Could anybody help me?
Thanks in advance.
This issue should go Oracle Support. Please register an iTAR on metalink.oracle.com. The error occurs at very early stage of startup. I have never seen this before.
In addition to this log, if the platform is on Windows, a registry dump under
\\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ORACLE\OLAP
or, if it's on Unix,
$ORACLE_HOME/olap/olap.key
would also help Support.

I have Installed Oracle9i Enterprise Edition on a Win 2000 m/c. During the installation steps I choose the pre configured database type to be for data warehousing.
Installation was smooth without any errors. However I do not see any OLAP services running. Also I do not see any /bin folder under ORACLE_HOME/OLAP as refered in some of the forums discussion topics.
Can anybody help me out to get OLAP enabled. We are going to need more information to figure this out. We will need to take a look at your logs. Here are the steps to create them:
Please change the path to fit into your environment.
- Set a SYSTEM environment variable
variable: OES_EA_STARTUP
value: -LogOutput=VDBG
- Reboot the PC
- Stop OLAP Agent if it's running
- Edit a registry key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
[Software\ORACLE\OLAP\ExpressServer\OLAPServer\I/O Management]
EventLogPath = (REG_SZ) "c:\oracle\ora90\olap\OLAPServer\log"
- Create the corresponding directory if there isn't.
- Rename the following log files for backup
%ORACLE_HOME%\olap\OLAPServer\log\OLAPService.log
%ORACLE_HOME%\olap\log\OLAPServicesAgent.log
- Make sure that Oracle and tnslistener service are running
- Make sure that you can connect as olapsvr/instance in sqlplus
- Start Oracle OLAP Agent from services applet
- Start OLAPServer from services applet
- The following two files will be generated.
%ORACLE_HOME%\olap\OLAPServer\log\OLAPService.log
%ORACLE_HOME%\olap\log\OLAPServicesAgent.log
Pleaser email me your logs. Thanks. -
I can't start OLAP Service from OEM 9.0.2
I don't know how start Olap Service from OEM 9.0.2. Please tell me how to do this! May be somebody will send me letter. [email protected]
Yes.
First, get an app called MPEG Streamclip, which is free. (google MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5)
Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iMovie, select the clip you need. Then, right-click/Reveal in Finder.
Drag this clip into MPEG Streamclip
In MPEG Streamclip, move the playhead to the frame you want.
In MPEG Streamclip, click FILE/EXPORT FRAME.
Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG and give it a name.
You can then drag this photo into iPhoto.
Here is a video I made that steps through this...
I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link. -
Hi,
I don't have much luck in getting the OLAP Service started when I'm evaluating the product (9.0.1.0.0) on Solaris.
When I tried to connect to the OLAP Service Instance Manager from OEM, I got the XPINSMGR-10565 error. And when I tried to start the olap service using the "olap start" command I spotted the error "OES_REQUEST, read fail, error 11" (after setting up the TCP Connection) at the end of the OLAPServicesAgent.log
Is there any document that list out all the procedures/guidelines on making OLAP works? The existing ones doesn't seem to be enough when a problem occurs and I can't find much help online probably because the product is fairly new.
Thanks. In order to test the cube viewer I created a 3-dimension fact table (with only 20 entries) with a normalized snowflake schema. The cube viewer works fine without the materialized view generated but I did encounter a little problem with the Summary Advisor. I was prompted by the error 'expection VdbSQLException{wstring reason="ORA-30466: can not find the specified workload............' followed by a bunch of error messages when I used the Wizard to create the materialized views. Can you please help?
Thanks,
Roy.
Try refreshing the Materialized Views by clicking the Analyze button on the General tab within OEM. It may be stale. -
CORBA instance for OLAP Services?
Hi All,
I am new to OLAP, and I am trying to use OLAP API over a data warehouse I've created for test. I am developping on the following environement:
- Windows 2000 Professional
- OLAP API
- Oracle 9.0.1
I am having a javax.naming.NamingNotFoundException. It seems that the OLAP Instance Manager does not have the right permission to create the CORBA Instance in the JVM, as you can see in the following piece of log:
[598] OLAPI Interface - Cannot bind to folder context OLAPServer, creating....
[598] OLAPI Interface - CORBA::NO_PERMISSION.
[598] OLAPI Interface - Cannot create folder context OLAPServer.
[598] OES Kernel - Remote Operations Interface resolution failed.
I've found a previous message in this forum that explain us how to create manually the /etc/OLAPServer instance to have access to OLAP Services through OLAP API, as shown here:
sess_sh -u sys -p change_on_install -service sess_iiop://YOUR-HOSTNAME:2481:SID
mkdir /etc/OLAPServer
chmod +rwx PUBLIC /etc/OLAPServer
I've done it and restarted the OLAP Instance. This time, the OLAP Instance Manager was able to create the CORBA Instance for OLAP Services, but in /etc/debugagent/OLAPServer (as seen in the OEM JVM), with the following URL for connecting to it through CORBA:
sess_iiop://YOUR-HOSTNAME:2481:SID/etc/OLAPServer/OLAPServer.
Does anyone know what is the problem? Is there a permission problem with the OLAP Instance Manager when it tries to create the CORBA instance in JVM?
Thanks a lot,
MarioHi Anthony,
First place, thank you for your help.
I4ve already applied those patches and the users you specified in the previous mail are unlocked and already have rwx permission.
I found really strange too when the /etc/OLAPServer instance was created under the debugagent context. I really don4t know what is going on?
Do you know something about problems on OLAP Services when you are working with brazilian portuguese language? I am asking this because I know a lot of people that have applied those patches and everything worked just nice, the only difference between our platform and their is the language.
Thanks again.

