Olap Variable different from Dev and QA

Hi,
From our infopackage under Data Selection Tab in DEV, we can use the Olap var-0P_PRFP1. But we cannot see the same variable in QA. The whole list of Olap variable is a lot lesser in QA. Is there any setting for that, or we need any specific hotpack?
Thanks,
Kev

Thanks Bhanu,
Do you mean I need to transport the infopackage from Dev to QA, and then I will be able to use the same olap variable in QA.
Or I need to transport the olap variable only. If this is the case, which object under transport connection contains the olap variable? I can't find it.
Thanks,
Kev

  • FB60 screen change layout different between DEV and PRD

    Hi,
I'm having problem with transaction FB60. When i try to change the layout in PRD, in screen Edit System Setting, some of the field showing 0 length. For example in WBS element field, in DEV show length 24 but PRD show length 0. I try to compare the version but it is same (program & table structure - ACGL_ITEM). When I debug the program, found out that it will get the structure from sap internal c program call 'AB_GET_CX_DATA'. So, maybe this program version are different between DEV and PRD.
Anybody knows what is the cause of this problem? Or maybe somebody can tell me how to check sap internal c program.
    Thank you very much.

Yes. FB60 is Enter Vendor Invoice. In this screen you can see a table with column such as GL Acct, Debit/Credit, Amount in DC, Cost Center and others. You can add or remove some of the field using Table Setting and create Screen Variant. My problem is, the length of WBS Element and Profit Center field is 0. How to change the length.
I already searched in forum but I only found how to create screen variant.
    Thanks.

  • Risk Analysis result different in DEV and PROD

    Hi Gurus,
I have modified few functions in development and transported the changes but after transport there is a new SOD produced at the user level and with same access in Development there is no violation when I checked the function permission there is two duplicate entries in production ruleset compared to Development. Do I need to remove the duplicate entries in production and then run risk analysis is this going to fix SOD ?
My assumption is GRC 10 doesn't have ability to transport changes for deletion in functions.
    Regards,
    Salman

    Dear Salman,
looks that the rules have been appended so it shows twice.
I suggest to download the correct rules from DEV and upload in PROD again. You can use program GRAC_UPLOAD_RULES to upload in PROD. Please make sure you set the option to overwrite, and not append.
With GRAC_RULE_DELETE you can also delete the rules before you upload (not necessary, but possible).
    Hope this helps.

    Alessandro

  • How bapi different from session and call transaction?

how bapi different from session and call transaction?
    thanks in advance.

For one, Batch Data Communication (BDC) is older. Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) came later, about 10 years ago (you can see this already from the name, which contains marketese like "business" ).
More important though, they are different technologies. With BDC you build the "batch input transaction" yourself, with an ABAP program which creates the "batch input session" ("Batch-Input-Mappe" in german). You then take that session, like an object, and "run" it on a system (most of the time, this is done on a local system by the administrators, after it has been tested for correctness).
With BAPI, a system (local or remote) exposes its interface to you through some kind of Remote Function Call (RFC). Practically, it tells you: "What do you want to do? Insert that data into Materials Management? Here is the function and the the parameters you have to use for each record". You only work with the Interface - the exposed function. How this function works does not have to interest you. You don't have sessions to "run", you fire your function calls filled with data, one after another and you're done.
BAPI can be run remotely. With BDC, you probably have to call the administrators of the remote system and send them the session you created for them to run. With BDC you go through the whole transaction in one BDC session, with BAPI you may need more than one "BAPI calls" to do this.
With BAPI you don't fill obcure field names with values, you just fill the parameters. You can use a BAPI from inside your ABAP program to let a "business object" do some clearly defined work for you, then you can continue with your code doing other things. You don't do this with BDC. With BDC you write a dedicated program that creates the "session", which is then executed separately.
Batch Data Communication (BDC) is the oldest batch interfacing technique that SAP provided since the early versions of R/3. BDC is not a
typical integration tool, in the sense that, it can be only be used for uploading data into R/3 and so it is not bi-directional.
BDC works on the principle of simulating user input for transactional screen, via an ABAP program. Typically the input comes in the form of a flat file. The ABAP program reads this file and formats the input data screen by screen into an internal table (BDCDATA). The transaction is then started using this internal table as the input and executed in the background.
In Call Transaction, the transactions are triggered at the time of processing itself and so the ABAP program must do the error handling.
It can also be used for real-time interfaces and custom error handling & logging features. Whereas in Batch Input Sessions, the ABAP
program creates a session with all the transactional data, and this session can be viewed, scheduled and processed (using Transaction SM35) at a later time. The latter technique has a built-in error processing mechanism too.
Batch Input (BI) programs still use the classical BDC approach but doesnt require an ABAP program to be written to format the
BDCDATA. The user has to format the data using predefined structures and store it in a flat file. The BI program then reads this and
invokes the transaction mentioned in the header record of the file.
Direct Input (DI) programs work exactly similar to BI programs. But the only difference is, instead of processing screens they validate
fields and directly load the data into tables using standard function modules. For this reason, DI programs are much faster (RMDATIND - Material Master DI program works at least 5 times faster) than the BDC counterpart and so ideally suited for loading large volume data. DI programs are
not available for all application areas.
Business Add-In (BADI) are a new SAP enhancement technique based on ABAP Objects.
They can be inserted into the SAP System to accommodate user requirements too specific to be included in the standard delivery. Since specific industries often require special functions, SAP allows you to predefine these points in your software.
As with customer exits two different views are available:
In the definition view, an application programmer predefines exit points in a source that allow specific industry sectors, partners, and customers to attach additional software to standard SAP source code without having to modify the original object.
In the implementation view, the users of Business Add-Ins can customize the logic they need or use a standard logic if one is available.
In contrast to customer exits, Business Add-Ins no longer assume a two-level infrastructure (SAP and customer solutions), but instead allow for a multi-level system landscape (SAP, partner, and customer solutions, as well as country versions, industry solutions, and the like). Definitions and implementations of Business Add-Ins can be created at each level within such a system infrastructure.

