OK, I have never seen this resolved - Are you up to the challenge?

Hey all. I have searched all over the net. Found many users with this problem, and never see it fixed.
The Problem:
One particular website (xenforo.com/community) will load sometimes, but will not fully load most times. It only partially loads. This problem occurs on all browsers (Chrome, Safari, and Firefox) and on two Mac user accounts. I have seen many people with the issue, they are not the same website that fails to load.
The website works fine on other devices (PC desktop, PC Netbook, PC laptop, HTC Evo, and PS3) running through the same network.
on the iMac, I have connected to the network via airport and via ethernet directly bypassing the router with the same results.
I do not have any virus protection installed. I was running Sophos, but ininstalled to see if that was the problem.
I do not or have never had Peer Guardian installed.
I have looked at the activity monitor and see nothing running in the background that is interfering with the network.
I have tried to switch dns servers using google's and open dns. Nothing changes.

Router:
Linxsys
Like I said, I have searched and searched. Many people have this issue and don't get it resloved. Is there a fix?

Hmm…try openDNS instead incase. Can you ping the site? Site works for me at the moment. Try another browser, try another user account on your mac.
Does http://xenforo.com work for you?
Does the site open in safemode? (hold shift on startup)
Has the site ever worked correctly? What changes, if applicable, have you made to your browser or mac since the issue began?
Have you tried to go the site without the router in the picture? Connect your mac directly to the modem to test.
Do you have any security software installed on your mac?

Ok, I know its been a long time since this was posted but In that time I've managed to get even more information. I enabled the debug report and background crashes notification from the developers tools. Now every time my laptop screen goes black I find an error report saying screensaver has crashed, so from this I've eliminated faulty wiring etc, it seems the controller for the screen going black is the screensaver engine. I found this odd and went into system preferences to see if something happened when i went to the screen saver tab, and low and behold it did, every time i switched from the desktop tab to the screen saver tab system preferences crashed also just shortly before it crashed I noticed that none of my screen savers were listed yet the error report said that I was running the abersque screen saver. So i went to the library>screen savers folder and their were no screen savers stored there, not even my old custom ones. So i went to my user folder and checked the screensaver folder there, and they were gone too. Now I know many people would suggest a re-install of mac OS X but this problem actually started before I did a re-install and it's still continuing at the moment so i went to check my time machine back up of my old system and checked the screensaver files there and they were missing also... in EVERY save that time machine had made, can anyone help me with this, it's really maddening

My phone started acting up and I noticed my text messages were not being sent. So I turned my iphone off. Thank you so much for your response. I had these photos backed up on iCloud but, had I not, its good to have an alternate solution as the one you suggested. Actually, I went to the Apple store today and yes, you are absolutely correct Restoring in iTunes will result in permanent loss of photos unless backed up somewhere such as iCloud or other solution. Well, what they did was restore the phone in itunes ( I did not have iTunes downloaded to my computer which is why it did not work when I went to do it myself, I needed to go to the iTunes site and go to the download iTunes button because my windows based HP laptop does not come with itunes already downloaded). This retoration process took a while and I was forced to upgrade to the latest 7.1 iOS software which I was not too happy about -sometimes you like the way things work now :-) Anyhow, they said this restoration request happens as a result of a software update (which I was NOT in progress of an update or doing an update) or sometimes when you remove the power cable too quickly from the iphone (which I do not recall doing this either but...). Since I had backed up on iCloud all of the photos were downloaded back on my iphone 4s. Best of all was that my phone was back up and runnning and there was NO CHARGE at the apple store for this service of restoring my phone. Well, I just wanted to share the results and I appreciate all the responses and support I received. Thank you kindly.

