Developers/Employees of Adobe, Listen up, seriously.
YOU NEED TO INCORPORATE AN AUTOSAVE FEATURE INTO ILLUSTRATOR.
No more excuses. I'm not concerned with degrading the performance of the software. Other programs have figured this out, you guys are way behind. I understand that Illustrator doesn't work the same way as Indesign; it's not essentially a visual representation of a database and therefore really quick to save. I understand that incorporating an autosave function would mean that I have to pause for a minute or so every so often. I don't care. Let me tell you what really eats my time, when your software crashes and I have no way of recovering anything. I might only remember to save twice a day, in which case I'm royally f****d. I suggest that you emulate Rhinoceros. You can set the interval between autosaves, and it automatically saves the file to a folder, replacing the previous autosave file each time. You can even turn it off. Come on guys, it's a no-brainer, and it will let me enjoy my years anneurism and conniption fit free. I mean it's embarrassing freaking out at your computer that hard, especially if you're working in a public place.

I believe that it is because you can only one item in the list and once the item is selected, re-selecting it will not fire the event.
Try adding more items to the list and select different items.

Execution time for Call Library Function Node
I am experimenting with the Call Library Function Node block in LabVIEW and am curious if it should be running faster than what I'm seeing. For testing purposes, I have compiled and transfered to my RT target the .out file from the KB article http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/81D1172E3C28A5E4862575CC0076A230 (I'm using the vxworks 6.1 version). The function in the .out file just multiplies two inputs together, adds a constant, and returns the result. I have put this inside a 1 kHz timed loop with a commanded period of 1 ms and via the Ticks(ms) block and shift registers I calculate the amount of time per loop execution. This process is apparently taking 5 ms per cycle and to me that seems slow. Is that roughly the correct execution time for this kind of setup? I will attach my test .vi file.

LabVIEW 2009 SP1
NI-cRIO 9024 with NI-RIO 3.4.0

test DLL.vi 31 KBFirst off, the way you are doing timing isn't necessarily accurate because you don't know when the tick count VI is being called. For example, if it gets called on one iteration after your call library node executes, and the next iteration it gets called before the CLFN it executes, the subtraction doesn't include the call of the CLFN so you aren't seeing the true time it is taking for the dll to be called.
Where it says "error" on the top left hand corner of your loop. left click and choose previous iteration timing. Also, do you have the ability to choose a 1 Mhz clock? Are you sure it's actually being run on the RT and not on your PC? Running it on the PC would definitely make it difficult to execute at a 1 kHz rate.

ADOBE-Time for a change in forums
Call me crazy, but if I am one of the top contributers in the CS4 or earlier forums, something is wrong with the status quo.
I know I contribute a lot to the video 'lounge' which to me is basically yapping with friends etc...and socializing, but I definitely don't contribute much to cs4 and earlier.
Nor do I contribute to the CS5, 5.5, 6 forum unless someone is talking about 'art', solutions to 'creativity' and so on. Definitely DON'T contribute to tech stuff, actual program related solutions to tech problems.
I got burned a long time ago by fellow contributers who basically told me " If you don't have this version you are misleading people so shut up " no matter how much time I spent trying to solve the problem.
My suspicion is that many long time contributers are getting a bit burnt out answering the same old questions ...that posters may or may NOT even look at for months. Many answers to questions by posters are simply references to the adobe database of similar problems.
Since we are in a computer revolution etc... ( I don't have the energy to explain this 64 bit vs 32 bit etc not to mention hardware and codecs )...I have a suggestion to Adobe.
Dump the cs4 and earlier forum entirely. Your return on that must be near zero in terms of selling product. Let them go somewhere else.
Dump everything except your latest version ( cs6 )...and leave 'hardware', 'lounge' ( so I can tell people about Godzilla and Snakes )..and CHANGE THINGS.
You ( adobe ) are moving into the future too , with many new market share and delivery system realities... so just go with that, with your latest version.
It's obvious to me long time contributers are getting burnt out, the police dept ( moderators ) dont add as much as they used to ( mostly cause you've used their contributions to improve your product...without giving them what is due them for that IMO ...similar to open source " flight simulator " from MS in the distant past ).
You can only milk this for so long and then it becomes an embarrassment to you as a company IMO. You are at that point.
But leave the video lounge cause I have a lot more to share with my friends before I drop dead.=========

