OKB9 Functionality Help

Can someone explain how GL accts are determined automatically for expenses such as freight. I have a set of cost elements assigned to company codes but under the mandatory valuation area I have the settings for valuation area and cost center. I am confused as to how does the system find out the right GL acct at the time of freight settlement (shipment cost document). We have maintained same valuation area/cost center combination for same company code different cost elements.
If someone can explain that it would be of great help.

Hi,
These 6 cost elements for eg. freight, insurance, shipping cost, unloading expenses etc., may have been created as P & L A/c in FI and would have been assigned through OBYC. You can assign these 6 elements to same cost center. The transaction through MM postings are passed on FI and subsequently to CO area.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Need PP Functional help for some legacy fields

Hi all,
I am a BW consultant. I need to replicate in SAP-BW some reports that are currently in a legacy system (non SAP). I have identified the functional area for those reports as PP. I need a little functional help from you guys to find out what some fields in the legacy system mean in SAP. Once I know the R/3 fields (and source tables if someone can tell me), I can move forward with mapping those fields into BW objects and the rest of the process.
The reason why I am seeking help from here is, unfortunately our functional team is not available right now and their availability is indefinite. So I just want to keep myself busy till they are back.
Well, here are the fields that I need help for (for now)
The report is for Daily summary of activities at a plant
Work order process
Work order type
Daily Created Bags
Daily Capacity Bags (Bags per Hour Rate* Available Hours)
Daily Count of Work Order Number
Goods issued for work order completion
Goods finished
Please help me identify what R/3 fields (and their tables) correspond to the above legacy fields

Work order type - AUFK - (Field) AUART data needs to be fetched for AUFNR(Work order number)
Daily Created Bags - MSEG - data needs to be fetched for BWART = 101 or 102 and AUFNR(Work order number)

IP-Planning Function Help!! Is this possible?

Dear Experts,
I am relatively new to IP and I want to check if this is possible. I would like to copy a Keyfigure value from one Aggregation level to another Aggregation level.
Here is my scenario.
I have an Aggregation level 1 where it has characteristics Product Group, Year, Version and Percentage. So the planner would plan as
Product Grp-Year-Version---Percentage
GROUP1-2010-100---10%
GROUP2-2010-100---20%
GROUP3-2010-100---15%
Now I have another Aggregation level 2 where it has characteristics Product Group, Product, Year, Version and Cost. I would want the Percentage value which was planned in Agg. level 1 to be copied to all the products in that group. My Planning book would look like

Currently The above products already exist in the cube but the Percentage value for them is blank. When the user saves the first planning book I would want the Planning function to be executed and change the percentage value of each product based on the Prodcut group it belongs to. Also I want the Plan cost to be calculated with the percentage value and the standard cost.
Now when the Planned opens the second planning book he can see the Plan cost already calculated based on the percentage value. However, I will provide an option to the user to change the Plan cost if needed.
Important thing for me to know how I can take the percentage value from first few records and change the value of percentage in the second set of records for each product based on its product group.
Hope my explanation is clear and it is possible to do it.

Hey Andrey, I have tried in several different way but was not able to achieve this. My Stupidity!! I am new to IP and this is the first time I am using Fox formulae and this is driving me crazy. I think its just a basic understanding issue.
I just want to reiterate whay I exactly wanted. Could you please help me with the code.
Here is the current data in the planning cube. The first 3 rows are planned from a planning book. The rest of the rows are loaded from a flat file. When the planning function is executed we would want to take the percentage from the Product group and assign it to each product in the rest of the rows there by calculating the Plan cost.