Hm. I've never seen that in iCal. In some other Applications the tilde "~" indicates a restore point or a before / after for a file. My guess is there is a broken cache file in iCal.
Try:
Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Language & Text > Formats > Region. Region should be set to the country of your choice. Do not have it set to "Custom" as this can have unexpected results in the iCal window.
If that doesn't resolve the issue:
1. First make an iCal backup: Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
2. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
3. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
--- NOTE: To get to "Home > Library" in Lion: Click anywhere on the desktop and then click on the "Go" menu at the top of the computer screen while holding down the "option" key on the keyboard. You will see "Library" in the menu.
4. Launch iCal and test.
If the issue persists:
1. Go to iCal > Quit iCal
2. Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache if present)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
--- NOTE: Removing these files may remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
3. Launch iCal and test.

Completer wants to make changes. Type in your password to allow this. I have never seen this before and it wants my admin. pw.

I've never seen this request before. I rarely shut down my computer, and when I restarted it this morning, the above is what I got in a small box. I've tried to find "Completer" in help and communities but there is nothing. I don't want to put in my password until I know it is valid. I found on "google search" about Genieno which led me to a link in the Apple Communities. There is nothing in my apps or computer with that name. Anybody know what this is? Thanks.

There should be nothing native to the OS X which would ask for a password
or other information on a restart, unless accompanied by the traditional login
box with your user name.
There are adware or marginal products that could be called malware (bad)
that would impose their presence and some items that could have been
downloaded by accident or through some corrupted free software site; of
those some could ask for and gain permission to go through your Mac
and maybe even run in the background to do other nefarious misdeeds.
You could see if startup in SafeBoot allows you access past that the Completer.
Since I don't have a pile of helpful article links on how to resolve various issues
I'd be looking them up one way or another.

I have NEVER seen this symbol on start-up

I have a PM G4, 466 for the kids. Had 10.4 running, with second drive partitioned for games, OS9, etc. Main drive failed, gave me errors, so I did a fresh install on one of the other partitions.
Here's the weird thing, the install went fine, but when it starts up I get the Apple logo with the spinny wheel for about 30-40 seconds, then I get a grey "do not enter" or "no" (circle w/diagonal line) symbol and the spinny wheel....
System start-up goes no further.
I've re-installed the system several times, same results.
I've run disk utility, no errors, even Disk Warrior, Drive Genius, Tech Tool, no problems reported, but won't start.....
Now I HAD this dang thing running 10.4 before...
Any help would be appreciated.

ok so i have a working internet connection if i connect directly to the modem. i take the ethernet and plug it into TC and run the network wizard to setup everything up and it was working says no internet connection get the flashing amber. played with some setting got it to run through the wizard again and presto green light and no reported problems. open safari to test and the wonderful your not connected to the internet pops up. i dont know what to do anymore any one else ever see that. i am at a university but just have regular comcast internet in our apartment but do you think the school needs to tell me some settings so i can get it going

Are you able to go back to where you bought it from and see if they can activate it properly ? Never seen this happen before, have you?

Hi everyone,
I have never seen this happen before, were I edit a segment of video about 2 minutes long, I render it out and afterwards the clips in my edit change completely to something different. It takes footage from the same tape and replaces my clips with random clips.
Does anyone know what is happening and how to fix it.
I have just erased and installed a fresh copy of OSX and all my programs have been newly installed, hoping it would resolve this issue.
I could really use someones opnion.

Only thing I though of was deleting the clips, renaming the timeline, moving the entire project onto a new harddrive and erasing all the render files.
If this does not work I am going to toss my MAC out the window!

I have copied and pasted hundreds of times before with Mozilla and firefox . This just happened suddenly.

What happened?

When you right-click the link, the page immediately tells you you can't copy, or does that occur after you choose Copy Link Location?
If it appears immediately, you can switch a setting in Firefox that should prevent sites from blocking the normal right-click menu. Here's how you would do that:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''context''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''dom.event.contextmenu.enabled''' preference to switch it from true to false.
This setting does have a complication: On Google Maps and other sites that have their own right-click menu, Firefox's menu then will block the site's menu. To clear Firefox's menu so you can access the site's menu tap either the Alt key or Esc key once (but sometimes Esc removes both).