Hello All,
I am getting following error, when trying to expand essbase from calculation manager, "Cannot connect to olap service. Cannot connect to Essbase Server. Error:Essbase Error(1051293): Login fails due to invalid login credentials",
I am using EPM 11.1.2.1
Thanks
YashIf you have moved the server to a new data center and an issue has started occurring then it could point to the change.
Are you able to log into essbase directly with Maxl using the same account?
If you run a registry report do you see any of the configuration with IPs instead of DNS/hostname
Cheers
John

RodrigoWhere I can find the OLAP Services package to download.
I4m using Oracle 9i EE for Linux and I want to use the
Java OLAP API but I can4t find it.
TIA,
Rodrigo I discovered that the OLAP Services can be installed in 9i4s
version for NT (I was using Linux). I read that it must be
installed using the Data Warehouse option. I don4t know if
its true, but I did it anyway.
I seems that OLAP in Oracle is organized this way:
1. 9i comes with basic OLAP capabilities based on Relational
OLAP (ROLAP)
2. To extend these functionalities to include Multidimensional
OLAP (MOLAP) features, you must install Oracle with the
Data Warehouse option. BUT, that4s the point of confusion,
MOLAP features came from an Oracle product known as Express
Server. I4m not sure, I seems that the Express Server was
a tool designed for NT and UNIX, and this UNIX means anything
but Linux!!!
The problem is: Oracle doesn4t say anything this solution!!!

Please reply to me also...
I know that the OLAP API comes with OLAP Services and should

it on my machine!!! Oracle4s taxonomy and product organization

I purchased the Oracle Enterprise DB CD pack from the Oracle Store.
The installation went fine but I don't have OLAP Services set up in my
DB. I tried to use the OLAP Services Instance Manager from within the
Oracle Enterprise Manager console. An error message said that I must
first install OLAP Services in my DB. I had no option to this from CD
setup, even if I did Custom install. Do I have to buy something else
from Oracle, and if so, how can I? I have not been able to find any
helpful information on technet.oracle.com . Does the Oracle Java OLAP
API come with OLAP Services? -
SAP Service Not Starting in BI 7.0
Hi All,
Today morning my BI 7.0 server restarted twice automatically, then I started the server in last known good configuration after that when I tried to start the server from SAP MMC it didn't started and when i checked the sap service in services.msc it gives error <b>"Some services stop automatically when they have no work to do"</b>.and didn't get started.
I found a thread similiar to this problem and following that I used sapstartsrv.exe in usr\sap\SID\......\exe directory. This didn't worked for me and by using this Both the services SAPEP2_00 and SAPEP2_01 got removed from services.msc.
Now I have installed these service again and now I am at same status as in morning,
In Event log
For SAPEP2_00 and SAPEP2_01 the following error are avaliable:
--Initialization failed. Service not started. [ntservmain.cpp 1269]
--Unable to change to Directory
gms40\saploc\EP2\DVEBMGS00\work. (Error 53 ERROR_BAD_NETPATH: The network path was not found. ) [ntservstart.cpp 966]
If any one have gone through such situation please help me out from this, Its has became too critical for me now.
Thanks in advance....

