OLAP Component is invalid

Hi,
We have a environment where current version of database is 10.2.0.4 but OLAP component version shows 9.2.0.7 from dba_registry and it is invalid. What could be the possible solution in this case.
removeand re-install the OLAP components will help?

Was OLAP valid in 9.2.0.7?  Did you run catupgrd.sql or dbua to upgrade the database?
If you open an SR with support, then we can look at your upgrade logs.
It is not necessary to re-install OLAP at this point, looking at the install logs should help us understand what caused the problem.

  • OLAP Cache not invalidating

    Hello People,
I am having a problem with the OLAP Cache not invalidating when new data is loaded into the basic cubes that make up a multiprovider.
    In detail:
I can run a report from a multi provider for which I will then see a cache entry in RSRT for that query.  I can then perform a data extraction to one of the basic cubes, including a rollup of aggregates, index generation and statistics build.  I then re-check RSRT and the query cache selections still exist. If I now re-run the query it retrieves the results from the cache, ie not updated with the new data.
    Information:
    System - BW 3.5 SP 13.
Basic infoproviders have DB Stats settings of 100% of IC data used to create statistics as advised by an SAP performance expert.  Cubes are less than 10million records.
Please help me as this is driving me crazy and my Basis support are insisting that it is a problem with the settings in BW...
    Thanks
    Jim

    Thanks for the replies.
I realise that new data should invalidate the OLAP cache, however this is my problem.  It does not appear to be removing the cache entry when new data is loaded.
I am getting around the problem by manually deleting the cache entry in RSRCACHE on a query by query basis across multiple app servers.  - Not very efficient.
I have also tried the regeneration of the query but have found that this does not always invalidate the cache across all app servers, only the one that the regeneration was performed on.
You mentioned the time-stamp of the cache entry - do you know what table this is stored in?  It would be helpful for explaining on OSS I think.

  • Web Dynpro ABAP Component configuration - Invalid access Key

    Hi Friends,
I have copied HRESS_CC_MENU_OVP to ZHRESS_CC_MENU_OVP and trying to configure it. Even after registering the object it is giving the same error Invalid access key.
We have registered HRESS_CC_MENU_AREA_GROUP and the access key worked fine. But registration for HRESS_CC_MENU_OVP is giving error Invalid access key. We have deleted and registered the object thrice but system is giving the same error.
Can someone please suggest me where I have gone wrong.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

    Hi,
Each component will have different access key. you cannot use the same access key to different application.
You can try with different access key else you have an option of enhancing the HRESS_CC_MENU_OVP.

  • How to install OLAP component in ORACLE 9.2?

    Hello!
I run Oracle database version 9.2. I have read that it is possible to use an OLAP engine/component/software with Oracle. I can't find it out in my Oracle menu. How can I install it? I read somewhere that this component only runs under UNIX, is this true? I want to use it to perform BusinessObjects reports using OLAP cubes.
    Thank you very much.
    Julen.

For both Oracle OLAP 9.2 and 10g, you need to install the Enterprise Edition of Oracle Database with a Data Warehouse database configuration. Oracle Database then contains an enabled OLAP configuration.
Yes, to run Oracle OLAP on 9.2, you must patch up to OLAP 9.2.0.4.1 (PS# 3084634 from MetaLink) at a minimum. Ideally you would install the latest 9.2.0.6.0 patch set (PS #3948480). For 10g, you must patch up to OLAP 10.1.0.3.0A (PS #3769360) at a minimum. Ideally you would install the latest OLAP 10.1.0.3.0C patch (PS #4074620).

  • OLAP Universe and Invalid MDX error

    Hi all,
I'm new to OLAP/BW universes and I've run into some strange issues. I've generated a universe based on a Bex query and I'm getting invalid mdx errors when drilling on a couple of the hierarchies. There has been no customisation of the universe so I'm not sure how invalid mdx can be generated??? I've placed Product and Profit center hierarchies and a single Key Figure onto a report and when I drill down on the hierarchies I get the error. It only seems to happen when I have more than one hierarchy on the report. A single hierarchy with Key Figures does not cause an error.
    Business Objects Edge 3.1 SP2
    SAP Int Kit SP2
    OS: Linux
    BW 701 Level 6
Executing the mdx in MDXTEST gives the error "Invalid MDX command with {...}"
    Webi log entry below.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Cheers