"Read From Binary File" function Help ambiguity

I must be getting tired, but for some reason a doubt crept in my mind as I was designing a new piece of code this morning:
"is the "Read From Binary File" using the last file position or is it starting from the beginning of the file?"
"That's a stupid question", I told myself.
"I used this function a million times and have always assumed it is reusing the last file position. Moreover, there is no file offset input to that function, so WTH am I afraid of?"
So, for kicks, I fired up the Help window and read the following description (*):
Reads binary data from a file and returns it in data. How the data is read depends on the format of the specified file. This function does not work for files inside an LLB.
(*) BTW, has anybody ever complained that you can't select and copy anything from the floating Help Window?
Not much there. I particularly admire the phrasing of the second sentence... What about: "This function can do a lot of things, but it would much to complex to describe this is extensive details, so if you are asking, you probably can't afford using it"?
Anyhow, I clicked on the "Detailed Help" and got this (among other things):
Use the Set File Position function if you need to perform random access.
WHAT? I am pretty darn sure I DO NOT USE the Set File Position when I read a file in successive and contiguous chunks. I just pass the file refnum into a shift register and back to the function and that's it.
Now, the description of the "Refnum Out" ouput says: If file is a refnum or if you wire refnum out to another function, LabVIEW assumes that the file is still in use until you close it. Translated in plain English, is that supposed to mean that if the file is not closed it is open, or is that implying that it contains more info that just "the file is open and can be found here"?
I started searching around and finally ended up with the entry for "refnums, file I/O". Down the bottom of the (long) article, I found this under the heading "References to Objects or Applications" (but nothing specific to files, BTW):
...LabVIEW creates a refnum associated with that file, device, or network connection...
[...] LabVIEW remembers information associated with each refnum, such as the current location for reading from or writing to the object and the degree of user access, so you can perform concurrent but independent operations on a single object. If a VI opens an object multiple times, each open operation returns a different refnum. LabVIEW automatically closes refnums for you when a VI finishes running, but it is a good programming practice to close refnums as soon as you are finished with them to most efficiently use memory and other resources.
So it seems that my recollection was correct. I do not know what the "degree of user access" for a file is, but that's not the topic of today's post.
So, my point is: the Help File for this function is incomplete or ambiguous at best. Please correct it. And provide a link to the "refnum, file I/O" Help entry in its detailed Help. It would H E L P...

Reading in succesive chunks is *NOT* random access. An open file always has
a current position, which is updated with each read or write operation.
You only need to set the file position if you want to start elsewhere.

That should get you in the correct direction.

SQL Loader : Trim and Decode functions help please

I have to load data from a flat file, for some columns i need to use TRIM and DECODE functions.It is a pipe delimited file.
I get syntax errors (one is below) same error listed for TRIM.
SQL*Loader-350: Syntax error at line xx.
Expecting "," or ")", found "DECODE".
===========
,FINAL_BILL_DATE CHAR(30) "TRIM(:FINAL_BILL_DATE)"
,BUSINESS_ID "DECODE(:BUSINESS_ID,'B',1,'C',2,'E',3,'G',4,'O',5,'R',6,'T',7,'U',8,'H',9,-1)"

Hello Cherrish.
The error you are receiving leads me to believe that at some point prior to the DECODE on the line for BUSINESS_ID, probably some line even before the FINAL_BILL_DATE line, there a syntactical error causing the quotes before the DECODE to actually terminate some other syntax. Without all of the lines that could actually contribute to this, including the header details, this is the best I can advise.

Countif function help

Having difficulty with the Countif function.
This works:=COUNTIF(Focal Length,B2) (gives me the count of numbers equal to 14 which is in B2)
and This works: =COUNTIF(Focal Length,">14") (gives me the count of numbers greater than 14)
but this does not:=COUNTIF(Focal Length,>B2)
Nor does this: =COUNTIF(Focal Length,">B2")
the two that don't work give an error saying there is a syntax error as opposed to an incorrect count.
At a loss as to what I'm doing wrong. B2 does contain the number 14 (formatted as a number)
For what it's worth analyzing some EXIF data pulled from Aperture, looking at the most common focal lenght I use.

Hi Rick,
The 'condition' in SUMIF must be expressed as a text string.
">14"         works because the text string correctly expresses the condition 'greater than 14'
>B2           fails because the operator ">" is not interpreted as text, as required.
">B2"        fails because "B2" is text, and is not interpreted as a cell reference.
">"&B2     works because the text string ">" and the result returned by the cell reference B2 (14) are joined by the concatenation operator & into the text string ">14"
All very complicated (at least until you've written a few SUMIF statements).

TO_DATE function help

Dear All,
I need Output of the following query in the 'JANUARY' or 'JAN' i.e. 'MONTH' or 'MON' format. But following query is returning full date. Could any person help to get me output in MONTH or MON format but SQL should be using TO_DATE function.
TO_DATE(to_char(trunc(ORDERED_DATE),'MONTH'),'MONTH') order_date

For each DATE value, Oracle stores the following information: century, year, month, date, hour, minute, and second.

moreover, the human eye can only read character datatypes (not number or date datytypes) !
which means, whenever you do a select sysdate from dual there will be an implicit conversion
to character datatype to make it readable for you (according to nls_date_format) .
alter session set nls_date_format = 'DD.MM.YYYY' ;
select sysdate today from dual ;
TODAY
21.12.2008
alter session set nls_date_format = 'YYYY.MM.DD' ;
select sysdate today from dual ;
TODAY
2008.21.12So the same statement select sysdate today from dual ; will give different results on different systems,
just depending on some initial settings !
You ask why ? It's because you are using implicit conversion !!!

