Ok, if I owe iTunes due to downloads

Where can I find out the balances?

ON whatever charge card debit card you linked it to when you first set up an iTunes account. Mine show up on my credit card the same day. I use online banking to see what's happening with my checking and credit card almost every day.

Please don't post case numbers or other personal information here. None of us here (who will respond, anyway) work for Apple; we're all just fellow users.
Anyway, as regards the security code issue, this may help:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646
and as regards the balance, first make sure you didn't make any in-app purchases. Many "free" apps, particularly games, have additional levels or features that cost money. Check your purchase history in your iTunes Store account and see what you're being charged for.

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

I pulled my brains out trying to figure this bug out and I may have a solution for you.
All of it installed fine in my desktop, but a friend's laptop got the error you mentioned on quicktime, itunes, flash, officeXP and about anything else I tried to load for him.
If you look in: C:\documents and settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp there will be an iTunes install log...open it in Notepad and see if it isn't exiting with a 1619 error while running msiexec.exe
If this is the case, this fix should work for you.
Seems some configurations of XP (and possibly Vista) aren't allowing full administrator rights to the account you set up when you installed XP (even though User Editor says you do have those rights.)
I read 2 MS articles and turned off simple file sharing, then gave ownership of the entire C: drive to the administrator. Logged the admin account off, logged his "admin" account in, and then gave rights to his personal directory to his account (c:\docs and settings\<username>)
Once I did that, every install that had previously errored out performed flawlessly.
    The MS articles in question:
    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=316309 (1619 error)
    and
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=308419 (how to set special permissions)
    Hope this helps!

  • I have removed all music/movies/etc. from iTunes due to duplicates. I have connected iTunes to a NEW library only to have the same problem, duplicates (2 or 3 of every song). I need a solution.

I have removed all music/movies/etc. from iTunes due to duplicates. I have connected iTunes to a NEW library (38.33 GB) only to have the same problem, duplicates (2 or 3 of every song or 63.80 GB). I did not have this problem until syncing my library with the new Macbook Pro. I need a solution (a solution IS NOT sifting through my iTunes song by song and deleting the duplicates).

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
    - Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.
    - Then try on another computer

  • I owe iTunes money and I'm confused

    Hello.
I'm 14 and I have a debit card. A while ago, I realised I could connect my card to my iTunes account and so since then I've been using the money from there to buy music and stuff. However, I knew I didn't have much money on there and as I wasn't sure if the store would warn my when I had less than, say, £5 (I'm curious as to why it doesn't warn people) and so I thought I might accidentally overspend. My fears were confirmed when I checked my purchases.
    I now owe iTunes £5.34
Since it's my birthday on Saturday I'll be receiving money and gift cards, so obviously I'll be able to pay off the balance. I just have a few questions before I pay and in case this happens again-
    1. This means that I don't have the money in my bank account, right? So do I actually owe the BANK money?
    2. Can I pay the money using a gift card, or will I actually have to pay by putting money into my bank account and using a card?
    3. Do I have to pay using the same card, or can I use a different one?
    4. What happens if I don't pay this money?
    Thanks for reading this ^-^

1, if you don't have the money to cover the purchase then you iTunes money, not your bank. Unlike when using a gift card balance to purchase (when the money is deducted immediately), with a debit (or credit card) it sometimes takes a while for it to be collected (or not) from the card
2, yes, you should be able to redeem a gift card onto your account and what you owe should be collected from that.
3, no, any valid payment method can be used.
4, you won't be able to download anything else from the store (including redownloading items and downloading updates to apps) until what is owed is paid off

  • ITunes wil not download iTunes Store purchases to my network drive

I have iTunes 8.2.1.6 loaded. I can't remember when the last upgrade came through and not sure when the downloads to my network drive stopped working, but they used to work.
I first set-up iTunes on my Win XP laptop in January 2008. I already had my network set-up at home and had been storing my music and media on a network drive for long before that. Initially everything was fine, iTunes connected and created the library. It also allowed me to download from the store directly to my mapped network drive.
The library still works and still picks up all the music and media from my network drive. The problem is, whenever I try to purchase from iTunes Store, the download fails and says the disk is full (it's not - there's 70GB left on it). If I set my iTunes Music Folder location to be local C: drive, it downloads with no issue. Problem is I only have between 2 and 5GB left on my C: drive and it's only a 30GB drive to begin with, so way too small for my library.
Recently (July) I purchased a TV Episode from iTunes Store. It tried to download 6 separate instances, every one failed. When I switched my iTunes Music Folder location to C:, it finally downloaded. I switched my folder location back to the network on completion and manually moved the TV episode to the network (it was a HD+SD download, so multiple copies, and the meta data / library entry now seems to be screwed!).
Today I have tried to download an album and I get the same error about the network disk being full! This is too much hassle and not endearing me in anyway to Apple!
If anyone has any ideas as to how I might resolve this, I'd be very grateful.
    Cheers

