Old 32 GB itouch broke, bought new 64 GB and now old audio books won't play

I broke the glass on my old 32 GB itouch and purchased a 64 GB replacement so I had more room for my stuff, some of the apps I needed to do my job and when I tried to use one of the apps to find the az and el for a satellite dish in the middle of the desert in Afghanistan it would not work... then I found none of my apps or audio books would work for me either... I paid for all of these apps and books so why can't I used them on my new ipod? Very disappointing.

Can't I remove authorization for all of my apps and audio books from the 32 GB itouch I own with the broken glass and authorize them on the new 64 GB itouch? I can't download all of that stuff here, the internet is slow and unreliable in the middle of the desert here in Afghanistan.

What do you mean by "won't play"?
Try deleting the song and downloading it again from the iTunes Store.

Bought new HD and now iTunes can't find my music

I just bought a new FW HD, WD My Passport. I copied all of my music from my old USB 2.0 HD to the new one and now iTunes can't find all the songs. It'll play probably 40 or 50 songs but the rest of them show the "!" next to the song name. Right now the only thing I can do to show iTunes where the songs are without having to rebuild my playlists is to manually point it to each individual song but since but that would mean pointing it to over 14,000 songs......... I DID go in to the preferences and changed the folder location to the new HD and it still won't find the files. But strangely enough, when I have the old HD plugged in, as well as the new one, it'll play everything just fine, checking the preferences shows that iTunes is pointed to the new folder but "Get Info" on individual tracks shows iTunes finding the file in the old HD, unplug old HD and files cannot be found. Why doesn't the **** program look where I want it to and what do I have to do to fix it? I know my description here isn't crystal clear so I'll gladly answer any question to help clear it up a little. ANY help is very much appreciated as I do not want to spend the next 3 weeks teaching iTunes one song at a time. Thank you.

For moving your iTunes library, I recommend this method...
Assuming you use the iTunes default settings where iTunes copied added items to your iTunes folder and organizes your library (meaning - everything is all self contained in the iTunes folder), then all you have to do is drag & drop your iTunes folder (not just the iTunes Music folder you find inside the iTunes folder) to the external drive and copy the entire thing.
If you want to test that it worked or would like to actually start using it from that location instead, use these instructions when you start iTunes to point it to the new location...

If you are just testing, then close iTunes after you verify it works, and restart iTunes again with the same instructions and point it back to your internal drive (original) location.

Downloaded 5.0 software and now my iPhone 4 won't play my downloaded music.

I downloaded the new iOS 5 software for my iPhone 4 and now the music that I have been listening to all along, which I previously downloaded from the internet, will no longer play. When I turn the song on it stays at 00:00.
My iPhone WILL however play music I have purchased on iTunes. So it will play .m4a files but not .mp3 files.
All of my updates are current incluing my iTunes version 10.5
I have flattened my phone and have tried re-adding the music back onto my phone, however it still will only read 'some' of my music.
What am I missing? Someone please help.

I have the same problem but when I go to itunes, it lists all the songs/albums and the artwork and if I go to play them it say that it cannot find the source files. I did not change anything else and now 5.0 cannot find the songs. It tries to download and when I sync, nothing actually syncs. Any suggestions. Thanks.

10.4.7 update and now my Address Book won't open

I recently ran a software update and the Mac OS X Update 10.4.7 errored out. After the required restart I now find my Address Book won't open.
Any advise to fix this problem?
Is it safe to run the 10.4.7 update again or will this problem repeat?

i would check out this thread. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1863756&#1863756 basically, try repairing permissions first. then if that does nothing, see if you have your addressbook.data file. it's possible you could rename a file like this user to regain your info. if the addressbook.data file is there, select it and get info on it by pressing the apple and i on the keyboard. ensure that you have read/write access to the folder. make yourself the owner and make the rest of the fields as open as possible. also, if the address book launches in a different user (you could create a test user) you could do a number of things. if you have a backup of the address book in another place you can try pulling the com.apple.addressbook.plist from the preferences folder in the home user library. do not do this if you have no backup. also you could check ~library/address book plug-ins. if there's stuff in there, try pulling folder to desktop and restarting the computer. keep me posted as to whether or not you make any progress. [ 8 ) ]

Not sure whether for instance you initially had a Yahoo optimised version of Firefox, and have now overwritten it with an official Mozilla version. Although the Mozilla version should NOT add unwanted features, but the Yahoo version may well do.
If you merely need to find the Yahoo emails page quickly just add it as a bookmark or as a bookmark on the Bookmarks toolbar and make sure that is visible.
Clicking the star icon on the location bar whilst looking at your emails will bookmark the page.

Windows Vista User upgraded to iTunes 7.7 and now MPEG-4 videos won't play

I'm a windows vista user, and I just updated to iTunes 7.7 with Quicktime.
Prior to the update all my videos & related codecs files worked just fine(e.g., MPEG-4 and H.264 codecs).
However, since the Quicktime & iTunes 7.7 update, now only videos coded as H.264 will play correctly and MPEG-4 video files only have sound but no video picture.
Any suggested on how to fix this issue is greatly appreciated.

I've upgraded to firefox 4/snow leopard and now my .avi's won't play using the quicktime plugin. What am I doing wrong?

I'm unable to play .avi's in Firefox 4 that worked fine in Firefox 3. I just get a blank page. I've also upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard (prior to upgrading Firefox) since the last time I viewed them.

I believe these were displayed using the quicktime plugin. Firefox reports my current quicktime plugin as version 7.6.6
I need to get this working because I'm giving a talk soon, and I've been using references in my talk pdf to link to the movies.

Just checked, and my movies play fine in Safari. Crud. I'd rather not have to switch to Safari as my default browser. Yuk.

Update: Turns out this is only a problem when the .avi is stored locally and served locally. I uploaded the file to a server and then pointed Firefox there. In that case it displays just fine. Weird.

Recently updated iTunes to 11.1.1.11 and now my Disney movies won't play - the audio keeps dropping out. Any help?

Never mind ... cleaned the cache, cleaned the disk, cleaned the Java cache - it works.

I've tried going through those steps prior to posting. This link that others and you have provided takes me to these instructions. There are no specific steps to uninstall and reinstall itunes. I did so anyway a couple times to see if anything changed. It did not. If I'm missing something, please let me know--it's really appreciated. I'm not using windows and it is my understanding that when you delete itunes (which I did through terminal) it deletes everything, so you don't have to go searching for random files as you would with Windows.

Have accidentally deleted video clips and now an iMovie project won't play (did initially after deletion but no longer). Is there any way to rectify this? I have a very upset daughter as the video was her holiday memories....

I have deleted the video clips used to make an iMovie project as I thought the bits usedt were saved as part of the iMovie project. Initially the project still played post deletion. However it is no longer working as it says it can't find the video clips. Is this rescuable?

There's no harm in looking inside the Trash folder.
When a file or folder is deleted, it is moved into the Trash folder to give you a chance to recover it if it was deleted by mistake. Of course that means Trash folder could grow large as time goes and more files are deleted.
You can recover your movies if they are still in the trash.
You should also empty the trash if you think you don't need the files in it to free up disk space.

Welcome to the Apple community.
You cannot download a backup from iCloud, the only way to access it is to restore to the backup with your new phone, which you should have done when you first connected it. If you restore now, you will lose all the new information you have added to your new phone.
