Old 5d or new Rebel? Help Please!

Hi!
Lately I have been doing some research and questioning if I should sell my old 5d in exchange for a new Rebel (maybe the t5i?). I take a lot of animal shelter photos, as well as travel/landscape/touristy photos. I played with the t5i the other night and it just seems so much faster and the images seemed to be very crisp and clear (on the LCD). I just don't know if that is a crazy idea. I haven't been in the freelance game in quite a few years so I'm a bit out of the loop when it comes to what the better camera is at this time. I cannot afford another 5d to upgrade to the mark iv, iii or ii.
I was hoping you all could give me some opinions.

Your video is encoded in a format that PS doesn't understand. It's as easy as that. AVIs are just containers that can contain a multitude of different CoDecs and settings. You will have to do some reading up on that matter and then use external programs like VirtualDub, MPEGStreamclip and otehrs to convert your file to something PS understands - if that realyl is what you need. Otehrwise simply move on to "real" video editing apps that can handle all that much better.

Welcome to the Apple community.
You can't link your Apple IDs, all you need to do is use the same ID on all devices and your contacts etc will sync.

okay so i have logic pro 9 and i'm trying to play and record some stuff that i play through my keyboard (korg n364 connected through MIDI USB cable). i see the signals coming through into logic but i cant hear anything. i want to know how i can do what i do in garage band being able to play something in garage band through my keyboard. any help please?

Are you using sounds from the Korg (in which case you need to connect the audio outputs from the Korg into your audio interface and put Logic in record on an Audio track) or sounds from one of Logic's software instruments (in which case you need to record the MIDI on an Instrument track to trigger the selected instrument)?

I have an old hard drive from a ruined computer attached to my new one but i cant find my old bookmarks which i want to install on the new machine. help please!

my old computer was running vista, and i had hundreds of bookmarks in many folders, but i cant find these when exploring the old drive. I presume i cant use the import facility as i wouldnt be able to access the firefox browser itself on the old drive, but i was hoping the bookmarks would be stored somewhere accessible

thanks for the suggestions weather15 - the firefox help site you directed me to explains what ought to happen but i cant make it work. I shut my firefox browser on my new machine and attach the hard drive from my old machine. I can explore the contents of that drive but when i search it for the suggested folder " %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\" nothing is found. when i try and open firefox from the old drive, the browser opens that is the new version that i have on my new computer with no saved bookmarks! Am I doing everything right?

The link should work, whichever (non) compatibility. I will report the failure of that Adobe page. It ought to work, for those still using/needing it.
Is downgrading the OS an option?

1) Do you mean that you insert HTML into a snippet box?. If so, delete the box and republish.
2) If you are publishing to the Apple server then the page URLs are different. iWeb '06 publish to Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites/iWeb folder and iWeb '08 publishes to Finder/Go/iDisk/My iDisk/Web/Sites. The old URL will have iWeb in it and this needs to be cut.
30 iWeb '08 stores your movies in the "Media" folder. Make sure you have uploaded it.

Okay I tried to use my usb and it was good and I put the music on there and
then I plugged it in my new computer and I dragged it from the usb to iTunes
and then it was playing and fine THEN I un plug the usb and I click on a song
and it says It cant find the file....

Reconnect the USB drive and organize the library from within iTunes. To prevent this happening again, either drag the library to the internal drive or set iTunes to automatically copy the files to the iTunes Media folder.

You don't need the old computer to restore the iPod, connect it to the Mac you can restore it in iTunes there. (By the way, you don't need to restore simply to use it on a Mac since Macs can read Windows formatting.)
Connect your iPod to the Mac, when it appears in iTunes click on it's icon to display the preference tabs. In the Summary tab click on Restore. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists uncheck the box beside the sync automatically instruction and press Done, it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

Give me a simply way to transfer my ITunes from old Mac to new Mac. PLEASE!

I have a new MacBook Pro and want to transfer my iTunes from my old, but still functional eMac. I have my iTunes folder backed up to an external drive. My songs are a mixture of uploaded CDs and iTunes Store purchases.
I need a straightforward way of doing this. I have searched previous posts, but haven't found any to point me in the right direction.
Question: Do I need to first de-authorize the old eMaC? And then authorize the new Macbook before I begin any transfer?
Will it be easier to transfer from the external hard drive?
And, I assume, when I connect the external drive to the MacBook with Firewire, I just drag over the iTunes folder and drop it where?
Thanks for any help; the last thing I want to do is spend the next month posting questions on how to clean up a mess from one of my ham-handed moves.

you should authorize your MB before you begin. you can deauthorize the eMac later (unless you have already reached the limit of 5 authorized machines).

assuming that the entire iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music folder) is on the external, just drag the folder to <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/music on the MacBook. this will overwrite the iTunes folder (probably devoid of content) in that location.
when the move's done, firing up iTunes should take you to the library you were used to from the eMac.
Another question: Do I need to consolidate the iTunes Library before I do anything? I am not sure what consolidation does, but I remember reading about it.
when consolidating your library, iTunes will copy all files it knows of to the location you have designated in preferences > advanced > iTunes media folder location. for example, if you have spread content over a couple of smaller HD's and now want to combine all of it on one big drive, you would consolidate your library.
if all your media files are on the external already, you don't need to consolidate.

Need to buy CS5 Design Standard, New Laptop-Help Please

My wife is a student taking a graphics class a and she must buy CS5 Design Standard (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat). Her computer just broke down and we need to replace it right away but we are on a tight budget. Can we get by with a budget type laptop with modest graphic support (maybe 500-600 dollars) or do we need a high powered, big dollar laptop to run the CS5 Software?
