Okay, so I try to open an app, but for some reason, I can't close out of the app, multitask, or even shut of my iPod, so it won't lock, but I have the time set to two minutes but its been half an hour and it still didn't lock. Please tell me if fixable.
I try to open up a texting app, and now, it won't lock, exit out (or crash suprisingly), multitask, or even power off. I also had auto lock set to two minutes and it has been about a full hour and it has never locked. If there is someone out there who has the same problem as me, and knows how to fix it, PLEASE TELL ME!!! I have a lot of texts that need to be answered... I also use the Assisstive touch and please tell me if that affects anything about these problems.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I have been backing up iMovie 08 files to my external drive, but for some reason I can't open these files in iMovie. I used drag and drop to copy them.
You really should be doing backups with an actual backup application, especially one that will work automatically, and, if your external HD is large enough, back up your entire system. These can automatically back up only what's changed since the previous backup, and some will keep "archive" copies of things you've changed or deleted, also.
Too many things can go wrong, such as your internal HD failing, and you'll have a major project to reinstall everything.
You already have Time Machine, built-in to OSX. You might want to review the Time Machine Tutorial, and perhaps browse Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.

I can send & receive email from my ipad but for some reason I can no longer do this from my i mac.It keeps telling me that the password is not valid with the imap server.I keep entering the password but it won't accept it.
Do you have one, two or more entries in the left colum of Mail.app for your mail server(s)? That is, do you have your Mail.app set up with either a btinternet entry, with a btyahoo entry, or both? Or more?
I'm guessing that you might have one account (btyahoo?) listed for incoming (IMAP server) mail, and with the outbound (SMTP server) mail is configured and named btinternet.
Based on what little I see posted, it looks like BT uses both btinternet and btyahoo, but I'm not exactly clear on how they have their stuff set up, and their web set gets helpful and tries to help configure my mail — I don't immediately see a single web page with the mail server set-up details. The BT email client set-up starts here. -
For some reason this stopped working on firefox a week or so ago. I have tried to uninstall and install firefox again but the problem still persists. I've tried both chrome and explorer and they don't seem to have this problem.
I'd hate to stop using firefox but this so annoying that in less i can fix it, i'll have to change my browser!Hi larryhall,
I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. My guess is you probably have wireless where you are and might have a computer, but not knowing for sure...
We set my husband's up this Summer, and for whatever reasons used my Apple ID and itunes so he could share our itunes libraries (already paid for shows and movies) and cd's I uploaded to my mac.
So you might be beyond this basic stuff, but it might help.
Also, please note that you can now set up an itunes account without a credit card. If you decide to do that, you can ask family at home to buy itunes cards and give you the #'s without having to mail them to you because you might or might not get them.
You can download a manual at Apple.com which might help you with any problems you encounter.
You will need to sync your ipad with your computer.
If you have/had an ipod, mac book, etc., you're apple id on your ipad will be the same. A couple of weeks ago our younger son bought an ipad before he went back to school. He could not create accts, etc., but then realized he was already set up with his ID from when he got his very first ipod years ago.
Sign up for the cloud for back-up.
Get find my ipad - free app in App store.
And get gotcha (not sure where - my son's looking into it.) But if someone takes your ipad and turns it on, a picture of him/her is automatically e-mailed to you and you can go from there to hopefully retrieve it.

I bought an iTunes gift card to purchase certain things in my favorite app. Well when I try to buy things inside the game it does not give me the option to approve the purchase and it never shows up. I have reset the app, I have deleted the app and downloaded again, I have turned my ipod off and on, I have made sure all updates are up to date and nothing has changed. I saw a similar question like mine and the answer was that you have to have a credit card linked to your iTunes account to make in app purchases and I was thinking they were right until I talked to a few friends who cancelled their credit cards and took them off of the account and can still make in app purchases so that can't be the issues. Can someone please help me this is driving me crazy I have talked to iTunes support but they weren't much support.

Without getting into splitting hairs, no, not necessarily. For instance, a ruling from the Canada Revenue Agency about how a software sale would have to be accounted for buy Apple and how it would affect corporate taxes would not be an explicit law and would explain why no one can provide a pointer to such a law since such a ruling would likely be an internal procedural matter and hence not published in any easily-accessible venue. That's sort of what little information has come out is pointing to, but again I don't know for sure.. Apple clearly feels they have reasons for the policy, though; if it were just being difficult, they'd have the same policy everywhere, so something in Canadian law, tax regulations, etc. is driving it. But to us end users, the reason really doesn't matter.
They could at least they refund the money for customers who were expecting to buy apps..
I would agree that if the restriction isn't printed on the gift card itself or otherwise made clear at the point of purchase, a refund would be in order. But Apple doesn't ask my opinion, and since they put the restriction in the iTunes Store terms of sale (to which we all technically agree when we create our accounts, though few people ever read the agreement), I think such a refund is highly unlikely. -
I jus got a MacBook pro and Im having trouble connecting to my schools network. It is not secured and only requires to login with school id. A Window pops up to sign in but it never loads anyone know why I'm having this problem? Doesn't have a problem connecting to any other wifi