Web Services wont start, please help
Hello all,
I appologize up front but I dont really have a lot of experience with OSX server. So yesterday I got a report that my companied website was down. I went in to check the server and it wouldnt log in just got the pinwheel for about 10 minutes so we rebooted it (me and my IT staff). Upon reboot we could login and all seems well except that the web services wont start and our website is still down. when you try and start the service you get:
" A service has encountered and error, Try to refresh the view (172.18.180.15/Web). Report the problem to the administrator if it persists. (could not start web service - details in error log)."
but when you go to the log to see what is going on the last entry says:
" [Thu Jan 15 14:47:27 2009] [error] [client 172.18.180.15] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/error.html "
that is about the time that the website appears to have gone offline... Also after navigating to the directory it says, there indeed is no error.html but all other files appear to be there. I have also used the terminal to read the last 100 lines of the error log file using tail -100 /var/log/httpd/error_log and get:

So im at a loss and any ideas would be much appricated. I know that earlier in the day one of our web people updated our website to add a calender using dreamweaver but dont know much about exactly what was done.
Thanks again
Troy SmithThanks for the responce. So it looks to me like the content of the webpage is all there , minus the error.html file. Its all located in Library/webserver/documents. I have gone there and am even able to bring up our webpage by launching index.html and it appears to work perfectly with no broken links. you just cant access it from the outside world.
here is the last bit of the access log:

Hi Forum members,
We have a client that has intermittent issues with RDS on a 2012 R2 server.
As an overview of the environment, the client has a single VMWare host support 2 x Windows 2012 R2 VMs one is the File/Print/Email server and the 2nd is the RDS server used to allow the client to run MYOB Enterprise. Both servers have the AD DS role and
DNS roles amongst others.
The 1st issue is that the RD Connection Broker shows the error: "The server pool does not match the RD Connection Brokers that are in it. and then "1. Cannot connect to any of the specified RD Connection Broker servers".
The above issue seems to be caused by the RDMS service not starting. When you attempt to start it, the service stops and the error in the title is logged in the "System" event log. Full transcript below:

I have been attempting to resolve these errors for some time, without success. I have read the many KBs and forum entries related to the above and applied a number of the suggested fixes, including the one which suggests to add the NT SERVICE\ALL SERVICES
to the "Logon as a Service" in the "User Rights Assignment" of the "Default Domain Policy" which is linked to the domain level, that both servers are objects of.
My question to the forum is, can anyone come up with a solution to resolve the above issues and all the RDMS service to start which will then hopefully resolve the broker error?
Regards,
David West.Hi David,
If virtual machines on the server are Windows Server 2012, then it is not supported to install Remote Desktop Connection Broker on a Domain Controller.
More information for you:
Remote Desktop Services role cannot co-exist with AD DS role on Windows Server 2012
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2799605/de
Guidelines for installing the Remote Desktop Session Host role service on a computer running Windows Server 2012 without the Remote Desktop Connection Broker role service
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2833839
If the VMs are Windows Server 2012 R2, I suggest you install RDS on a separate machine to see if the issue persists.
Best Regards,
Amy

Apple mobile device service not started
Each time i try to sync my iphone to itunes it keeps on saying "apple mobile device service not started"
I know how to start it and everything its that when i start it it says "Windows could nt start the Aplle Mobile Device service on local computer"
I have the newest itunes and i have windows 7first I would check the event viewer for into about what goes wrong that cause the service to fail
if this don't give a clear image about what the problem is
then I would uninstall itunes and resinstall it
if that didn't help I would ask questions about solve the problem in the itunes for windows forum where people wise in the ways of itunes would be more likely to read your post

Problems with one of the front-end servers (service wont start)
Hi,
Having a pool with two front-end servers (Lync Server 2013 on Windows Server 2012) and I cannot get one of servers to work properly.
The Front-End service is not starting.
Have removed both servers from the topology and installed one at the time. When adding the second server to the pool the service never starts, its in starting state and a bunch of error messages appears:
- Server startup is being delayed because fabric pool manager is initializing.
Cause: This is normal when Pool is bootstrapped and indicates that the Front-End is waiting for a quorum of other Front-Ends to be started.
- Pool Manager failed to connect to Fabric Pool Manager.
Cause: This could happen because insufficient number of Front-Ends are currently active in the Pool.
I have tried restarted one at the time, both at the same time...
Reset-CsPoolRegistrarState -ResetType QuorumLossRecovery
Reset-CsPoolRegistrarState -ResetType FullReset
I have also had a look at the kb saying that there could be a certificate issue. So I have ran that script but no certificate is misplaced in any store.
I have removed the front-end certificates and requested new ones from the internal CA, I have also done the same to the OAuth certificates.
How to proceed?Hi there,
if you are still receiving, the same error, please try to shutdown the first Front-End Server, and give time for the services to start, however I would like also to add that with Lync server 2013 the Enterprise pool requirements is to have 3 Front-End Servers
in a pool instead of 2, because of introducing the brick model architecture.
Regards,
Charbel Hanna

