OK, something must be wrong in my DNS, Please help...
So, i have 10.7.2 Server running Mail. I must have something wrong on the DNS because on the server; if i go to Safari and go to http://server.domain.com/webmail it opens and i can send/recieve messages from other domains..
But,
Outside that network if i open Safari and go to http://server.domain.com/webmail it fails. IF i go to http://domain.com/webmail it get to the login page, but when i put in creds, it faisl with IMAP not Loaded...
I am unable to add the account to my Mail app when external to the network. It fails to work.
I figure it's just a simple DNS record i need to add..
The server's name is mini the domain is socialgraphics.com
I think the problem is that the MX record is pointing to mail.socialgraphics.com which is not really the server name, even though it works.
and the A record is pointing to mail.socialgraphics.com which is not it's name.
I jsut change the A record name, and the MX record name, correct?
Hey Robman. Your DNS Entries are all correct... Externally.
I'm able to connect to your server via mail.socalgraphics.com/webmail and socialgraphics.com/webmail without issue.
Check them on your mail server...
Download the Server Admin Tools for 10.7
In server admin, connect to your server and click the DNS services tab.
Check to make sure that you have the correct MX Records and the correct Machine records.
They should be identical to the records that you have set up with your name server provider. That way wherever you are (inside or outside your network) the addresses you type will work the same.
There's really very few ways to set up DNS correctly, so it's easy to have mistakes. Triple check your settings to be sure.
If you're getting an IMAP error, then the mail server is likely in need of tuning up. You can double check the mail service using the Server Admin tools as well.

I have .me and .mac email accounts on my iPhone 4. I thought I had successfully transitioned from MobileMe to iCloud, but something must be wrong. iCloud seems to work fine on my computer and, with the exception of two email accounts, seems to be fine on my phone. Can/should I delete the accounts on my phone and start over? It is somewhat of a nuisance to have two email accounts and double the amount of emails. The only thing different about the two iCloud accounts is the email addresses. Thanks.
Well, seems I managed to unscrew this...I deleted my iCloud mail account and reinstalled it on my phone. That got rid of the duplicate .me/.mac email accounts.

Hi I tried to contact with Sydney Apple store but impossible so far. Actually I found my Visa card been conducted 4 transactions in 7th may. I am in Auckland that time. It must be wrong deduction. Can anyone help me solve this problem.

As for the activity: please call your credit card company immediately to report and question the activity. They can get in touch with the vendor (Apple). Calling the police will not be very helpful. -

The friend who sold it to you needed to clear his Apple ID off the phone before he sold it to you. Of course if it wasn't his phone in the first place then he could not do so. He is your friend but you don't know where he is?
There is nothing that will help you short of getting the password for the Apple ID from your friend. If you cannot obtain that there is no workaround. -
There's something wrong with my mac.Please help me
Two days ago I was using my MacBook doing my own things, when suddenly I wasn't able to use my trackpad or keyboard. Nothing worked except the power button, which I held down till my Mac shut itself down.
Then I powered it on again and it booted up normally, but again. I wasn't able to use my keyboard to log in.
Some hours later I got it somehow to boot into safe boot and the booting didn't finish. As I read that safe booting takes a lot of time, so I went to sleep and about twelve hours later it was still booting. (Apple logo & spinning gray wheel on the screen). So I shut my mac down and some hours later I turned it on and it booted up into safe boot. The keyboard + trackpad were working then. So,then I went to disk utility and it told me to repair disk (to insert the DVD and repair the disk through disk utility), but the problem is that I am not at home and I dont have disks with me. So I tried to boot into single user mode, but it didnt let me. Still booted into the safe boot.
Now the story repeats itself. Keyboard and trackpad arent responding. When once I booted into the safe boot(cmd+shift+v) it said something like socket is not connected.
So I restarted my mac and nothing isnt working.
Please help me! What can I do to save my computer and files?

