Old 2500 box and slow navigation

does anyone know what it takes to have new boxes sent to replace 6 year old qip2500 boxes we've had since we signed up? using the guide and any navigation is basically a one second or so delay between press and response from the system..
do they send boxes out to replace old equipment? i read this in another post

how do we go about getting free replacements if they never respond when we fill out the form asking for them? I can't call without being able to use a telephone.. i don't get why it's so hard to ask for them in the form and have them sent.. i just went through all the generic fixes with a tech person (resetting router etc..), but this isn't the problem.. i have old boxes that need to be updated to function correctly. He told me he could forward me to billing and that there might be a charge for them. Why should I have to pay because their equipment isn't giving me proper service? This slow guide is enough for me to cancel my service period.

2500 box shuts off about 4 times per week when i try to sign into the Facebook widget

basically what the title says.. I have the old 2500 boxes (and slow guide navigation issues as well).. but another problem I face is that I use the Facebook widget daily to look at my photo albums.. but about 4 times or so per week, upon clicking the Facebook widget, my box will turn itself off and go through the initial download all over again, which takes about two minutes.. more frustrating is that this resets my Facebook login so I have to log in again, which takes another few minutes.. anyone have this happen to them?

Oh I do so very wish that I could provide you with a detailed sequence of navigation that would repeat the box reboot ‘X’ many times out of 100. That would be awesome. Unfortunately that’s not usually my goal as a TV addict. I am usually looking to forget my troubles, not go looking for more. What I can tell you is this: box reboots can happen at any time of day or night. They can be caused by the type of activity I am doing or they can happen when I’m doing nothing at all. They can be generated from your end, my end, or happen seemingly spontaneously. And because no error messages are displayed either before or after, I have no idea what just happened.
As far as the ones that I have been able to reproduce, these happen mostly when I am using the search feature or the On Demand menus. Sometimes they happen while I am scrolling. But the most reproducible are usually when I use the OK button to select a program for its information page. I press OK, the box goes “click”. After the reboot, I remember what program I wanted to see, navigate all the way back to it, press OK and the box goes “click”. At this point I have to be a real meathead or glutton for punishment to go back again. But I have just to see what would happen. And what happened was “click”. I’m not sure I’ve ever gone back more than a third time. Or if I did, it was working by then.
So, was it a certain combination of buttons? Was it some bad code? Was it the gremlins that live inside the mysterious black box? (I hate those little guys. And yes, they do multiply when you get them wet.) I don’t have a clue. It’s irritating. I live with it. Life goes on.
Ideally, you would have a software program installed on the boxes that logs the last ‘X’ many commands given by the user and the last menus or options accessed before a crash. A sort of black box for the black box. Then after a reboot, an error report containing this information would be uploaded to a central server that would in turn have a program to analyze these reports for similarities and notify you when it finds them. Perhaps something you might want to suggest to your developers while they are working on the next generation of devices.
Now, if you want to pay me for my time and effort, I’d be more than happy to troubleshoot and log. I already have a half-dozen issues with STB/DVR malfunctions and limited functionality that I haven’t taken the time to write out and post to the Idea board yet. For starters, you are telling avemaria92 that she can “change an option to remember the last guide setting”. While this is true, the last viewed guide state is forgotten every time the box gets rebooted, and the guide reverts back to “All Channels”. If she is having an issue with her box getting rebooted all the time, telling her that this will fix her issue might not be the best idea, as it will only last till the next reboot. This problem also used to happen to the channel change mode as well. But a recent update made this setting persistent beyond the reboot. Wherever this setting is now saved, you need to put the guide setting right with it so that it remains persistent after a reboot as well.

New vs old Youview box picture

I am now in possession of a new and old youview box and have noticed that the new little box BT now supplies seems to deliver a less crystal clear picture than the older Humax branded youview box.
Anyone else notice this downgrade in service?

No. I have both the boxes and the new one produces pictures at least as good as the older box.

Solution to slow navigation Motorola QIP 2500-P3

Have you been having slow navigation with the old sd stb Motorola QIP 2500-P3
I have found that if you connect the stb via video cable instead of rf cable the speed improves dramatically, still not perfect but much better than connecting via cable connection.Try it you should see an improvement.

No, apparently not all of them are aware of this problem since the tech that I talked to actually shipped me a replacement box after being online with me for over an hour troubleshooting. Truth be told, I knew changing the connection method to the TV wouldn't make a difference, but I was willing to try anything at that point. I already have the HD boxes for the living room, basement, etc. and even those boxes have been slow to respond and freeze up lately. That seems intermittent though and a power cycle always fixes that. Annoying as hell, but at least there's a workaround. The SD box is always slow.
The "free" SD box is in my bedroom. I hardly use it, but it would still be nice if it worked properly.