Hi everyone,
Hope you can help me out on a couple of issues I've been experiencing during the initial stages of a project to upgrade an on premise Exchange 2007 to 2013.
On Monday last week I installed the first Exchange 2013 server into the network after a few weeks of careful planning, information gathering and remediation of our current Exchange 2007 environment and associated systems.
The server itself has been having some issues from the word go, some of which I've resolved but none that are show stoppers but I want to get them resolved before building more servers and setting up the planned 2 x 2 node DAG's
The main problems are as follows:
There's usually one service that does not start following an OS restart and it's not always the same service. So far I've seen the following not start: DAG Management, Migration Workflow, Anti-spam Update, Unified Messaging, UM Call Router, Transport
Service.
The critical system event log entries are complaining of timeouts when the services are starting up but I can't imagine that the servers boot time is too long... It's a 2 vCPU/12Gb vRAM VM, Windows 2012 R2
I receive an error in the Event Log regarding RPC over HTTP Proxy
to one of the 2007 CAS servers (not our primary one). The first error was because the Windows Component was missing but since installing it, disabling Outlook Anywhere, reenabling it, restarting the server, I now have a new error which is shown further down
this post
The Exchange 2013 server install is pretty default, CAS/MBX roles and some basic configuration performed such as new DNS entries, Public SSL certs installed and assigned, URL's updates, SCP updated. I have review and resolved some errors from the event logs
for over chatty warnings about disk space (the warning is that we have loads of space...)
This is a brief outline of the environment:
Exchange 2007 SP3 RU13
UK - Two physical locations in a stretch LAN (100Mb WAN)
4 x CCR Cluster Mailbox Servers in two separate CCR Clusters
Cluster 1 - Windows 2003 R2: One physical, one virtual server - don't ask, legacy install and I know the virtual is not a supported configuration.
Cluster 2 - Windows 2008 R2: Two virtuals - New cluster built following a 4 day failure of Cluster 1. The aim was to move to supported config and decommission cluster 1.
Note: Migration of Cluster 1 to Cluster 2 was halted as 2013 was so close it seemed pointless to continue the migration and instead migrate both Clusters to 2013 once in production.
2 x Virtual Windows 2003 R2 - Hub Transport Servers
2 x Virtual Windows 2003 R2 - Client Access Servers
1 x Virtual Windows 2003 R2 - Unified Messaging Server
1 x Virtual Windows 2003 R2 - Edge Transport Server (DMZ)
US - One physical location
1 x Physical Windows 2008 R2 - Mailbox, Client Access, Hub Transport Server
Exchange 2013 CU5
UK - Installed into same site along side Exchange 2007 servers
1 x Virtual Windows 2012 R2 - Mailbox, Client Access Server
Problem 2 Error Message - Please note, server names and domain name changed:

</Event>Hi Off2work,
I've gone through the article and the Get-OutlookAnywhere commandlet looks fine (especially when compared with our working CAS).
Having looked through IIS I have spotted two additional misconfigurations with a missing setting to require SSL on the RPC folder and also the .NET version was not set.
I've now set those to Require SSL and .NET 2.0.5072 however this has made no difference following restarted of both 2007 CAS and 2013 servers.
I could potentially reinstall the CAS server or additionally decommission it as we have two of them and the other is not causing any errors with the 2013 server. This broken CAS server doesn't even have DNS records (except it's own hostname) or firewall
rules pointing to it, nor does it have any active client connections if I check with a quick netstat -a
As for UM, it's next on my list following some client/server connectivity testing so I have not yet assigned the SSL to the services or setup the dial plans, etc.
The services do start most of the time, but others then don't so it's not a consistent issue with just this service. On my current boot, the DAG Management service failed to start, but again I don't have a DAG implemented yet.
I will see if UM drops out of that list once I've configured it shortly
Thanks for taking the time to respond (and that goes to DareDevil too) -
Coldfusion 11 install successful but service wont start
I downloaded the latest coldfusion 64bit for windows yesterday, file ColdFusion_11_WWEJ_win64.exe, and it completed installation successfully on my windows 7 professional machine. The Cold Fusion Application Server service did not start and trying to start it via services results in a 1053 error immediately. There are no log files generated at this point.
I have tried installing 4 times with various options. I am using apache for the web server, which works fine with coldfusion 9. I tried the hotfix patch 4 for cf 11, which was mentioned in another post. It installed properly but had no effect. I also checked the xml file C:\ColdFusion11\cfusion\runtime\conf\context.xml to make sure that
<Manager pathname=""/> was not commented out (and it wasnt), which was mentioned in an adobe blog post.
Does anyone have any idea how to get the service running?thanks for reply
but my firewall is not on and the coldfusion server service
aint starting whiles the other two services(ODBC etc) are running
smooth.
cant afford to mess up my internet connection settings cos
it would warrant paying a visit to my ISP office with my PC . its a
