OLD ADOBE PHOTOSHOP...HELP!

Hi how can I get all of my pix out of the old ADOBE photoshop as they are no longer permitting usage. They say we need to upgrade. How do I do this and which is the best product to do? How do we get all of our pix out and into new software program???

I have cds with pdd pics from my old (1999) Adobe Photoshop program. My system won't open them. I now have Photoshop Elements 8. I can go to Organize and get photos from the cd. They are in my catalog and I can open them there.
How do I convert them to jpeg?
When I go to Edit, I can't find my photos in the catalog. I only find the new pics in my Photo Gallery that are already jpeg.
I feel as though I'm missing something simple. Can someone help me?

This seems to be exactly what you want.
Since they have a separate "download" and "purchase" section, it's not clear to me if you have to pay the $49 license fee to use the utility. You may have to purchase the license to get batch processing.
Even if you do have to pay, my philosophy in life is that if someone can rescue some important pictures with their $49 utility, then it's worth the price.

Old Adobe photoshop

Hi I have used the old adobe photoshop for several years and now it has been discontinued. I open and look at pix in the photo well but cannot access them. I am told have to use PSE...but, how can I can all of my pix from 04 over to PSE safely and securely??? Also, some pix still show the flower symbol instead of the actual pix. As has been pointed out, the Adobe Photoshop Forum is NOT staffed by Adobe employees (though a few engineers DO stop by, when they have the time), and we are but users, such as yourself. The difference is that many users here have decades of experience with Ps, and can often solve all sorts of issues, of a technical nature.

How to download 'old' Adobe Photoshop (PSE11)?

My Macbook's hard drive died. Although I managed to recover the data I have to re-install the software. Where can I find the link to download Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 and Adobe Premiere Elements 11? I have only seen links to the latest versions (12). Also, do I need (and is there a way) to de-activate the copies that were on my old hard drive? Thanks!

I can't download my old Adobe Photoshop CS4, "The Installer Database is corrupt"

I've recently bought a new laptop and I'm trying to install my Photoshop CS4 that I purchased years ago.
I've tried both the Akamai Downloader and the files from here: Download CS4 products
Both result in an error that says "The Installer Database is corrupt. Please contact Adobe Customer Service."
What can I do? I spent money on this program and I have the serial number listed in my Adobe account.

Installing Adobe Photoshop 2.0

My old Adobe Photoshop 2.0 will not install on OSX 10.5.2. It keeps telling me I do not have Administrative privileges, when I am logged in on an administrative account. The installation doc on the Photoshop says to go to System Preferences and select OS 9 as the boot volume for the install but there is no OS 9 on 10.5.2. Is there any way I can get my software to install and install completely?

For the sake of thoroughness I did log is as root and tried. I got the same message, I must be logged in as Administrator. Then I discovered Software Restore in the Utilities folder. I tried it and installed the Classic Environment from my system X.3. disks. I again tried the installation. No luck. Clearly I have no other solution than to buy new software. Just thought I would let you know. As Barbara told me, I would have been the first person to get Photoshop Elements 2.0 to work on X.5. . Thank you again for your suggestions.

Old Serial # not working to re-install Adobe Photoshop CS2 on different computer

Having a problem installing my copy of Adobe Photoshop CS2 - I have the CDs and I have the serial # from the installation on the old computer, but when I enter the information on the new computer, it tells me it is an invalid serial number. The old computer is a Windows 2000 computer and is running version 9.02. Please provide any assistance you can, as I would like to move the program to my new computer. Thanks! Bob

I was able to login to the Adobe Licensing website (https://www.licensing.adobe.com) as I found an older user ID from the paperwork when we first bought the product in 2005. I was able to bring up the End User ID, which gave me the 24 digit serial number needed to install on the newer computer. The older computer only had 20 digits listed on the software for security purposes, so I needed 4 more digits. Once I got the right serial number, I was able to properly install the Adobe Photoshop CS2. Thanks to Jeff A. Wright for his help!

PSE 9 only works with old AIR version on Win 7 x64. Adobe please help.

I'm hoping that Adobe can jump in and help here as there are some real versioning issues with the components that PSE 9 uses. I've made a number of posts in the Adobe AIR forum (while I was figuring this out) and have exchanged with Adobe resources regarding my problems with Adobe AIR on Win 7 x64. They are still looking into it.
PSE 9.0 comes with
   Adobe AIR 1.5.3.9130,
     Adobe Community Help 3.2.1.650 (an AIR app), and
     Adobe Photoshop.com Inspiration Browser 3.07 (an AIR app)
That Adobe AIR 1.5.3.9130 is an old version of AIR. Since then there have been production releases 2.0.2, 2.0.3, and the latest 2.0.4. If you upgrade to ANY of those Adobe AIR 2.x versions on your Win 7 x64 system, ALL your Adobe AIR apps will stop working.
Adobe Community Help 3.2.1.650 is an out-of-date version and it continually nags you to update to the newer version. If you do that, the install will first upgrade Adobe AIR to 2.0.4 and then upgrade Help. Help will no longer work and all Adobe AIR apps will not work.
I have installed and uninstalled PSE 9 about 25 times, I have installed and ununinstalled different versions of AIR over 50 times, etc. etc. to come to these conclusions. I have tested Adobe AIR 2.0.2, 2.0.3 and 2.0.4 and NONE of them work on Win 7 x64.
I'd really like someone from the Adobe PSE team to look into this. I don't have time to spend hours on the phone with support. I have described the problem and can offer more details as necessary.