My music on iTunes has gone completely wrong. Could anyone please help me?
Hello everyone. I'll try and keep this as unconvoluted as possible so here goes...
I have iTunes 10.4.1.10, although the problem started with the previous update. I was trying to sync music from a Top rated playlist to a new iPhone (a 3GS with up-to-date-software) when I noticed that some of the albums which I had previously has on had disappeared. All of my albums are saved onto an external hard drive, but the album icons were not on the music library. I put the albums back on (and a few new ones) and a message came up saying that the albums/songs were already there and would I like to replace them; I clicked the 'yes' button. I went about giving the songs I wanted in my Top Rated with no problems and went to sync them as normal. This is where it goes wrong.
iTunes goes through the syncing motions (Steps 1 and 2), reaches Step 3 where it syncs the songs, syncs about 40 of the songs (there are 770 in total) before reaching one of the songs which I had found missing and had put on again. iTunes crashes ( I think that describes it: the 'syncing bar' at the top stays frozen on the song, it will not shut down but everntually stops trying to syns and I can shut it down again; and when I look at the iPod on my iPhone it says cancelling sync and then that it is updating the library before going back to normal).
This was done on the first attempts, now when I try it syncs one songs before the problem song before going wrong. A thing to note about the song before is that the song that ends up on my ipod isn't the one it said that it was syncing, and the songs do not appear to be added in any sort of order.
After this I get a message that the song that caused this cannot be found: 'Attempting to copy to the disk "Charlie's iPhone" failed. An unknown error occurred (-69).' Sometimes this is followed by a similar message which says that the song in question cannot be found.
When I put my hard drive into the computer it says that there may be a problem with some of the files on the hard drive and would I like to scan and fix them, but it does not specify whether those files are music files (there are photo files, Word files, all sorts on it). I haven't given it permission to do so yet, this has not caused problems with previous i-Pods -Phones or Tunes and I don't exactly see how this would affect it now anyway seeing as the files have been re-done (burned off of iTunes and stored on the hard drive directly), but this may help work out the problem.
A few last things. There is are albums which I definately have NOT put onto iTunes or my hard drive which has appeared on my iTunes music selection and I highly doubt are in the house (Bob Acri's self-titled album containing just song 3 and Fine Music, Vol. 1 by Richard Stoltzman containing the second song), they may have been added onto the computer by another family member and just innocently found their way on iTunes and my hard drive, but they're not the sort of thing anyone in my family would listen to, so maybe that might help someone diagnose the problem too.
Also, the same thing is happening with my laptop, which has the previous update to the one I mentioned above. This would suggets that its either the new updates fault or the hard drive's fault, I would suspect it would be the former as the laptop too did not have any issues like this, or indeed at all, before the two updates.
Anyway, thank you for taking the time for reading through, and if anyone could offer any hints or tip or advice to get iTunes back to speed I would be very grateful.

I have downloaded the latest version of itunes but when i plug in my ipod it doesnt list any devices in itunes to enable me to choose my ipod to sync it. Its like there is a link missing or something blocking my computer talking to itunes. My computer itself recongnises the ipod but itunes doesn't. Please help!
Yes reinstalled itunes a couple of days ago but got it sorted now thanks, the problem was that when i wiped my computer last week and reinstalled everything using the discs the free McAfee anti virus that the computer came with was still in my all programmes list although i aren't using it. This morning i tried unistalling that (didn't think it would make any difference as the programme wasn't active) once uninstalled i pluged the ipod in and hey presto it is now recognised by itunes, THANK GOODNESS. So panick over for now, thank you very much.

Okay all good we got into the layers - there was an non editable group/path/second layer. Clicked the circle next to that layer to select all, I was now able to click and edit my artwork but the colours were still stucj in a transparency and were at 100% tint & opacity - fixed that by copying and pasting in document. User Library folder has 112 GB...something must be wrong!
Hello, I have a Macbook Pro with a 250 GB hard drive. It has been running slow so I checked available memory--less than 4 GB. I have 40 GB music, 40 GB photos, and 4 GB movies. Nothing else seems to be taking up much room..then I found that the Users/Library folder was the culprit--112 GB. However, I ordered the folder in the Library by size, and the folder taking up the most memory had less than 7 GB, and most others have less than 1 GB. This is so weird...can't find where the 112 GB is? Has anyone else had this problem?

I was on my laptop Friday evening listening to my iTunes. A window popped up saying there's an update for iTunes. I start downloading the update. After it finished downloading, I closed iTunes out then went to open it back up. That's when I got an error message saying that something wasn't installed properly and that I need to reinstall it. What would cause this and how can I fix this problem??
If this is an iCloud account the Outbox only appears when sending an email, so if it is still trying I suppose it should be showing now (not sure though, hard to replicate this)