I am having a similar problem for 3 weeks now, and wasted hours messing with our Firewall software, etc. thinking that was the problem. Thanks to your post I tried changing the Itunes Music Folder location temporarily to our C: drive, and voila-- suddenly downloads can be completed. We choose to keep our Itunes library folder on a separate networked hard drive, and ever since we updated to Itunes 8.2.1.6 we've been unable to download purchased music to this drive. We had no problems for the last 2 years with previous versions of Itunes & our preference configurations for the library. The error message I got when I tried to download purchased content (both music & video) was "error (-48) unknown error. unable to complete download... check network connection and try again". Of course our PC WAS connected to the internet, and I could access the Store and download from other websites, just not Itunes.
Could this be related?? : Looking in my Itunes folder in the networked drive, I tried to delete the Downloads folder (after reading a suggestion in a forum to delete purchased music files if they were partially downloaded, and then try to download them again). I have been unable to delete or rename this folder, getting this error message: "Cannot delete Downloads. The file or directory is corrupted & unreadable".
A separate, Itunes bug related to Music Folder location-- we also had a major problem trying to get the location of all our music properly identified in Itunes library with this latest software version. We had to wipe our C: hard-drive due to a virus, and when we downloaded the updated Itunes software & set the preferences to point to the library on our networked drive, it isn't properly identifying thousands of the files (we have ~10,000 songs. The "Consolidate files" feature is very buggy, and only worked for maybe 1/5 of the files before stopping. We don't want to keep trying to run it, because we are afraid we'll end up with even more duplicate "ghost" files than we have now ("Unable to locate file" under "Get info" the "where" field is blank. We've had to manually load folders from the networked hard drive one by one, using the
"Add Folder to Library" feature. This is taking forever, as this needs to be done for 100's of artist folders, then we have to delete the duplicate music files that still appear in the library!!

I had the same problem. It appears that the servers chuck a hissy fit if you don't download your purchases in a timely fashion. I used the 'report a problem' feature in my iTunes account to contact customer support via email. They replied about 24 hours later, reset my download cue and the problem has now been resolved.
Hope this helps you solve your issue.

  • ITunes will not download completely

I recieved an iPod Touch for Christmas. In order to download songs obviously I must have iTunes on my computer, however, whenever I go to download the iTunes program the download will not complete. I have tried several different prompts each resulting with an incomplete download. I have a 64bit Windows Vista operating system. This is very frustrating when you buy a $200 product and cannot use it due to software issues. Someone please help.

The radio remote is a accessory that lets the ipod "Pick up" local radio stations and acts like a wired remote control for the ipod. Here is a link about it with a picture on the apple store (and yes I got it for a cheaper price at wal mart) http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=180 7F4C3&nplm=MA070G%2FB
For my car, I use to use a FM trasmitter and it was OK, but like most reviews will tell you, its better to hook the ipod to your radio via a cable or wired dock. I now have installed a new radio in my car that also had a ipod dock

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

Delete the broken links in iTunes then look at your purchased list to redownload.
If this happened because you were deleting files from the iTunes folder in Finder, don't.  You have to let iTunes do all the deleting and moving or you will end up with broken links.

  • My iPhone 3Gs is now no longer a recognised device on iTunes after I downloaded the new iTunes with iCloud software, but it does recognise my iPad2??

My iPhone 3Gs is now no longer a recognised device on iTunes after I downloaded the new iTunes with iCloud software, but it does recognise my iPad2??
I run both Mac and a PC and have iTunes on both, which has previously recognised my iPhone. I had updated my Mac with the new iTunes software with iCloud and updated my iPad2 just yesterday. I then wanted to do the same with my iPhone today, but my Mac wouldn't recognise the device so I tried it on my PC, which recognised the phone but told me I needed to update my iTunes and this in turn wanted to update my iPhone software. After completing all this and restarting, my iPhone now shows the iTunes icon with the USB plug pointing towards it, obviously wanting me to plug it in to my computer to re-connect with iTunes, but now neither of my computers recognise my iPhone and my PC states an 'Unknown Device'. My Mac doesn't even see it. Can anyone help as I really need to get my phone working?? Thanks

Hold down the Home and Power button for 20 seconds. And try to update again.