  • Font differs from Linux and Windows ?

Hi, i just want to ask, are fonts different from windows and linux in applet. I use a standard courier font.
For example, if i make an applet with courier font texts in linux, and make the texts wrap themselves, they will run ok in linux. But if i run the compiled applet in windows, the wrapped text somewhow got truncated.
But if i compile the applet in windows, it will look ok in linux and windows.
I've tried replacing my courier fonts in my /usr/java/jdk/jre/lib/fonts/cour*.ttf with the cour*.ttf from c:\windows\fonts with no effects .. Applets compiled and run ok in linux doesnt work in windows. They must be compiled in windows to run ok in both.
    Why is that ?
Does the compilation use the fonts in the jdk lib or the system fonts ?
    I'm so confused T_T

How do I get Mac OS 10.4.4 and Word X for Mac to see
all the characters in the Word for PC document
    formatted in Times New Roman?
There's no way with Office X, which can't do Unicode Greek. You need to upgrade to Office 2004 which is Unicode-savvy and installs in your Mac the same Times New Roman with Greek, Cyrillic, Hebrew, and Arabic which is used by WinXP. An alternative might be AbiWord or NeoOffice/J.

I brought a new ipad mini with retina. The color saturation is too low to me, especially the purple. My wife started to complain because the color is really different from inphone and ipad. Can user adjust that?

Other than a couple of minor adjustments, such as the one that Diavonex suggested above, there is nothing that a user can do in settings to adjust color. There is no way to calibrate the color like you can do with a computer monitor.

  • Org.structure differs on dev and production

    Hi,
I'm developing a workflow and in one of the steps (activity step), I assign agent using organizational structure (position from HR). The problem is, that the org.structure differs on dev system and on production system. Mainly the IDs of position posts differ. How to solve this? Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Tomas

    >
    Tomas Linhart wrote:
    > thanks for answer, I guess that's the best way of handling such situation. I'm going to creat custom table holding position used in workflow mapped to real position ID from org.structure. Or more generally, holding WF post mapped to org.structure type (position, job, ...) with corresponding ID in org.
I don't see why you need a custom table?
The org issues aside, all that is needed is to assign your org unit to the task. Then leave the agent assignment blank in your WF. Job done.
The other option is to create a dummy rule, which you thought was to be avoided. I don't agree, it takes 5 minutes, less effort than a table, less non-standard stuff ==> less explaining to people how to maintain & easier to troubleshoot.
Edit: Forgot to answer your other question
    > I'm not sure if you consider org. replication the same as transport of org. I was thinking of transport myself, just didn't know the way how to. I've found transaction RE_RHMOVE30 (also acessible from customizing), that should do that, but am not sure, if that's the right one and/or what options to select when transporting. Also, I'm not sure if this would ensure the position/job IDs are the same on both systems.
Replication would be carried out via transports. The RHMOVE* reports can also be used, or you could even set up an ALE connection between DEV and PRD. However I still would not recommend it. The development system is where you would need to create test users and/or org units. The other alternative is to have a master data client. All of these are a great deal of work which only make sense in certain types of environments - certainly not for the sake of a workflow.

  • Xml schema different between Dev and QA

The XML schemas are different between our DEV and QA systems after applying XI stack 13/SRM stack 10. It may be that they were different before applying the stacks but it has only been spotted in testing. We need to find out why before we live with the SP stack into production.
We have re-applied the XI content tpz files to both the DEV and QA servers and can't see any differences between in the design time repository apart from between the generated XML schemas:
A simple example of the difference is included below. The difference
only seem to be in the SRM Server 5.5 content and seems to be to do with the hierarchies in the header declaration with xmlns:p0="http://sap.com/xi/SRM/Basis/Global" being in a different position in Dev than in QA. I have raised an OSS message but have been waiting for 2 1/2 days now for a response and we are due to go live with the patching in a weeks time. Like I have mentioned in my reply yesterday to your another post, I am very positive that the role you are looking at in your QA system is the role "Accessible Content Administration".
Please verify your role assignment and make sure that you have the correct roles assigned.