Nonsense, no problems logging in at sites that you mention. I use OpenDNS servers. For the OP try:
System Preferences>Network>Advanced>DNS. In the left side column click on the + sign and insert the following:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
Then click OK, then click Apply. -
When I try to open a New Tap for some reason it's locked cnt open it at all..
it started doing it after I tried 2 update firefox..I already deleted it & reloaded it but it's still do the same thing it will nt open another tap screen..now when I do us other browser like IE all tap windows open...so tell me wht going on here
Probably caused by the Ask Toolbar extension in Firefox 3.6.13, disable that extension or un-install it.

I have 5 frequently-used websites on app tabs on my Firefox browser window. I've had these since I first saw the update about app tabs, and I have never before had a problem with it.
Today, I was working in one tab, and realized I needed to check something on the website at another app tab. I have done that sort of thing many times. But for some reason today, when I clicked on that other app tab, there seemed to be a long wait like it was working hard to make the switch, then suddenly a new Mozilla Firefox window opened with the only tab being the "another app tab" that I had clicked on.
That particular app tab is now missing from my original browser window.
I must've clicked something by accident or hit another key while I was clicking with the mouse on the app tab that I wanted to look at. I have no idea why it opened in its own window and disappeared from my app tabs on the original window.
How do I get that app tab back with the others on the original browser window? Is there any way other than simply starting over and re-pinning that site as an app tab?
If I have to re-pin it on the original window, is there a way to make that app tab the 1st in sequence the way it was before it opened in its own window? It is my most-commonly-used app tab, so I'd really like it to be the first in line, so to speak.

Firefox 3.5 versions and later have a feature called tear-off tabs.<br />
You can detach a tab from the current window and open it in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.<br />
You can drag that tab back to the tab bar in the original window to undo that detaching.<br />

I changed my apple I'd and password because my old ID was not working, but for some reasons I can not get into my app store with the new ID and pass. Please help
Anybody can access the App Store - even without an Apple ID.
What are you saying? You cannot access your purchased apps with your new ID? If you are, that is the way that it works. If you set up a new Apple ID - you can't update the apps that you bought with the old ID. You have to continue to update the purchased apps with the old ID and password since purchases are always tied to the ID that made the purchases.
If you need to sign into your new ID you can do that in Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID. Tap th old ID and sign out then sign in with the new one. -
Hi there
So I just changed from an iphone4S to an iphone 5 because my screen didn't work any longer on the 4s but the phone itself still works so I managed to get all my contacts etc BUT for some reason I can't transfer all my music across to itunes and therefore I can't get it onto my new phone, it only transfers about 50% of it.
Then when i go into music on the iphone 5 it shows the music but won't let you play anything and just flicks through all the songs without playing anything.
Can anyone help please?

I install at the new update cc2014 but for some reason in my computer appear double app the old one and the new but the new dose not gave the setup that I have in my old version! What happen ?
Seriously, I doubt that your answer helped Erik. He has two issues.
He installed the new program and has a double icon folders with software. One for the new & one for the old. (I have this same problem.)
He must have attempted to open one of the products and no longer see his personal settings transferred over. (The install will ask to have those settings migrating, but you have to accept it. eh, I could be wrong; but, that what i remembered doing.
I concur with his first.
However, i can not get any of my products to work. Ie. have to constantly click on icon to open; once open i get a unexpected error and have to close. I'm on a mac pro w/ latest os system.
In addition, I have tried to uninstall the older by clicking on the application's manager icon.; Unfortunately, it shuts down at each attempt. Therefore, I am unable to un-install the old product or the new.
Possibly, we were hoping that the new product would be simply updated if an old recent was already installed.
Instead, the installation simply created a new icon and the new folder with product. -
Iv downloaded the 0845 wizard from the App Store. Registered my details and it has been working. But for some reason it won't let me log in and keep saying failed every time I try to use it. Iv deleted and re-downloaded the app and it still says the same?
I would say to start by looking on their web site... unfortunately, that appears to be dead.
Based on the horrible ratings on the App Store (1 star for the current version), I'm not surprised it doesn't work well.