hehe... it is nice to have friends who understand or at least tolerate my stupidity, so thanks.
I think one reason maybe ( guessing here ) about Curt's experience is what Steve's experience was with 'residuals' vs Curt's. He got paid for the work on the books, flat fee, one time deal despite all his incredibly good work to make those books good and comprehensive etc..and it could get sold a million times for another ten years...he wasn't getting anything more for his continued 'input' ( server cost etc defrayed by residuals etc ). In other words, Steve was the 'author' of stuff where he got a small piece for the talent and expertise etc he brought to the table, Curt got one check...and probably ended up putting so many hours into it that he got about $5 / hour ....trust me, I know what artists and enthusiastic people who are really good bring to the table.
Anyway, I'm not here to make things 'right' and have no vested interest in what happens in the future. The only thing I'm dealing with right now in my own life is a documentary I want to do here in MN.
It will take a year at least to outline it, script it, write V.O., get some rights to music synchronization, get someone interested in distribution...and I HAVE NO MONEY for this other than my own meager amount and my own 'interest' in the project. If I represent a small portion of people in the world who want to make ' things' others can watch and enjoy...then maybe I am part of what the NLE programs are about for users on home machines and small business machines. And of course that NLE has to be Okay with on set shooting and monitors and scopes and the whole range of workflow ( from shoot to end product ).
That's sorta the 'art' part of this in conjunction with the 'end product' part. If someone does something that costs an arm and a leg, takes a year to get done, and the end product is a flop due to export problems, tweening problems or some other stupid problems...it boils down to a 'wasted year of your life'. Know what I mean ?
Meantime, if we can help make better stuff using this NLE it's important to support one another with that grand design in mind..caring about what posters are trying to accomplish, and helping them get the best results.
So thanks you guys and girl ( Ann ( who hates scary snakes ) ) for your fortitude. And, if Curt ever reads this, don't give up putting in the time ..just get a better contract next time. -
How to get users' login logout time for user IDs for a specific date?
Dear All,
There is a case I being requested to retrieve the Userid, User Name,
User Group, User Dept, Date, Login Time, Logout Time in a specific date, for example, 21.05.2009.
How should I retrieve the information? The user want to input specific date and user group then return the details that mentioned above.
I try with SUIM->Users->By Logon Date and Password Change... but I can't specific the date that I want ...
I try with SM19 (Security Audit Log), but unfortunately in my system this is not activated.
I've seek for SAP's advise, and they say need to ask abaper to developr a report in order to get such details....
Do you guys have any other methods?
Do you guys know which tables will contain the details as mentioned above?

KenUnfortunately without the audit log, you're going have a hard time finding this information. As mentioned, ST03N will give you some information. If your systems daily workload aggregation goes back to the date you require then you'll be able to get a list of all users who logged on that day. ST03N doesn't keep time stamps just response times.
My only idea is VERY labor intensive. If your DB admin can retrieve a save of the database from that day then table USR02 will hold a little more information for you. It will contain last login times for that day. If your system backup policy happened to have saved the contents of folder "/usr/sap/<SID>/<instance>/data" then you potentially have access to all the data you require. The stat file will have recorded every transaction that took place during that day. If that file is restored you could use program RSSTAT20 to query against it.

Longer time for Material Availability check while creation of prd order.
Hi guys,
I am facing a weird problem while creating production orders thru CO01.
I enter the component and plant and I am also using the forward scheduling option.
for some reason, SAP is taking a long time for material availability check when I hit the release button.
Sometimes its taking more than an hour. Its happening with few specific BOM's, and I have checked the master data but I could hardly find a problem in master data.
Can someone suggest me some tips ??

Please check the Availability check control maintained for Components it should be 01 or 02. Also check the issue storage location maintained or not. You can maintain issue storage location in BOM in Status/lng text tab in Production Storage Location.

We had the same problem - how to deploy a number of identical applications, using each their own db.
(for training).
The solution we used is to wrap the entire application into different applications by using a very small
module called KURSUS01, KURSUS02 etc, that did nothing but call the start procedure of the main app.
Then in the dbsession connect, we made a call appname to get the application name, and appended the
first 8 chars to the dbname. Thus our dbnames now points to logicals name: rdbdataKURSUS01, rdbdataKURSUS02 etc.
All this allows us to deploy the identical apps in the same env, or change one version, and run both the old
and new program on the same pc and server at the same time (eg. KURSUS01 and KURSUS02).
I also think this is a kludge - but it works nicely!

My lap top is extremly slow. It studders. It kind of sounds like there is a fan inside and it constantly stopping and starting. And, it takes a really long time for it too start up. Whats wrong with it?
Do you have current backups?
Those symptoms could indicate a failing Hard drive. If it dies, all your documents go with it unless you have Backups.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

How is there such a huge difference ????????? I have bruised thorugh it for like 3 days... i have lost all my hope.. Plz help..Also look at the next code..
When i go to see in the log .. it shows me that every record took like from 2000 nanos to 6 to 7 millis i.e.7000000...
HOw is this even possibly possible ??? where did it get all this extra time from...it should not be more than some 700 to 900 nanos ..
Is there a bottleneck somewhere ????
