Old apple id keeps popping up on iphone

I changed my email address for my appleID but in my Iphone 5 the old email address keeps popping up wanting me to put my password in.  I have changed the address in every app and setting I can think of / find.  Any suggestions?

Help! my hotmail acct that i used when i first puchased my iphone4g was hacked. so i cancled account and now have yahoo. everything on iphone was changed. only problem is trying to update facebook or my 2 other apps i have on my phone. I keeps bringing up hotmail account and asking for pw. even when entering pw it tells me it is incorrect. if i click on itunes and app's my apple id is the correct one. its really annoying because i constantly have the #3 sitting there always reminding me that they needed to be updated. If this will constanly pop up when i try to update these apps, should i just try deleting app then dl again. or just take it to apple to let them figure it out??

  • After I updated my iPhone with IOS 6.1 my old Apple ID keeps popping up on my iPhone for me to type in the password that I no longer know. On the Apple site the Manage my Apple ID says my old Apple ID could not be found. How do I get this to stop?

I just updated my iPhone with the newest update IOS 6.1. My old Apple ID keeps popping up on my iPhone for me to type in the password that I no longer know. All the passwords I type in do not work. I no longer have access to this email which is my old Apple ID. After installing the newest software update my old Apple ID came up to finish configuring. Since I no longer have access to this Apple ID and email account and after trying some passwords I skipped the step. It then said FaceTime, iCloud (which I do not use), and more may not work. I clicked that it was OK since I could not remember the password to my old Apple ID. I then went to my settings to be sure my newer email was my Apple ID by typing in my current Apple ID and password.  Also, I went to Manage my Apple ID online and my old Apple ID could not be found. Is it OK I skipped that step in the IOS 6.1 configuration? How do I get my old Apple ID to stop popping up?

It sounds like you restored from an old back-up.  Did you back-up just before your software update?  It will use your last one and if your last back-up was a ywear old then it will use that one.
In general, if you are getting these messages on your iPhones select logout (when you get that Apple Id request) and then log back in with your newer ID.
    Sorry for your losses.
    Cheers

  • My old Apple ID keeps popping up

My old Apple ID keeps popping up, and when I check it through apple login it is not found how do I get rid of it

Did you rename your old Apple ID to your new one (preferred) so the old one doesn't exist anymore?
Apple ID: Changing the email address you use for your Apple ID
or did you create a new Apple ID?
Where does it show up?  If it's when you update Apps and you purchased Apps with the old ID, then yes, those earlier Apps are linked to the old Apple ID (another reason to rename one rather than creating a new one).
Have you signed out of the various Apple Stores from the old ID and signed in again with the new one?
Although you may be able to rename an older Apple ID, you can't delete or merge them, so if you have two or more, it's best to settle on one (especially for purchases) and either not use the others or use them for iCloud etc.
Check out Apple ID Support, which has lots of links and info.

An old Apple ID keeps popping up and asking for password; how do I get rid of it?

Here is what I did to fix it on Win 7 64-bit system:
    Computer > C: > Program Files
    Delete the Oberon Games File
If you have a Program Files (x86), delete it there, too.
    Reboot.

  • So, my girlfriends old apple ID keeps popping up asking for the password. I have changed my apple ID and my Itunes ID and it still pops up. what do I do?I cant download some of my apps because of it

so, my girlfriends old apple ID keeps popping up asking for the password. I have changed my apple ID and my Itunes ID and it still pops up. what do I do?I cant download some of my apps because of it

If you have any apps downloaded with the other AppleID, those apps
will ask for the other AppleID to update.
Downloads are forever tied to the AppleID used to download them.
Delete the apps associated with the unwanted ID and download them
under your ID. You will have to purchase apps that are not free.
You cannot transfer apps from one Apple ID to another, not can you
    merge 2 Apple IDs.

  • Old apple account keeps popping up

an old apple account keeps popping up, when I want to download a new app.
i tried to reset the ipad, but that didn't work.  i'm needing the pop up to reflect
my account.  help is very much appreciated !!!!  thanx michelle

Yes, we have been able in the past.  And yes I have restored to factory settings, it now accepts the new apple account but the pop up still points to old account.
You see  I bought the ipad for my hubby and set it all up for him.  Then last year I changed email accounts, and told him that now is the time for him to create his new apple account with his own password etc... He never did this and now a year later, here I am trying to fix his ipad because he finaly seeked help.  I created a new apple account, with of course a new pw, the ipad recognizes this but the pop up reflects the old account.  The pop up reflects the old apple account and password and sends email to old email account.  Last night I called the old email provider and I can have the old email reactivated for a fee of course.  I think that I will go that route since there doesn't seem to be a solution for this.  I have found many others who have had and still have this same problem.  Definately something that needs to be looked at by Apple, we need to be able to update the pop up, I have read about people purchasing old ipads etc.... and cannot remove the previous owners off the pop up.  THANX for your help, I really appreciate your efforts!  michelle

  • Old apple ID keeps popping up on ipad

recently changed my Apple ID and password yet the old Apple ID still pops up on my ipad. I simply hit cancel and it will go away but how can this be corrected so it does not continue to pop up? The correct ID and password were put on the ipad and I am able to use these new identifiers.