Navigating dialog boxes is slow

Ever since upgrading to Mountain Lion, navigating within dialog boxes is VERY slow.
I'm talking about attempting to open files within applications, e.g. Word, Photoshop, Excel, etc; navigating within the dialog boxes produces blank folders where the files are located while the OS is busy trying to read what's in them, and sometimes it can take 2-3 mintues for the OS to recognize that files actually exist in these folders.
It's therefore taking me forever to get work done because it's almost as if the new OS doesn't allow applications to recognize files.... at least not right away; it takes several minutes for the OS/applications to "find" files in folders.
What's going on?

Sky+ HD box unresponsive, slow and sometimes just freezes requiring a reboot/power off

Hi, I have a standard Sky+ HD box which must be a few years old now with the following specs: Model Number: R010.070.87.00PVersion Number: 9730B3Manufacturer: Samsung Recently the box has become really slow to respond to the remote control when either watching recordings or just live TV. Also, frequently not responding at all after a period of time which resorts in a power down using the power off button and unplugging the mains, leaving for 30 seconds then plugging back in. this issue seems to happen most whilst watching recordings although it has happened whilst watching live TV also. I appear to be running the latest software so these issues really all point to the recent code update. I have also performed several planner rebuilds with no affect/improvement at all. I've checked the batteries in the remote, which are fine and new. The box is in a well ventilated cupboard, stood on chocks to allow airflow all around the box. I rang Sky from work to report the issue and get help but the engineer could not help me unless I was in the same room as the box, so this is my next step to call them whilst at home. I wonder whether I can push this issue and get another box or a newer 2TB box gratis rather than having to pay the £150 fee. this could be the tipping point to force me over to a different option such as Freesat or Nowtv etc This is so annoying and is going to make TV viewing over the christmas period a real pain for all the family. I'm getting the same problems with a Sky HD+ 1TB Amstrad DRX 895 - On power-up from cold it's OK, but the longer it's left on, even in standby, the slower it responds. Eventually it just hangs, and the problem is getting worse. I found that turning off HDMI Control in the Settings improved matter a bit (why does it default 'on'?), but that just delays the inevitable. At first I suspected a software problem, such as a memory leak that built up until it crashed the box, but the fact that it won't run properly after a reboot - even after powering off - unless it's left to cool down, suggests it's a hardware fault. Some previous Sky box models have had power supply problems when the box reaches a certain age - the capacitors start failing, causing the same kind of problems. I had such a box, and got a replacement power supply kit which fixed it. I think it's likely the newer boxes have this problem too - they're built with the cheapest components that don't last well. You might find the SatCure site can help - they have lists of repairers around the country who can fix Sky boxes or sell you DIY repair kits, or refurbished Sky boxes for less than a new one. I'm going to check out my local repairer.

Thank you for the help. Every app on my phone was downloaded using my old I-tunes ID. I just hope that they will re-download under my new ID because I still can't change it on my phone. In order to change to the new ID it says I have to sign out from the old ID and change to the new one. My problem is that I don't remember my password to be able to sign out from my old ID. Then the phone says it can change my password through e-mail and I agree but I never get an e-mail at my old address or the new one.

That changes things a little bit , login to icloud.com and see if you can find it in your sent folder.
If it is there you did send, just need to wait until you phone syncs "sent folder" perhaps on wifi.
If it is not, then I would say it is lost and you may have to send again. They have 20 megs limit, so make sure that message plus attachment is under that limit.

Of course it changed. A phone's IMEI number is unique to each phone. The IMEI number for a phone does not transfer to another phone.
Since your iPhone was exchanged under warranty without having the box and bill for the original purchase, you don't need it now either. The exchange under warranty remains under the warranty for the original purchase.

Normally you can find your serial registered to your AdobeId. To find it please login to the Adobe website and check if you did register it to your account.

In general you will go true a educational verification afterwards you get the serial. So its in your email or account. If you still have issues get in contact with the chat team to get help.

hello; i just erased the post i started with, because my status has changed. i searched in the firefox folder and found the uninstall folder, and this time, uninstall worked perfectly, and it gave me an option to save my personal info! YAY! i installed ff 3.6.24 without a hitch; FF is Baaaaaack!
However, I did get a window saying my computer doesn't have enough resources for the latest version of 8, but that I should install the latest compatible version of firefox; which version would that be, I wonder? It takes me to the same page with the ff 3.6.24 downloads. I already have that now.
I am going to mark this as solved; thank you cor-el for helping me with this problem and sticking with me as i whined and moaned, and tried to get the courage to "just do it!"

You could combine the content in one library on the Mac, but it could lead to a few problems, if you would take only one Apple ID (e.g. for App updates you would persistent have to sign/out, ...). So I would recommend to use different librarys unless you take one of your IDs for all future purchases. In this case it would make sense to combine everything in one library.