  • Organization unit ID is different in Dev and Quality Systems

    Hi Experts,
We have downloaded the Organizational Structure from ECC in the Dev System, Sales organizations, Sales offices and sales groups were created with number range Assigned to Current Active Plan version. but the number for the Sales orgs started with 50000026 instead of starting with 50000001. And in the Quality again  we have downloaded the Org. structure from ECC, now the IDs were created starting from 50000007. this causing the inconsistencies in the Qualtiy System like, Pricing procedures are not getting determined.
why the Ids were created from 50000026 instead of 50000001.
What are best practices to have the same ID for Organizational Units in both the Systems?
    Thanks and Regards,
    S Reddy

    Hi Kiran,
    thanks for responses,
Now we are planning to delete the Org. Structure in Quality and planning transport if from Development. What is best approach to save the Org. model in Transport request and move to Quality. I came to know about the report RHMOVE30, will it be used for transporting from Dev to Quality?
One more thing, if we transfer the Org data to Quality will it take the same no. in Quality. I have doubt, If Dev Org Id were created from 50000026 and Quality it will start from 50000000.
    Kindly help me,
    thanks and Regards,

    Sap Gurus,
Is there any automated way to delete the users from development and testing once it is has been deleted from production. i.e. when the administrator deletes the user from production after logging in then it should automatically delete the users from testing and development without logging on in these 2 systems (development and testing). Can anyone help me in resolving this issue.
I am very much thankful in advance..

    Rob,
Ok, you are right in that way I can allow only that person but I have to allow 2 persons at this time. i.e. If at all I have to allow one more person also how should I do it, and also what if the person uses different passwords in development and testing?
    Thanks for your response Rob.

    Welcome to the forum.
Please edit your post and use the {noformat}{noformat} tag, so your examples will stay formatted and indented.
Put the tag before and after all text you want to stay formatted.
{noformat}..{noformat} - Displays everything between the tags as programming code.
The query on PROD is doing lots more of reads/processing much more rows then on DEV.
    For example, take table CONTACT_TRANS:

    vs
    more than 2,300,000 on PROD.

  • Output differs from Printpreview and Spool ?

    Hello All,
Let me tell u my actual problem.
    1. When I see the output of the PO in the Print Preview it's coming perfectly.
But when I see the output of the same PO in the Spool it's not the same.
    2. For this reason I want to Debug the PO in both the cases i.e Print Preview case and Spool Case.
    3. When I'm trying to debug in the Print Preview case it's going into the script and I'm able to check the values. But that'S not my Problem .
My Problem is with the Spool case bcoz I'm getting a different output when compared to that of the Print Preview Output.
    4. SO I want to debug the script whn I choose the Spool Option .
i.e Path is : ME22N --> GIve a PO --> Click on Messages Tab --> Select any of the Processed Record and Press Repeat output and --> SAVE.
Before pressing the SAVE Button I pressed /h and started to debug .
But It's not going into the script at all.Instead it is going to some other standard program and creating a spool request.
    5. My first Qn is : When viewed from the Spool will it go into the script or not ?
My second Qn is : Hw to debug the script when we are seeing the output from a SPOOL i.e from the Path :
ME22N --> GIve a PO --> Click on Messages Tab --> Select any of the Processed Record and Press Repeat output and --> SAVE.
Hope I'm clear now in my Explanation.
    Regards,
    Deepu.K

It seems to be an issue with the Output Device. For the Spool, try to print on a different printer/ or the default SAP output device (SAPWIN device type).
If the output comes correctly, then the issue is with the Driver.

  • SOAP Data source Function module table structure different from Dev to QA

    Hi All,

  • How to create a constant that differs from Dev to Test to Prod

    Hello,
I am customizing our CRM PCUI application (5.0 CRM under 7.0 EP and NW 2004s).
In one of the tabs, we call a BW webquery.
Obviously, the URL cannot be hardcoded in the ABAP controller class, but must be declared somewhere else, so that the Sys Adms may change it whenever needed, in any environment.
I have read there is, in the Customizing, an Information System - Variables section that lets  you do this, but this is NOT present in our system! In my Information SystemS section (I do not have an Information System without the "S"), we  have: Logistics, Administration... but no variables section! Does that correspond to a transaction?
Is there any other flexible way to declare global (cross - Class) constants in the ABAP environment?
Thanks and... points awarded to the brave ones
    Riccardo

    HI,
In your application check for the system id. and hardcode accordingly.
    if sy-sysid = 'DEV'
      url = development
    elseif sy-sysid = 'QA'
    endif.

  • System Properties user.timzone different between dev. and prod. system

    Hi all,
I am facing the following issue:
    In our development system I get in http://<server:port>/sap/monitoring/SystemProperties -> dispatcher -> system properties a Europe/Berlin for user.timezone.
In our productive system I get in http://<server:port>/sap/monitoring/SystemProperties -> dispatcher -> system properties a GMT for user.timezone.
Can anybody explain which system property is requested by the J2EE-engine when calling this property?
I ask, because I wrote a small programm requesting the user.property via java (expecting j2ee-engine would do that too) an got back an empty string (on both systems).
So, how/where can I change the parameter, so that the development system uses GMT, too?
I already checked the spro settings in sap, they are identical. System -> status showes the same for both systems, too.
    I hope for your help.
    Thanks and regards