Thanks you for confirming that you do not see any errors after installing the updates. Also that Adobe Help and Inspiration Browser both work after updating AIR to 2.0.4.
I will answer your questions for now though:

     Yes, I have done all of these combinations a few times without success.

Move photos from old PC running Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 starter edition, to new PC running Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.

My old PC (Windows XP) has 8500+ photos with loads of tags attached using Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 starter edition.
I'm trying to move all photos, and tags, to my new PC (Windows 7) . I have installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 on my new PC.
All photos have been copied from the hard disk on the old PC to the hard disk on the new PC.
But how do I move the database/tag information between the old and new PC / between' Photoshop Album 2.0 starter edition' and 'Photoshop Elements 8'?
All help is highly appreciated, as I really don't want to add all this valuable tag information manually...

All tags are correct, but PSE automatically reconnected only approx 5000 of the approx 8500 pictures (the picture directory has been changed)

everytime i start cs4, it says "adobe photoshop cs4 now includes graphics card acceleration. we recomend you vist your video card manufacturers website and download and install latest drives.
I am running vista 64 bit and a ati radeon hd 4800 series card "4870 to be exact" and under properties it is 8.612.0.0, but when i follow the adobe link and it brings me to the site it has version 9.5?? i clicked update driver and it says its upto date, is this a problem, and why does it show this everytime photoshop starts?

Go to this site and download the 9.9 driver set. The 9.5 driver set had a streaming problem that had to be fixed with a hotfix. I have the 4870 also and the 9.9 drivers are stable and have no issues with PS CS4 on vista 64 bit.

Sometimes it is better not to change drivers if you don't have issues. But the 9.5 set has issues.
Make sure you un-install the old drivers. When you click on the Icon and start the install it will unpack as normal but you will come upon a screen to install or uninstall. Choose uninstall to remove the old driver package. Reboot. Then click on the icon again, it will unpack and you will get the screen again so choose install. Reboot after install.
If I remember correctly the 9.5 drivers, after install, did not show the reboot screen. You still have to reboot.

Adobe Photoshop Scratch Disk Full/Startup Disk Full error - PLEASE HELP

Dear ALL,
I have started to notice recently that when I run Photoshop CS on my Mac OSX Tiger, I am getting the Startup Disk Full error message. Never happended before.
Since my initial post I downloaded Macaroni (utility) and have run the daily/weekly/monthly backups, checked the /private/var/vm and /private/var/log and /Volumes. Nothing unusual there...
When I started getting this error I had 32GB left on a looked at my HD and I seem to have 32GB available on a 152GB drive. Now after deleting I have 76GB capacity left.
But when I tried to open a Photoshop PSD or TIFF file and do a crop I still get tge Startup Disk is Full error followed by the Adobe Photoshop error Scratch Disk is Full.
I am thinking of running the Disk Utility from the Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility and doing a Verify Disk and Verify Disk Permissions followed by Repair Disk Permissions. I will be logged into the machine whilst doing this. Is there any danger in this as I have read elsewhere that I need to do this from a bootable volume. If that is the case how do I create a bootable disk/cd? If not then what is the cure to my Disk Full as surely there is now nearly 50% FREE!!!!!

PS will always use the boot disk for scratch to some extent even with an alternate primary scratch disk.
Be sure to turn off Spotlight as it causes problems.
4GB of RAM would be nice, I understand small files don't work well if there is more than 4GB RAM but large files will. OS X uses free RAM as cache and RAM disk before using disk drives.
How much RAM is allocated to PS? More RAM would help.
A dedicated lean boot drive helps. Install just what is needed for your work, use a separate drive for data, and yet another RAID volume for scratch.
When in doubt, backup with SuperDuper, and do an erase and then restore. Always backup before repairing; and never, ever, use an old version of Tiger CD/DVD - like 10.4.2 on 10.4.7/.8. Use "fsck" instead, or your emergency boot drive.
Also, give Applejack a shot and delete the cache folders and swap files from time to time to keep a system humming. CS/CS2 and Tiger benefit nicely from more RAM.
