I've tried to download it but it just gives me individual files with no installer and nothing - including the adobe "instructions" seems to work. How can i get this software in a downloadable format? is it actually free - I'm assuming it is... Hope someone knows the answer to these questions...

The download itself is free and is valid for 30 days only. After that, the software ceases to work.
CS4 is pretty old, no longer sold and no longer supported by Adobe. It's also not compatible with many modern OSes.
Why do you have to work with such an obsolete version of Photoshop?
What kind of "designer" uses it?

My first step would be to get rid of "Norton protection". Boot from your OS 10.6 disc, navigate through your hard drivve and trash anything that is Norton. Empty the trash.
Next, run Disk Utility and ask it to repair the hard drive.

No, your accounts will remain separate, any content that you download via either account will be tied to that account - so each account will only be able to authorise its own downloads on your computer's iTunes, redownload them, download updates to its apps, and make in-app purchases in its apps.
Is there are particular reason why you've created a new account ? If it's due to, for example, no longer having access to your old email account then you can update the email address on an account by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and selecting 'view apple id' on the popup and logging into it, via the Store > View Account menu option on a computer's iTunes (click the Edit button to the right of your id at the top of your account's screen), or via http://appleid.apple.com . If you want to re-use the email address on the account that you've just created then you will need to change that first

Do you have a different web browser installed on your system? If so, try visting the download page using that different browser. Do the download controls appear for you now?

I have video playlists but apparently the videos in my play lists also show up under the movie tab in my iPod, the question is does it take up double the space becuase the videos are in the video playlists and under the movie tabs?

No the menu and the playlist are just pointing you to the same file, in the same way that a song can show up under songs and artist etc.

My student families appreciate the photo emails I send along. Recently, some families (they are working on Macs too) receive the emails but with an x where the picture should be. Any idea what is going on?

The second question. I could save the photo as a pdf as an attachement but I am not sure I know how to do so for the cute mac mail I like to send ... with photos that I typically just drag in.
I wonder why it has worked beautifully for six months (how long I have been a mac user) and suddenly, poof, it works for only some. I send many photo emails :-(
Also, interesting that most who cannot view my photo emails are mac users using mac mail. Some can view it on their iphones, but not their macBooks, others vice versa. Weird.

Just after updating Draw with Friends, my iPhone got the "Panic, just haning here" message. I tried to reset it and it got stuck on the screen with the usb connect to iTunes. When I connected to iTunes on my Mac, it kept giving an error message that the phone connected could not be restored because it was in recovery mode, recover then connect. The phone wouldn't recover... I finally got it to connect to iTunes by holding down the home and power buttons, connecting to computer and then let the power button off as soon as the apple appeared. It took all night to download the restore for the phone, then when I hit the restore iPhone button, it gets half way done and gives the message" The iPhone could not be restored. Hi I hooked my ipad up to the computer to sync it for the first time. I had a lot of apps waiting to be downloaded.
Now I can't use any of them as they all say Waiting to download.
What can I do to get this working?

These suggestions have worked for others in the last. Give them a try. But YMMV.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

I have only ever synced my iPhone with iTunes once! This was when I first brought my iPhone in Oct 2010. My phone hasn't been connected to a computer since. I have the 4.0.2 version on my phone and would like to update to a more recent OS version. However I have read many horror stories about people losing their data when syncing with iTunes and am reluctant to do this as I have around 27 apps and over 2000 photos. None of this is backed up! What are the chances of me losing all my data when connecting to an iTunes? Please advise .. And yes I know how silly it has been of me to not update or back up since then but just need some sort of reassurance!

When you connect your iPhone to a computer, it will want to back up the phones content to the computer. Follow the steps here if you need help. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Essentially, what you're going to want to do is connect the iPhone to the computer. When it appears in iTunes, right click on the iPhone and select 'Backup'. This saves everything 'as-is' on the phone, to your computers hard drive. When you update your software, the phone is erased, the software installed fresh, and then the backup is restored onto the phone.
It sounds like you should transfer all your photos to your computer anyway, so do this before you update your software. This can be done using iPhoto if you have a Mac, or you can simply copy and paste the images if you are on a Windows PC.
Once your iPhone is updated, you can rest assured that your apps, contacts and photos are all saved.
Just as a note, all your apps are downloadable through the App store, even if you've deleted them off the phone or computer.

On opening the app "Find my iPhone" I add my password and sign in, to be greeted with a screen that says;
"Update Find My iPhone. A new version of Find My iPhone is available from the App. Store. You must install the update to continue using the app. Update now"
On hitting the "Update now" button I'm taken to the relevant page on the App Store, to be told that I cannot update as it needs IOS8 to be able to continue and as my iPhone is only a 4 cannot install IOS8.
I'm left going around in circles. The only thing would be to delete the app, but looks like I could not re-install the version I would need. Any body have any thoughts or suggestions? (Apart from updating my phone, I have a few months left on the contract!)

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
Anything else I could try, or am I doomed!

How did you rebuild?
Try these in order - from best option on down...
1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
2. Download <a href="http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/"><b><u>iPhoto Library Manager</b></u></a> and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 6* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Rolls and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Roll Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