I am having the same problem. The very first time I looked at the Apple store I had to create an ID. I used my email address and created a password . That all worked fine but the email address I originally used has since been cancelled as it was one I had to pay for. So I've been into Manage your Apple ID and added my new email address and I've created a new password , however , every time I go to the Apple Store to try and purchase an App , my old email address pops up in the Apple ID. Is there anyway I can delete that email address from my account? I don't know where to go to delete it? Please help!

  • Old Apple ID Keeps Popping Up (iCloud?)

    Hello everybody.
Over Christmas I got a new iPad. However, I encountered a problem with it.
However, when I use it, my iPad keeps trying me to enter the password of my AppleID. However, the problem is that it's using my old AppleID (I reassociated my AppleID with a different account). I'm already signed in with my modern AppleID too on the device.
My guess is that is has something to do with iCloud, but I'm not sure. How shall I wipe away the existence of the old email associated with my Apple account?

    Hello RadioactiveLog,
Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.  It sounds like you are repeatedly being prompted to enter your password for an old Apple ID, and you think it might be the iCloud settings but are not sure.  I found an article with steps for signing out of iCloud on your iPad:
    Turn off iCloud completely
On your iOS device’s Home screen, tap Settings > iCloud, then at the bottom of the screen, tap Delete Account.
Note:   If you delete your iCloud account, iCloud will no longer back up your iOS data. You can still back up your device in iTunes (for more information, open iTunes and choose iTunes > Help).
You can find the full article here:
    iCloud: Change iCloud feature settings
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2613
You can also change what Apple ID is signed into the iTunes Store by following the steps in the following article:

    I hope this helps!

  • Old apple id keeps popping up when i try to update/download apps

I don't use the old apple id anymore because i don't remember the password so I made a new account, but when I try to update/download apps, it asks me for my old account information even though the ipad is connected to my new account. How do I get rid of this and make it so that it stops asking for the old account information and just use my new one?

I bought a used iphone can someone tell me how to change the apple id on phone please. Thank You!
Here is a thread about someone who'd bought a used iPhone tied to a former owners Apple ID.
Perhaps something there may be of help. There is a safeguard idea behind an owner and their
Apple ID, and most sellers would ready their product for re-sale, and remove their Apple ID as
well as any other account or purchased apps, that are not transferable to some other person.
    Good luck in this matter!

  • My old Apple ID keeps popping up can't update

Hi I can't update my apps as my old email address got hacked , I created a new Apple ID but when I try to update the apps on my ipad I tasks for my old Apple ID and email , I can't get into my old email as it was hacked what can I do pls

If you create a totally new Apple ID, that is not the same thing as changing the old Apple ID.
Apps and all purchased content is forever tied to the Apple ID that was used to make those purchases. You will always have to use the old ID and password in order to update the apps. If you chnge the Apple ID - and did not create a new Apple ID, then you would be able to update the apps with the changed ID.
I apologize if I misunderstood you and apparently I did misunderstand you. If you created a totally new ID, then what you are seeing is normal.
Just to double check, did you change the Apple ID like this?

Help changing to new Apple ID can't get rid of old one

    Hi jackburkholder,
You will need to delete the iCloud account with your old ID, but before you can do that, you will have to go back into Manage Your Apple ID, and change your Apple ID back to the old address. Don't worry about verifying it, you just need to change it.
Then, go into Settings>iCloud and turn off Find My iPhone (it will ask you for a password - put in your current one to turn it off). Then, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and Delete the iCloud account using your current password.
Also go into Settings>iTunes & App Store, clidk on your old ID and sign out of iTunes.
Then go back to Manage Your Apple ID and put your new Apple ID back in.
Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign on with your new Apple/iCloud/iTunes ID.
Go back into Settings>iTunes & App Store and sign on with your new Apple/iCloud/iTunes ID.
    Cheers,

  • My mother gave me her old Macbook, her old Apple id keeps popping up though. How do I erase it? She did not reset the computer because there are pictures I wanted. Thanks...

Do I need to put the photos I want on an external drive and reset the computer? She is no longer a user.

There's two ways to handle this:
1.) Backup the content you wish to keep from your mother to external hard drive (flash drive as well). Then wipe and start fresh.
2.) If there are programs as well you want to keep and she did not supply the original installation media it'd be easier to get a clean slate by making a new user on the computer and setting yourself as an admin. Whether or not you then go in and remove her old account is up to you.

    Hello tcnolen1,
It sounds like you are trying to change the Apple ID logged into the iTunes & App Stores on your iPhone.  Use these steps:
    Changing your Apple ID account
Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores, then tap the Apple ID signed in.
Sign out of the current Apple ID account and then sign in with another account or create a new Apple ID.