error codes are hard coded values
for the first error message above i want output in this way

for the second error message above i want output in this way

Custom Function Help

I have a report with many subreports which all contain the same formula to group teams.When a new team is added i need to update all instances of the formula so they are all up to date.I know of Custom Function so i created one out of the formula in the main report. The problem im finding is that im unable to use that custom function in the sub reports.Am i wring in thinking that a custom function created in a main report can be used in its sub reports??Am i creating the custom function incorrectly? Heres what i have done:
Our database has team names that have a prefix of the State they are in such as: Perth - Team Orange Perth - Team Apple Sydney - Team Grape Sydney - Team Pineapple
At one stage the Teams in Perth had been split into Perth1 and Perth2 resulting in the following records in the database:
Perth1 - Team Orange Perth - Team Orange
Because of this i have created a formula that groups teams into sites:
select Trimleft(mid({team.name},instr({team.name},'-')+1))case 'Team Orange', 'Team Apple': 'Perth'case 'Team Grape', 'Team Pineapple': 'Sydney'default:''
I use this formula in all reports and subreports and i link by them as well, so if a new team is created (for example Perth - Team Pear) i need toupdate all instances of the formula by adding 'Team Pear' to the Perth case.
To fix the problem i created a custom function (called 'site') out of the formula above and it created this:
Funtion (stringvar v1)select Trimleft(mid(v1,instr(v1,'-')+1))case 'Team Orange', 'Team Apple': 'Perth'case 'Team Grape', 'Team Pineapple': 'Sydney'default:''
Now within that main report i am able to go to the formula editor and when i type site() then wording becomes blue but when i go into a sub report to do the same it doesnt react.
I hope i have explained my self well enough for you to understand my predicament without boring you.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it does make things easy for me. If i add the custom function in the subreport then i will have to updae that as well whenever a new team is created. I'm looking for a solution where i only have to update the custom function in the main report only and not in the 7 or 8 subreports within it.
Unless i am doing something wrong. I basically copied the contecnt of the Custom Function in the main report and then went into the sub report and created a new Custom Function and pasted the code in it.

Mysql 5 Functions HELP

Heres a recap of the problem.
Im migrating from coldfusion using oracle db with packages to
coldfusion using mysql5 and hoping to use mysql 5 functions in
place of the oracle packages.
Now the problem is when I try to use a function inside of a
sql statement in coldfusion the mysql server shuts down and
coldfusion bombs with an error..
Heres some of my code.
I can successfully run this:

Now I can take my sql statements and run them in the mysql

Why is coldfusion killing the connection?
I've tried running coldfusion 6 and coldfusion 7.
I've tried running ever possible J connector I could find on
the mysql site.
I've messed around with syntax etc with the queries and Im
still no where.
I havn't been able to find information if any about mysql
functions. Are these fully supported?
Any help would be greatly apreaciated, thanks.

MM functional Help

experts,
I need a help in MM functional area.
I have a requirement to display in report for differnt movement types like transfers, issues and receipts.
The movement types for tranfers 411 412 , but I observed in MB51 that 411 text(+ sloc to sloc) and 411 text (- consignment to own) again considering +ve an -ve based on text from T156T (movement text table. but for some materials it is not set.
My doubt is How can I categrorize these values +ves and -ves. Which field(s) is I need to look.
Is there any field(s) to capture the movements within the plant and outside the plant?

SHKZG is the right thing to consider.
Considering an example with 411 transaction in MB51. Take that material document, go to table MSEG with the same material document.
Execute for entries giving the material document number.
If you observe for each item, you will find two entries. One with XAUTO = SPACE and another with XAUTO = 'X'.
XUATO = 'X' is the one generated by SAP.
More to observe, if you see SHKZG will be different for both entries.
Generally in extraction in our programs, we will consider the entries which are not automated i.e XAUTO = SPACE.
Next thing to observe is, w.r.t 411 it is transfer posting between storage location.
Hence you will see fields LGORT and UMLGO populated.
It means stock is moved from storage location in LGORT to storage location in UMLGO.
For storage location in LGORT it is negative movement, whereas for storage location in UMLGO it is negative movement when the Debit/Credit Indicator(SHKZG) is 'H'.
Hope this info gives you some more idea.