  • SessionInfo component - Shows invalid

    Hi folks,
Iam new to JDeveloper trying to learn it.
I have a problem here. I was trying to add a sessionInfo component from InfoProducers tab.
I had set the connectionname correctly. Should I set IIOP connection for a JAVA Application. I tried setting both , but still sessionInfo shows the "RED X" mark.
What can go wrong here .
    I would appreciate any help
    thanks in advance
    Padma Kallur.

    hi,
the red X on valid sessions is a designer problem. it seems that jdev remembers invalid
session names. the solution: simply try to rename your session's name (eg. sessionInfoEmpDept instead of sessionInfo) because if a valid(!) session gets a red X once you won't get it away without renaming the session.
Additionally, you have to watch the generated code. The designer doesn't remove the publishSession command of renamed sessions. If you rename your session like above you will get the following lines:
    sessionInfoEmpDept.publishSession();
    sessionInfo.publishSession();
although sessionInfo is not defined anymore (but your compiler will show you this anyhow).
    hope i could help

  • Component.validate() leaves invalidated

    Hello,
    I have the following problem:
    nodeComp.validate();
    if (!nodeComp.isValid())
System.err.println("Component is invalid!!!");It keeps printing that the component is invalid.
I am using a JComponent as a stamp (same as in JTable) so my component is not really added to any container.
    PS: bsampieri are you there?

    yeah...
Did you read the API docs on what validate() and isValid() means? I don't believe, from reading them just now, that they are that closely related.
validate() -- Ensures that this component has a valid layout. This method is primarily intended to operate on instances of Container.
isValid() -- Determines whether this component is valid. A component is valid when it is correctly sized and positioned within its parent container and all its children are also valid.
What's the real problem? That it says it's valid or not shouldn't matter. If you call setSize() and validate(), after that you should be able to call paint() on the component with another graphics object to draw that component on the graphics.

  • InterMedia installation - invalid component

After installing intermedia audio & video
manually using the ordinst.sql and iminst.sql scripts I run the imchk.sql script to check and see if everything is ok.
For some reason the InterMedia option is showing as invalid. Any guess as to why? I have removed all intermedia stuff and then reinstalled with the same results. There are no errors during installation only the component shows invalid.

What version of Oracle are you using? On which platform?
Also, could you post the output of the imchk.sql script?

  • Components invalid in Standard Edition

    Hi all
have to upgrade from 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.4 and pre-upgrade tool indicates that Oracle Olap Api component is invalid.  Since this option is not availabe in Standard Edition, wanna know if I can safely ignore it or should I try to de-install it prior to upgrading. And if so, shold apply note 1362752.1?
    thanks in advance
    Gustavo.

It means that these components are not supported by your database edition. After the upgrade they will remain at the original version and not been patched.
As far as I know that they are not necessary.
Consequently, you  will not face issues , if you do not specially use these components.

  • Analytical Workspace Manager as INVALID

    Hi group,
I am following next step of Note:Using Oracle EBS R12 with a Database Tier Only Platform on Oracle 11gR1 [ID 762669.1]:
1.- Run $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlirp.sql to invalidate the PL/SQL modules
2.- Install OLAP by performing the detailed step 6 as documented in OracleMetaLink Note 352306.1, Upgrading OLAP from 32 to 64 bits.
3.- Upgrade the database from 32-bit to 64-bit (recompile pl/sql modules and change the word size) by running $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql. Refer to the usage and notes sections in the script for instructions on how to run it.
Right now, I am compiling objects, but OLAP Analytical Workspace component is showed as INVALID.
There are no Invalid OLAPSYS' objects, also, I have executed *@%ORACLE_HOME%/olap/admin/olap.sql* SYSAUX TEMP; command to install OLAP component.
    SQL> SELECT count(*), owner
    2 FROM dba_objects
    3 WHERE status = 'INVALID'
    4 AND owner = 'OLAPSYS'
    5 GROUP BY owner;
    no rows selected
Any advice about how to VALIDATE this component, by the way I will wait until utlrp.sql completition.
    Kind regards,
    Francisco Mtz. Oviedo

    Francisco,
Query DBA_REGISTRY to verify the status of "OLAP Analytic Workspace" component.
Also, wait for the script to finish and check the status of the objects then.
    Thanks,
    Hussein

  • Unable to patch OLAP components to 9.2.0.5

    Hi,
We had Oracle 9.2.0.1 enterprise edition installed with OLAP and data mining options along side OWB 9.2. We applied the patch set version 9.2.0.5 and followed all the steps listed in the readme for patch 3501955.
The database version seems to be patched to Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.5.0 - Production, but the olap components did not get patched. They are still showing version 9.2.0.1 in the dba_registry.
