I have just got my E61 (Code 0530151, FW 1.0610.04.04) from ebay India and last 2 days I have been reading all over the internet about the problems people have faced in upgrading using NSU. I beg someone from Nokia to help me (and I am sure many others) out here-
1) I understand the keyboard remapping issue, so now what's the official word on how to determine if your phone has been reflashed for your region before u bought it? I bought mine from ebay (like countless others) and I am not sure if I should be "legally" getting English/Nederlands as my languages as the phone shows now with Ver 1.0 firmware.
2) If there are no language issues (which is what I hope in my case), then is there some "must remember" points before I embark on update from v1 to v3 directly? Something like a "checklist" to ensure that I don't end up with a brick (I already know about need to backup and need to keep the charger connected)

Am I not allowed a break over the holidays?
0530151 is E61 Euro-A2, from what you state about the current languages, these seem to be the legitimate languages for the product code you quoted.
As long as you take the proper precautions I can't see / haven't heard of any reason why going from 1.x to 3.x would not work.

As already provided, if you don't have such in your iTunes library, on your computer, then there is no way to put it back on your phone. Apps are DRM protected, so even if you found a copy somewhere, you wouldn't be able to use it.

[p7-1240] How can I tell which graphics cards will work with my motherboard?

I recently went through the nightmare of trying to install a Gigabyte GTX 650 in my PC. After a few days of struggling and scouring the internet for answers, I discovered that it is incompatible with the BIOS on my motherboard, and HP does not offer BIOS updates. I returned the card and am now looking for a new one, but I am unsure of which cards will work now, since my computer met all of the system requirements for the graphics card, and It stil ldid not work. Since GPU manufacturers do not list BIOS specs under system requirements, how can I tell if a graphics card will work with my sytem?
My computer is a p7-1240 with an upgraded 520W PSU and approximeately 11" of room to install the card.

Thexn, welcome to the forum.
The problem is, many of the newer video cards require the computer to have a full UEFI BIOS. HP began using one in mid-October, 2012. Before this date the BIOS is Legacy. This is why the video card didn't work with your computer.
I don't know what you want to spend for a card, but MSI makes a GTX 750ti that has a hybrid VBIOS. It has a switch to change to Legacy or UEFI. There is a video link directly below the picture of a card. Paul from Newegg gives a full description of the card.
I like EVGA cards the best. Their Tech Support has given me a lot of information about their cards. However, you have to go back to a GT 640 card to find one of their cards that doesn't require the UEFI BIOS. They do have some updates for their BIOS'es that solve the problem, but you have to call them for the exact cards.

How do I know if my apps will work under Yosemite?

Hey guys, I'm running Yosemite right now on a mid-2011 Mac Mini that was originally running Lion. I then installed Mavericks on top of Lion(I didn't try Mountain Lion) and then I installed Yosemite on top of Mavericks. I'm planning on erasing the 500GB HDD and installing a fresh copy of Yosemite and then restore my apps and system preferences via an external Time Machine USB HDD I've been using for 2 years.
I'm having a spinning beachball issue that renders my Mac Mini unusable for a few minutes at a time and this is why I want to do a clean install of OSX.
So far my apps have been running great under Yosemite, BUT I'm worried that my apps are running great ONLY because I was running Lion and Mavericks before so the apps I'm running now are only working because the apps were installed onto the Lion and Mavericks 'layers'??? I haven't needed to re-install any apps since installing Yosemite.
How can I check that my apps will run under Yosemite?

You're welcome.
But, no, don't look to Epson for fixes to their driver in newer versions, and Adobe has deprecated the TWAIN plug-in. Hoping for a solution there is futile. That has not happened and it's never going to happen. The consensus is that it's pretty foolish to tie up Photoshop to scan. Honestly.
Any improvement in the behavior of newer versions of the Epson drivers in that regard would be pure coincidence.
You need to understand that you never, ever scan "within" Photoshop, as Photoshop has no scanning capabilities whatsoever. When you use the Import > Twain plug-in all you are doing is blocking Photoshop while you call up the stand-alone Epson scanning software. If you think about it, its most inefficient.
VueScan has a pretty powerful scanning plug-in that can be called from the Impost menu—if you insist. VueScan is not free, but it's a pretty good value, IMO.
As for the Epson CD printing software, I have no clue. Sorry.

