Ok so I recently dropped my ipod touch 4 in the water.

It fried and I took it to geek squad. They can't even get it to turn on. Should I throw it away?
Another thing is I got it for Christmas so Idk If I had insurance on it.
Also my other question is. I spent $50.00 In iTunes. Is that all gone to?
Is there anyway I could get a $50.00 iTunes card from apple to fix it for free?
I have bought $50.00 worth oof apps so they can check I am not lying.
Reason Why I was asking is because I could really use the iTunes because
I am getting the iPhone 4S 32GB Phone. I won't have anything on it or
any money to get any after I buy the iPhone.

Anything you bought from iTunes you might be able to download again. Any existing credit on that card is part of your account with the iTunes Store which is not tied to your device.

Apple does not repair iPods, but will replace the entire iPod for a flat fee; see the Repair Pricing section here:

There are independent iPod repair services that may be able to replace the screen for less. Do a web search for "ipod repair". Some places also will sell parts and instructions for doing the repair yourself, but the connectors and parts are delicate and it's easy to cause further damage, so attempt this only if you are confident in your skills.

They can fix it at the Apple Store. I wish you could get it fixed for free, but the warranty doesn't cover accidents like this . It sounds like you understand this, I just want to make sure you know.

I do not understand what iTunes on your computer has to do with the iBooks app in your iPod.
You can only read iBooks on an Apple computer with the newers, Mavericks, operating system.

You can try taking it back to best buy and see what they'll do. The apple store policy is that accidental damage isn't covered by the warranty, and dropping it counts as accidental damage.

I was recently given an ipod touch and the only screen it will show is a usb cable and itunes symbol. I've tried the troubleshooting stuff on this website but it still won't work. Any ideas as to how i can fix this?

My Ipod touch only shows a usb wire and itunes symbol when i turn it on. it does not show up on my itunes or in my computer. ive tried the troubleshooting stuff(reseting the ipod, reinstalling the newest itunes, restarting the computer) and nothing has changed. my ipod shuffle connects to my itunes just fine though.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.
