Ok, ultra lazy but hear me out....

I have a Pioneer navigation system that has an iPod input in the back. I bought the adapter cable and it works great with my iPhone (just gives that not made for iPhone message but still works fine). I wanted to use the docking station for the phone in the truck (mounted on the dash or something) so all I have to do is get in the truck and drop it in the dock and it's safe and secure for the whole time I'm in the truck, and then all I have to do is pull it out when I get out.
The problem is the dock doesn't work with the cable, and I assume it's because the Pioneer head unit doesn't send a USB signal, which is what the dock was designed for. Does anyone know of a dock that supports any signal, or of a way to get around this problem?
Yes it's lazy, but I'd like to have the phone right up there on the dash so I can see incoming calls and all that. Here's to convenience!

I might not understand exactly what you are asking......
The dock you have does not work, correct?
But if you plug it in directly to the iPhone it does work?

Dropped iPhone 4 in to the toilet (but hear me out)

I dropped my phone into the toilet. I got it out as quickly as possible, but it did get submerged. When I got it out, the screen turned on by itself, but I didn't think much of it, and I stuck it in rice for a few hours. When I went to check on it, it seemed fine, as the screen turned on and all the buttons seemed to be working, other than being slightly laggy. The volume buttons worked, but the didn't seem to do anything to the volume. The speakers worked as well, and even the vibrating part did. the lagging didn't get any better though, so I decided to see if reseting it would work. It turned off fine, and the apple symbol came up, but that was where it stopped, and it now will not turn on. I checked the LCI in the headphone jack and the charging slot, and the one in the headphone jack has a tiny pinkish-red dot, and the one in the charging slot doesn't look red at all. I stuck it back into the rice just in case. Can anybody help with my situation?
Just some info, up until I put my phone into the rice the first time, I was mostly in full panic mode, and even after I put it in the rice, I kept checking to see if it worked by pressing the sleep button. I'm pretty sure I did everything I'm not supposed to do, but what can I say?

I used the bag of rice method this weekend and it worked. My iphone 5 had been in my pocket when I fell in our pool while cleaning the pool. So the phone was fully submerged for about 3-4 seconds. I could see water in the camera lens after this occured. It was definitely wet.
First I sucked the water out of the speaker holes with my mouth. Then I turned off the phone. Researched online and found the rice method. I put the phone in a ziplock bag with brown rice (it was all we had) about 45 minutes after the incident. A little while later I was able to find some silica gel packets in some vitamin bottles so I put those in the bag of rice with the phone (another technique found online).
The phone was in there from around 3:30 PM Saturday afternoon until 9:30 AM Monday morning. Took it out this morning and tried to turn it on but wouldn't - got the red low battery signal. After 10 minutes of charging it booted up on it's own. Works fine now. Hopefully it stays that way. By the way check your charger connector on the phone for rice. Luckily I looked before plugging it in. I tapped it on the desk and dislodged 3 pieces of rice that would have been smashed in there had I not checked first.

Strange Idea... but hear me out

Ok I'm going to post something to you that might seem very daft BUT there is method behind my madness.
I love the way apple products feel without a case, but the iPad is a little too easy to scratch on the back, so I have an idea. Car Wax.
I'm thinking Caranubra wax. Truly invisible, non abrasive, and builds up protection in layers, ok so it's not going to afford me as much protection as a case but, is this a viable idea? has anyone tried it? Considering wax is non abrasive, and designed to offer a limited amount of protection to car paintwork, and sets hard, build up in layers, I somehow can't see the issue in using it on any aluminium surface, including macbooks and even the metal band around the iPhone (hey it might assist with your antenna issues!)
So whats the thoughts?

Wax potentially migrating into the connectors and vents on the iPad or other device would not be a good thing. And car wax is designed for use on a painted surface, so how well it would work on the matte aluminum of the iPad's back is unknown. As Glor said, wax is it unlikely to provide any significant protection against anything that would be able to scratch the anodized aluminum of the iPad back case.
Sorry, but I don't think this a viable idea. I agree with the suggestion of a skin. That would do the same job without risking your iPad.

ITunes duplicates (I know youve already heard this before but hear me out)

Yes, my Itunes keep making duplicates, triplicates, etc of all my music. Heres the thing, I have gone over them MANY MANY times and there are NO duplicated files, no copies, nothing! This is REALLY making it hard to enjoy Itunes and my Ipod! These duo is amazing for music IF I COULD JUST GET THIS ONE PROBLEM FIXED!

Click File-> hold the option key, select "Display exact duplicates."
If that doesn't let you get to where you want, you'll have to use a third party program.

Have you gone into system prefs nad made sure that the headphone port is set to audio out. And not audio in.
Also make sure that you are selecting built in speakers for your audio output.
If that does not fix it try doing a Pram reset.
Shut your mac down.
Press the startup button.
Hold down the following keys. Command Option P and R. Wait till you hear the chime 2 times. Then let go. See if that fixes it.

The picture even starts out being sort of dim. And it goes through phases of working fine but then will randomly start blacking out again. Any ideas?

You don't - you check your warranty status and have apple replace it for you. make sure you restore the phone as new first (after making a backup, of course) to see if the speaker works then. this isolates the issue to either your hardware or your software. if it's still happening after a restore as new through itunes, it means it's hardware that's the problem and apple will fix it for you

Not even close to good enough, LCD screen will crack, water will go in through the jack/charger ports..
The phone i describe has no external ports just 4-5 little pins which can't let water in or out of the device, the docking station will connect via these 4 - 5 pins for data transfer and recharging...., IPX8 standard, all the electronics are epxoyed with a glue to stop real bad shocks from drops and bangs, along with a silicon case and all the other preventative meausres means this little phone is going to outlive you.
in combination with heart rate external bluetooth connection, really what more could you want... only the Sonim comes close in terms of perfection but if it managed to pack all of above, then it would be simply wow... I don't think there's enough people who work for nokia who actually go camping, backpacking, hiking, i'm pretty sure that if i told them one day

The person gets their phone back and carries on about his day, it drops out of your pocket, how many times you ran over it because you happened to leave it behind the back tire. oh no i ran over my phone, the tough casing and the epoxy keeping it nice and safe, except for superficial damage cosmetic, the screen and phone should be working still able to make that call or send out GPS info....
Sorry nothing comes close by any company (except Sonim) in terms of what they can do... maybe even a portable charger turn it to recharge like on LED dynamos. nah maybe not.

if its anything like my Sony, theres a button top left corner that upon each press i get an audible bleep and the AV inputs come up on screen, i then cycle down to whichever input i wish to select!
in case your remote is different, the button on my remote has a square with a slightly smaller square just overlapping the first square.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

If you run into the "another installation" message even after the reboot of the PC (which is an excellent idea by HTP ProXy), reregistering your Windows Installer Service is worth a try.
First, launch a command prompt as an administrator. In your Start search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
At the command prompt:
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Restart the PC and try another reinstalll.
