Ok so we bought an ipodtouch for my daughter and when she connected to the computer all of a sudden she lost all her pics and she can no longer connect to the app store on her ipod.. any suggestions why and what can be done?

ok so we bought an ipod touch for my daughter and when she connected it to the computer after she downloaded itunes, she was asked if it was her ipod or a new one, so she clicked on her ipod and lost all her recent pics plus is unable to locate the app store on her safari on her ipod touch. any suggestions as to what went wrong or what should be done ? should we restore or what?
much appreciated if there is anyone else who had this happen to them.

- The iPod got erased since it sounds iTunes identified that the iPod has been synced with another computer and she said yes to making this computer her syncing computer. It could also she restored the iPod from the backup of another iPod, iPhone or iPad that was in iTunes. If in iTunes you go to Preferences>Devices is there a backup listed for her iPod with a date/time when she first connected the iPod to the computer. If so then restore the iPod from that backup.

- Regarding the App store. The App store is not in Safari. It is a separate app. Also, could the Apple store be hidden by Restrictions? Settings>General>Restrictions. Further, can you find the App store via the Spotlight search on the iPod?

All of your music should be in itunes on your computer.

No app store present on iPod Touch 4th gen and can't sync apps in iTunes, tried restoring/updating

I've tried everything I know to fix this problem with no luck so far, I'm hoping someone can help. Note that iTunes has been updated to the latest version (and my friend's computer is running Windows 7, if that helps at all).
My friend has an iPod Touch 4th generation. A while back he asked me to help him get apps onto the iPod, and I discovered that the App Store on the iPod itself was nowhere to be found, nor can he remember ever having one. In addition to this, he can't sync apps onto the iPod from within iTunes - the option to sync in the apps tab is greyed out. The music/movies/etc. sync just fine, however. At the time, his iPod had iOS 4.1.
After checking for parental restrictions in his iTunes and the iPod, I found that his iPod has a restrictions password set, which he doesn't know. His parents have no memory of setting restrictions and don't know the password, either.
I read online that the only way to remove the restrictions password is to restore the iPod, and since this seemed to be a good idea anyway due to the odd issue with iTunes refusing to sync apps, we restored the iPod and updated to iOS 5.1 today. Unfortunately, the App Store is still nowhere to be found, and we still can't sync apps in iTunes. The iPod still claims a restrictions password has been set as well.
I have checked and double-checked that no restrictions are set in iTunes preferences. My friend created a new iTunes account, so that shouldn't be the problem. While we're hoping to get both iTunes sync and the iPod App Store app working properly, right now he just wants to be able to get apps onto his iPod.
Does anyone have any ideas why his iPod didn't come with an App Store app, why it still doesn't have the Store after restoring, why iTunes won't sync apps, or why the restrictions password is still set after the restore? I've honestly run out of ideas as to how to fix this.
Before I posted this, I did a little more looking online about the restrictions password, which is apparently restored along with a backup. Neither of us were present during the restore (we had to leave for a couple of hours after the restore had been started), so I'm only asking this because I don't have his iPod or computer with me at the moment to test it myself - is there a way to manually cancel restoring from a backup during the process? If so, I need to restore the iPod a second time.
In the meantime, any ideas about my other three questions?

thanks for your suggestion. that is the same advice that i got from the geek squad at the local apple store.
i did what he instructed but it did not work. i have since called apple support twice regarding the problem. they had me start the computer in safe mode, going into the library and deleting a phlist file (i think) do a repair disk permissions, do a repair disk, empty the cache, and finally the last guy told me to unplug the computer from the wall socket and restart.
when i mentioned the advice you and the apple store guy gave me they sort of poo pooed it saying that was done when they did all this other stuff.
i am now waiting for the download to be completed to see if unplugging the computer had any effect.

Games category in app store is missing. Any suggestions?

I have the IPAD 2 and from the very first setup the Games category in app store is missing. Even if I try to execute a game from the web (safari) it automatically opens app store and gives me a message that it cannot be downloaded.
Apple support team r nice people but completely useless!! They couldn't support nor help troubleshoot my prOblem.
Any suggestions or thoughts on this weird one?

Other iPads in the country do not have this problem. In all cases I can change my location to either USA or Lebanon.
Is the location of the apple Id or is it hardware manufactured for a specific region?

Just installed a recommended upgrade of Mac OS X 10.6.8 on my iMac i5, now when I launch safari or app store it crashes. I was looking to upgrade to Lion this week but cannot open the app store. facetab, safari and app store all crash so far, every time I open them unfortunatley as I have no time machine back up I don't know what to do!!!

I have the same issue on my macbook - but only with the app store. although, I haven't tried safari since I use FF. Any resolutions out there?? 10.6.8 - cant run the 10.6.6 update combot that seems to fix the issue with other folks.

I have downloaded an app called My Data Manager but i can no longer find it in App Store to share with friends

My Data Manager by Mobidia appeared in the App Store and I downloaded it for testing. I updated to IOS 7.1.2
I was impressed with the app so I sent the link to other iPhone users for them to try whilst we tried out our iPhone Pilot.
When they searched for the App they could not find it, I tried to Share the App from the on screen menu via AirDrop but all it sent was a photo.
The App is on the web page of Mobidia but the link takes you to iTunes?
This is not the only App that I seem to have the problem with, another is Data Diary although I found it on the web the link does not take you to the App Download

Sharing an app does not give a copy of the app to anybody else, you will only be sharing an image of the app.
It's possible that the developers of those apps have temporarily (e.g. if there is a problem with them or they are putting an updated version in the store) or permanently removed them from the store. Any links that the developer's have on their website should take you to the store, that is the only place that you can download apps for iOS devices.
You could try contacting the developers and see if they are planning on putting their apps back in the store, until if/when they do then your friends won't be able to download them (and you won't be able to redownload them, so if you haven't already done so you may want to copy the app to your computer's iTunes library).

I will get right to the point. I was having numerous crashes and problems the moment I upgraded to itunes 7. So I had no choice but to downgrade back to itunes 6. Well ever since I have done that, my ipod seems to be working better (no crashing, no more warped music) but now none of my videos in my itunes go to my ipod. After numerous updating when I plug my ipod in, the videos refuse to go to my ipod. All of the videos are checked (sync) but nothing works. Any suggestions? Thanks again.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

Updated to IOS7, can no longer zoom in on videos I have taped. Any suggestions?

After updating my iPad (3rd gen) to IOS7, I can no longer zoom in on the videos I have taped using my iPad. I used to be able to just pinch out on the video, and then play it. Has anyone else had the same problem? This presents a fairly large problem to me.

The loss of the zoom on video is killing me as a coach! Need this feature. Is this an over sight? Please tell me it is. Why take away a feature that is so great...
