed up.

Welcome to the Support Communities! If you don't have access to the original computer that you use to sync to iTunes, you can backup your iPad to iCloud and update it wirelessly. This article will explain how:

You didn't state how it's connected to each computer, if it's connected through your router then it should work. If it doesn't then you need to contact Canon and ask for assistance.

You can sync your content to a new device but you cannot transfer vouchers from one country's store to another country's store if that is what you want to do.

As it was pointed out making prior arrangements could of helped extend the time you need to get your account back in order..
But if you have to have the phone and its the only thing you have to make calls, I would try other means ( Family, Friends, or other ) to get the rest of the balance payed and you can pay at a Corporate store using the stores Kiosk machine.! You can pay with Cash, Credit or I think with a check but using a check I'd ask the Local store how the policy is on that..