How to fix custom access so permissions will work

How to disable “custom” access setting on my hard drive which causes permissions problem?
This is on a 2007 MBP with most recent OSX, etc.
Here’s what I have tried based on posts I read on this forum:
(1) I logged into admin account and typed into Terminal the following:
sudo fsaclctl -p /Volumes/drivename -d
sudo chmod -R +rwX /Volumes/drivename
No go. Terminal does not recognize command fsaclctl
(2) I also tried into terminal
 sudo chflags nouch /Volumes/”drive-name”
chmod 755 /Volumes/”drive-name”
(3) I restarted with recovery disk and did repair permissions. No go.
I saw a suggestion to erase the hard disk and reinstall OSX. I will do so (but would rather not) if it will solve the problem. Any advice is welcome.

Try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
If that didn't helped:
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.

How can I make a button that will work on iPads? (animate only on Mousedown)

I am making an interactive page in Adobe Edge Animate. It will double as a low-mem website and also as an iPad page and is part of a larger flash website which is highly animated.
This website sports two kinds of buttons; the ones linking to a label in the timeline and the ones linking to a URL.
The problem is that I do not want the buttons to work on mouseover because that will be completely useless on iPads and similar devices. That is why I want the thing to animate on mousedown.
What I did initially was to load the on and off states of the button to my timeline and made them into a symbol, after that I made two labels inside of that symbol; one for the on state and one for the off state. Below the first label there is a "sym.stop("ONstate");" action and then my off-state button graphic has a mousedown "sym.stop("skipON");" action. Then comes the tricky part, I wanted to reference the label on which it should land in a onclick action on a root level. It didn't work at all. I used "_root.stop("label");". As you can see my programming abilities are extremely poor, I'm a graphics guy.
Next, I decided to leave the mousedown action inside the symbol and do the onclick action on the main timeline, which did work for the most part, however it behaved weirdly. First off, the mousedown action worked perfectly, but not at the same time with the onclick action; You would click on the mousedown thing and it would stop on the frame and then you would need to click it a second time to go to the label.
There must be either something I'm doing wrong or this function is not supported by the Edge Animate beta. But my programming abilities are so poor to pinpoint the real cause of the problem.

Part of the problem is that you're using ActionScript syntax in a JavaScript environment. Instead of using _root, you can access the Stage object. If your symbol is only one level down, you can use sym.getParentSymbol().stop("label");. If you have a nested symbol, you may find sym.getComposition().getStage().stop("label"); more effective.
That being said, you might want to rethink your UI model and focus your iPad interactions on the touch events, which are much more performant than the mouse events.

Delete it. Kazaa doesn't run on a Mac. Plus, you are liable to get people telling to you "stop stealing music".
I don't want you to steal music and get in trouble either. But I do want you to avoid paying outrageous prices. Use iTunes to find the music you want. You can even hear samples. Usually you can buy an entire album for less than $10. If that is too much, you can often buy used CDs on Amazon for cheaper. Your local used CD store will be cheaper still.

I was trying to solve an issue with my iTunes on my iMac (v10.4.11) not recognizing my iPhone 3g. Same everything I have had for years with no problems. Now I wanted to sync my iPhone so as to upgrade the IOS and my itunes doesn't recognize it. How can you configure a WD external to work with Time Machine??

I have an 1TB external WD MyBook drive that is connected to my network through my Linksys wireless router and am trying to figure out how to format the drive to use with Time Machine.
I currently use the drive to store files from both my PC and my MacBook but can't seem to select the drive to use with Time Machine. I figured that I could just format the drive through the Disk Utility program, but the drive doesn't show up in Disk Utility. This may be because it is a drive connected through my router and not directly to my MacBook?!
Here are a few questions...
Any ideas on how to format the drive so it will work with Time Machine?
Once formatted to use with TM, can I still use the drive to store other files from both my Mac and PC? or do I need to partition for this??
Is it possible to set up an automatic backup schedule that will happen via my home wireless connection?

You cannot use the drive with TM as you have it set up. TM will not work with a networked drive except a Time Capsule or a USB drive connected to an Airport Extreme Base Station (current version.)
If you wish to use this drive for TM backups it must be connected directly to the computer. Other computers on the network can access the drive for TM backups if you turn on file sharing for the drive (select drive, press COMMAND-I, check the box labeled "Shared Folder," click on the Enable button.) The shared drive will have to be mounted on the other computers in order for them to use it as a TM backup drive.
